They used to have a very special menu, but unfortunately it was changed recently….. they removed carrot salad and pearl risotto which were my always favourites, they were just delicious.

We had dinner on 26 th June at Tasman, it was our daughter's tenth birthday. The team was kind enough to fulfill our requirement for a birthday cake ( cookies and cream flavour). The food was delicious (I had a mushroom risotto) and the ambience was great. A special thanks to the team for making her birthday so special.

Very tasty food with good presentation. The pork scotch is one of the best pork cuts I've had in quite some time. Juicy and tender with a sweet and earthy jus. The vegetables with it were next level (I could have had those for a meal alone). Oyster Kilpatrick and miso butter were full of flavour with nice firm and plump oysters. Clam chowder was tasty with with salmon, white fish and clams (yum). Pork belly was nice and crunchy in mild broth. Staff were very friendly, professional and efficient.

Never think much of hotel restaurants but the Tasman disproves that. Fantastic thorough menu that blows other hotels close by out of the water. Staff were very good. Second night we are there, much busier night with obviously a wait for meals coming out, so given a bread and olive plate. Brilliant service as we were told about the delays. Food quality very good. Didn’t eat here at breakfast but can assume also very good.

Had buffet breakfast daily at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. They also catered morning tea and afternoon tea as well as lunches for us on the work trip and it’s some of the best hotel food I’ve eaten. A pumpkin tart was particularly memorable from afternoon tea and I also thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian lasagne from lunch.

We had a wonderful night out celebrating our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The staff went above and beyond what was expected of them. They made my parents feel extremely special. Food and service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out.

Last minute walk-in and they accommodated. Very lovely staff, just nice people. Our waitress, Tasnim was great and kindly helped us decide on food choices due to major food delimmas! 😀 All courses were really good, my favourite was the pork belly entree which was just perfect. Recommend the soup of the day also which was roasted vegetable, full of flavour and just good. Overall great experience.

Wunderbares Hotel mit Restaurant gleich am Hafen. Was für ein Glück! Die Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Frühstück startete bereits bestens, sogar mit frischem selbst schonend gepressten Saft und vielem mehr. Sogar einen Soja Flat White konnte ich genießen als Veganer. Zum Abendessen gibt es leckere Kartoffelgnocchi und gerösteter Brokkolini auf der Speisekarte. Beide waren köstlich. Zum Dessert wird aktuell Wassermelone - & Erdbeer-Rosen-Sorbet mit Rhabarbar, Turkish Delight, Granatapfel & Pistaziofloss angeboten. Ob als Hotelgast oder einfach nur so, der Weg hierher lohnt sich auf alle Fälle.

Great food with limited menu options. Saturday night service was slow. About an hour from ordering to getting food. Have been here before and not had that problem.

This is by far the best restaurant experience we had in all of Hobart!! Jessie, our server, was so kind and had good recommendations!! Hubby said it was the best steak he has ever had. I had the entree size pork belly which was very generous in size and tasted lovely!! That jus was 10/10 good!! Made the meal delish! 😋 My dessert was a favourite on the menu and I could see why!! The watermelon, strawberry and Rose sorbet was the best sorbet I've ever had. The texture of the thin candy floss made the experience exciting and different. I was all for it!! Sweet and enjoyable. Hubby enjoyed his chocolate/hazelnut slice. All in all a fantastic and yummy dinner date and well priced. Thank you again Tasman Restaurant and our lovely server Jessie. We had a great time! 👍 😍

We have been going to Restaurant Tasman for many years now and it never fails to impress. For a special occasion we ordered a 3 coarse dinner, warm sourdough with olives and balsamic was lovey. For main we ordered wild clover lamb rump, it was cooked perfectly,very tender and delicious (bloody good). For dessert we had passionfruit brulee which was to die for, nice tangy sweet and very re-refreshing. As always, food, service, view and ambiance at Restaurant Tasman are fantastic. The prices are fair with the quality of food they deliver, nothing seems to be any issue , very accommodating and friendly. Give it a go, won't be disappointed. Wine was good and reasonable as well. Thanks guys!.

That restaurant is so overrated, even a microwave would be embarrassed to be associated with the culinary crimes they commit in their kitchen.

Food delivered was 45 mins late, two tiny piece of really old lamb pieces which i couldn’t even slice through. It was an utter disappointment. The lamb dish was $A40 and it was not even delivered to style. My lamb was chewy and had zero flavor. Not worth the price. Service was somewhat satisfactory.

I'm usually sceptical about eating at the hotel restaurants, but we made a last minute decision and our group of 8 had dinner here today. Every dish was great, presentation amazing, very tasty and fresh King Fish was superb, seafood chowder very tasty and generous portion for an entree dish, scallops were nice too. For main we had duck which was delicious, eye fillets cooked to perfection . We were really full and although desserts looked inviting we decided to skip them . Great service, everyone was very friendly and accommodating all our requests. Thank you guys ! Nice atmosphere too ! Certainly will recommend to give it a go !

Friends and I were staying at the hotel and booked in on the first night. The restaurant was pretty quiet, nice and peaceful atmosphere with a couple young families. We were served by a very polite and quietly friendly waitress who was knowledgeable about the wine and menu. She misheard my friends soup choice, however was very quick to apologise and correct the dish. I ordered the salmon and the potato galette and this meals stands as my favourite during our 5 day Hobart trip. The salmon was beautifully cooked with crispy skin, not dry at all and well seasoned. It came with a delicious pea puree sauce. The potato galette was my favourite, perfectly salty and crunchy with so many layers. I was skeptical at first, thinking the restaurant would be a generic hotel restaurant, however the chef and staff exceeded my expectations by far. Would definitely recommend!

The Tasman Hotel in Albert truly made me feel at home, something I haven’t experienced in a hotel for a long time. They met all my expectations, providing comfort and exceptional service. Plus, I must mention, they served the best breakfast I’ve had in ages!

Waitstaff friendly and warm. The food! Wow...please follow below instructions if you order the duck, salmon or lamb dishes. - take yourselves some binoculars or a magnifying 🔎 to spot your food. I ordered the salmon dish partly because I love squash that apparently came with it. Tiniest piece of Sqaush ever...in the history of Squash! Thought it was a piece of Garlic it was that minute! My partner ordered the Duck. WOW, - When it arrived (after 1 hr waiting - we were looking out into the night sky worried that the other half of the duck had flown off her plate!) - Secondly, take yourselves some hunting tools & night vision goggles and a or your favourite movie on a laptop to watch!!! We could have tracked and hunted our own food...gutted and slow-cooked it all ourselves! - Thirdly, - ummm...isn't it obvious?Take some Squash seeds to sow and grow in the soil outside while you wait for your partner who'll be out hunting the lamb! Guarantee yourself some proper yummy giant servings!!""

Appalling. Expensive low quality breakfast buffet. Food not replenished in time and when it finally comes out, there is a frenzy. Never again!

On a chilly winters morning I decided to have breakfast at the Tasman Restaurant. A hot buffet breakfast is $35.00 with tea or coffee. A freshly made omlette was delicious as were the hot side dishes. A large selection of both hot and cold dishes are available including cereal, fresh fruit & yoghurt, a juicer to make your favourite morning drink, pastries and pikelets with berry coulis and vanilla cream. Lovely service from the team on duty. Definitely worth a visit for a leisurely breakfast overlooking the Hobart waterfront.

My wife and i spent our first night of our honeymoon out to dinner at Tasman Restaurant. We had an amazing dining experience and enjoyed the meals so much!! The food was just absolutely amazing! The staff was so friendly, professional and helpful, giving us some suggestions on places to go after dinner, that made our first night even better. 10/10 would recommend this place for dinner! And thank you so much.

Beautiful service and decent serving size

We stayed at the Grand Chancellor Hotel and booked breakfast for 3 days ; booked a table next to the window to enjoy the view for all 3 days. 1st day - Someone had breakfast on our behalf. Window table was reserved for VIPs, so we were moved to another table. Food was ok, staffs was great. 2nd day - All went well. 3rd day - The omelette chef was not to the standard. He forgot to add many ingredients we requested to the omelette, he put very little ingredients on the omelette and it was undercooked. Drinks was to be ordered at the table. I waited for over 5 minutes, nobody turned up to take the order. A group of 4 people turned up to the restaurant, their drinks order was taken instantly. Another group of 2 people turned up, again their drinks order was taken instantly; while I'm still waiting, raising my hand to get someone's attention. Went to the bar twice and I was told someone would come to the table shortly. Unfortunately. We were done eating. Had to go back to the bar a 3rd time, that's when the supervisor Emma apologised and sent someone straight away. Once the drinks was brought to the table, it was messy (see picture attached). The supervisor brought another HC later. It was a bad experience on the day Later during the day, we were called by the F&B manager in regards to this issue. It was a nice gesture and we really appreciate the effort. Vegetarian option is very slim at the restaurant. Although it is mentioned free, the HC and lattes are not. Machined drinks are chargeable. Well done to Emma and Prassan for making things better for us. Really appreciate

We went there for the buffet breakfast and the food was fantastic. We went with our full family, and it was great as there was something there that catered to everyone (including fussy children). The service from waitstaff was excellent as they truly went above and beyond to help us. My only minor complaint is that the kitchen didn't keep up with the demand for the buffet as a few times we would be waiting several minutes for food to be refilled. In saying that, it was a busy day with Mother's Day.

We had buffet breakfast at our final stay at the Grand Chancellor hotel. There's quite a huge selection of fresh fruit, cooked food , freshest bread, cured smoked bacon, smoked salmon tea, coffee , selection of freshly squeeze juice , muesli, on offer. You have a choice of full buffet breakfast or continental breakfast buffet only. We both had full buffet breakfast. Our seating table also had the best view of the marina. You also can request the chef to freshly prepared cooked eggs either scrambled, poached or fried. Overall, we had an amazing breakfast experience at The Tasman Restaurant. Staff are very attentive and helpful. 💯💯💯

We had a New Year's Dinner, Set Menu, Food was nicely cooked and presented. Serving Staff was very helpful and friendly especially Brat . Good Job Brat , it's good to see a staff member who loves his job, very friendly and helpful . It made our night at the Tasman very enjoyable.

Had the breakfast buffet. On the higher priced side but worth the money for the variety of options and amazing view over constitution dock! Do not have to be a guest of the hotel to eat here either. A regular visitor here. The staff are amazing and friendly and the omelette made for me this morning was the best I have had in a long time!

Was kind of ok but for the money the food was on the average side. For example the chicken breast was tough and dry.

Service is great! First bite of my pasta and I died. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sides came in big portions. Would come back here for sure.

Breakfast buffet was fresh and there was a lot of variety. My kids loved the fresh juice and pancakes . Dinner was superb too, very friendly staff. Special thanks to the staff for organising a beautiful birthday cake and surprise for my daughter!

Amazing place. Delicious meals. The gnocchi was fantastic, as is the octopus and sourdough bread. We also loved the garlic mushrooms as a side. Reasonably priced food and drinks for the quality you get. Great service and ambience.

A fantastic meal with great portions.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The service was top notch and food was the best we had during our stay in Hobart. It’s a “fine dining” experience while still being family friendly, with the added bonus of its premium location and harbour views. The cheese soufflé and the gnocchi were the best we’ve ever had, plus the wine menu was impressive. Thank you for a memorable experience. We will definitely eat here again next time we visit!

Good breakfast, but the coffee was average

Excellent food, very tasty using some local food, gluten free options, lovely views, quiet so you can talk together. Will dine there again. The seafood chowder is amazing and their chicken breast apple salad very good. Friendly helpful staff. Pricing a bit expensive.

Had a beautiful celebration with my partner birthday in Tasman restaurant. The staffs are fabulous and sweet, absolutely enjoyed.
