Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club

We booked the Heritage Room recently for a Celebration of Life service. We were very happy with our choice. The staff responded promptly to our initial query, we paid a site visit and met with Mikaela who would be our one point of contact for the day. The room was set up beautifully, the food was great, and all the team were a pleasure to deal with. Everything ran smoothly and according to plan which is exactly what you need for an event like this (in particular). Thank you to Mikaela and her team.

A very busy place but the food and service were pretty good.

Today and for a majority of the poker event that’s been going on this week I’ve seen over a dozen men come into the RSL without taking off their hats off. They’ve shown little to no respect for servicemen and servicewomen and should have been told to remove their hats. Please show some respect to veterans, thank you

Went here for an event. Staff weren't aware of what the patrons had paid for with their ticket & harassed us for more money. We were shocked. Bread rolls were rock hard & guests were squished at tables with no personal space. Some couldn't even fit in their assigned place. Very unprofessional, not well planned or organised. When approached, a female employee was alright, but her male manager was very rude, & wasn't seeking resolution for the upset customer. She was visibly upset as well, as he blamed the customer for the situation that resulted from their lack of professionalism or networking with the event organisers. Really inappropriate, esp at $170.00 a ticket.

Nice spot. The food was okay, but they have slots in there as well, so you get to have a little fun while waiting for your drinks.

It's a nice club to go around with plenty of facilities and activities.

Lovely RSL club!

Had Christmas dinner there. Superb seafood spread, with salads, vegetables, roast meats and dessert table that went. forever. Very good value for money.

Large gaming area with a variety of machines, including poker machines and digital roulette. Friendly and helpful staff, Clean and well-maintained facilities, Good food and drinks options Overall, I had a positive experience at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club. The gaming area is large and well-equipped, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good time with friends

The food at the bistro is awful. My wife had the salmon poke bowl was like they never cooked the rice and tasted disgusting. My burger was really dry. And the kids meal wasn't any better.

This place is slowly getting trendier.

Nice club

Its been a very long time ago since come back to Canterbury League Club. The staff are very friendly. My friends and myself attended the Club of NSW function The food are fantastic. The service are great. Very clean club. Will come back for sure.

Great location, nice atmosphere and lots of parking

The Heritage Room downstairs is really big and private, not far from the lift and restrooms. Our guests really loved the selection of dishes they served. Thank Michelle for her professional organizing who provided us everything we need; includes their friendly staff, especially Matthew and Bill. We’ll use them again!

Club still applies the 5km entry rule for non-members despite it being abolished by the NSW Government. Wants you to join or won’t let you in. Door staff unfriendly and rude to the point of argumentative. It’s an RSL club, not some exclusive high-end venue. You’d think they would want people to come in and spend some money especially those in the area.

Friendly sign-in staff. Food tasty and affordable. Good to see a lowcarb beer on tap.

Nice club with decent food

ABSOLUTLY SHOCKING EXPERIENCE. I have been a member for many years, had a break, then decide to invite my neice for lunch on Sunday. Delightful young staff , made us welcome, Carmine always delightful, service just great. FOOD, DREADFUL, JUST DREADFUL, fish get better at cheap TAKE AWAY. Steak no flavour , and stale salad. Screaning screaming screaming children running up and down the room, poot piano player .SHOCKING , surely there must be some RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLE. DISGRACE RSL.

My local always has a pleasant atmosphere BJ at the front desk is always welcoming and cheery . With a wide range of food types to choose from but not necessarily cheap for a RSL.Plenty of Big Screens to watch your preferred sport on.

Nice club with great dinning or quick snacks. Very big gaming area and big lounge with a big screen for sport. We had a meal in the bistro, one of three eating areas. Very happy with our meal and great service. Plenty of covered parking.

Ordered medium flank steak but came well done and chewy, better luck next time. served with ice cold béarnaise sauce..

Friendly staff!

Limited choice ofish, thevusual frozen fare, cakes ok Friendly ladies behind counter, Asian choices also. Many events/shows with plenty parking & good service. If u r not fussy abt ur meals, good venue, central, renovated.

The restaurant manager really needs to step up. The staff are doing their best, but the experience was disappointing. My friend and I ordered a platter, and after waiting over 30 minutes, only half the food was fresh and hot (tenders and pork belly bites), while the nachos and chicken wings were stone cold. When it came to dessert, the issue got worse. How can you sell a cake that’s not even listed in your system (Mars Bar cake) and have no way to manually enter the price? I was initially charged $7.80 for a more expensive New York cheese cake because the Mars Bar cake wasn’t on the till. After pointing it out, another staff member had to step in and correct it, charging $6.90 for some other cake instead. I understand it was a busy night, but the overall experience was far from acceptable.

The refurbishment of the sports lounge and entrance is a very welcome area . The bar food menu has a large variety.

We had a work event here which was executed with exceptional organization and professionalism. The staff were notably accommodating, and the quality of the food was outstanding. The extensive range of vegetarian options was particularly impressive. Overall, we had a very good experience!

Great food. Look forward to returning to try the Chinese restaurant.

If I could put 0 stars I would for the park eatery inside the rsl. Came here to first time and they stuffed our order up so bad and showed little to no care. Came again tonight and gave them a 2nd chance and they just have the worst service. Always forgetting something and when asked for it they take forever

My parents are patrons of this RSL club, so they wanted to treat myself and my husband to lunch. Surprisingly the food was very good albeit a little cold. The portions, taste and value are honestly better than most RSL clubs. The schnitzel was cooked perfectly, fish was flaky and the curry of the day was very flavoursome. The fries unfortunately were cold and the wedges were mediocre at best. Food presentation is quite sloppy, and the salad was merely a few morsels of salad leaves and onions. For dessert we had a variety of cakes, carrot, blueberry cheesecake, passionfruit cheesecake, tiramisu and black forest. They were all delicious. My personal favourite was the passionfruit cheesecake. Staff were friendly, atmosphere was pleasant. As for the gambling aspect, I cannot comment as I did not gamble here. Overall I would recommend this RSL for a quick lunch or dinner with your parents. Note to chef, presentation and side dishes really do make a difference. My rating would have been a 4 possibly a 5 star had the plating, food temperature and sides been better. The foundations are all there, it just needs to be better executed.

The manager was a rude arrogant man that was peed off because 6 of us were seated at a 10 seater table. He was talking about us to the staff as if we couldn’t hear or other he didn’t care, made our dining experience very uncomfortable & the food was not up to standard either. I think this manager has past his use by date to treat paying customers the way he did

Best place to watch international sporting events, boxing, soccer, ufc etc ....

Worst place for the pokies and roulette they fix all the machines if you want to lose go there

Criminal behaviour. Went in to watch the soccer at 5am. We were not allowed to leave the club for 45minutes between 6.30 & 7.15. NO ANNOUNCEMENT from management. I was held against my will while they counted their money from the pokies and tried to appear closed from the outside. Unable to attend to an emergency at home. Absolutely crazy stuff unheard of. Will never return

Nice environment. Just don’t forget to bring ID if want to go in. Unless met someone that willingly to let you signing manually.

You guys might need more staff on the Park bar on a Saturday night. Billy makes great cocktails but they take a while and are in some demand. Can’t imagine how stressed the bar staff get with a lineup!

The Park has opened great atmosphere to watch sport and to eat with family and friends.

Food here is a bit ordinary. Requests to cook food to personal requirements are completely ignored. Not much to choose from.

Tonight my family decided to go for dinner here for the first time. First contact was a male who was rude to me. I went to sign in, I told him that I was not a member of this club, he asked me if I was a member for another club, I told him yes, I got the card out and told him I’m a member at the ebp club. He screamed out ‘what’s ebp ‘several times, I felt so embarrassed and then he told me he can’t help me and grabbed someone else’s licence. I felt like I was pushed to the side, he didn’t want to assist me. I was disgusted and walked to the lady who assisted me to log in with no issues. I was then approached by the people who witnessed this asking if I’m okay as I was in complete shock. I’m a young woman in my 20s and have never received this type of embarrassment. I felt offended and shocked that I was treated poorly. On a positive note the food was great. Would I go back! absolutely not, no one should be treated like this especially when they are doing the right thing. Managers please note: The person at the front desk is the first point of contact, they should be the ones who make a good first impression. Might want to re consider who’s at the front!

First time I visited here, and I had to join as I lived in Dulwich Hill. The staff member who assisted me in signing up for membership has so hospitable and friendly! The beers were very cheap as well 🤗

Not quaint and fun, just bad

Went today for lobster 🦞 deal, so disappointed, 3 ordered and sent back, so dry with no sign of Mornay sauce. Told if sent us new ones, would be the same.....had to reorder from menu, front staff offered apologies, but none from kitchen staff. Don't waste your time, a real shocker for what was meant to be a treat. 🥺🤷 Happy Easter kitchen staff in Hive restaurant....☹️

Dirty machines, not enough Ashtrays and small paper cups were being used. Toilets were filthy and the whole place is just a massive waste of potential

We visited this club to play charity housie/bingo and to have lunch. Great little club with clean beer lines
