This little gem needs some appreciation. Such a great atmosphere, great food (quick service), a great family bistro with indoor play area for the kids.

Great food, great service but toilets need refurbishment badly.

I recently held a party in the pubs function room. The room and all facilities, including the food were fabulous and the staff were nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend this area to anyone wanting to host an event. 5 stars from me 💚

Monday night dinner. Lounge area very nicely done, spacious and comfortable. We ordered and partners meal arrived first, and when it started to cool, I told her to start eating while it was still warm. She had almost finished before my meal arrived. All I ordered was a caesar salad - 40 minutes. What I got was a bacon lettuce crouton salad with caeser dressing. No sign of egg or parmesan. Tasted OK, but it wasn't the same.

The Hideaway Bistro is recently refurbished and under new management Great value pub meals and plenty to keep the kids entertained Food came out quickly and they have some fantastic opening specials on Highly recommend checking it out next time you're looking for a decent pub feed

Its hard to go wrong with a $12 menu. We had the steak and the schnitzel. You could tell is was good quality produce and it was cooked well. Everything on the menu is $12 so its a cheap night out!

Cheap and tasty food. only $12 for any main meal. Fun game show on Wednesday nights.

Great lunch & outside eating area

Went for work team lunch. Group of 8. $12.00 menu. Can't go wrong. Steak was cooked great. Variety of meals ordered by my team and all very much enjoyed. We will be back.

Stopped in for the $12.00 lunch with friends and family. Nice piece of steak and generous serve of chips and salad. Will lunch there again

Nice pub ..the meals cheaps as and beautiful. Hubby said best steak sandwich he ever had .the staff fabulous as we also stayed and they were friendly and most helpful ..regular were lovely ..Saturday sausages on roll for everyone nice..we will be back 5 stars guys

pub of the century ,best food to wrap your laughing gear around ,menu ,service ,location and staff .the only place to go for a freat meal for lunch and dinner or just for a drink and watch the sports.great atmosphere to enjoy a meal .if your in penrith ,its a must go to .youve been to the rest ,now go to the best

Don't even remember it that's how bad it was

Ridiculous - they ask for drivers license and you need to be from over 30k away. Wouldn't accept passport. I don't drive. Recently stayed at my little local hotel and had no silly rules like this you just paid extra one dollar for room insurance. What the hell.

Went here on a hot day to get out of the heat and have lunch ! The hotel looks like it's been refurbished but forgot the toilets !! There is NO variety of beer choice in the lounge dining area,only the basic old fashioned one's.The same hotel group own a popular hotel just km's away and seem to have spent all the funds on it as this probably has less profits and always will have,while they class it 2nd rate ??? The only 2 stars are for the staff,very nice people sad they have to work in a forgotten hotel !!!

Had a little baby shower event on Sunday at Penrith Hotel, great service, food was brilliant and the area was perfect - great area for kids, the play area is not only toddler friendly but also for older kids. Will be making this a regular now for lunch/dinner!

Went there with the family and grandchildren. Nice food, good variety. The grandchildren love the indoor park.

The Bistro has just been taken over by new management. Has a lovely Kids playground and other amusement machines, eg, chocolate , car racing, and other claw machines. Good menu, reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and seating area.

The staff were lovely however the rooms were awful- television broken (staff already knew about it but not told on check in), fans didn't work and the showers were filthy. Rooms don't look like photo.

Had a lovely steak sandwich. The young man serving us at the bar was very friendly and helpful. Great customer service.

The accommodation in one word - “Putrid.” Should be shut down. The worst place ever. The room had an unpleasant smell, no hot water, no air conditioning, cockroaches everywhere, furniture old and needing repair. The only thing good was the staff.

The ladies serving were great, but I was very disappointed with the food. The mash had big cold lumps and the sausages were over cooked. Tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave. The food came out very quickly, which explains the quality. Might need a new cook.

As you walk through door to the stairwell which was filthy, up to the room, there were 2 door with signs saying they had to be shut at all times for security but the locks had been removed from the doors. As we opened the door to our room the smell was horrible. The fridge was sitting out on the floor, dirty old pedestal fan full of fluff, it had a tv but no remote so couldn’t use it. When we enquired about the remote the guy said there wouldn’t be one but I’ll shout you a beer. We had a block of wood to keep the window open to let air in. Had to pay a $20 deposit on the key, I don’t think anyone would want to take the key & come back & stay again even if they got it for free. On the plus side had dinner in the pub, staff were friendly & meals came out quickly & were really nice.

Went on a Friday night and they didn't have anything. No veggies, no salad and multiple things in the menu just weren't available. I get that supply chains are bad but they should have alternatives. Was hard to get a nutritious meal.. The menu was pretty boring too. Service was fine. Prices were cheap. Serving sizes were generous.

It is a lovely place to eat at. We catch up there at least once a month for our big family dinner/catch up. The play equipment is awesome for the kids. The meals are really good, two for one on Sunday nights and kids eat for free. Very family friendly.

This would be my local if I lived here... Great value food, small kid play area, family friendly and renovated bistro. Friendly staff. No hassle parking at the back unlike the other High St places.

Excellent customer service, very friendly and accomodating. Food came out fast and was enjoyed by all at only $13 a plate. Very family friendly. Kids love the play area and ate for free! Their meals included chips and a drink, and its the first time they all actually sat and finished their meals! They made a big mess as they are toddlers and the staff were still so friendly and understanding. If you love your classic pub grub and want somewhere for all age groups including little fussy and noisy eaters, this is it. We will definitely return time and again. Great value and overall experience. Definitely our new local and so glad we happened upon this gem. I highly recommend.

Book table days before.. arrived no table waiting no big deal plenty of tables available ... ordered my meal the special the steak medium to well had to send it back as there was still blood coming from it (and mine wasnt the only one) they offered to make me another so i waited, 15 min later i was told they had given my dinner to someone else by this time all other 5 people i was with had finished there dinner, i went with a group which we go out every wednesday for dinner and we will not be going back there again very disappointing

Went out for birthday drinks and dinner after one of our friends being asked to leave the security decided to tell the rest of our 10 plus guests to also leave just because.. spoke to the bar staff about the situation to which they were also incoherent about the situation. Profiling was the issue with this establishment.. if you want to have a fun night I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

This place is awesome! The most friendliest staff I've ever encountered. They really care about their customers. The food is top notch. My steak was cooked perfectly med rare. At $13 including a drink - I can't believe it. I wish I lived closer so I could come here regularly. A hidden gem indeed :)

It was ok. Pretty quiet in the middle of the day on a Monday, as to be expected. But that was good.

Lets be honest, no one expects this place to be five star, but its really gone down hill lately. The food is terrible, they overcharge for or don’t have the food Thats advertised, and some staff members are consistently rude, but they don’t wear name tags. Also, not their fault, but its really annoying to get an icy cocktail and not have any straws.
