First visit for a long time since Reno. Different vibe, not to sure if it has the wow factor. Was seated in the ‘quiet’ area that I asked for, this was not the case, we even requested if the live music could be turned down a bit, but this was not addressed. Had to ask where our meals were after 3/4 hour. 7 meals came out, sorry but was stunned with the prawn and risotto meal - lack of prawns, unappealing meal I have ever seen, not recommended, Salad consisted of gourmet lettuce, 1/2 cherry tomato and very fine slithers of carrot (sorry didn’t like that at all). The Pie and Leek was tasty, a separate bowl with mash and gravy came with it - very odd. We also had to ask for salt and pepper (is this the new thing not putting on the table). 1 open dish like container of salt and pepper placed down on our table of 7, asked for another. Suggested to the young waitress that this is very unhygienic with everyone having to place their fingers in - she replied ‘would you like a spoon’ not so politely. You would have thought after Covid, this would be the last thing you would place on a table. Sorry Tradies, but you’re not looking after everyone’s health!!! Lastly we all ment down stairs, fully stocked bar - closed!! For 2 hours we had to walk up and down stairs just to purchase a drink.

Having enjoyed many wonderful experiences at Gymea Tradies Club and consistently receiving exceptional customer service from the staff, I was truly shocked and disappointed by the treatment my 90-year-old mother, cousin (71), and sister-in-law (71) received last Thursday—not from the front desk staff, who were fantastic as always, but from a manager dressed in a blue blazer. Upon arrival, my sister-in-law was told she could not enter the club because she was wearing thongs. While we respect dress codes, she was not wearing casual thongs, but rather a stylish wedge sandal with an elevated sole—a reasonable and commonly accepted form of footwear. Instead of addressing the situation with professionalism and respect, this manager responded in a forceful and rude manner, instructing her to vacate the premises entirely. Even when she offered to sit in the reception area while my mother and cousin continued inside, the manager refused and demanded that she leave immediately. The lack of courtesy and empathy, particularly towards an elderly family member, was deeply concerning and completely unnecessary. I have always appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff at Gymea Tradies Club, and it is disappointing to see such poor customer service from a management representative. A hospitality venue thrives on respecting and valuing customers, and I sincerely hope the club addresses this incident to prevent future experiences like this. A Lesson in Customer Service 101 for the Manager in the Blue Blazer: Understand your dress code and Intent Behind Dress Codes – Rules should be enforced with common sense and discretion. A fashionable, elevated sandal is not the same as a casual thong, and the decision to remove a guest over this interpretation was excessive and unreasonable. Empathy & Professionalism – Hospitality management is about creating a welcoming environment. Speaking in a rude, forceful tone, particularly towards elderly guests, diminishes the club's reputation and creates negative experiences. Situational Judgment & Flexibility – Instead of escalating the situation, a reasonable compromise (such as allowing my sister-in-law to wait in the reception area) could have diffused the situation gracefully. The Power of Respect – Customers return to establishments where they feel respected and valued. A rigid and unkind approach leads to lost patrons and negative reviews. I urge the management to address this issue internally to ensure all patrons receive the respect and hospitality that Gymea Tradies Club is known for.

Hi Been high on my radar for quite some time staying local for the next week and decided to venture out did not disappoint from the moment u walked in to the time u left although I personally felt that it may hv been slightly over staffed but…. hospitality is so unpredictable so I totes get why and TBH i prefer to be over staffed then under as the service I received was amazing as was the food and the coffee a place I will definitely come back to well done #teamtradies

The new folk restaurant offers a great lunch time special

Great club for all demographics. I don't gamble, however the food and service are exemplary.

Great service, atmosphere and live music.

Nice setting, good menu selection and handy children's play area

Great club with good food

Food is rubbish

Great lunch.

Nice location, clean, friendly staff. The food isn't great, seem to going for a 'high end' dining experience but mixed with a 'club' menu. Can't swap sides in the main course, you get what the menu serves it with, no flexibility. Also, no thongs. My mum was turned away for the wrong shoes first visit, so they sent is to Gymea Bowls next door who were fine with thongs, it was also heaving with customers & had better food.

Food is mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price. Poker machines upstairs for revenue. That’s it. This is based on 3 visits

Nice and cozy place for lunch and dinner.

Great place, great good, awesome staff

Lunched today with friend visiting from Breakfast Point. Had Salmon Salad and Lamb Savlaki. Both lovely. Staff amazing.

Hi everyone, the family has been a frequent dinner at Tradies over the past 20 + years and we have always been delighted by the food and quality even during the renos. Our experience in early Jan 25 can only be described as very disappointing. We order 3 different dishes to try out the Folk food and to say it was average was a understatement. I'm sad to say it could be our last time dinning there based on food offering and price. Come on Tradies the old food of 2023 was 100% better

having lunch with friends 🧡 friendly staffs and nice food with nice price below 15!!

I am absolutely saddened and disappointed with the actions of The Club last night . My heavily pregnant daughter in-law and Son dressed up and headed out for dinner at the restaurant only to be stopped and not allowed access regarding footwear. !!! For anyone that knows when it comes to last days of pregnancy on hot summer days the feet can get very puffy and swollen and unfortunately not by choice the only footwear that fitted was her thongs . Not her choice , just all that fitted on her feet . To have her in tears days out of giving birth is sad. Shame on you Tradies Gymea to not make allowances in situations like this .

Lovely place with a classy bistro. Came here as a large family group and the staff expertly took our order, observed every change, and magically got all 20+ meals out at the same time. All staff were friendly and hospitable. Woodfired pizzas were delicious!! No vegan options besides chips, so I just removed the cheese. Wines also great!

It is my local club. The food and atmosphere were great, but the service was a bit lacking in attention to detail.

Excellent atmosphere and the conference room was excellent was very pleased with venue and service Bathroom was superb!!!

Nice, classy clean club

Went to Folk by Albi. The decor is beautiful, really well done. The staff are professional and friendly. The waiter gave us an enthusiastic, but perhaps overly long explanation of the menu. We ordered 'Feast by Albi' which is a set menu. It was good, in that it enabled us to try a variety of dishes. However, as a carnivore, I felt a little let down, in that the quantity of meat wasn't quite enough for me. The Cherry Burrata was a curious dish - difficult to eat because it was like a thin liquid, served on a flat plate. I asked the waitress if we are supposed to dip the thin crackers in it. She said yes, but when I tried, the crackers would snap. Part of the reason why I opted for the Feast set menu, was because I just couldn't quite find what I was looking for on the a la carte menu. Firstly, there wasn't any chicken wings for entree - a personal favourite of mine. Also, I was looking for a chicken main meal with veges (and for top points, it would have rice as well). But instead they have chicken skewers and the ubiquitous chicken schnizel (which I try to avoid). The prices of the mains start at $29, but with limited options there, you could easily end up paying $34, $39, or above. The pricing does seem high for a club setting. I wouldn't dare say that it is overpriced, because I'm sure that the menu has been carefully designed to strike a balance between customer satisfaction and profitability. However, these prices would cause me to look at what is available at neighboring restaurants, rather than choose the club as a default option. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience. However it was spoiled towards the end of the night by a guy who decided to sit near us and talk loudly on the phone with a jarring accent. And then a lady decided to sit down at the piano and play quite badly, and as she continued for what seemed like an unbearably long time, I wondered why the staff didn't ask her to move away from it. It is a beautiful club with great staff and good food. Would love to give more stars, but just looking for slightly better value within a club setting.

I have to highly commend the Tradies staff and management for such a fantastic and welcoming experience throughout our 2024 Christmas Day lunch, which was a Christmas Feast at the Tradies. There were two sessions 11.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm, we attend the former. Right from the front door all staff were friendly, accommodating, organised and professional. The staff did not stop ensuring everyone was well looked after and that the whole day ran smoothly. We were in front of the kitchen and watching the staff was amazing to see professionalism and team work in action. The Feast was amazing. Well done and thank you !

Good food and drinks

It was very good

The last time we came to Tradies we weren’t impressed with our meals and once again you failed to deliver. We used to be regulars here, but a combination of exorbitant prices and poor food quality means it will be a long time before we darken your door step again. Instead of spending all that money on the decor you maybe should’ve used it on hiring decent catering staff.

Sunday afternoon entertainment with the Honeymakers big band & great music in the Endeavour room. Watch out for them in the new year.

Had an awesome dinner and dessert.

Meals were delicious and well priced for the quality. Highly recommend.

Too expensive for classy meals ,not shire popular any more

I was so in love with the cocktail I've tried my first visit!!! So delicate and balanced taste! Unfortunately my second visit wasn't so lucky. I ordered the same cocktail but look at the photos absolutely different one! It was like I drink pure lime. Not a cocktail just lime. Girl at the bar didn't even know what I ordered. So disappointing. Everything and everyone else was very nice though

Attended function. Friendly staff, good service

Located at 57 Manchester Road, Gymea, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 Even though this is a very nice looking club (I believe they have had a recent refurbishment), the enjoyment of being here was largely outweighed by the exorbitant prices. I had a chicken schnitzel burger and fries. Now if you are not fortunate enough to have a membership card, it would have cost $31, with the card it was $26. This is so expensive. I feel prices like this are going to drive people away from a club I thought was meant to cater to people in the working class and their budget. My friend had a grilled fish and chips from the specials, now I know you have to expect smaller portion sizes but this was tiny. Three mouth fulls if he was lucky. Also, they wanted to charge us $11.00 for an ice cream, so expensive. Saying this, my burger was very tasty 😋 and I didn’t hear anyone from my group saying they didn’t like their food. It was just the prices and portion sizes which were an issue. The club is easy to get around and very accessible for people with wheelchairs 🦼 and mobility difficulties. This included people in my group. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It’s a shame that this club has pushed out the average income person through their pricing because it is a lovely and welcoming place. For this reason, I don’t know if I would return and I don’t know if I will recommend. 🤷‍♀️

Had a chicken burger that Was totally overwhelmed by rhe amount of avocado spread all over. Couldn't pick up the burger without the avocado covering my hands

Good food, beautiful new atmosphere with the new decor. Very warm and relaxing. Staff are amazing. Thank you x

Super club experience

Yet again, disappointing restaurant experience, the place is empty, ordered 40 minutes ago, they bring out the kids meals then 15 minutes later everyone else gets their meals! Same every bloody time

Hard to beat Mike's Grill when you're hungry, great food with generous portions. Open club style dining with some balcony seating. Very popular!

Dinner at Folk tonight, fantastic, quality food and service. Fresh food with great variety of flavours to suit everyone

New restaurant coming soon. Good place for a birthday or get together with friends and family. Also has function rooms for wakes, committee meetings and ward ceremony’s

Tradies is our place to stop either when we are on our way to Sydney or on the way back. We are also members. Tradies is a beautiful relaxing venue with great food and attractive setting.

Bring back Willows. The new restaurant is no where near as good as the old one. Food portions are small, chips undercooked.

Hi, My husband and I visited this club today for a work lunch. Firstly, I must highly commend Kim and Jake. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with joy as if we were coming to their home. They clearly show how much they love their jobs and are dedicated to the customers. The food was fabulous. I come from an Italian background and it was some of the best food I've had. Just like Italy. Simple ingredients and bursting with flavour. On the way out, I enquired about events and Kim and Jake personally showed us the event areas. I do not live close but because of them I will be returning, I became a member . There should be more Jakes and Kims in this world. Well done!

I was there for all of 10 minutes to meet someone. I had a latte coffee and some fun interaction with the staff one who was Thai and we spoke a few words in Thai.

Food is amazing , club is modern, freindly staff great atmosphere, highly recommend.

Bistro supposed to be closed (for renovation with a later opening date) so we did not go but later found out it was open (early). Perhaps update your website next time?

Nice and quiet dining area, separated from sport bar and pool/billiard room. Food were yum and affordable..

I was quite disappointed with my recent visit. There were only two vegetarian meal options, which felt very limited. On top of that, the kids' club, which used to be a highlight, has been downgraded to just a couple of rugs and a TV. This really isn't what I expected. The two stars are for the friendly staff, but unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Surprised at all the glowing reviews we obviously went on an off day. Came for Saturday lunch to celebrate a birthday. Started with two forks on our table that were dirty and had cheese baked into them, when we told the staff they just pointed to the tray of clean cutlery in the bar and said we could swap them there. The pasta servings were barely enough for a kids meal and priced at $25+. My pesto prawn nduja was nice but the prawns were frozen and cut into pieces and for the price, was bitterly disappointing. Dads steak sandwich was burnt under the grill on the inside, he just ate the steak without fuss though and left the bread. Everything just seemed to be made without care or attention to detail, and the restaurant was not busy. Mum and dad had eaten here previously and loved it, this time even they were disappointed. Wouldn't tell people not to go here, as I said looking at everyone else's reviews we possibly just got unlucky, but I also don't think I'll bother going back in a hurry.

Always great experience.

Great night at Tradies in Folk. Excellent food and plenty of it! Highly recommend

Food wasnt very good before the new name of Albis and it isnt very good after. Lots of waiting.... waiting to get into the front door, to sign up, to wait to be seated, to go to the bar, to order food, oh boy, a very long wait... too much waiting. and the food was average.. I think they have all the same staff but only changed the name..

Awful! Is an understatement , Pumpkin Arincini balls six small balls came out, paid $26.00.expensive for balls the size of scorched almonds, Gnocchi beef cheek, Lamb & Pork ragyu no meat could be seen, cold and awful and overpriced, presentation poor. Complained offered replacement. Picked pesto pasta with Prawns, omg never had chopped prawns in a pasta dish. Ate the dish as starving by this time, very average, no cheese and garnish very small portions and repeated on me. Terrible will never return and I'm a member Staff apologetic and run off there feet taking food back from complaints. beeflaLambporkmRagyu

We had dinner at the new Albi's. It was reasonably priced given the high quality of the food. The proximity of the kids area meant we could relax and enjoy our meal while the little ones watched a movie on the other side of the windows. Overall really delicious meal and the best night out at dinner we had in ages.

I was really shocked when we had our meals , first the portion's are very small second prices are expensive also waiters rushing you to leave as soon as you finish eating for next table customers and that was rude . We will never go back and waist our money in this place again . We actually want our old tradies to be back

one meal for a table of six was brought out after everyone else had finished their meal, food was not well prepared in general, desserts were unappealing, hard and rubbery and served cold.

We had a nice lunch this week in the new bistro area with a couple colleagues. We were meeting up on business, the place was perfect for us,the food was served very quickly and was great, (steak sandwiches and chips and drinks)All the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs.Pleasure to meet Dennis McHugh as well, thanks to the team and we’ll drop in again soon.

Great food and service. Staff were very friendly, a most enjoyable lunch 😋

The food was absolutely delicious and fantastic

I am appalled at the speed of my food arriving, my fish which was a smaller portioned kids meal came out 1 hour late, a colleague’s lasagna came out after 45 mins. This place needs to get a grip. The use of a gaming pc to run a still png in the kids area is absurd, maybe they should’ve used that money to reduce wait times. I am flabbergasted at the unacceptable service, the confrontational nature of the wait staff manager has shaken me to the core. 😳😳😤😤

3 of us had dinner last Friday night. We expected ‘Albi Tavern’ type good. It couldn’t have been further from the truth. I’m sure all 3 (different) meals were straight out of a packet. To top that off, the food was just warm and the portions were very small. Prices were very expensive for what we got. No way will we return

I was a loyal customer of Albi’s Taverna at Cronulla and was not disappointed with their new restaurant at the Tradies. I went with a group of 8 for the lunch dining. The menu, meals and service were great and enjoyed by all. The only negative was the meal sizes, although adequate, are probably a little expensive considering it’s in a club.

The refurbishment has modernised the club. Food & service was excellent.

This place is a gem! The food is delicious, the customer service is top-notch, and the cleanliness is spot on. A definite must-visit for a fantastic dining experience! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED ‼️🔥

Wonderful meal. We had a friend visiting and took her with us for lunch. We also go there every Sunday after Mass for morning tea. Good food, great staff.

The food was delicious
