Ordered rare steak but it came out Medium. Too hungry to send it back. The steak was also super salty.

The tavern was my local years ago. Great to be back. Lovely renovations. Great food. Great service. Great people and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Big portions the fairly cheap price. Fast, prompt service. Nothing special yet nothing bad about the atmosphere though as it's a pub.

Went there lunch and it did not disappoint. Got the chicken parmi (not Parma) it was massive and I can eat. I struggled. Well cooked and tasted delicious. Chips crispy, salad fresh. Wife’s fish and chips was also delicious. Pub is nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. Has pub plus so you can get cheap schooners (if it’s beer of the month) good amount of pokie machines. Plenty of seating around. Plenty of parking. Only thing is I don’t think there is anything for kids to do there. Thanks for having us. Will be back there soon.

I rarely write a review. But this is a must. 1st time visit here and not dissapointed at all. We had the rump steak and fish and chip. Surely will come back. Thanks chef🥰. Satisfied dinner.😋

Excellent food and service. Staff friendly and attentive. Food has picked up a lot in the past few years, the reviews saying it’s inedible are rubbish. Come on a Saturday afternoon and the chef on duty is a master.

The Tav is where it’s at. Great food, they had the cricket on and amazing service. The family and I had a great time. The place is managed very well 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 Complements to the chef as well!

Our meal was delicious, chicken schnitzel, chips and salad. Very fresh and tasty. The service was very quick and the staff very attentive and polite. We will be back for sure. Thank you for a great meal and night out.

I want to congratulate Mel on a fantastic Christmas day lunch. The staff were absolutely excellent especially Kristy and Ella who specifically looked after me, as I'm on crutches and without me even asking they brought the food to me which I think is fantastic service. Not only was the service fantastic but the food itself was also absolutely delicious. Once again I have to congratulate all of the staff including the kitchen staff on making Christmas a very special day for the customers.

I really liked the steaks and veg at this place. Sizeable portion too. Took me bad to the good old pub days, but this was quality. Good job people!!!!

Recently cut down on kids meals, no drinks or ice cream anymore.

There were cockroaches everywhere—on the floor, walls, and even on the dining table. We didn’t even feel like eating the food we ordered.

Wouldn't go back due to pests had 2 cockroaches crawl across 2 different tables we moved thinking it was just cause we were near a door to outside garden but after moving

I was very disappointed with my visit yesterday. The food was not worth the $100 we spent. We ordered two medium rare steaks, but both came out medium to well done and were over-seasoned with pepper. The salad dressing tasted unpleasant and didn’t belong on the salad at all. The mushroom sauce tasted artificial, like it came from a powdered mix. We also had to wait a long time for drinks due to a lack of servers. Overall, it was a waste of money, and I definitely won’t be coming back.

Food was pretty good, not many veggie options but had a nice salad. It was quiet for a Friday night so not a lot of atmosphere but I can imagine in summer out in the garden it will be lovely.

CHT is old and tired. Whoever owns this place needs to invest more into it. The food was below average, especially the chips. They were tasteless. The staff were nice and friendly enough.

My first time ever coming to the Castle Hill Tavern. I came with my family and it was a lovely evening out. My kids asked when we could come back again. The food was great, the staff were friendly. We just really enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere. We will be back and I’m now looking into the function rooms for both private and corporate events.

If you have accumulated quite a few tickets for the 3rd and final meat tray raffle and wonder 10-12 minutes after 7pm when the draw should have been announced but nothing has happened and ask a staff member when the draw will be but tells me it has been „drawn“ when it actually never happened and later see a possible boyfriend or whatever favourite person walked out of the pub with the meat tray then I personally wonder why, what is going on here. I’d like to see upper management to have a closer look at their employees way of actions in this regard. Very disappointing to say the least. 25.9.24

Gone down hill. Vomit in the beer garden the next day after the state of origin. Not nice when you are trying to eat. To many crows as well.Yuck.

We had a paint n sip event at the Castlehill Tavern and it was fabulous ! I would recomend highly , staff and food were excellent .I look forward to doing more events there

We are from out of the area and stopped by to get a quick meal last night. The food was terrible. All three of us had something different and we all left most of our meals uneaten. The fish was dry and over cooked it was all batter with no fish or flavour. My husbands chicken was overcooked and could barely get a knife through it. The other meal was almost cold when it was received and obviously the salad had been made hours before hand as it was soggy and limp. We should of realised it would be so bad when the place was almost empty thats normally a good sign. We spent just under a $100 and then had to stop again for a decent feed somewhere else.

Stopped here by chance and Thankful we did. My sister and I ordered the rump...OMG...probably one of the BEST steaks I've had, it was cooked to pure perfection and just melted in the mouth. My nephew had a Parmi and said it was also the best he has had....what an awesome meal!!! The young lady behind the bar was delightful, the Tavern was clean, tidy with a fresh feel but a beautiful old school charm. Recommended 100%

The Chicken Schnitzel that I had was surprisingly good. The Schnitty was perfectly fried with a nice crunchy coating, and the salad had a good dressing as well. Service was friendly & reasonably quick. The decor of the place is a bit dated, which is probably the main drawback of this place. Still, it’s a good place if you’re looking for a competitively priced, quick & easy pub meal with a bevvy.

Ordered two Tuesday specials. One without salad one with . Both came wth salad with rotten tomatoes. Cold gravy chips were served at slightly below room temperature.. schnitzel was ok but have had better… sorry but will not be returning

Staff were friendly, professional & very attentive - asking often if there was anything more that we needed. Menu had a good range of reasonably priced meals that catered for everyone in our group. All meals were cooked well with a good amount of sides. Would highly recommend.

This is a regular dinner haunt for a group of friends, the staff are friendly, food is good and well priced.

Food was good and the house wine. Chicken wings and chips were 👍🏽 Only downside was the smell of cigarette smoke lingering.

The portion sizes here are quite large and would easily fill you up, and from the numerous times I’ve been here the quality of the food has always been good and wait times are generally about 10-15 minutes, so pretty good.

Can't comment on the food as it never arrived after an hour of waiting. Was happy to wait as it was busy, however it got annoying when people who arrived and ordered well after we did got their meals and finished and still our two single meals hadn't been made. Finally said something after 50 minutes to be told the kitchen never received our order (the bar received our money) and so do we wanna keep waiting or a refund which we took the refund. Watched food sit there for 5-10 minutes before being taken to tables. Multiple people without their food. A terrible experience.

Came in on a cold windy night and was served by a gentleman with fantastic long hair, he was very courteous and funny 10/10 would definitely come again.

The Lunch specials at the Castle Hill Tavern are amazing and sooooo delicious. The Chef's are very professional and the food quality for a Pub Lunch are oustanding.

Decent local. Was in the sports bar, has everything you need to catch the game.

Thursday Night Trivia is such an incredible time! Definitely wish they would make more room for it since it’s grown so big - they kind of just have us all mixed in with people who are eating dinner and not doing trivia and I’m sure it’s not great for them either…

First time. Great food and good service (if a little slow as it was not busy). We had the chicken BLT which was great - well worth the $15. Will remember this one next we are in the area.
