I was assaulted by 2 punk bounces for no reason attall reported to police did nothing about a rotten place if you ask me good luck to enybody watch your back

Went there for nostalgia reasons as I used to live in Glebe . The staff were friendly but the place was awful . Threadbare carpets, there doesn't appear to be any efptos facilties , nearly empty and looking like the pub had been allowed to be run down for at least a decade. Near the bottleshop were bare floors and no signs of any activities apart from the pokies . Sad compared to what it used to be .

Utter Dump with Hostile Staff The place is an untidy mess. Inside needs a lot of attention and care. Food is very mediocre, unappetizing and kinda the worst food we have had in a long while. The gent with the short gray hair and beard at the bar...super hostile, unfriendly and really just adding to the bad vibe. Avoid!

Had walked past this pub on a number of occasions, without ever going in. Enjoyed my time there. Person behind the bar had a jocular personality and had a passion for what he did. Great service. Well maintained inside. Wonderful time there.

Everything was way to salty, and u could feel the burn garlic in everything, was so grasy and fried food left u w a bitter favor in ur mouth defintly not coming again

Grotty little dump. I've had drinks in worse places, but this is somewhere I'll actively avoid. It got a second star because it's dog-friendly and had a couple of decent beers on tap

I only came here to try their laksa and, although it wasn't bad as such, it didn't taste good, in fact it had no flavour at all. I also asked for sambal to be added, but it was all to no avail. There was a vague creaminess to the soup, sort of. The noodles had the texture as if they'd been boiling for days. The Combination laksa didn't include ANY vegetables at all. Overall a very disappointing effort.

Gave us a complimentary soda water from tap with our Laksa. Nice gesture. We needed it so thank you, much appreciated!

The food is the only reason to come here. Authentic Asian flavours at a great price. The service is friendly enough but ‘pub’ atmosphere is definitely lacking. Looks like the new owners are renovating though - so we look forward to what the future holds!

Good food, cheap prices and good portion sizes. Would definitely come back again to eat.

Dine-in. Price is actually very good and portion is generous. Otherwise the pub itself, I couldn’t find any character. Would like to recommend to local.

Closed the bar way before the closure, the manager talked to us in a very unkind and repulsive way. Not recommend at all.

This delightful little pub sequestered in charming Glebe was the highlight of my afternoon! The leafy bistro area was a welcome surprise following my initial impression of the tired exterior. Following a staff recommendation, I settled on the fish tacos, and I was not disappointed! The deliciously zingy sauce cut through the buttery flavour of the fried fish, with the side of fries faultless in their pub style preparation. The staff’s warm and proactive service was casually delivered without the overbearing hovering you can sometimes encounter - which I deeply appreciated after a long flight!

Honestly 3.6 star is too low, I had really great service, plus their kitchen has reopened two months ago and is really good with a Thai influence. Dog friendly and kids friendly was really convenient.

Worst run pub in Sydney!! The owners rort their staff. Promise bonuses but don't deliver. O.ly are interested in pokies .

The bottle shop is expensive!! Bottle of wine advertised for $18.99 but at the register was $24.99. Cashier checked sign then said he can’t do anything about it and he is the “manager”. Left without the wine but googled what it normally cost and only $13 at other bottle shops.

Good rotating selection of crafts here. Often have the more unusual Little Creatures small batches. Outdoor area is ok, if it's not busy the kids can play a bit, but there are better places for them. Hey new paint job July 2022

Love this place for a gamble one of the only outdoor VIP places where you can actually turn up your volume and enjoy you WIN!! FREE SOFT DRINK IS ALWAYS A POSITIVE

Great pub in glebe friendly staff great alcohol selection and free soft drinks if playing gaming machines ... ALLWAYS lucky here .. GOOD LUCK .. REMEMBER ALLWAYS try and slip in a MAX bet if possible as you can be lucky

Worse pub ever prices change when they feel like it and expensive. Staff talk about locals, out loud to each other. Had to wait more than ten minutes to get served don’t know where the two staff members where location gets one star

Service is bad

Nice pub, but staff should be ashamed of themselves. I heard a job interview where the employer told her to “You better go back to your own country because your English is not good” She was also not born in Australia judging by her accent too. I will never go back and will be telling my friends to never go back. I should of said something, but just walked out.

There poker machines are so tight that you can never win. Really not fair i hope the owner gets whats coming to him.

Overcharging at the AB Hotel bottle shop. I was clearly told $12 but when I was checking my statement I was actually charged $13. The attendant took my card unnecessarily so he could tap it without me seeing the charge on the machine. This made me suspicious, so be sure you see the eftpos machine before tapping your card and get a receipt.

We stopped in for a drink, ladies on the door lovely most welcoming, however the barman couldn't make any drinks, plus no personality he was rude, I wouldn't recommend going to this pub ever

I love this place, but of a pokies den but if youre into that you're going to love their high jackpots!

I'd love to give 5stars.....but it sux when the local's get to reserve the gaming machines for more than 3minutes. Especially when the jackpot is high.

2 stars because the staff that were on were friendly. Only bar snacks available. As the restaurant is closed. BYO food is allowed because of this.

Hard to rate on a quiet night during covid, worth a visit

There's probably nowhere on Earth quite like the Ancient Britain Hotel. A collision of random beer, al fresco mosaic, Asian cuisine, sprawling pokiescape, international sport, bizarre furniture, and eclectic clientele. Positioned on one of the slowest intersections of Sydney, so why not stop of for a refreshment?

They know my drink n are always pleasant, can be a bit exe, esp' takeaways, pricing depends on time of day, who else is open, much more price conscious since Corona.

Not the place to be

Honestly every night I have here is the greatest. Only place to be. Except don’t come it’s great not having randoms. God bless the AB hotel.
