Awesome food, great service, reasonably priced. Definitely recommend the platters!!

The $75 platter is an embarrassment to this establishment. Dry, rubbery tasteless collection of what looked like Roast of the Day leftovers.

The Longhorn Smokehouse is nicely located along the water in the Wrest Point hotel in Hobart. Attacked the 350 gram New York cut Grim Porterhouse. Had to trim off some fat but otherwise a great steak. Friendly staff and a nice night out.

Food was great , girls were great /serving ,noticed how the head chef was paying attention to his side of the kitchen and his customers. Very professional and excellent at his job ( I’m self employed so game to do the same things in my roll ) had a good meal , good follow up “ steak was 110 p cent , all effort mush appreciated from us 👍

Longhorns Smoke house was very nice! Service was great also, they were fully booked out but managed to get us in early which was so lucky and the food and atmosphere was amazing! I had the 16hr smoked Cape grim brisket, it wasn't a huge meal but very tasty.

Awesome place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and Eye fillet steak is my choice along with the cornbread. Fast and efficient service and well priced. Highly recommend

Absolutely brilliant. Everything we ate was beyond our expectations. Service was great and staff were very obliging.

The food was faultless – the steak was cooked perfectly to our liking, and everything came out quickly and promptly. However, the service was the only downside. Perhaps it was because it was New Year's Eve, but the staff seemed unprepared and disorganized, often confusing each other. We didn’t receive cutlery when our mains arrived, so we had to grab some from another table’s setup. One of the staff members returned half an hour later with cutlery, only to realize we had already taken care of it. It became a bit of a laughing experience, but what stood out was that the manager didn’t seem to check in or ensure everything was running smoothly.

Portions are fine, but the value is very poor with cheap products. We had the 78pp set. Our waitress was very attentive, thank you!

Worst Ribs I have had in my life. The Burrum Heads Bowls Club do better, half the price & better tasting. Decided to do a Steak/Meat dinner & thought this would be the place in Hobart…. How wrong was I. Dry & tasteless hardly any meat on the ribs. Not offered a finger bowl or something to clean my fingers ended up using my water glass. Had to use my fingers as too tough to cut. My husband’s steak was almost as disappointing. Was going to try Revolving Restaurant but won’t be back.

OMG….10, 10, 10, 10000000! No words, whatever dish like we ate yeah no worries. Very yummy, delicious….

Some of the worst food I have eaten in Tasmania. First off the restaurant itself looks ok but doesn't fit Tasmania at all. The deviled eggs were runny and tasted very bad. The buffalo wings were pretty good but not amazing. The chips were really nice, so that was a plus. My partner ordered a mid rare steak which came way over cooked. I ordered the half rack or ribs which were tasteless, and the tangy bbq sauce was vile and I left most of the ribs on the plate. We didn't order desert or extra drinks as we just wanted to leave asap. We tried to talk to the waitress who clearly had a problem speaking English and we had to keep repeating ourselves over and over, she didn't understand when we tried to complain so we just paid and left. Such a disappointment,I woke up very ill this morning and have been feeling sick all day.

Reading the reviews, I had high hopes for Longhorn and being a smokehouse i was looking forward to some spicy pork ribs. We started with oysters which were absolutely delicious. My husband ordered a steak which he said was terrific and I know I should have ordered ½ rack but felt fairly confident that cooked over an open flame, they should have been outstanding, so I ordered the whole rack for $72. However when it was brought to the table, the 'BBQ Glazed Pork Ribs' had little plate appeal as the sauce was just poured on top of the ribs on the plate, so they were not 'glazed' on the grill at all. The pork should have been falling off the bone but was quite dry and the flavour was just from the added sauce. Everything else was very good and deserves the reviews but the ribs were truly disappointing.

One of the worst meals we have ever had in Australia , we went there 18 months ago approx and it wasn’t that good but we Like to give everyone a second chance , Never again , The Staff were Friendly , but the food was Just plain terrible and in the end we would have maybe eaten 5% of the main course and Left , They said the steak was Medium 🫣

Been here a few times now and last nights was the best by far. I think they’ve upped their game a bit after a few negative reviews. We didn’t know what to expect but it was all good! All of the staff looked happy and our waitress was very polite and attentive. Cocktails arrived quickly and the food service was fast but we didn’t feel rushed. The food itself was decent, partner had a burger and it was cooked perfectly as was my 350g scotch fillet. I thought the pricing was extremely reasonable, a lot cheaper than st. Albis which to be fair is a lot nicer food but for what you get here for the money can’t complain!

Been 5 times since being in Hobart. Staff are amazing, food presentation and taste 10/10 my go to is Trevella steak, devilled eggs and broccolini. Cocktails are yummy. One of my most favourite restaurants in Australia.

We might possibly have enjoyed the food here if we were able to actually order our own food. The fact that a party of 12 or more are forced to dine from a $75 per person platter menu with very little food and nothing good enough to enjoy is ridiculous. My partner and I were excited for our own smoked meals but after we payed a total of $150 and left on empty stomachs, we were more than disappointed. The service was one of the few things here that was actually good but that’s not enough to want us to come back here again.

Beef Brisket is absolutely fantastic

First time visit last night left me thoroughly impressed with Longhorn. Considering the quality of the food for the price it is very reasonable. All of my group loved their meals and none of us left wanting for anything. Cocktails were very nice too. We were very well looked after by our waiter , Suez. Top service from him. very helpful and informative regarding our meal. its great when people show interest in the food they serve too. very lovely little night out, will be going again.

We stayed at Wrest Point Casino in Hobart and first night we ate at Longhorn. Food was cooked to perfection (and I am extremely fussy especially with steak!) and service was impeccable. Thank you again

1 star for the good salad but the senior restaurant manager with the short blonde hair made this place not worth coming back. We dined in for 3 hours and all we had are salad and lots of fries. Probably the most fries i have eaten in my life waiting for our main course. Anyways, an hour went past and our main came completely burnt and bitter. It was inedible! Table came after us got main before us and we continue to waited for the manager so we can figure out a replacement. Manger came with “who is in charge?” “So you want more steak?”. Not a single “sorry” from her but only from the staff. They refused to admit that they burnt the steak and put it on us with “it was just overcooked” . Blaming on this special tomahawk normally takes 45’ for the long wait like we never eat tomahawk in our life LOL. To the owner: please i do not need another apologies and nothing about customer experience like all other replies you did. Just read this and change for the better! We are tourist but we pay and we are matter. Yes we might not coming back but remember, google reviews will be here for a lifetime!

The food and service at Longhorn is 5 star. I’ve eaten at the restaurant 4 times now. The 1st time 6 months ago wasn’t 5 star but they have improved dramatically. Definitely will be back..

I wish that I did check their reviews before visit so we would avoid leaving empty stomach and a $300+ bill. A ‘Karen’ kind of Manager was found here 👎 Hopefully owner could see this and really look into how to improve management!

Don’t come here if you’re expecting to have a good experience. Ordered a serving of tomahawk, 2 bottle of red for our group of 8 people plus many side dishes, side come out quickly as we were enjoying at first. After 50’ later, steak came out completely burnt and tasted bitter every bites. Steak was returned to kitchen and wait again for 20’ while staff were looking for the manager in the CANTEEN during service hours. Manager came and first thing she said was: “WHO IN CHARGE HERE?” “WE WILL GIVE YOU MORE FOOD, ISN’T IT WHAT YOU WANT?” …. Not a single word of apology. We ended up leaving the restaurant without ordering replacement because of her rude and unprofessional hospitality service. Paid full bill minus the charred tomahawk. I’ll leave a photo for readers to decide if you would eat this steak. If i don’t get reply for this review, understood that it was handled by the MANAGER.

Went with the share platter to get the best dining experience. Starters main and dessert platters were all thoroughly enjoyed. The only thing I would have liked to see was a bit less brisket and maybe add a steak or something similar. Will be back here to try a steak at some point down the track. Service was top notch also 👌

First time here and I’m thrilled with my experience! I had the $75 platter for two and a cherry cola (which I might add, I’m so sad I won’t be able to get on a daily basis) the food came out promptly and the service was fast and exceptional, I really enjoyed the Pork Shoulder and desserts! The atmosphere was beautiful! The lighting and music definitely set for a beautiful date night. I would like to give a special thanks to Isabel and Sheki for being beautiful people and hosts. Thank you LongHorn for a special evening and experience! (To Wrest Point Casino - you should give them all raises 😉😂) I will absolutely be back again with family and friends!

We had planned a meal but because 14 in our group. we had to have a set menu which was disappointing.....I understand why. but we didn't want most of what was brought out. But still a great night

The veggies were amazing but the pork ribs and brisket were pretty dry. There was no fat on the brisket and the ribs weren’t off the bone tender. Other than that, the burnt ends were okay. For the price, was expecting a bit more.

Really amazing food. We had the fillet steak, chicken and brownie for dessert and it was all really great. We usually go to a meat and win co in a city we are visiting on breaks, and this was as good if not better as a comparison.

It was an excellent dinner. We had our 2yr old with us and the staff were so friendly- providing colouring in for her, allowing us to enjoy a lovely dinner. The food was great and it is a very nice setting.

Both the food and the service was exceptional.

We visited on a Saturday night in April 2024. We arrived prior to 6pm and were greeted immediately and shown to our table. We ordered drinks and decided on the share platters for 4 people. The entrees arrived before the drinks, within 8-10 minutes. After we finished the entrees it would be another hour and 15 minutes before we got our main courses. At the 1 hour mark a server came to apologise for the delay. Meanwhile tables around us were who arrived well after we did were being attentively served. We had to ask for a second drink, with later tables now finished and departing. Dessert was lovely and arrived in relatively short order. Food great but service was woeful.

We had such a wonderful evening meal there that we went back again there another time at the end of our stay! 😁 It was enjoyable right from when we were greeted n seated by Ian, whose menu knowledge was excellent, to the waitress, ambience in the restaurant and great food.

The food was average at best. The service was abysmal, none of the wait staff had a clue what was going on, that's if you could one of them to attend to the table. Would definitely not recommend

Exceptional service and food. Walked in and greeted straight away with a smile. You can always tell when someone wants to be at work and the waiter (Ian) was outstanding. His knowledge of the menu and recommendations made me want to come back without tasting the food! The food came in a timely matter and was delicious. Highly recommend 🙏🏻🙌.

I recently visited here for celebrate my friend’s graduation and it exceeded all my expectations. The food was superb, with each bursting with flavour and beauty presented. Chef Philip was so friendly to us and invited us to ring the bell. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Came to Wrest Point Hotel for a work trip and wanted to try out some of their dining options. Opted for the Longhorn Smokehouse. At first glance - food was pricey as well as the drinks so I wasn't going to have any. I am very picky with my steaks but this steak was as good as steaks I have had at popular steakhouses back home in Melbourne. Tried their espresso & cumin sauce, was very different but very nice with the steak, I ended up buying some for home. Finished my dinner and waiter said they would bring me the dessert menu, but they forgot, no stress, place was getting quite busy. Didn't get dessert in the end. Would 100% recommend - don't come here if you're on a budget though.

First time experience, wide choice on the menu. Only downside for the share option, selection not available on main menu, and contradiction of minimum order for 2, but then you can only order for the whole table! The food was good nonetheless 😋 Staff and service was also onpar, warm and welcoming.

Great first time experience eating here. Brought our 2 year old son along and Staff were so polite and helpful, and the chef was so nice to. Staff were also accommodating to our needs with a young one. Food was amazing to top it off 🤌🏽

Food was great, had the platter with a taste of everything and it was amazing. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars was because I asked for a side of chips and the waiter talked me out of it as he said you won’t want them but I did and still do.

This is a nice gill restaurant. It was a great place to order a steak. However, the brisket was a little dry. Service is good and overall a nice experience, with a very nice waterfront view to enjoy while having dinner.

After reading so many poor reviews of this place I entered with an open mind. Service was attentive but not overbearing, young staff doing a good job and earning their stripes in a 'fancy establishment', great training ground for them. Char grilled squid was exactly that, I knew it came out of the ocean. Well done. My 189g, 4 mark steak was cooked to perfection and the temperature was commensurate with being properly rested, quite lovely. Green Wedge salad was a textural delight, crisp and crunchy with dressing and ecoutremonts that were outside the box, someone in the kitchen is doing a fine job. Setting is quite lovely ,great views across the river are uninterrupted, can't say that very often. $225 for two of us included a bottle of Holm Oak cab/merlot. Not an exceptional experience but when combined with the view, very pleasant indeed. Give it a try.

The food options in this restaurant is fantastic, me and my friends love the starters the most. Their steak was pretty for me, however, the one my friend had was quite too rare even we both asked for medium rare. Besides that, we love the rest, including nice staff members and cocktails.

Despite not having a reservation, the front desk staff warmly accommodated us. A special thanks to Chef Yousuf, he is not only a great chef but also attentive as he looked after our dining experience. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for its welcoming atmosphere, superb steaks, and exceptional service.

Loved every moment of our experience at Longhorn, from being seated by the very passionate maitre d who explained the menu and specials to the ever attentive and delightful Suez who served our meals and drinks and gave great cocktail recomendations. Had a great medium well porterhouse steak, the broccolini is nice, the grilled calamari is really nice served with puree, the cornbread served with smoke butter is well made and the service of Loren and Karl are amazing.. Longhorn Steakhouse have come back strong with Head Chef Philipp’s leadership. Well played. 👍👍👌👌👌👏👏👏 Looking forward to a great new year for this team.

The waitress messed up the order TWICE ! the food and the view was ok
