Very dirty, unprofessional, rude, they gave us dirty & unchanged sheets & we asked for changing, the front lady was so rude & came after one hour to change linen, the toilet wasn't cleaned as well, never recommend anyone.

We used to eat here a lot. But since Covid it just hasn’t been the same so we stopped going. We recently decided to give it another go. Twice in a month actually. The meals were quite bland. The roast meat was full of fat and the member of our group that ordered it left most on the plate. The menu also doesn’t have as many choices as it used to.

Staff and service are impeccable here, super friendly and helpful. Free drink upon arrival. 10% off meals for patrons. Be prepared to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. Accomodation is fine for an old building, slightly grimy, especially shared bathrooms, but as expected for old pub accom. Budget friendly, comfortable and safe as just a place to sleep. Good location, everything you need is a short walk away. Thanks guys!

We had a pleasant stay at the Mowbray Hotel. The initial check in process was smooth and the staff were friendly. The corridor of rooms smelt of smoke but our room was quite nice. The beds were very comfy and we enjoyed having a sink in the room however there was mould on the windows and stains on the carpet. The bathrooms were decent with the complimentary toiletries being a nice touch although the showers were a little dirty and there was no soap for hand washing. The hotel itself is close to plenty of shops and restaurants which was very handy for what we needed. There is also a small kitchenette which was also a little dirty but sufficient enough for simple meals. I’d recommend staying here for a cheap night but be weary of my points above.

Amazing for what you pay for. Room was incredibly clean for a pub room, staff were amazing and got a free drink on arrival. Easy to find and everything you need is in a short walk.

Meal was great, and staff friendly

No information about having to climb stairs to get to the rooms, we are disabled and had a child with us. Rooms weren't very clean after complaining the shower was fixed. Bistro was dirty when told waitress there was dirty stuff under the table was told must be the pepper no offer of moving our table. Food was extremely hot and was very unappealing and uneatable. Was told arrangements could be made to have dinner in the room when asked about it on arrival was.told no in no certain terms. Upon arrival there was a child running behind the bar causing havoc not the right thing to do even if it was staff's grandchild. Rooms not as shown on the Web page. Upon leaving asked the cleaner to turn off her vaccum cleaner as it was terrifying my 2 year old great grand son, got told rudely no I have a job to do bur we didn't even need 5 mins gethim out the door instead we had a frightened child for a few hours

Very poor service, underweight steak, not rested long enough, and forgetful staff. Do better or close down. $48 dollars for the quality of a microwave meal.

Room: bed was comfortable, and we liked having a sink in our room. The double bed was up against the wall which made getting in and out a bit uncomfortable, and there was no bedside light. We enjoyed having hot drinks from the kettle in our room and appreciated that the hotel gave us enough milk to enjoy a cuppa instead of the annoying little plastic pods. Good job! Bathrooms: female bathrooms were good and liked that they had soap etc. dispensers instead of single serve toiletries. Husband said that male showers were awkwardly set up with no cubicle doors only curtains and nowhere dry to get dressed. Kitchen facilities: there was a shared kitchenette with toaster, microwave and sink. Staff: check in was quick and easy and staff were cheerful and hospitable.

Rooms were spotlessly clean, but take note. Access is by stairs. Rooms are extremely basic. You can't sit in them and relax - no chairs, just beds. Bistro food was nice, but again, we had to leave our room, going outside to access dining area

very poor service waited 1 hour 20 mins for our meal we had a child with us who also waited close to an hour to have his meal delivered to our table The waiters where very blunt and arrogant if you don’t want to be at work just stay home Meals below normal ALH pub standard i ordered the mega mix grill with my steak to be cooked medium rear only to be served the most over done steak i have ever been served ever the seasoned roasted veggies with grilled chicken an added extra cost only to be served cold roasted veggies and the chicken was just slapped on top If the people at the venue could not of not made us more unwelcome if they tried The service was so below par and will never be coming back here again

My Friend had a wedding there this weekend in the function room.. the staff members were amazing, especially one in Particular Elle 😎💪 I believe she was the main hostess for the function and not once did she stop moving or making everyone feel welcome within the venue. She was extremely helpful towards all the children running around and very prompt on removing anything off tables that was in our way or finished with…. Personally the Service, I’d recommend highly To anyone who would want to hire the function room like my friend Did…

It's my first time to have lunch here and I was already treated with an unfriendly manner by staff. Told me to get my drink from the counter and did not even smile. Made me feel like I shouldn't be there. Terrible. Never again.

For $97 this is what you’d expect. The rooms are dated but clean and tidy. Unfortunately, our room was right next to the door so cigarette smoke blew in. Very noisy and could hear next doors TV and constant coughing through the night. But the staff are really friendly and welcoming on check in.

It used to be great, but not anymore. The food is tasteless. I believe they have changed the chef or may not have one.

Not a pleasant environment

Never again. Grilled fish mornay was just a half cold fish the sauce was mozzarella cheese slightly grilled, frozen vegetables, just awful. What happened tonight usually ok.?

Schnitzel with garlic chilli prawns. Over cooked prawns (cold), no chilli that I could taste. No sauce on the schnitzel and half hot chips. Shouldn't of gone back as same ordinary meals.

Disgusting Stayed here as a last minute option as nothing else was available. I was a bit apprehensive as staying in a pub hotel is never a good idea unless you’re desperate. Let’s just say, cheap price = cheap people. We were kept awake all night as we were in room 1 next to the staircase and doors were slamming ALL NIGHT. There were a few bogan families here with their disgusting kids and all night we could hear doors slamming, drunk people shouting, someone was up at 1am having a chat with her friend after reporting a toilet being dirty (it was that loud we heard every detail of her not very interesting life) and yes, the toilets were disgusting. We also think a couple was having a domestic as all we could hear was loud banging and shouting till a male left the room shouting then leaving the premises. 3am woke up again and we could smell weed. Then was woken up at 6am as someone had set the fire alarm off (probably smoking inside) So thanks a lot. We have a long drive today with about 3 hours sleep each! Please avoid this place it’s awful!

Great budget hotel, will stay again. Excellent value for money. Rooms and amenities very clean, staff helpful, comfortable beds, surprisingly quiet rooms. Location is also excellent- great variety of retail and food options within a block or two from the hotel, and you get 10% off your meal if you choose to eat in.

Great staff, great pub. Cheap and cheerful accommodation, don't expect valet parking but rooms were clean, quiet, good shower and telly, you can't go wrong. Good sports bar and and a nice outside area to enjoy a cold one. Big bistro with plenty of pub favorites.

Mowbray offers the ideal budget-priced option in north Tassie - freshly painted rooms, cleaned daily; very comfortable beds; big TV in each room. Shared bathroom is freshly kept and modern. And the bistro may have the best cheesy-garlic bread in all the Apple isle! Bar offers classic Aussie drinking environment, with friendly staff; gaming room is clean and modern, if that’s your thing.

Room was ok, but the kettle to boil water looked really really dirty. Parking facilities and dining available. The most annoying thing is the location of the room and the area where hotel couldn’t sleep well because of the noises of vehicles almost whole night.They need to work on the hotel window glass.
