Valet parking is not worth $130. We used the service for convenience to dine at hotel restaurant, after full day at work, on a Friday night. It later took one whole hour to retrieve the car. Better off parking in nearby Wilson
We arrived right on time at the restaurant on the 26th floor. The waiter greeted us rudely stating we only had 90 minutes and then disappeared. No worries we said as we were going to the Opera and needed to leave on time. It then took 34 minutes for them to get a drink order after we flagged them several times and then flag down others to get the food order, which finally arrived 5 mins before we had to leave and was cold - soggy and smelly. I said it was cold and instead of apologizing, he said it was because some other person had not cleared our table so there was no room??? Then we had to flag down more people for the check and he had to flag someone else down to figure it out. All 4 of us missed our show and left without eating much. After 12 days in OZ, this was our ONLY bad experience. If you want terrible service and cold undercooked food, this is for you. The view was lovely though. I would not spend 500 + for a view and no service again. If you go, enjoy the view and don't expect service or edible food. We went to their restaurant on the water downstairs the day before and were very happy - so maybe they have different management for the one on the 26th floor? Also, warning....my husband and I both feel like we have food poisoning and shouldn't have even tried the octopus or paella with black ink squid....both cold and old? Our friends are ok as they only had apps and drinks.
We stayed in a Crown Suite - Amazing! Excceptional. There was no negative. Dreamy sleeps in the huge king, uber comfy bed. Breakfast at Epicurean was THE best breakfast, I have seen in 20 years. And Spa is heaven.
Favourite hotel in Sydney 😍😍 stayed at the premier suite.
A cheap penny pinching hotel. This use to be a great hotel but in order to save money the hotel is making a lot of cut backs hotel guests are noticing. For example the breakfast buffet quality has plummeted. The room service can take hours and the use use to open at 6 and now opens at 7. Crown management is shaving off lots of little things but it’s to their detriment. Sydney Crown is not what it use to be.
Amazing hotel with beautiful rooms and top quality leisure facilities ! Only downside is that at the breakfast you are only allowed one hot beverage and are charged for any extra which I have never seen in such a high end hotel before. Normally the tea/coffee is the cheap item that’s free and you pay extra for specific egg choice etc. Even in your basic affordable hotels (such as premier inn) you get unlimited hot beverages, so it’s embarrassing to not have this luxury in such a high end hotel when paying such a high price!
This is a very large, luxury hotel. It’s pretty easy to spend a few days here and it’s an easy walk to other restaurants on the sea walk or around the point to Circular Quay. Rooms are very modern and spacious. Plenty of outlets and charging for devices and laptops. Decent wifi. Beds are excellent with Frette bedding. Sound proofing is thorough. We slept soundly. A few negatives that a hotel of this level and cost should not have: - The breakfast can’t accommodate dietary restrictions. It’s the only place in Australia I got gluten cross contamination in a three week trip. - Concierge needs to take it up a notch and make a guests stay excellent. They made reservations for us in advance, but zero follow-up. Added another reservation, which they made, but didn’t advise me of in time so it cancelled. Never offered to help or support. - No place to sit in the pool in the shade. Pretty minor, but the pool deck is unrelenting sun. We might stay here again, mainly because they have Woodcut, an excellent restaurant, and excellent beds. The traffic flow in main areas gets
I can only speak for the rooftop bar, did not stay actually at the hotel, but it is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and out. The view from the top is pretty stellar and the bartenders are very friendly. A little spendy on the drinks, but it is basically what you would expect at this place.
parking is problem
Great atmosphere and food and service
EVERYTHING IS TOO EXPENSIVE.
Restaurants downstairs
Check in is very slow and unpleasant. Room was on but looks lack of maintenance. Bathroom had disgusting smell. I got whole body allergy reaction after use the bath tub and shower towel. I have been struggling and fight with this allergy but still not well. Report to hotel but no one care. No service in this hotel at all. The only reason to stay might be the location. Will not recommend to anyone.
Too many people on a weekend, crush in the lift we'll was intense, then pushing onto the lift that 30 other people had been told to go to was more intense, dinner was OK and location was not really close to anything else
Best place
Upgraded to 2 bedroom suite is amazing.
Love it, I especially love flying my drone into famous celebrities rooms on the top. Always a fun experience. Especially flying into Drakes room, I don't think he liked me flying it in his room though.
Parking is painful otherwise perfect
This hotel is pure luxury. Our room was amazing with gorgeous views.
Nice looking bldg, but only used a restroom, as food prices for the restaurant on the 5th floor was way too expensive. Location is close to the Harbor, but not the Opera Side - sorry, too many places with water and not knowing the area. The area where the hotel is actually at is what I am talking about! I do nor know, but I presume one can get a room that you can see the Opera House, Harbor bridge, wharf and other things from the hotel, but it isn't close to those things - probably a 30 to 45 min walk to get there.
trash masquerading as luxury, save yourself the money and stay at real, down to earth, quite literally, any other place in the city.
Cost for room and service was not justified.
I stayed here five times and never disappoint. Favorite hotel in Sydney!!!!!!
Communication with staff so hard. Even though staying in a hotel i needed to send an email to hotel. Also staff untrained. Didn't know how to use lift. Other hotel guest who we met in a lobby he explained me to how to go to my room(unbelievable). Booked for 3 people however all amenities ready for 2 people. Needed to went downstairs to reception and asked them ( no phone?) When I asked reception staff about this issue she said send an email ( 😱) Also the room wasn't clean properly. I have a few photos as a evidence regarding condition of the room. Just location rest of them isn't 5 star hotel. Strongly NOT recommended. Go to four season hotel they are better
The check in was very smooth and easy. The room has a lot of stains on the floor, side tables and on the furniture. The robes were a bit wet. The bed sheets smelled kind of musky. The biggest issue with our stay was that the TV inside the bathroom. It was playing a very loud crown advertisement on repeat from checkin which was 1pm all the way until 6pm. The remote was not working to turn it off so we called the front desk multiple times to get some assistance as we wanted to rest in the room we paid almost $1000 for 1 night. We waited 5 hours before anyone even showed up and we never got a update even after calling over 4 times. Finally a technician came but he couldn't fix the issue. A different man then came and disconnected the TV so we couldn't use it now. After that the hotel manager was very kind and called us after and offered to give us chocolates and a extra champagne bottle as an apology. Unfortunately this never came as well so you can imagine our frustration. I chose this location to spend my girlfriends birthday and I was utterly disappointed with what service we received. For the price I paid I expect much better. As it is now I would not recommend staying here again.

Came to have dinner at Amare. Food was delicious just wish the portions were bigger
Absolutely our favourite spot in Sydney 🤍🖤
Crown Sydney is a dog and pony show. The casino is barely open to bring in some sort of revenue. You have to jump through 100 loop holes just to get to a table and the casino floor is terrible. More security guards than card dealers. 3 of us played rapid roulette, won and the machine took our money as a loss, we bet again and the same happened again. After consulting with the manager, he proceeded to check the play history of our machines and none of the timelines lined up with our play or deposit time. Complete scam of a casino for electronic machines.
I went twice to Crown Sydney. At Icebergs, it took 30 + minutes to get a bottle of wine, then second bottle they tried to give us a more expensive bottle and in Mahogany Casino I bought a Lychee Coconut cocktail that wasn’t shaken nor stirred, just poured into a glass. Then don’t bother trying to get a drink at a table or change your money at 7:30pm on a Saturday night, due to “staff shortages”. Ridiculous, go elsewhere.
This is usually my go to place. We come here quite abit and usually love it for all our special events to relax and dine in luxury.theres never been issues untill now. We havnt been for 3 months over the holidays and decided to come here for a night for a break.we got there at 3pm allowing us an hour before our spa appointment , we had to wait 50 minutes to check in and rush to get to our spa appointment on time. $150 for room service and our chicken was raw, the room we were in (deluxe king room) was next to the Barangaroo movies and was so loud!! Everyone we spoke to kept palming us off to other people and all telling us “there new” or they just started or “ I don’t know I will get someone to call you “ eventually we were over it and the ONLY person who helped us was MARIE LAURA. She straight away transferred us to another room on the other side , she kept calling the supervisors (who did not answer) to sort out our problem with the in room dining service. She also copped so much abuse and aggressive tones from customers behind us waiting in the line to check in when she was trying to call for help, working fast and really trying her best and still stayed so professional! That woman definitely needs a raise and to be acknowledged. We did end up getting a refund for the in room dining and get moved to another room but my problem is there should never of been these issues in the first place. We spent over $1000 for a night at the The crown so I expect no issues for that price. The crown is usually the best and we usually enjoy it so much but what the hell is happening!?!?!? Please sort out the management because this is not a luxury hotel anymore.. the W is starting to get more recognition now.
The most favorite spot in town
Absolutely outstanding establishment. If you can afford to stay here, you won't regret it. The casino is only one floor and no pokies so a little bit odd but 5 stars no less
Crown Sydney is the biggest joke in Australian hospitality. It promises luxury but delivers a steaming pile of disappointment wrapped in pretentious nonsense. If you’re thinking of staying here, save your money and your sanity — even a backpacker hostel would be less insulting. Check-In: An absolute circus. The staff couldn’t operate their own check-in system, stumbling around like headless chickens. They were clueless, inefficient, and downright incapable. The whole process was slower than a government queue on a public holiday. Pool Service: What service? The pool attendants couldn’t care less about guests and refused to serve drinks at the pool. No “special” cocktails available? No problem — because there were no cocktails available at all. None. A “luxury” hotel that can’t manage a simple margarita is an absolute disgrace. Harbour Bridge Views: What a scam. Instead of the iconic Harbour Bridge, I was treated to panoramic views of muddy construction pits and flood-ridden swamps. It looked like a scene from a disaster relief documentary. For what they charge, I should have had uninterrupted views of paradise — instead, I got Sydney’s ugliest backyard. Staff Knowledge: Asked for dining recommendations and got robotic answers pointing to Crown-owned venues. Beyond that? Absolute ignorance. It’s like they’d never even left the building. Breakfast: Not included. Seriously? After charging a fortune for the room, they want you to pay extra for breakfast? It wasn’t even gourmet — just the same boring buffet you’d find at a budget hotel. Casino Access: Oh, and don’t bother heading to the casino without a physical ID. Digital IDs — which the rest of the country accepts — are somehow beyond Crown’s comprehension. Valet Parking: $100 to hand over your car to a valet who probably treats it like a demolition derby vehicle. This place is a shameless, money-sucking black hole that thrives on gullible guests who buy into its false reputation. Crown Sydney isn’t just bad — it’s an insult to anyone with standards. Avoid it like the plague.
Great Ambience just be prepared to pay. Needs to extend hours
Horrible casino. I don’t think it can be called a casino. They need to send someone to Vegas to see how a casino should be
Very burocratic casino. I have a large name (portuguese surnames can be big, i have 2 composed surnames). It takes like half an hour to get ready to play. Just quitted afer 10 minutes, didnt want to waist my time
Great place for holiday, very clean room and facilities. Only 1 negative is no parking or expensive for valet parking
I wouldn't even give this place any stars. Terrible customer service. Don't buy gift cards because if the card is lost or misplaced they will not replace it. I lost, misplaced a $300 gift card even though it hasn't been used and they will not reissue another card because they don't match up our receipt with the number on the card. Total rubbish. It's a great way to steal your money. I will never step foot near this place and my friends and family will know about it. It was frustrating speaking to anyone. Very poor poor customer service. There has to be a way to protect the purchase of a gift card that you have purchased and be able to replace it. Absolutely discusting and ridiculous.
We arrived at the hotel at 3 PM (designated check-in time) only to wait until 5 PM for our room to be ready. The overall service was disappointingly slow and dismissive. We then visited the bar downstairs where they mistakenly tried to charge us for another tables drinks and left us waiting for 20 minutes to settle our bill for a single cocktail, causing us to run late for our dinner reservation. Additionally, I had reached out to the weddings team via email two months ago requesting a tour of the ballroom and to discuss potential plans but I have yet to receive a response. Given this level of incompetence, I would never consider hosting an event at Crown Sydney.
Our stay at the Crown Sydney was great, but there was a bit of a wait when checking in at 3:00pm. I would recommend turning up after 3:30pm to reduce your waiting time. The rooms were not made available for 2.5 hours. More staff could have been able to attend to patrons quicker and reduce delays to check-in and room servicing turnaround.
Simply impressive
I been staying in few special occasions and its been amazing, try to be there early to avoid the crowds and better rooms!
Went to A'Mare Italian restaurant in The Crown, and it was very good. They have vegan options, which was absolutely gorgeous. Great venue for that special occasion. It's not cheap but worth it.
Room was nice, very nice actually. Absolutely nothing wrong with the room. Most of staff were pretty professional. Queue for check in and check out is a joke I reckon I spent 2 hours in a queues as they didn’t have enough staff on. One time we had to queue for an hour to be told room wasn’t ready then queue another 30 mins after to get the key when it was ready. Then a good 30 check out. Couldn’t get in the pool. Kids running everywhere, no sun beds free despite being everyone being stacked on top of eachother. The service was good when ordering a drink to be fair but the pool, was a joke. Staff were rude as anything in the “casino”. More life and atmosphere in a mortuary. About 20 roulette and bacarrat tables in an otherwise empty room. If you’re paying 5 star prices you want 5 star service, 3 star service at BEST. Giving 2 because I feel they took the living p…
Extremely poor experience in check in and check out. Waiting over 55 minutes at both instances leaves a very unpleasant experience. Nothing special at all
Very nice place to be with family and friends. Iconic views of Sydney harbour Bridge and Opera house from the room.
Great views, location, and clean rooms, but that's about all that's good with this place. We experienced a very slow check in with inexperienced staff who failed to inform us that our suite was accessed via a separate lift. The luggage took so long to arrive to our rooms, that we thought it was permanently lost. It took 4 calls and over an hour to get it, when we were informed that it would be in our room before us. Most of the staff we came across were lacking friendliness and professionalism, and the place is very, very crowded. Wouldn't come back.
Incorrect room allocation for purpose of visit Late check in at 3.45pm due to staff shortage Late check out unavailable Plumbing issues in the Executive Room Room IPad that controlled all areas needed to be docked at all times Unfortunately the specifications of a celebration were not recognised at all. It was a below average experience for what the Crown holds as a brand. Sofitel was always my choice in hotels and this experience has reaffirmed this decision and loyalty. Very overrated and expensive for a below average stay
Don't normally like to complain but...... Check in got delayed by 2.5 hours. They gave us a credit to use in the hotel to use on whatever we wanted. All good. As I mentioned I don't like to complain so we made the most of it and spent some time in the pool. Then came time to check out. I asked to use our credit for the cost of valet parking. Reception said no problems. Then I check my credit card and they charged us for valet anyway. Probably the last time I'll be staying here. Which is unfortunate because the rooms are beautiful and the location is spectacular.
Feels a world away from Sydney, more Miami Beach feels. If you want a staycation that feels a little different from the typical Australian experience, look no further.
Amazing experience at the crown with the best Dealer ever Ngaire, she’s so kind and dedicated with customers she definitively need to get promoted
Check-in takes around 30 minutes, even if you arrive early, likely due to the AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) perk. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, featuring a wide variety of dishes and cuisines to suit every preference. Rooms are expensive for what you get especially during peak times. We stayed during the Christmas holidays. Overall a great experience.
Checked in at 2:45pm and the room was only ready at 3:30pm. Had to wait for 45mins in the lobby. Is this supposed to be the service for the price of the room? If you don’t have enough housekeeping staff, hire more please.
worlds, worst in- knowledgeable and serviceable people in this place. everyone saying different policy and different rules
My partner and I stayed at The Crown Sydney for one night to celebrate our anniversary. While the hotel has a stunning ambiance, the experience was disappointing. Despite noting our special occasion, there was no acknowledgment or extra touch, and service was slow—our champagne arrived without glasses, and we waited over an hour for them. We also ordered two pillows, but only one arrived. Though the hotel looks beautiful, the stay itself lacked comfort. The room got hot overnight, and the bed wasn’t great. The pool was closed due to weather, and with no indoor pool or spa, there weren’t many amenities to enjoy. Considering we’ve had better experiences at lower-priced hotels, the value here didn’t match up. The restaurants—Amare and Epicurean—are fantastic, but I’d recommend skipping the hotel stay.
