First time trying it after Covid and noticed couple of changes. Parking is not as easy as before. If this is the first time you are here, you might need assistance to find the club entrance. Hence, it is recommended to use Google to locate and navigate your direction. Henry and May are very helpful and display great and warm hospitality. Lots of good chef's suggestions on food menu. We tried eight dishes and they are all above our expectations. The best would be the steamed Baramundi and crab with XO sauce. Finally we received a free desert and fruit.
We had their new edition of truffle fresh lobster with okra - sensational! Kids friendly restaurant inside Markets Club with lots of fresh seafoods choices.
We ordered Peking Duck , instead of making the wrap for us, the waiter just drop the plate with the duck meet and the rest of the sauces and left. We have to wrap them by ourself. We have to wait for 20 mins to get someone before ordering, we finally have to get up to the counter to get someone to order our food. The whole restaurant only 2 waiters for a Friday Night. Soooo disappointed! You decide if U want to eat there or not!!
1.5% credit surcharge.
They charge you extra when you don't know anything about it i.e. the seafood weight,Somehow there's an extra dish on your bill. The worst service nobody adding water.
Can I choose 0 star? Crabs and lobsters are meatless, watery. And there was no service at all, even run out of water. There also overcharged me $15 for seafood misc at the end of the bill. Okay that's fine. But what's more irritating is that the dessert is sour, even thats free but still can not do like that way, we consumers right, therefore I don't know who will be unlucky next.
Had the unfortunate filial piety to join my parents at this restaurant for Chinese New Year’s on a Saturday night. After only being served 1 dish after 1 hour wait and the table that came after us being served multiple dishes, we asked what was taking so long. I took a bathroom break and watched all the wait staff stare at the order tickets, convincing me that they lost my table’s food order. We didn’t order complex seafood dishes that everyone has been raving about in the reviews. It was a steamed fish, stir fry noodles, stir fried pork and veggies, stir fried wasabi beef and deep fried softshell crab. We ordered at 18:45, the final dish arrived at 21:30. The dessert soup and fruit arrived at 21:35. By then, the wait staff crashed a dirty dishes cart into the back of my chair, flicking food over the back of my dress and hair. It took even longer to pay. Seriously, anyone who has to come here because your elders thought this was a good value and good idea… avoid it. Take charge, book another venue for another day NOT near new year. It’s not worth your sanity have a small discount on seafood.
Foods are so nice, restaurant staffs are so friendly also the security and the Pokies staff and managers are so cool. I always love to stop by and have dinner and play for once and go home.
Yum Cha is great, great price and friendly staff!
It’s our third time having Yum-cha this afternoon and it’s good. The only thing that stops me for giving a FIVE--it’s delicious but very oily.Would I come back?YES
We just visited Markets Chinese Restaurant in Homebush, and was very disappointed how greedy the older gentle charged us. Firstly, the two small mud crabs he brought out was in total from 1.1 to max 1.2kg, but he said 1.7kg. Price given was $28.90 for half a kilo. When received the bill he charged us $33.30 for a half kg. I asked why, he said because we ask to for good ones. One of the crab was just alright, the other one barely had meat. Plus one of the crab had only 1 claw. He handle over the bill to us, but since we have memembership card. We gave him the card to get us the right bill. But when the returned, the bill was the same. We did not argue a word from ordering till paying the bill. This certainly will be the last visit.
Food was not great
Rice was cold and stale and the vegetables were soggy.
Pretty decent Chinese food only a bit expensive side. If you are ordering seafood stuff. Decent chef cooking HK style dish with heaps of msg. Uncle Rodger will approve of this restaurant. Overall nice tastes and dessert were pretty good will come again try other stuff vegetarian options available too.
Very cheap. But food quality was quite poor for yum cha.
Not bad for yum cha at all. Suits big groups. Mango pudding however is really disappointing, no sago, slightly tasteless jelly, and only evaporated milk not condensed milk.
great selection during yum cha awesome service, amazing tasting food. Worth visiting
Went for yum cha at their advertised opening time of 10:00 a.m. to avoid any crowds. Got there and found restaurant completely empty. Decided to play some pokies first as obviously I got there too early and didn't want to go when no trolleys were ready yet. Came back at 10:30 a.m. and saw one large group now inside eating so decided to go for it. Once we sat down we realised that the large group was actually all the staff eating their early lunch and the restaurant was still completely empty. After bringing a single trolley of food for us to choose from they then went back to eating their lunch. 15 mins later they brought over the second trolley with cold fried food that had been sitting there since we got there. When I say cold I don't mean recently fried and cooled down food, I mean refrigerator cold. Needless to say we promptly left after that and did not wait to see what the third trolley would have been.
Really tasty food. Lemon chicken and Honey prawns were the standout dishes.
🦞
Lively Sport Club, we came on a Sunday, early 6:20, already the restaurant was packed and busy... We placed and had to waith over 1hour half for our orders to come through... Finally, the food had arrived, ginger Crab with shallots, salt & pepper pork, steam egg, black pepper 🫑 beef, salty egg yolk prawn, and fried rice with chicken corn soup... all dishes were well prepared and to standard... We'll come again but not on a weekend...
It would have been a 1 star. The waiter there is rude, lazy, and just simply a waste of space. The food is 50/50, the trolley ladies are nice, and the cashier lady is professional and polite. If they didn’t have the waiters there, they would probably have more business.
Yummy crab at special price...very nice 👍 😁
Staff is amazing but yamcha food is absolutely bad. Won't come again
very very mediocre yum cha
Honestly, worst yumcha I’ve ever had. Food aren’t warmed up. The jielan was not tasty. Wouldn’t recommend to come here for any forms of dim sum as the choices are so little too
Nice standard dishes cooked without over-seasoning and generous in portions. Good table service.
Very good food but it's a hassle having to sign into the club in order to collect your food
Been here a few times for Yum Cha & dinner - fast friendly service but the food is always 50/50 (depending on the dish u order & how the chef cooks that day) Have to disagree with the last review by Michael Ng lol even though we were together having lunch here - it was disappointing to me because not all dishes were fresh & there's only a limited range selection to choose from Had dinner with friends tonight 17.6.22 as the B grade mud crab was on special, at a lower rate than usual. It was the highlight of the night Dishes ordered: 1. Sizzling beef (not nice as last time - salty & chewy as different cut used) 2. Seafood tofu hotpot - slightly above average re: quality & the flavour was average 3. Fried rice w/salty fish & chicken - only nice when hot & no salty fish flavour 4. Lamb pancake - not recommended as lamb was flavourless, oily, a bit gamey & undercooked for me 5. Fried stuffed duck w/yam - oily, bland & low quality produce 6. Mud crab w/vermicelli claypot - as mentioned in the beginning, highly recommended 🤤 well cooked & nicely flavoured
Love this hidden gem. My family often enjoy their yummy Chinese food for special occasions
Good value. However, yumcha carts are very slow and inefficient. Floor staff needs more motivation and energy to meet customer demands for dishes on time.
Super nice Yum Cha and really good Manager Shaun
Nice restaurant with good service. We went for yum cha on a Sunday and the place was very quiet. There were only two carts going around with a nice but limited selection. We ended up ordering items from the menu in addition with the yum cha selection. Food was nice, fried rice was good but loaded with MSG.
We came in last minute to eat for dinner and was grateful they gave us 3 tables to eat at but it took almost 40mins for someone to come and take our order. Besides that everything else was excellent.
Quite a small space for yumcha. There was only two trolleys of food when I went - one for steamed and one for fried. Admittedly the taste of dishes were quite decent. But the severe lack of selection left us all feeling very unsatisfied.
Looking very nice after the upgrade. Staff are friendly. Not tried the food yet but before lock down it was good.
Service is bad. Asked children for license plate making them uncomfortable, unwelcoming and uninviting atmosphere, did not serve after calling repeatedly and waiting during not busy hours. A RAW PRAWN in the prawn rice noodle rolls served to children.
Great service! Great taste! Great price!
Great Food
Nice, quiet and friendly staff, the restaurant is amazing as well as the club specially after the recent renos 5 out of 5
Good food. Friendly staff. Nice dessert after dinner. Good for family or friend gathering.
This place is hit and miss, we come here regularly for the special fried rice and crispy skin chicken. Tonight was a miss as they brought out the fried rice almost straight away and it was tepid and we devoured that cause we were hungry and then the chicken arrived and it wasn't succulent like it normally is. They really need some consistency in the quality of their food.
Traditional Cantonese seafood, moderate price, easy parking,
Not really recommending this restaurant. The tastes of the dishes do not meet the values of their prices. It is also a bit expensive when compare to the Chinese Seafood restaurant nearby.
Very Relax and comfortable environment. Clean and tidy . Nice food pretty good standard. Worth to go back again. regards
Hostess is awesome! Food is great!! Over a decade eating there.... Peking duck, dim sim and curry chicken are top shelf 👌
Good service .
Would give 5 stars if only they give a proper portion for take aways. I ordered sweet sour pork for $21.80 but mostly is onion and capsicum, maybe only 10 pieces of the pork. Taste wise is good. But if only they give full portion of it as we pay full. The container is only the medium size container. That's the only downsize. I had the steamed fish also crispy chicken, beautiful. Overall is good
