Kmart Penrith

This Kmart wins with me because the manager there was the most loveliest and helpful person I’ve met. Especially towards the end of last year when Christmas was chaotic.

What a show kmart Penrith is. Closing registers to cut on costs. Make customers wait for hours just to self checkout. Lines all the way from one side of kmart to the other. Elderly having to wait standing so long for a pair of shoes. I wont be back in a hurry. Not that I count but not very nice.

Value for money is unbeatable.

Amelia helped me at the fitting rooms early last week. She was unbelievably helpful and kind, making the decision process for me so much easier. Despite being busy, she took the time to assist me with a smile, offering thoughtful advice and making sure I had everything I needed. Her bubbly and positive attitude made such a difference, and she remained professional the whole time. Huge props to Amelia for going above and beyond – her kindness and enthusiasm truly stood out!

Shop assistant not friendly and actually stupid. She wants me delete a photo which I took from Kmart warehouse. Then I show her I delete it but she said recently, I told her the system update, I can not find recently part and she can have a try. But she just rapidly say the warehouse is private😂😂 I understand that Kmart is a place full of inclusion and some not clever person are working for them👌

Wanting to send a big thank you to and positive feedback to the staff at kmart Nepean Square (Penrith) for their assistance today. I had a sudden medical issue at the self check out where I became incredibly dizzy, might headed and started a high fever. I dropped to the floor almost blacked out and could not get up. I also felt like I was going to vomit or pass out or both. At 8 months pregnant with a high risk pregnancy I was absolutely panicked. Two staff members Mustafa and Tony immediately came to my aid, called an ambulance, and stayed with me the entire 30 minute wait for the paramedics. They took turns going to keep a look out for the ambulance and provided me with literally anything I needed to make me feel comfortable. They brought me an electric fan to help cool me when my temperature would not drop and personally fanned me with whatever they could find in the vicinity to keep air flow on me. They constantly checked in with me and provided me with numerous ice packs. They also took down my details and called me later in the afternoon to check on me and make sure I was doing ok. They were kind, calm, attentive, and reassuring, offering me literally anything I needed from the store to help me in my time of need. They honestly went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, and when I offered to return the fan as I was leaving they let me keep it, which I thought was lovely. I hope they can be recognised for their efforts and I am very thankful they were there.

There is a lady named Sebene at the service desk helped me with wrapping my birthday gift today. She is lovely and kind.

Stock everywhere. Stock opened and food stuck on products. Unruly, just look at the roof. Workers clearly don't want to be there, none to be seen and even so unwilling to be helpful.

Never have anything in stock.

You would think a store as big as this and in summer mind you, would sell adult beach towels, but no just a pitiful range of thin cheap kids towels and hoodies, yep not ONE adult beach towel. VERY disappointing.

Kmart Penrith is an excellent shopping destination with a great selection of affordable products. The store is well-organized, making it easy to find what you need, from homewares to clothing and toys. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. It’s a convenient and reliable spot for quality shopping at great prices. Highly recommend!

Everytime i go to the penrith store, doesn't matter what time of day or night, there is stuff EVERYWHERE! Big stock trolleys blocking aisles and items on the floor. And despite this it's the most under stocked store compared to others.

Kmart Penrith’s Christmas stock is on point this year! I’m especially loving those new cups with the back covering—such a good idea in this heat. The store’s always got what I need, and it’s super affordable too. Makes last-minute Chrissy shopping so much easier. Great job, Kmart team—keep it up!

Miserable old khuntz at the service desk

Lived in Penrith 4 years and kmart still has stock everywhere blocking isle's and yet there is no one at the checkout's, what do they do all day and all night?

I went on a rare Kmart tip to buy a charger, I specifically made sure to check this store’s stock online right before travelling down to the store. I waited for upwards of 10 minutes in a line at the service desk at the back of the shop to be told by an employee that although the item was in stock it was likely still on a pallet out the back. The worker was polite and attempted to help me find an alternative however there weren’t any. This isn’t that employees fault, however it is highly annoying to have travelled by car, and waited in line only to leave empty handed. I would not have wasted my time if the website was more clear about whether an item is actually available for purchase rather than just in stock yet potentially unattainable. I recommend that you always make a phone call if you’re not sure whether the store will actually have what you require.

The worst kmart in western Syd. Everything says in stock as per usual but is never in stock. Do not waste your time in going here. Take the extra time and drive to mt druitt. Always in stock.

A glorified 2 dollar shop!

i was looking for directions to the change rooms as i bumped into a beautiful girl the goes by the name isla she led me to the change rooms she had such a positive attatude very good job !!!!!!!!!!

Some of the senior staff who have obviously been there for years, show no enthusiasm look unkept, they look annoyed when you ask them a question & they just don’t smile. There are cages everywhere staff everywhere yet the shelves are always very empty. I had lost my receipt for an exchange, the girl at the front told me they no longer do exchanges or give credit notes without receipts. I asked at the customer service desk to be told exactly the same thing, I pointed out that I had work for Kmart before in another state and I am aware that she can look up the receipt from my bank statement, date and time and transaction number, she would not. I asked the rude customer service lady what I was meant to do with this top, I told her that I had picked up the hanger in my size and when I got home there was a size on there that didn’t match the hanger and was four times my size. In a smart arse way, the senior sales lady told me I should’ve kept the receipt, I give what I get, so I reply to her in the same tone she use with me that staff should be doing their job properly, that they should be staying on top of it with hangers and clothing items on the racks, just as I had to when I worked for Kmart. I turned around and found a lady and called out to her asked her if she would like this top it was a size 18 I explain to her in front of the shabby looking sales lady behind the counter that they would not give me an even exchange all I wanted was the same item in my size, I have just started working after moving interstate having had a bad accident that put me out of work for six months no income I needed this top to get back into the workforce. I gave the the nice customer the top and told the sales lady to make sure she could get out the door with it without a receipt because I was giving it to her and it was a paid item, I had checked in at the front door when I entered the store, the sales lady radio the front door. I think it is disgusting, taking advantage of people when everyone is struggling to make ends meet. Shame on you Kmart. Shame on you. Today I was at this store, it was impossible to move around the unattended cages full of stock banked up in the isles making it impossible to shop. I ask the management, would it not be sensible to take out cage at a time & attend to it rather than dump them everywhere? You are a 24hr store, there is no valid excuse for this. How is this OH & S? How is this not getting done late at night when no one is around? I was shopping for Christmas decorations, I could not get in the isle!!!! See todays photos of unattended cages .

Breha was very helpful in getting me a steamer for my wifes clothing she looked in store room for eventually got me one very happy with my customer service from this girl

Rude and racist security officers in Kmart!

Ordered a photo (instant) took about 30 minutes to print from the checkout, shouldn’t have waited this long!! Very disappointed

Yesterday i went there to buy Quilt but by mistake I bought Mattress topper. Next morning i went there to request for exchange. But they denied. Package not even opened.

This store has terrible service. No staff are ever around and there is always stocking carts everywhere blocking aisles and it’s very inaccessible for mobility aid users or the elderly. The service desk people are rude and make you feel worthless. They never have anything that you need despite it being listed as available on the website. Every time I go in there for something specific they never have it. Every. Damn. Time.

Items are really well priced and Kmart have a wide arrange of products which would cater for everyone.

lady who served me was really rude. definetly did not want to be there. i get working in customer service sucks but she said like two things to me and was just on her phone the entire time. going to mt druitt from now on.

The staff at the Penrith store appear to have a superiority complex. I refuse to engage with such behaviour.

Very helpful staff and amazing customer service. All the things were very organised and couldn't expect a better service. I don't know their names unfortunately but they were the night shift staff.

My wife got hooked on the hype and initial 'bargain' reviews of Kmarts rice cooker. Item lasted 4 uses repeatedly spewing water out of top and on 4th use completely died. At the end of the day, what do you expect from a $14 electical appliance ! I'm just glad it didnt catch on fire or anything worse. Not even worth the time to return. Just straight in the bin!

Penrith never has any stock compared to a lot of the other stores always need to order online.. it’s a mess and shelves empty

Was in Kmart the other week had a belt I bought & showed the lady at the exit my receipt with my belt who appeared to be FJ indien & she was rude would not let me exit ! With out touching me she was looking around me & said do you have anything else of Kmart's to the point I had to put both my arms out as she didn't back away & showed my receipt once again then the lady let me exit.

The staff wont serve you but direct you to self checkout as in their words 'it is only the self checkout available'. Even though they are standing at a register.

Every staff member this morning was very stressed. What is happening with management treatment toward their people???? Please note: I do not know any staff personally, this is an unbiased observation.

Going down hill. Disorganised and a total mess. Maybe hire more staff to clean it up.

I had the girl at the CS Counter Brittany (heavy fringe blonde hair, she had no name badge so most likely lied about her name). That staff member was hostile from the start of the interaction and looking for anyway she could say no to a return and take her bad day out on me by being unreasonable. I complained to manager Laura (brown and blue hair) She was equally as hostile and rude. Definitely wouldn't come here again.

Filthy place with lazy workers specifically the young girls. Just overall disgusting and unprofessional behaviour.

Bought some very well priced cotton tshirts. The place was busy but there were plenty of bargins around.

Fine for a usual in person shopping trip but don’t ever place a Click & Collect at this store, it never gets fulfilled. They refund so it’s ok but it’s not worth waiting for the email saying they don’t have what you’re looking for.

Good morning, The email address I was provided for the manager was incorrect. My name is Megan I contacted you this morning in regard to the appalling customer service I experienced at your front check out at 6:30-6:35 this morning. I am a new mum dealing with all the hormonal changes, sleep deprivation. I have anxiety going into crowded places hence why I came early. Where I was harassed, victimised and accused of stealing a dummy because a packet of three was missing one. Where a female staff member asked if I stole a dummy to which I replied no I didn’t steal your dummy. Her reply was are you sure a staff member told me you did. I said why would I steal your dummy. The female Staff member walked around to look at my baby which I found very rude, I don’t appreciate strangers getting in my daughter’s space. The female staff member kept asking me that I was sure I didn’t steal the dummy and that she would go and watch the camera. I said go and watch the camera then. When I finally got away from the harassment I said as I walked out thank you for accusing me of being a thief. On my way out that female staff member was laughing with another staff member in regards to my question about why I would still a dummy. Just because I have a baby doesn’t mean I am a thief! I felt victimised because I had a baby, that suddenly made me a thief because you were missing a dummy from a packet and I was in your store. I went in your store to buy my husband a pair of thongs because his last pair broke yesterday and surprise him and to buy my daughter a bottle to drink water from. Never did I think that a simple trip to Kmart would end the way it did. I would like to follow up on what the actions were after my call and what will happen from now on. Kind regards Megan.

Really disappointed with the way Kmart stores have been overrun but stock trolleys. If you can’t afford a warehouse don’t order so much. How can you sell stock on shelves if you can’t even access it due to the amount of trolleys located around the store. Embarrassing is all I can say!

no book section, no snack section, rubbish lego section, its difficult to find anything and is kind of a mess. layout is terrible and unintuitive. there might have been a book section and snack section but would never have been able to find it because its so hard to navigate. u can't see anything cause the shelves are too tall. plus its wayy too busy at 9.30pm at night. parking spots are too narrow and no one here knows how to park not like Coles. take some notes from Coles its very neat and easy to navigate

They NEVER answer their phones. Doesn’t matter what department you try, or what time of day. Have been trying to contact them over several days. Very poor customer service.

Management needs to take control of this store, there are too many staff all over the floor getting in the road of customers and covering the stock with those big trolleys, and there are 3 people on the registers with a que across the shop.

Just shopped at Kmart Penrith (October 26th 2023, 9.30am ish) and do not recommend if you are in a rush. It is well known that a staff member stands at the front entrance of the store and checks receipts as you exit. I had my receipt ready to go to show the lady, however she was having a good old chit chat with another lady. I wasn’t going to stand around and wait. There were other customers behind me also and I have things to do. As soon as I left the store and was in the main shopping centre, she turned around and demanded she check my receipt so I flashed it at her. She then proceeded to tell me, no I must return back into the store for her to check it and my bag (which was full because I had spent $100 there), so I told her don’t bother checking it then. She told me she “had” to check it so I needed to come back inside. I told her no, I tried to do the right thing and show the receipt as we all know the procedure too well, but she was talking to someone so I wasn’t going to interrupt nor stop my day (which is already jam packed with things I need to get done) to show a stupid receipt when I know I paid for everything. If stores and big corporations like this can’t trust customers to use self serve and basically do a staff members job for them in a cost saving measure, then maybe they need to reconsider how they operate and bring back manned check outs. It’s utterly disgusting that I’m made to feel like a criminal for simply doing my shopping and going about my day.

I was shopping here with my friend and we were browsing through Beauty and Cosmetics. We noticed how beautifully set up this section was and have never seen it this clean at any other store. We would like to commend Tracy for her diligence and commitment to service. Thank you Kmart, particularly to staff like Tracy, who make our experience a pleasant one.

I went to kmart today and I bought $10 robux at self service and before I bought it the worker there just kept pressing the buttons and did not even look at what he was pressing. So when I got home and typed the code in the code wasn't working I tried like 9 times to type the code in and still didn't work.such poor service and workers now

Cheap products but useful

Went to buy some things from a few sections this morning and over and over the phone keeps ringing over the loudspeaker like no-one wants to pick it up. Got a headache and left buying nothing.

Need to train your customer service staff at the checkout. Seems like nobody wants to serve customers. An older lady in particular behind the counter refused to serve and tells you to go around the automated checkout if you wanted to be served. Appalling

Closed. Attempted to walk in at 4:15am. One door was locked and there was a fence with a sign that read (this gate is locked for a reason, do not enter)

It's a Kmart. Seems like they don't do stock too often and the place is a mess, but sometimes you need a HDMI cable and a wholesale portion of gummy lollies at 2AM, and this Kmart is there for you.

Great Place. Go Their All Of The Time

Extremely poor customer service, started with extremely limited change rooms and no change room attendant to be seen while people were lined up, so I tried the items on in the store. Then when I went to check out there was not a single register open in the entire store, I was forced to scan my products and scanner kept malfunctioning, attendant got annoyed repeatedly resetting the machine for almost every single item. Rude, lazy, unhelpful staff and store had a general abandoned appearance with stock all over the floor.

I was giving birth in the changing rooms, and a worker named Charlise came and delivered my son! Then as I was walking out with my child, ninjas started attacking me and Charlise beat them all up! Will be returning soon.

Very poor customer service never seen before in any other kmart store. Dialled the number multiple times to find out stock availability but no one picked the phone. Very bad service

The Manager Zoe who answered the phone is absolutely amazing. She helped me to place a hold even though it was 10:40pm. Thank you Zoe, you should be the CEO of Kmart. <3

It is a very busy shopping centre as there are too many different products, which is good when you want to shop.
