An amazing venue, it is so well kept and a very large space inside. We had the paella 🥘 special which was simply superb!
Food was quite over cooked.. we ordered a chicken parmigiana and beef schnital and the chips were also quite overcooked plus was a little over priced & couldn’t even get veggies instead of the handful of fancy lettuce w 3 thinly slice tomato, & cucumber did have a small sprinkle of carrot w this so called salad which we were surprised they didn’t charge a extra $8 for as it is a vegetable garlic bread was ok & had a very lovely waitress won’t b back in a hurry & wouldn’t recommend eating there sorry.
Great pub for a meal and a cold drink on a very hot day.
Amazing Building, friendly staff, great accomodation and food was brilliant
Great pub, great food and a well appointed icon of the hill
Magnificent Pub in the heart of Broken Hill that offers incredible service, Cold Beer, Great meals. We visited during the Mundi Mundi Bash and staff were under the pump but remained calm and friendly at all times. We will definitely will return. I hope the staff receive a generous bonus after todays effort.
We recently visited the Broken Hill Pub and had an enjoyable experience! The Stonegrill Steaks are an absolute highlight—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, they truly set the standard for a memorable meal. The quality of the meat and the attention to detail in its preparation are second to none. The staff at the pub are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every guest feels welcome. I was particularly impressed with how well they catered to various dietary restrictions without compromising on taste or quality. Their willingness to accommodate every need really made the dining experience exceptional. Combined with its unique, historic charm, modern touches and relaxed outback vibe, the Broken Hill Pub offers a dining experience that is both authentic and refined. I can confidently say this is a 5-star experience, and I can't wait to return for another amazing meal.
Owner extremely rude
Closed over the Christmas new year tourists everywhere nothing open so can't really say about the food
Visited twice. Good meals both times.
We ordered the steaks and it comes half cooked in a hot stone so it keeps cooking while you eat but everyone got fat splashed from it. Nice idea, but table, cloth and floor all greased up after meal.
The restaurant has the ambience of a food hall, the outside area has the consistency drone from the kitchen exhaust duct, that was obviously overlooked at planning. Jack Daniels or Jim Bean are not served!
Amazing Pub. The atmosphere was really nice and laid back. It felt very safe and welcoming. The locals are super friendly and ready for a chat or to lend a hand. The food was delicious.
Great pub. Food was stunning. Highly recommend the steaks. Won't be disappointed.
Nice place for lunch food was good although a little slow to come
Beautifully restored old pub. Food is always fresh and tasty. Beetroot Salad is a must have. There is also a gift shop, where you can purchase BHP merchandise. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Great food, staff so friendly and great atmosphere.
Fantastic renovation, great service and delicious eye fillet (cooked however you like on stone grill).
Popped in for a lunch at the Broken Hill Pub and was greeted by the friendliest of staff. I was dining on my own and the team stopped by to check in on my experience along the way, sharing a quick chat amd laugh. The nice young man behind the bar offered to pass on my compliments to the chef as I was leaving. The chicken wings divine and I stowed the remainder of what I couldn't eat for an early evening snack. Now cooled by my fridge, just as delicious. The list of good food places is long. This pub definitely belongs on that list. For the atmosphere, food, staff and service. 🧡
A great pub, terrific space to take you dogs along,we'll be back !!
Great Modern Pub Food with Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian options with a nice outdoor dining area. We weren't sure what would be in stall for us at this hotel but the BHP was super modern (obviously new) and it's menu reflected this. We had the STONEGRILL eye fillet which was delicious and a bit of fun cooking having to cook our own meat on a heated stone. We also had the pumpkin and beetroot salad which was well made and balanced - this salad was also gluten free, vegan and vegetarian.
Great food. Easy space for singles, groups, couples, travellers or locals. Meals were delicious. Fresh salad and vegetables. Lovely schnitzel. Great disability accessibility.
Travelling through and stopped in for Lunch , Dog friendly, Great ambiance, Hamburgers and Fish and Chips very nice ,
Great pub. Great service. Great meals.
Great food, welcoming and honest staff.
This place has a fresh delicious battered whiting fish with chips and salad for lunch, must try! They have a really good & fresh chicken parmy love it👌. The garlic bread is ok, the pad Thai is alright, seasoned but very dry, the prawns are skinny, the smoked chicken wings are very bad, and the pulled pork burger is average not moist and flavourful, the chicken schnitzel is ok but moist. I had the Ribeye steak on the hot stone with jus, & creamy mash; it was really good, tender and juicy but a little over seasoned. Comfortable sitting, nice atmosphere, good service and friendly staff, thanks guys😁👍✌️. Recommended here Photos by: jesusbelievers_noah I.G & F.B
Bloody great way to cook your steak staff was very friendly....
Staff & atmosphere great but food was very average
Dog but due to regulations only for lunch time service and only in the beer garden via the rear entry.
Disappointing with the menu. They are trying to charge $47 to $50 for you to cook your own steak on a stone grill, Sydney prices in country NSW 😒
Don't order the beef schnitzel... certainly not this weekend... smells funny but according to the chef it's fresh! And make sure you say that you want the starter Arancini balls as a starter not at the same time as the main..... service seems a bit lax these days...
Great place loved it friendly good food really nice place.
Went here last night for the public holiday. They have the hide to charge an extra 15% for the public holiday which is absurd in the first place. Secondly I ordered the rip off $30 chicken schnitzel. The schnitzel was one of them heart shaped, frozen. processed meat deals. It comes with only chips and salad, if you want veges they have the nerve to charge an extra $15 for veges, no way! Then, when the meal comes out, the salad was a pile of lettuce, tomato and cucumber and ZERO dressing. Come on you lazy asses, put some love in your meals instead of sitting back gouging the customers with your rip off prices. The staff were also walking around like spaced out zombies who didn’t want to be there. Smarten up your act!
The Broken Hill Pub offers a fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service. A must-visit spot for a great time with friends. Highly recommend for anyone passing through! Five stars!
Great location , had hamburger and chips. While watching the footy,
Good food ,service wine ....
Beautiful exterior let down by the drafty, bright soulless dining room dominated by a huge screen.
Ate at the BHP last weekend. Our entree arancini was quite good, although it would want to be for $19. However our mains were nothing short of terrible. I had the Scotch Fillet on the stone which you must cook yourself. There's now no option to have a steak cooked for you. The steak itself was nice enough, however was the saltiest thing I had ever eaten. They had massively overdone it with salt. As well as the this, you aren't provided anywhere to put your steak pieces after you've cooked it, so it all stays on the stone and gets cooked into oblivion. Then when you take it off the hotplate it's way too hot to put in your mouth. Overall a really clunky process and not very enjoyable. My partner had the special Beef and Chicken roast. She described it as the worst meal she's ever eaten out. The beef was tough like leather, completely inedible, and the chicken was low quality chicken loaf. Both were thinly sliced, not your usual pub roast. We had to get a takeaway pizza on the way home so she didn't go hungry. Never again.
Stopped by fire lunch and a drink after being a tourist all morning. Friendly greeting from staff. Lovely big open areas. Choose the sweet and sour pork special with a side of roasted veggies and 2 Shiraz. Lovely day to sit outside and relax.
Good service staff and food. Professional quality pub. Highly recommended. Quite loud so ask for a quiet table if thats your requirement.
We loved it here. The food was delicious. 🤤The kids spared a few chips which is a good indication they loved it. 🙌🏼 Our meals were amazing. I love ceasar salads and that’s what I rate when I eat them this pub does a 10/10 ceasar. The croutons and cheese mix was bang on 🙌🏼 The best part is, the venue is dog friendly. Out in the beer garden, is 100% dog welcome (between 12pm-2pm). Check out the specials too!
Great place. Real nice feel about it. Cold beer yeah
A$26 Medium cooked hamburger that are served rare and cold are extremely dangerous. Refusal to recook or offer a refund makes their Philipino cook" look very bad at his job. Wilted Salad served with fake Panko crumbed deep fryed A$30 schintzel has no salad dressing. Avoid"
Great service, clean and friendly. It's a shame you couldn't get more food before 5 pm, but other than that, I would visit here again
What a great meal, good ambience, friendly staff. Allowed dogs in beer garden. Our group had caesar salad 1 with haloumi and other with chicken plus Fish and chips, garlic bread and chips. All great meals, good size, hot. Thank you was lovely.
Excellent food, recommend the Pork belly... Yummmmmm.
Great pub! Lots of history, modern interior and relaxed atmosphere. Great food! Friendly service!
Maybe the best pork belly I have ever had, nice vibe, good beer selection and great food.
We recently held a function in the ballroom of the BHP for 65 guests. Not only is this room itself spectacular, but the ease in which we had access to be able to add our touches was fantastic. The general manager, function manager, and so many amazing staff made the day truly remarkable. The food was all organised, and every plate looked and tasted fabulous. I wouldn't hesitate to hold another event there, and if I could give them more than 5 star rating, I would!
Long cue to order food. Very long wait to get food. Average food.
Had an awesome eye fillet on shot rock.
Had a nice piece of meat cooked on a hot stone at my table by me, I cooked it perfectly thankfully cause I would have only had myself to blame, well played chef!
Good vibes! Friendly staff and nice food. I'll be back definitely. :)
For all the mundi mundi crew. Make sure you head in to town and support this amazing treasure in the broken hill..
I know it's the Monday before the Mundi mundi bash. I felt really sorry for the barman working on his own. Obviously the kitchen staff were under the pump as well. It took an hour and 20 minutes for the smallest meal I have ever seen. Yes ok, I ordered a meal on the menu that was smaller, but you can't class 4 small arancini balls and a salad for $19, that arrives on a bread and butter plates with the balls, a palm sized amount of rocket salad, with nothing other than parmesan sprinkled over it as a lunch. The most disappointing meal I have ever had! Management, sort it out, be honest and tell customers it's not available!
Waited for over 1.5hrs for our meal then they had the the wrong order, so waited a little longer, food was nice but service was very ordinary, not even a sorry!
Cold front door open at night
Was charged $41 for 2 ginger beers and one custard tart which was dry and tasteless. Expensive and no atmosphere when we were there. Would not go back or recommend.
They have a MERCH SHOP now. I bought a $70, M sized jumper. Huge hood that sits nice, not in my face, but forward more than usual hoods. I'm 117 cm bum, (12 trackpants to give you size idea) 106 cm bust,(12/L). Pictures provided of jumper. I shared chips, chicken pieces and garlic bread with another adult and it was plenty. I love the interior design of the place, because of the exposed beams, the big glass windows that let me look out to the courtyard. Lots of natural light. Tables are far apart for private chats, which we were having.
Nice food and amazing service
Great tasting meals, and great service.
Very clean bar area and excellent food. Good choice of beer and wine. Friendly staff and well worth a visit
Excellent food and service with a great atmosphere.
Relaxed atmosphere and the very friendly staff tgst managed our large group extremely well. The food was tasty.
Top quality food. Better than a pub meal.
What a great place to dine at. A pub with a BIG history and lovingly restored and renovated. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We give it 10 out of 10. So much nicer than some of the other ones in town, super clean and super nice.
Outstanding pub. Great location, friendly staff, tasty food and very clean. Shoutout to Max who has a super warm vibe and made us feel very welcomed.
Excellent modern pub in the historic centre of Broken Hill. Nice bar with great atmosphere and great selection of beers and wine. Restaurant has traditional pub food but of great quality. Special shout out to Max, who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommended.
Great food. Pleasant decor.
Not your typical country pub! Fabulously renovated with great ambience and a variety of areas (beer garden, cosy front bar, dining room). Really creative menu and great tasting meals. We enjoyed an afternoon here with the charcuterie board and a bottle of red wine followed by the duck pappardelle and cheesy garlic bread in the evening. Super friendly and attentive staff too. We’ll be back when travelling through next time.
Max is such an asset to the business. Amazing service and made us feel so welcome. Will visit after my Guiness World Record .xx
We are here a few times when we were in broken hill and really enjoyed it. The food was nice, the selection on offer suited us all and the service was great.
It was great the menu was good, not a lot on offer.
soso
The dish I ordered for dinner, upsetting my stomach and giving me diahorrea. Dined with 8 others, other customers were not happy with there meal either, who pays $7 for a cookie for dessert. Take your money and dine at the Astra better quality of meal and service. And worth the xtra $$.
Walked in on Sunday night staff were friendly and courteous. Got told at time of order could be an hour wait which was fine. The garlic came out and was delicious the came out about 40 minutes after ordering and were delicious.
Friendly staff, amazing food and great atmosphere 👌
Had a couple of meals here now, quality kitchen and quality food.
