Very disappointed no service food not happy not worth the money

Cheap seniors 7 days.

Meals great, havnt been here since the renovations so was a little lost. If u don't like ordering using your phone they still have walk up to order. Will go back.

Food was great 👍 But the portion of food was way to small. I ordered fish and potatoes with vegetables I got 3 small potatoes and 2 small pieces of fish. Won't be going back !!

Food was subpar, table dirty and incredibly overpriced for bad quality food.

A nice clean and friendly place, let down by the food on offer during weekday lunches. On our first visit (a Friday) we were disappointed to find no bistro and the buffet only open on the weekend for lunch. The Sports bar menu was reasonably dotted with the usual pub fare of Parma, fish and chips, lasagna, etc, but was lacking in vegan, vegetarian, and food allergy options. The meals were well portioned and presented, but were disappointing to eat with tough steak and greasy fish. We both felt queasy in the afternoon. Please note: the salad and vegetables were fresh, but the meat, fish, and chips felt as though they were pre-processed. Maybe other meals would have been better. We will try the buffet one night and I will edit this review to suit. Otherwise, the surroundings were fine, the service pleasant, and the clientele seemed happy, although few in number and quiet for a Friday. Tap bears were limited. There is a well appointed gaming room, and clean and well maintained facilities. There is plenty of on-site parking, although the exit to the main road is a little difficult to navigate when busy. I would suggest using the side road to enter/exit. I honestly want to like Castello's as it really seems like a nice place. I look forward to a better experience next time, so I can adjust this review.

I wasn’t impressed with my meal neither was my brother and sister in law! My lamb shank was quite stringy and dry and I didn’t like the sauce it came in, my brothers Rogan Josh was very dry which they did replace with a different dish and my sister in laws spinach ravioli was quiet a small portion and she said it wasn’t great! The service is exceptional though!

Just pub food,nothing special,need to change menu,gets boring after a while,or don't eat there anymore as a local now.

We enjoy going to this pub because the meals are really nice, well presented and the prices are comparable to other places in the area. The staff are all welcoming and friendly and they all seem to enjoy working there. On the downside there is an aroma in the main dining area that is really strong and triggers my asthma - at first I thought it was somebody’s perfume but it is there every time, it’s off putting but the food and the service keep us coming back.

Was hear six of us for lunch - food was great and the staff very nice- forgot to check prices and take photos but highly recommended

My parents had a wonderful Christmas Dinner , it was the second year they went and will go back next year for the Christmas dinner. Thank you for the great service too

Went down there today to watch the footy. Asked for the game to be put on the TV & was refused. No other customers in the area & I was told that I couldn't watch the TV there as it was for someone else. No wonder there was no one else there..

Once again problems when ordering our food, till not picking up discount or gift voucher, had to stand and wait until manager was available. Quality of food has deteriorated since changes to loyalty program, pokies no longer return a good percentage of monies gambled Staff not trained properly to understand the system We used to promote this venue for their food and service but not anymore and will not be going back

Ordered the Americana grazing board for 2 people. Not enough chips or coleslaw for 1 meal, let alone 2. 3 wings, 3 fritters, weird for 2 people. $72!! Lucky Maccas is next door. Would have told staff instead of google review but nobody asks how your meal was anyway.

This is our go to place. Never had a bad meal here. The staff are always so friendly.

Ordered entree mains came out first so they took back parm and brought out entrees about 15 mins later told they would make a fresh one but they reheated to old one not happy

Usually not bad but tonight was pretty awful. Steak was well cooked but looked like it'd been in the ring with Mike Tyson for 10 rounds and the fish was mostly oily empty batter at either end. Should have gotten the chicken burger.

Why do we have to pay for deserts. Then head to the bar to pay for a coffee Why you cannot change the system to Order coffee and cake in the one place Three different surcharge for Dinner Cake and coffee Food and service was good

Great food, great place and amazing staff

The roast beef were slices from a supermarket deli.

Exceptional! The staff were friendly, hospitable and efficient. The ambiance was pleasant and not too noisy even though it was busy and the main meal was hot and fresh. The dessert was overwhelmingly large and enjoyable. The duty manager was present and carefully monitoring the customer experience. There’s also a playground for kids. Bravo!!

Tried to order a kids meal tonight and got refused by the lady serving (dark red hair, didn’t get her name as she didn’t have a name badge). She was extremely rude and told me I had to have the bigger meal. I have an eating disorder and cannot eat a huge meal nor want that much food in front of me. Every other restaurant I have been to are considerate and understand that I am requesting a small kids meal because that is all I can eat, if I could eat more I would order a bigger meal. Very disappointed in this and the way she handled the situation. I hope she can be taught to be a little more considerate and polite :)

Had a lovely meal for Fathers Day and as always fantastic service from the staff. The face painter in the kids play area was absolutely fantastic!!

Good food, good drinks and recently redone which adds to the venue. Very very quiet on the night I went which meant we were sitting in silence a bit.

I have been here a couple of times. This time, the food was underwhelming. It wasn't seasoned and tasted boiled. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and the atmosphere is great, the food though was a let down.

Just a pub with pokies. Not my scene but I was hungry 🙂

The bar tender Rany went above and beyond to make our time there enjoyable. He was extremely polite, professional and went out of his way to give us a great experience! Well done Rany 👏👏

Good venue to bring the children. Great selection on the menu with efficient table service

Went on Sunday night and the food was very good. Have a fussy Vegetarian daughter and she loved the Garlic Bread and Gnocchi. The Curry was excellent as well...takes a while to get your meals as others have stated but if your not in a real hurry I can recommend here for sure.

Lovely atmosphere very friendly staff and food very nice. Roast for mum, scotch fillet and veges for me. Only issue was the horrible tonic water from those hoses..😝..always flat and sickly. Not sure why they can't offer bottles of tonic. I'm happy to pay a little extra for Schweppes tonic.

The chicken scallopini was absolutely delicious. They were also able to cater to our party’s diverse needs (vegetarian, gluten free). Good play area for the little ones as well.

Daughter ate here with partners family for a birthday dinner. She ordered her meal and a lemon lime and bitters to drink, which was listed on the menu as a softdrink. When the waitress brought her drink to the table she asked my daughter for ID. Confused, my daughter said she didn't have ID, despite her being 19 years of age and the fact that she had no intention to drink alcohol. Puzzled, my daughter questioned the waitress regarding the drink containing alcohol. Waitress advised her that it did infact contain alcohol (which my daughter had no idea as it was listed on the menu as a soft drink). Later in the night after this occured, a family member ordered a jug of lemon lime and bitters for the table to share as a few others wanted a glass of it. The bar tender told the person ordering yeah thats fine but keep it down your end of the table because someone on your table doesnt have ID on them". My daughter had no intentions of having a glass anyway after finding out earlier that it contained alcohol and since she didnt have her ID. I'm just appalled at the whole situation. My question is Why are you advertising lemon lime and bitters as a soft drink if it contains alcohol?. Called and spoke to a manager regarding this and was told that the manager had no idea that the lemon lime and bitters was listed as a soft drink on the menu. How many other diners have ordered a lemon lime and bitters at this restaurant under assumption they are drinking a non alcoholic beverage when infact it contains alcohol?. How many under age diners have not been asked for ID and been served this drink which does contain alcohol?. Absolutely disgusting. A mistake like this could be detrimental to someone's health especially if they are not allowed to consume alcohol due to medical reasons. Please amend your menu and lift your game. Not good enough 😡"

My second time here. Delicious food, friends loved their choices of seafood soup, ravioli and chicken Parma. I had the vegetable risotto with prawns. Omg ! Absolutely the best I’ve had. Well done. Staff are courteous and meals all served hot. Definite winner.

We come here regularly and are usually very happy. Just a bit disappointed last week with the lack of service provided. There was multiple staff on yet no one came to clean out plates up even when it was clear we were all finished eating. When we asked for the cake to be brought out they did but still didn’t take away dirty dishes. We ended up having to completely clear the table ourselves before cake could be served. The wait staff watched us literally carry plates back to the kitchen and said nothing. No one offered to help. Bit disappointed as the place was practically empty at this stage and as paying customers we shouldn’t be doing the wait staffs job for them. Otherwise was a pleasant evening.

I dined with two friends. We were very happy with our meals. All the staff were very helpful and professional. Really enjoyed our time in the bistro.

Great place for meeting up with our family from Melbourne, we travel from Gippsland. Must learn to ask for quieter corner when visiting at the weekends though as it's very popular with families 👪 Well priced and great service.

Visited on Friday night for the first time since its refurb and was most impressed. The food was outstanding- hubby said the ribs were the best he's had anywhere in a long time. We spent some time in the gaming room (sadly not a winner) and in the bar to watch the footy. It was pleasing to see the staff pitching in to help across all areas of the venue and their service was fantastic. My only recommendation would be is to have some more comfortable seating (lounge or lounge chairs) to view sport rather than bar stools. Other than that, a great venue!! We will be back again.

Significant price increases from early May; slow service and unstable network systems led to delay in ordering

Food was overpriced and Parma was an over cooked massed produced type, not very tasty. Staff were inattentive and a bit rude if I’m honest and drinks never arrived. Wouldn’t go back unfortunately.

Great place for Sunday lunch

Recently had my partners 30th here and it was lovely. Almost everyone said their food was great and it came out super fast! They went above and beyond storing and serving our birthday cake to all 3 of our tables. Some staff were friendly than others but it definitely didn't impact the enjoyment of the night. We were however sat in a different section to what we booked but it ended up being a better space anyway. All in all it was a great night with out friends and family. Thank you Costello's! We will be back!

I would have given it a 5 star review after the first time I went there, it was a Saturday night, and they were busy. I couldn't fault anything, the food was really good, we weren't waiting long and the staff were on the call, however we went back during the following week, we seemed to wait longer, the meals were mostly ok but weren't as nice, the corn chips that came with the Mexican salad bowl were stale, the servings were smaller in comparison to the Saturday night, not sure what the go on the second night we went was, I'm hoping they were having an off night and it will be as good as the first time, I'll update my review of we go again. Worth checking out and decide for yourself.
