We had a fabulous dinner! The lamb shanks were tender and tasty.

The Old City Bank Bar is a traditional pub and a highlight of my trip to the Blue Mountains. I had the Beef and Ale Pie, the pie itself was very warm and comforting, the mash was nice and buttery but I felt like the portion was a bit small. My girlfriend ordered a malibu pineapple and was blown away by how well it was made, she said it was the best she ever had (and that’s her regular drink). The pub’s atmosphere was very cozy and full of character.

Best Steak and Mash I've had in a while!

Just tragic. Staff must hate their job. More interested in conversing with each other than serving customers. The food was not great. Garlic bread was 1/2 frozen in middle. Carrots were raw on pistachio lamb and the local made beer atrocious

Nice cosy pub with some great local beer options. Food is okay. Flavours are basic. Onion rings and sauce were nice and so was the rice and kale curry that came with the pork ribs. Not sure about the spring rolls. We expected hot and fried spring rolls, these were cold and had a gravy like sauce.

Nothing like a cold beer in the beer garden on a hot summer day.

Had a great meal here last night. Very friendly staff at bar (order food here then sit down). They directed me to their lager which was perfect for my pallet. On their suggestion I ordered the Beef and ale pie with mash and veggies. The flavors in the pie were delicious, the meat was super tender and crust was crispy and scrumptious!!! I’d go back for it today! If you find yourself in Katoomba stop here. I only wished they had music on Thursday nights!!

Great food in a quaint space (former bank) near the Carrington Hotel. Order at the bar and they bring the food out to you. Wonderfully air conditioned on a warm day. Enjoyed all our options - reasonably priced.

Terrible value for money, food was very ordinary - even kids meals didn’t get eaten, chips tasted like the oil was as old as the pub.

Bar staff were really rude towards us forcing us to go upstairs to eat the same meal we can order downstairs... food is good but staff have made me not want to visit again

Condescending staff. The guy with a moustache and funky hair at the bar is such a rude man. Learn some customer service if you a pub/bar.

Loooved it. I was so happy to see the bone marrow on the menu, I had to order it and was definitely not disappointed! It also was my first time having prosecco in an individual bottle, very cute. Very good pub food. Happy new year!

I’ve been coming to this bar in Katoomba for years and always enjoyed the great atmosphere, Guinness on tap, and the food menu. Unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing. The Guinness is no longer available on tap, and the new menu lacks the charm of the previous one, with higher prices and fewer appealing options. It feels like the character that made this place special is fading. I truly hope the management reconsiders some of these changes, as this bar used to be a must-visit for me every year

I am utterly disgusted by the staff’s behavior on Boxing Day. As a loyal customer who has visited this restaurant 10-20 times over the past five years, I was shocked to encounter such appalling treatment. I simply asked for clarification about the difference between the main salad and the side salad because I wasn’t sure about the portion sizes. Instead of receiving a polite response, I was met with a mocking, condescending comment: “Didn’t you ask that question before?” The tone and attitude were so blatantly rude that I was left speechless. How dare someone in a customer-facing role speak to a paying customer like that? It’s your job to answer questions respectfully, not belittle customers. The audacity and arrogance of this behavior are beyond comprehension. On top of that, the size of the salad I received for $18 was shocking. It felt like the staff deliberately made the portion so ridiculously small to add insult to injury and make their ugly behavior even more apparent. When I tried to stand up for myself and said, “No matter how many times a customer asks, if they are unsure, it’s your job to explain in a way that helps them order easily,” they laughed at me again. This wasn’t just poor service—it was insulting, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. You’ve ruined your reputation with this experience and, unfortunately, lost my trust and respect as a customer. So sad … no recommend at all . I hope the management reconsider their staffing

This restaurant had good food but the service was terrible. I asked a question and didn’t hear him but he said I only say it once. Either the server was having a bad day or the service was just not good.

The staff’s behavior was very rude and disrespectful. I strongly recommend never coming to this place again.

I placed a food order, and at the same moment, I requested to remove an item, but they refused. I work in a restaurant myself, and this was absolutely not the right way to handle it.

ランチに電車を待ちながら利用。 オーダーしてから出てくるまでも早く、スタッフさんがとても親切。 ハンバーガーもボリューム満点で味もとても美味しい。 ポテトもホクホク。さらに好きなだけ備え付けからケチャップやバーベキューソースをつけれるのも嬉しい。 ブルーマウンテン近郊でランチも良いですが、ここで電車までのんびりするのもオススメです。

Unique and lovely place. Being an old bank, it’s quite a special experience with lots of old and historical decor giving the the place a special atmosphere. Meals were delicious and staff were friendly and accommodating. A cool experience that I recommend anyone try out when in Katoomba :)

Nice old pub but sadly not much of a selection of beers...Food is good but kitchen closes early for weekends...

Food was acceptable, steaks cooked perfectly. The peppercorn sauce had a chemical aftertaste and wasn't eaten. The service was woeful, they need better front of house staff. The two girls at the bar mainly communicated in grunts and would look angry if anyone asked them a question. As a result people tended to leave rather quickly and go somewhere more friendly and accomodating to drink. Beautiful building though.

Again still the Best porterhouse Steak I've had Thankyou.

Literally the best place in town

An awesome place to catch up with family and open on a Monday night. The atmosphere of this old bank building was a real talking point, throw in the mix of great service and food we couldn’t have had a better night. We’d be looking forward to returning when next in the area. BTW the salmon was cooked to perfection it really topped off a great night.

Just what I need no frills tasty food. Had the pie and mash with gravy really enjoyed it. Great value too.

아이들과 저녁시간 마땅한 자리가 없었으나 1층바에 여자직원분이 자리를 만들어 주시면 안내해주셨어요. 일단 이 분 때문에 기분이 좋아졌어요. 음식은 괜찮았는데 스파게티에 소스가 조금 부족했네요.그래도 만족한 식사였어요^^

We had dinner here after touring the Blue Mountains. I ordered the steak (medium rare), my husband ordered beef and ale pie My husband loves my steak. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is warm when it's cold and rainy outside.

When we arrived we found the kitchen closed, we decided to buy food elsewhere and eat in the bargarden with a good beer. The service could be better.

블루마운틴투어 때 간 스테이크집인데 너무 좋았어요 저녁 시간이 정해져 있어서 고기가 늦게 나오면 어쩌나 했는데 엄청 빨리 나오고 고기도 맛있어요 고기 소스는 직원 추천으로 크리미 머쉬룸으로 했는데 존맛탱입니다 사이드 매쉬드 포테이토도 맛있었어요 카툼바에 화장실 없는 식당도 있는데 여기는 화장실도 깨끗합니다 직원분이 너무 친절하세요!

Heritage pub, very cosy, good selection of the usual pub style meals and friendly staff. It was the perfect ending after a days hiking on a beautiful winters day, we had mulled with a very yummy steak & ale pie.

We had an absolutely fantastic time! Enjoying live music paired with delicious food and excellent beers made for an unforgettable evening. The service was prompt, with our food arriving swiftly. The onion rings were incredibly crispy, and the lamb shank was so tender and flavorful that I could pull the meat apart with just a spoon. The combination of live music and great beer is always a winner. We reveled in beautiful melodies while engaging in delightful conversations with friends. Our time here in Katoomba was truly wonderful, and we cherished every moment.

The place so nice we came here twice (in three days!). How do I sum up what quickly came to be a life changing experience. Amazing food at great prices, yummy mulled wine, good beers available, staff that were the perfect level of interested (I.e not too much. I love that about a pub. Don’t pretend you want to be here). Will return every time we come to Katoomba!
