Altona Sports Club is the best in the west! Family orientated, friendly staff and great food (hamburgers are the BEST!). Australia Day celebrations were well organized, great music, fun day for the kids as well as adults. Well done Dave, Rita and staff. An absolutely FANTASTIC day!! 🥰🥰🥰

In short, don’t book the bistro if you have a large group and intend to decorate. Do book if you want excellent service, and a simple lunch for an intimate group by the water! 🥰 My Mum booked here for her 70th birthday celebration, for 30 guests. The staff were wonderful, with a special shout out to the bistro manager for the day, Angela, and one of the service staff, Rose, who were both amazing (also Stacey via phone!)! 🤩 The food was good, and the staff were incredibly helpful. However, it’s important to note that they don’t encourage or want people to decorate the space. Angela did accomodate for some of the things we brought, and so we were able to create a special space for Mum to celebrate the milestone, albeit not what we had envisioned. You need to remain seated in the bistro, as the service staff can’t deliver meals and other guests get crowded if you stand! This made it hard to mingle and catch up with others in the group (we were over 3 tables), which was disappointing. They gave us everything we needed to cut and serve the cake, and stored the cake in the fridge until we were ready to light the candles. 💖 Service was quick, and the tables always had water on them. All in all, the lunch went really well, and the friendly staff made up for the disappointment with decorating. 🥰 Thank you!

Came with a friend. Had Atlantic Salmon. Charred skin and greasy. Rest of it nice but found a long bone. Friend had roast of the day. Not enough gravy and veggies tasted watery broccoli in particular was mushy.

Good value meals at lunchtime, pleasant , helpful staff, nice atmosphere. My only comment is that the windows were not clean, spoiling the bay views. Otherwise good.

We went to the club last night for a meal I ordered the roast of the day which was pork it was tasteless and dry like eating a piece of cardboard would not recommend.

The food was nice , wait staff were great and nice view from the function room. Front of house is the reason for the 3 stars , was not a very professional welcoming.

Love the live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Comedy nights are fantastic, the food is good. There’s always something to do at the club, it’s very inclusive and friendly.

My family and I love this place. Food is great and fast service. Kids have heaps to play outside and bay views from the dinner table. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Thanks Altona sports club.

Altona Sports Club is a decent spot if you're looking for a casual meal and a place for the kids to run around, but don't go in expecting a fine dining experience. The focus here is definitely on the pokies, which dominate the main area. The food at the bistro is perfectly acceptable, with classic pub fare done well enough. Nothing to write home about, but it fills the gap. We had the fish and chips and the chicken parmigiana, both of which were decent sized portions and tasted fresh. The real highlight for us was the outdoor area. There's a great playground that kept the kids entertained for hours, and plenty of space for them to run around. This made it a relaxed experience for us parents, which is always a bonus! Overall, Altona Sports Club is a solid 3 out of 5 stars. If you're after a family-friendly spot with a casual atmosphere and some pokies action on the side, it's worth checking out. Just don't expect to be blown away by the food or atmosphere.

The dancing area is no good for our style of dancing, giving us bad knees n ankles for dancing on it, but Bootscooters were ok

Had a gathering after a funeral. The food was basic. Staff were ok. Nothing to really recommend this place.

I cant say my meal was anything to rave about. Had the seniors Nasi Goreng. Was definetly not freshly made. It was tepid, had clumps of white rice through it and basically no taste at all. Precooked rice with soy sauce tossed thru thats all it was. Another member of the group had same but wasnt impressed either. Others in group were happy with their food choice Service was good . Great atmosphere .

Wanted to visit the TAB here, then was asked to provide a drivers licence to sign in, and they will scan it in their system. Don't like the system, so I left and took my business elsewhere. I won't visit this again

Popular place on a Sunday! We were lucky to get a table which we shared. We went for the concert and enjoyed the performance and dancing. We only had drinks from the bar. But it was an entertaining afternoon. The venue is very welcoming. Next time, we will check out the Bistro.

Visited last night for a meal and then entertained by Tequila Brothers…what a terrific band! Had a full dance floor all night…also, compliments to every single staff member who were all amazing…food and drink so delicious and so very cheap too Will definitely return ASAP

Nice venue by the sea in Altona. The restaurant at the back of the venue has views of the sea. Attended on a Friday for lunch. The hospitality staff promptly attended to our small party, menus and water immediately provided with a smile. Our order consisted of Lamb Shanks, Lemon Pepper Calamari, Creamy Garlic Tiger Prawns and a Chicken Parma. All meals were delicious, no complaints. Seniors and children’s menu available. Prices are in line with other similar venues. The total for the above mentioned meals, 1 coffee and 1 non-alcoholic drink $140. Drinks must be purchased from the adjoining bar unless it’s coffee. Good service provided by all the staff, who stopped to have a quick chat with our overseas visitors. On the day we attended there was ample parking in front of the venue just metres from the front door. Wheelchair access is also catered for. Will happily go back to this Club/restaurant.

Great night out for the Wednesday comedy night! Coincided with their pot and Parma night which was a bonus! Overall a very affordable and fun night.

Gf Parma was great. Chicken scallopini was awful. Watery, cold veg that I think were frozen. Sauce made thin and lacking mushroom flavour. Had a sour taste. Mushrooms seemed to come from a can. Chicken tough. Could not eat it. Disappointed.
