Boring and awful. Beer is flat , layout is awful. Totally boring and weird. Had to leave after 10 minutes and go someplace better!

Just held our club's presentation lunch in the function room. Catering was excellent with three course meal provided. Catering staff were friendly, professional and eager to please. All of our members really enjoyed the day

Margaret at the bar is one of the nicest and most professional staff members I’ve seen. She treats everyone with respect and is especially kind to the older patrons . So lovely to see in this day and age. I’m amazed she remembers so many people’s names. Burgers at the restaurant are amazing. Kids just love the ‘lodge burger’ . Make sure on the busy nights you get your order in early. Can’t fault this place .

Don’t like the rough blokes there table of idiots not knowledge drunks sweating nasty drunks spoil this place mistly every arvo noisey stupid piss heads not good food either it used to be a good club once not now

Country town hospitality

Their main meals aren’t great value but the portion sizes of the children’s meals are beyond disappointing. For $14 you get one small piece of fish and about ten chips. I should have taken a photo but given it took all of 10 seconds to consume such a minuscule meal, there was hardly the time. I tried to politely pass on this feedback in person. One staff member quickly agreed but the other asked with an eye roll if I “go to other bistros” and know how much things cost. Ah… yep. Have been to loads and for $14 we’d usually get a decent meal with ice cream and a kids activity pack included. Maybe they don’t want families there. Then why have a children’s menu? Or a playground? Our kids left hungry. Sad to say we won’t be going back.

Great food and great location. We have brought large groups of friends here over the last few weeks spending thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be appreciated by staff and regulars, who have made the venue feel very unwelcoming to children/families. Despite the recent addition of a children’s playground.

This place is amazing for family with children. Food, ambiance, bowling area, and even a small play area for the children is great!, heaps of parking in out of the venue with no time limit, everything is perfect except for the kids menu which could be better for the price, especially the fish and chips was lame compared to others places we had been 😊.

Nice enough local. Beers are reasonably priced and bar staff are friendly. Bistro are taking the absolute piss though. $14 bucks for a tiny kids meal and they wanted $2 extra for some tomato sauce. Don't eat here, just have some drinks.

Amazing meals. We had the French chicken parmigiana, fish & chips & the chicken wrapped in prosciutto filled with Camembert cheese…..beautiful. Staff are friendly & polite. Highly recommend this restaurant inside the Asquith Bowling & Recreational Club. The club is very friendly & we have made this our local since we moved back here a few months ago from a country town.

Very nice place for dining

Have been attending the ABC as we still Ike to call it for 10 years now. I must say that over the last 6 months or so the club has improved out of sight. Special mention to all of the staff, everyone of them is taking great pride in providing first class service and iff you've not had a meal at the Lodge Bistro you are really missing out. Food has been sensational with great service and such friendly smiles. A credit to all involved and look forward to the clubs continuing success.

Both times I've eaten at The Lodge I have been very disappointed, the beer battered fish and chips was not beer battered and the chef's special butter chicken was simply stewed chicken in a pool of runny liquid with no flavour and not many pieces of chicken either. I was told I would get extra pieces of chicken because they had run out of papadums, I would hate to see how many pieces of chicken they normally serve. I was with a group of 6 people only 2 liked their rump steak the others were disappointed with their meal. I was too embarrassed to make a fuss but I won't be eating there again.

I simply adore The Lodge! After moving to Hornsby from the Inner West, with tonnes of amazing food options, I was so excited to find The Lodge Bistro at the Bowlo. I’m a bit of a regular now:) The menu is great - lots to choose from and they have a specials board that is next level. Last week we couldn’t decide, so went for both the ribs AND the prawn curry. Both were soooo tasty. The ribs fell off the bone and the chips and coleslaw that came with them were great too. I’m a bit of a fan of their Thursday night steak special too;) Do yourself a favour and try it out!

Although there were issues with our phone booking for a table of 7 (there is a glitch with their phone system atm), there was plenty of room for us on Friday night. Two (including me) ordered the Fri night special of chicken schnitzel. It was excellent! Fresh flattened chicken breast with a crispy crumb that wasn’t oily at all, perfect chips and a fresh well dressed green salad. Three had the barramundi, one the curry and one the battered flathead. All was declared excellent. Obviously a kitchen that knows their stuff! Highly recommended for a well priced meal.

The Lodge Kitchen & Bistro is consistently good. Much better than other club/pub offerings in the area, interesting variety and great specials. Topped off with genuinely friendly service - so glad to finally have good food at a club in the Hornsby area!

Restaurant is under new management and the food is much better with a selection of Asian and western meals. Service was a little slow but food was great

Too much meat .

Not a great experience unfortunately. We ordered a steak medium rare & it was very well done. The staff were accommodating & gave us a credit for a free meal next time, we weren’t really keen to come back, but thought we’d give it another chance. Next time round we ordered the schnitzel & burgers. The chicken schnitzel was so oily, & you could see that the oil was old, as it had a burnt flavour & was inedible. The buttermilk chicken burger was so dry, not moist at all unfortunately & the cheese burger was cold. It must of been sitting there for a while, whilst the other meals were being prepared. Sorry, we definitely won’t be back. Although the staff are friendly, the food is not good & service is slow. Shame because the food was great before.

Food was pretty good on each visit, but lately the salads they serve with the meals is basically a bit of greenery and if you are lucky, a 5mm section of tomato may be included. Not good enough in my books for it be called a salad. If your short of tomatoes there is a Coles down the road at a reasonable price.

got my order wrong and was cold when i received it

So after complaining about the rib eye on the new menu, instead of fixing it as I suggested they took it off the menu altogether. This catering company running this restaurant are in shambles and are ill equipped to run a restaurant. On top of all this whilst I write this I a trying to kill a coachroach crawing on my table whilst I wait for an overpriced 250g rump steak upgraded to surf & turf. Does that mean 2 prawns? Maybe I will receive burnt garlic bread again twice. GET RID OF THEM!

The male employee was excellent with customer service. Made us feel welcome and was very friendly and professional. The food was very fresh and good. I recommend the lodge burger👍

Food was good, beers aren't too expensive. However we went for a work chrissy party which involved lawn bowling. We all found the elderly gentleman who was supervising the bowling rude and condescending. We wanted to have a laugh and try bowl. It's a game it's not premiere league.

They didn’t give me directions to their building from Washington D.C. they were very disrespectful and I was being very polite. They hung up on me horrible people and they had no patience so rude 0/10 don’t go or they’ll noose you

A great little club, which is sort of our local now for food and drinks. Nice staff and while not too fancy, has a good, relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming. I'm looking forward to Wednesday night bowls, I suspect I may secretly be awesome at it! 🤔😉

Absolutely disgusting food! We went here to celebrate my partner's birthday and ordered spaghetti bolognese, a seafood basket, a slow cooked lamb for his dad(who has been going to ABC for years) the lamb was so tough, defo not slow cooked and the seafood basket was pitiful. Bolognese was not to die for.. if they actually cared about the quality of their food that would make locals happy.
