zac is the best server i’ve ever experienced most kind and welcoming person here and food was amazing and lachlan is great at making cocktails

Food was lovely. Service was slightly disappointing. Asked for a table in the bistro but was put outside because our request wasn’t read properly. We were eventually able to move inside because we notice a table was being held 40 minutes past the reservation time. Drinks took a while. Entertainment on the night we were there made the acoustics of the environment really bad.

Food was good other than having hair in my steak sandwich otherwise good place

Big snitty was awesome & the prawn & pork salad was also big meals 😋 well worth it & lovely friendly staff.

Cindy and the team at Hope Island Tavern have always been so wonderful. Every time we have been for a meal we have been politely welcomed, food is always delicious and amazing portion sizes for the price. I held my daughters first birthday at this venue and have her second coming up and can't recommend them enough. Being able to book for a large group and not have the stress of needing a minimum spend etc is a big bonus! Thank you to the HIT team! Keep it up

Great lunch celebrating family engagement

We had an engagement celebration lunch with family. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The food was amazing! They also allowed us to store a cake in the fridge, and brought it out and congratulated us on the engagement. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

21 of us had lunch at Hope Island Tavern yesterday, the service and the food was great. We were amazed that all the meals were on the table within a short amount of time considering our numbers. We were all very happy with our meals, my calamari was perfect. Cindy looked after us so well and bought out Dad’s birthday cake just when we needed it. The table looked lovely too when we walked in with balloons where Dad was to sit. We’ll be back again for sure and we would highly recommend the Tavern for small or large groups. Good kids menu if required.

You know.. i visited this pub a few years ago.. it was very ordinary hotel .. not 1st class restaurant.. Now after the refurbishment the restaurant is outstanding the staff were happy and professional.. The rissole and mash was very good and the beer was nice cold.. well done crew

We’ve just spent my birthday dinner at Hope Island Tavern tonight and the new renovations look so fantastic!! We were served and helped by a wonderful lady called Amber, who was incredible friendly, helpful & went above & beyond to make our night an extra special one. All of the staff were fantastic, food was delicious & the kids absolutely LOVED the playground area. Well done, we’ll definitely be back soon! 😊

Thank you so much for your excellent service! I always love coming to the Hope Island Tavern, especially because of the amazing playground for the kids, which has been completely renovated. It’s a perfect spot for families. On our last visit, we had to change a dish because we ordered it incorrectly, and the manager was incredibly kind and helpful in resolving the issue without any hassle. I truly appreciate the outstanding attention to detail and customer service. That’s exactly what we look for when going out on weekends – a place where we feel well taken care of. First time back since the renovations have been done. Beautiful food and excellent service - great atmosphere in the bistro. Please don’t change the pepper sauce recipe (!) and serve more of it in a bigger jug 😜

Cindy was amazing. We booked for my Mums birthday outside, a storm was coming and Cindy was able to relocate 20 people to restaurant seating inside and have our food changed from our outside table order to inside with no issues. She was so happy, kind and helpful. It was a busy day at the tavern with a UFC fight being on, but the staff took it all in their stride. Would 100% recommend if your looking for good food and amazing customer service!

Everything is great .... But the food was so bad . I had the steak sandwich which ended up being a salad sandwich because the steak was so chewy I couldn't eat it ... $26 for a tiny salad sandwich ... Are you kidding!

The new renovations are a great improvement - much more family friendly! The meals are fabulous and always cooked to perfection. I was very disappointed that for almost $40 I got the smallest piece of fish. I will not order this again despite it being cooked perfectly as it's not value for money, not filling and is accompanied by a boring salad that simply fennel in a cabbage leaf. Thankful for a beautiful spicey margarita that was not on the menu but executed perfectly.

Disgusted in how the older lady ( manager ) treated the staff in front of customers . Been there 3 times and won’t t go back because of his age was treating them . The staff were lovely but she was so rude ! Each time we arrived early at around 4 with our child and asked to be seated outside ( near playground) and she would yell at staff we are to sit inside . Once we did people would arrive and just go sit outside and she let them . She couldn’t accomodate people who wanted to eat at 4pm even when was empty . Every time you look at her she is yelling at staff . Get a new manger her attitude to staff in front of customers is appalling !!!

Been coming here for sum time. Since renovations completed, the place is amazing. Great Food, atmosphere, live music , very welcoming for families with kids. Cindy, Zac, Paul, Gio & Leah extremely helpful, great at there jobs and make a friend of mine Graham feel comfortable.

We had a large group birthday party and this was a perfect venue. Food was amazing, staff were amazing! A very big shout out to Cindy who took such good care of us and made sure everything was perfect.

Nearly $80 for a dozen Oysters… REALLY?? Guess the genius who pulled that price out of the sky would be scratching their head about the Oyster sales 😂 That’s one product they don’t need to order. Or have on the menu 😂😂

Since its been revamped it seems to be getting a decent crowd to it, it's a shame that the service hasn't picked up also. Stood at the 'wait to be seated' sofn at the bistor for 2-3mins and noone came to attend to our booking. Sat outside under the cover area and was quite a nice spot now out there. One of rhe girls seeing the outside bar looked like she didn't want to be at work, and was too hard to smile or put effort into serving us. The food was good, the steak cooked perfectly and passed on comments to the chef via waitress. Would be a good vibe at an event outside now in the new umbrella area.

On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly geo. Very welcoming atmosphere. Live music. Food was decent. Very large portions. They even have a gelato bar.

Great renovation and atmosphere. Went there for a second meal last week. My mother in law had the fish and chips, which she thought had been sent incorrectly as the pensioners fish and chips. The piece of fish was tiny. The waitress mentioned that they have received lots of complaints about this as the chef is weighing each piece of fish.

Nice refurb

Really great place! Didnt go inside, met someone in the carpark and bought drugs, but it looked really nice and id like to go there some day.

Went for lunch with the girls today. Outside renovated area looks lovely but, disappointed that inside bistro still seemed quite typical tavern, like it was a completely separate venue. Staff were very pleasant, sadly, none of us rated the food very highly apart from cheese garlic bread which is wonderful. Fried chicken and bacon in carbonara seemed like processed meat. Wouldn't revisit in a hurry.

The customer service was 10/10. There’s a nice chilled feel about the venue. The prawn entree was absolutely delicious- it set the bar high for the mains. However, they were well below average. We order a simple parmi and the chicken skewer salad and both lacked flavour.

Were excited to try as we are locals but honestly will Not go back! Pasta was luke warm and had No flavour! My partners curry was yuck No flavour and just orange water 🤢 Honestly if your going to spend all that money on upgrading But the food is tasteless why bother? You need some New Chefs in your kitchen Worst food i have ever tasted!

We came here and ordered the plant based burger which is advertised as vegan and comes with vegan aoili however it has halloumi cheese on it which is NOT vegan. Kind of defeats the purpose of a restaurant when they can’t even discern that cheese is not vegan. My burger was stone cold and my partner got served the wrong pizza, he touched it and the waiter came over and took the pizza away to give him the correct one, the waiter then served that same pizza to someone else despite it being touched. Wish we kept the margarita as the mushroom pizza had a horrible brown drizzle on it that ruined the entire thing.

Unbelievable, the service, the food, the renovation. Management was so friendly and welcoming.Renee was wonderful to talk to. The food hit the spot. Free face painting for the kids. Playground was so clean and the adults kept cool with water mist blowing. Thanks guys will be back.

Unfortunate experience Without being a rambling bad customer I come with suggestions. 1. Ensure your wait staff interacts with customers ie. welcome, how are your meals, would your children like something to draw? 2. Ensure food is as menu suggests. Kids meals are sensitive (pineapple is not a good surprise/ onion on kids cheeseburger) 3. Add flavour to s+p calamari- cut in slightly larger pieces 4. Eye fillet hard to mess up- for the money ensure weight and cooked to liking 5. Find a better Caesar dressing 6. Prawn pizza was burnt - love the concept and home rolled bases- try fresh chilli instead of processed chilli sauce 7. Straws with ladies/ kids drinks Thanks

Food was very average, not hot and 3 out of 4 orders wrong on our table. The manager was very rude and abrupt when we showed proof of receipts and what we ordered. He was also dressed like he just got out of bed!! We were sat with 4 dirty tables around us for the whole time we were there and when the staff finally came to clean up it took 6 to clean one table, also had a very loud argument whilst doing this with inappropriate language used around guests with children! We are locals and thought we had found a really nice place for a family dinner but honestly probably won’t be back.

We just went for afternoon drinks outside on the new patio area. It's very festive and colourful. There is also a new outside bar. The outside area is now fitted with a massive sports screen, which will be great for NRL, AFL, and international games. Also a new kids play area. Inside eating area has been freshened up. The usual gambling area is still there with new larger screens for track events.

Great meal, very generous portions, exceptional service.

Lovely place on the water

All experience we had tonight’s dinner was horrible Our kids food wasn’t great. We order ham cheese pizza and came with pineapple and our little boy bit allergy with pineapple. For our daughter burgers it has onion and was toasted 🤔 My prawns pizza don’t have fresh chillies, it has chilli paste in it instead of fresh chillies Caesar salad with calamari wasn’t good All the staff was all standing and didn’t say if our food was good, not friendly at all Overall experience we had tonight was absolutely horrible.

Big improvement since the refurbishment. Nice to see they have stocked an IPA in the fridge for us people who appreciate beers other than lager. 👍

We had a great meal with friends at the tavern last night, the food was excellent, service was great even though they were busy, l would thoroughly recommend

I had Caesar salad. Unfortunately I had to discard a little of the lettuce as it was brown and inedible. The boiled egg was overcooked. The croutons were huge. Tasty all the same. The new outdoor dining area and kids playground are great. Live music on Sunday afternoon was fun.

Hi was there today. For granddaughters 3 rd Birthday. Very very hot we were outside they had water sprinklers. Light sprinkle. Could do wth fans .But. Service excellent so was good and the Elf entertainer. Was so hot but was excellent wth kids balloons bubbles made a fuss of my granddaughter being 3 she was amazing .We moved inside for our birthday cake staff bought out excellent .My granddaughter lost her balloon on ceiling. The guy serving with fuzzy hair got a lady and one of staff lady climbed up got it everyone clapped .They lost our cake box but gave our cake back in a container also granddaughter dropped her icecream they gave us another no charge .Excellent service staff were brilliant thanks

Had my daughter’s 3rd birthday and partners 42nd birthday family lunch here in 35 degree heat. Service was amazing, food was great and kids entertainment even better. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were all happy. Will definitely be back. Thank you!
