Food was nice and not crowded for a Saturday lunch just before Christmas

The food was really good here a few years ago. Now the food is not great, steak is tough and almost not edable. Meals are expensive and extrealy below average.

It's great to finally have a caring, friendly chap driving the courtesy bus. It hasn't been a real courteous experience before, except on Sundays.

Very disappointed, I do NOT recommend. After deciding what my partner and I would like to eat, we go to order and it turns out the price is 20% more than what it says on the menu. We ended up paying $90 for 2 very shitty meals. The menu is very misleading as there is no “member and non member” price. It seems I’m not the only one who got confused from this before. The tacos were dry and disgusting, the steak was overcooked, the veggies were bland and came with no presentation (for the price we paid). We couldn’t even finish the meals, so we wanted to take it home for our dogs, but to top it all off they charged 60c for the takeaway container!! What a joke.

Attended Club Menai last weekend with friends and ordered Singapore noodles with king prawns. What came was a large amount of noodles, about 6 prawns, maybe 2 chicken tenderloins cut up, no greens, no flavour or sauce. Basically unpalatable- way too many noodles, not enough prawns & all for $36 but price on board about order section said $29 which was member price. Suggestions - use Hokuen noodles instead, add a few more prawns, some bok choy & some sauce do not dry - fantastic meal. Have to say very disappointed.

Ordered fisherman’s basket. Fish smelled and tasted off. Inedible. Food served lukewarm. Terrible experience. Mentioned it to staff when they collected my uneaten plate from table and there was very poor response and no follow up.

Had Christmas lunch here yesterday and was not happy with the food. As I am allergic to shellfish, I was given the ploughman's plate as entree. The 2 type of cheese was just ok, 2 small slices of green apple, crackers and toast were stale. No cheese stick, no replacement for the chicken terraine (they had been notified by myself earlier in the month that I don't eat chicken or turkey). My main was a large heap of ham in gravy, a few beans, about a dessertspoon of cauliflower, no roasted potatos and the roast pumpkin was just a small spoonful of mashed pumpkin. The only decent thing was the dessert, lemon meringue tart with sorbet and berries. For $99 it was a rip off. My other dinner companion's meals were just ok except my husband's 2 tiny pieces of roast" potato were in fact not roasted but were cold and looked and tasted like boiled potatoes that were leftovers from the night before."

Easy parking, good layout and the restaurant has an array of bistro food. Enjoyed the Countdown Celebration Show in the function centre.

Food and atmosphere is A1!

Absolutely terrible. Went there to eat dinner because my son was at a party at Underworld. To start, the drinks are over priced. What they charge for a beer is absolute robbery. The food is worse. $32 for a steak sandwich! The menu said 28 but when I went to pay, it was point out that it says on the menu that all prices are member prices. What venue only displays member prices? Every other menu has M and either N or G. The bread on the steak sandwich was so hard and dry that when I took a bite, it cracked and crumbled into pieces. The taste was ok. Not great though and most certainly not worth $32. I was on my own and before I had finished my food, I decided to get another beer. I laid the cutlery on the plate as you would if you were still eating. I left the napkins nearly next to the plate and not scrunched up on the plate as you would if you were finished. I went to get a beer. Was gone for no more that a couple of minutes only to return to my table were 4 people were sitting at it. My food was gone. I told the people sitting at my table that it was table and they didn't care nor offer it back to me. Not only did I lose my table, I lost the rest of my food too. I cannot recommend this place. Its over priced. Food is not great at all. Eat elsewhere cheaper and better.

Actually was pleasantly surprised how good the pizza was!!! Eas really good and the rest of the food looked good too! Would definitely go back!!!

The food was disgusting The tbone and ribs were totally not edible The chicken has no flavour And all of us had upset stomachs after dinner. None of the Steaks were cooked to a proper medium, like we asked for I wouldn't go back there until there is a new chef They did offer us free desert but it was hardly worth it Don't waste your money

Update - unable to order from table. Easy to park, large meal servings. Ability to order from your table and still receive member discount however not all specials were not on the app. Visited on a Saturday lunch, not many people in Bistro, however did have to chase a staff member in order to get our table cleared. Women's toilet a bit grubby

1st time, great club with attentive staff, great areas that cater for all & great food options. Look forward to going back.

Good food well priced

Establishment one note at best suited for older boomer demographic, focused on gambling revenue not at all family focused my kid was chased out of every area,.food didnt match the expense underseaoned,uninspired boring and poorly cooked.disappointing experience.

Went for a dinner on a busy show night. The staff did a wonderful job considering how busy it was. Food was great. Loved the slow cooked lamb shoulder. We'll be back again.

The food in the bistro has gone downhill massively, as can been seen by other recent reviews. Ordered the surf & turf and left 80% of it as the steaks are clearly frozen, rubbery and tasteless! The calamari that came with it was also tasteless, even the chips were terrible. You’re in trouble when the garlic bread is the highlight of the dinner.

We used to go to Club Menai every week with the family but stopped going because the food is always off. The club itself is great. Wish they would get a good kitchen again. Tried again last night when I took the family for Elvis Show. Very disappointed again. Had to wait ages for the food, then 3 out of 5 meals were bad. My wife's fish tacos were cold (must have just been left sitting there), the 2 special medium rare eye fillets were both well done and not even eye fillet but seemed like rump, very tough and chewy plus each very small pieces and chips all burnt up. Always embarrassed to take people there for dinner. Every time there is something bad. But club itself is great and service is always good

My parents have dragged me to Menai Club for 20 years, this place is hit and miss. The Bistro changes owners often which means the menu and quality of the food changes too. Currently, the food is pretty bad (sorry Menai Club). I ordered one of the saddest chicken parmigiana's I've seen and paid $29 for it which feels like a lot based on the quality, it came burnt, with a stingy amount of toppings and a wilted side salad that no one on the table wanted to eat . Let's just say the food tastes as good as it looks 🫣 they will also charge you 20% more than the prices displayed on the menu if you are not a club member. There is nothing there for kids, except high chairs. Security WILL tell you and your kids to sit down and stop playing, even in the outdoor area. Don't get me wrong, the place is OK - average small local club that looks nice and modern. If you have kids, bring table based activities to entertain them 🖍

Ordered the 900gm pork riblets for $37 .. Very fatty and not very pleasant to eat. Shame , I should have got the chicken schnitzel.

What has happened to the food. Visited on 6th June 24 and discovered a new and interesting menu compared to a few weeks earlier. The menu looked OK but the food was bloody awful. How can you get a chicken parma completely wrong. The cheese tasted like plastic, the ham had no flavour at all, then there was a dash of coles home brand tomato sauce between the schnitzel and the ham. The schnitzel was also soggy, which is very strange considering that it came out of a deep fryer. As for the chips, well they were nothing but grease, absolutely disgusting. The food here was disgusting and not worthy of its overpriced expense. Most of it was left on the table and not eaten. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere if you want a meal that is at least average. I suppose this explains why the club was so empty compared to normal, nobody likes their food.

Such a lovely club - in area for a 4 hours only - virtually stumbled across it - great for a drink to watch footy - great atmosphere . Food & service above standards for similar venues …… Well done to Mgt

Been coming to the club on and off for years, however for the past few years food has been a little hit and miss, but nothing to complain about as the atmosphere and service in the club is always great. Tonight the schnitzel dish I was served was the worst dish I’ve had in any establishment in years. Paid $6 for a creamy garlic sauce and prawns topping and it missed the schnitzel by a few cm with the prawns being over cooked and sauce very bland, served onto top of a mound of chips that were stale and lukewarm, no salad or vegetables were present, and the chicken had separated from the schnitzel coating, also the mushroom sauce was a gravy. For $31 I’d expect a lot more care to be taken with the food, on a positive note the garlic bread and other dishes ordered were good!

Came with my Mother in Law, Wife and Kids for Mothers Day. Was busier than I had ever seen but the line to order moved swiftly and the food came out in no time at all given the amount of people and everyone enjoyed it so big ticks all around

Good food but maybe need to rethink the conditions on the birthday vouchers. I orders 2x tapas and sharing dishes that were $21 each and 1 X main meal dish that was $20 and couldn’t use my voucher because I didn’t order 2 X main meals, even thought the main was cheaper than the share plates. Maybe just say minimum order $40

The grilled barramundi was delightful, moist and just melted off your fork! ...But the rest of my experience was awful. The veggies were undercooked, mash dry and lumpy. People in there were rude and all gave ugly looks, even the waitress didn't know how to smile. The rest of the cakes were all dry and the kind that's been re-frozen over and over again, horrible. Coffee tasted burnt as anything. Not coming back here.

Great club, good food and services

Bistro food is normally quite good but tonight something basic like kids spaghetti bolognese was revolting. The mince was ground to a pulp and it was like they added cheap packet tomato soup to it leading it to taste like a $2 coles lasagne for 1… Such as shame as everything else quite good club food. Hopefully they fix asap, if the kids don’t want to come here then we will go somewhere else… 21/3 - thank you for your reply below but please note I did raise it with staff but there was no replacement meal..

Great food, great coffee. Lovely atmosphere to sit and chat. Visiting from Mid North Coast for a friend's birthday 🎂. Club is very accommodating and staff helpful and friendly. We had a lovely time. Thank you

I am a regular visitor of club central and having food in bistro. But today's experience was worst in terms of food. We ordered momos which was new for us in menu. I love momos but what we got here is the worst I had in my life. I'm only writing this post bcs I'm a huge lover of momos nd if somebody can serve it in this way to customer is pathetic. But overall club central is very nice place to be with family, but yes no momos.

Expensive if your not a member .

Must be a member. One of our group had to join on the day to enter. Membership is cheap. The atmosphere at the club is inviting, staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Parking in and around the club.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the Club offered a Bambino and Grandparents menu. However the experience turned out to be very disappointing 😞 The children's meals were more for adults, no chicken and chips/ fish and chips or children's hamburgers. I was forced to buy hamburgers 🍔 off the main menu.

Our group had 2 large tables. All the food looked and tasted and presented well, quite generous serves. The seafood platters looked wonderful, nothing left on plates.......which is a good 👍

My sweet potatoes were hard (in a bad way) 😡. Like the inside was hard. Yuck! Still ate it though. The rest was pretty good. I liked the pink lemonade.
