Chicken Parmigiana was exceptional! Beautifully crispy & the chips were perfect.

Came here for a few drinks amd to grab some food. My friend placed an order shortly before 9. When my other 2 friends from the same table tried to submit their order at 9.02 they were told they can't because the chef had left. We understand that the kitchen has to shut at some point but..now we had 1 person stuck waiting for food whilst everyone else was left hungry. He ordered a medium steak but it came out extremely overcooked and tough and seemed to be a reheated steak. Perhaps because the chef had left already? When we asked for an amendment, they said they can't rectify the error because kitchen staff had left and offered a refund. So we ended up with 4 hungry people and one returned meal. Poor service. Drinks were fairly priced for the area but still.. We won't return.

Walking past and fancied a pint, not many people there barman was very helpful and talkative, gave it 3 for atmosphere as there werent many people there, i can imagine if it was busy it'd be good. I needed a pint, got one - job done. On that note, the oldest pub in sydney wouldnt serve a pint of alcoholic ginger beer, so this pub did better than them.

Amazing food and a chilled crowd. Staff members are very nice and professional.

The man who allegedly manages the Pool area, kicked my friend out because she asked him to get out of her personal space and then said she smashed a glass which she didn’t. Short, unfortunate looking man with a bruised ego. Do not go here.

The managers use their power to kick out people who bring attention to men harassing women. Absolutely disgusting. I am honestly so shocked at the way the manager used his power to kick out people who were not causing any trouble but merely brought attention to a situation where a woman was feeling uncomfortable.

Staff were a bit slow taking orders, perhaps there were new staff on at the time. I ordered the Tuna dish, and it was tasty but not very filling.

Small yet vibrant rooftop bar that isn't too fancy. The visible pipes and hydraulics gives it a 'raw' feel like a standard casual pub juxtaposed against the 'bar' with the full shelter which makes Taylor's Rooftop very different, especially for one that plays live music with a dance space. Thanks to the team for reserving several high tables along with flexible start times and keeping the music at a conversational volume - the fried chicken burgers were really succulent!

Waited for over 20 minutes didn’t so much as get a waiter asking if I wanted service while the adjacent table got food and drinks. There are nicer rooftop bars in Sydney

Just in for beers - service friendly, welcoming, efficient and professional. Reasonable selection of tap beers, served icy cold, and sensibly priced. Outside seating area on Pitt St clean and ready for business, and the shade from the brollies and Wadafa trees (I don't know what they are, do you?) is pleasant on a warm spring day. Recommended.

All the good wine in the wine menu are out, and only have the crap wine left, when you talk to the bar tender they are giving you such a emotionless face like they just won’t give a xxxx.

The rooftop wasn’t exactly a roof top however the drinks were made well. Food was decent and priced regular for city pubs. The service was excellent, always served with a smile. Mens toilets are located downstairs from the rooftop.

FIFA, ve, Tom absolutely amazing service provided by all of these people, they were very accommodating to us Melbournians and explained the lock out laws.

A year earlier - The Republic advertises food it doesn't even sell (Swordfish) and when I made an alternate choice (Chicken parmigiana) they forgot to serve my meal and by the time I got it it was cold. If it was warm it probably would have been nice. It's a pity because I used to like attending the hotel. Not any more. It is nice that since this event the owner has apologised hoping that they will regain my trust. Who knows I may give The Republic Hotel another chance when I am in Sydney next. So, I went back to the hotel on the 9/7/24 to give the Republic a second chance. I had the garlic focaccia which was $15. It was very good for that price point. The service was also much improved which led to greater atmosphere! Good work.

We stayed for a weekend at a hotel nearby, and ended up at The Republic both Friday (9-10pm) and Saturday (4-8pm). The atmosphere at street level was pleasant, for having some drinks and catching up with friends. The drinks were reasonably priced and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

My mate slipped in vomit and the bouncer sorted him out.

Zero memory of being here but I'm told I had a nice time.

We had a corporate event at Taylor's Rooftop and had the worst experience. The staff was so unorganised and unresponsive to our requests when we were booking the place and enquired about food. The worst thing was that when a colleague asked if the miso and salmon bowl is gluten free, they said yes (it also says GF in the menu). But as it turned out, it was not gluten free and she got sick because of that. It is just not that professional an operation and one would expect hospitality venues to take gluten free requests seriously.

Our favourite host NaNa is the nicest staff member who always makes us feel welcome. Shes cute funny and always takes the time to make sure we have a drink in hand or complimentary food. 💯🙏💕

We had a booking for 13 people and were given a table with 6 chairs… luckily when we arrived the table next to it was also free so we could have an appropriate amount of space. We did go on a Saturday when the DJ was playing so unfortunately it was very hard to carry a conversation with anyone. Pizza was good but like most pub food, slightly overpriced.

I was actually surprised at how good the Wagyu cheeseburger was. Delicious!

I went to Taylor's rooftop on a Thursday night. Nice venue with enough seating. A pity the music was too loud and you have to shout at each other.

Nice rooftop environment, friendly staff. More beers should be included in the happy hour, otherwise be prepared to pay $15 on a pint. Only Carlton and Hahn are included in the happy hour.

The cocktails were delicious! The customer service was amazing by all staff, friendly and efficient. We ordered chips and the chicken wings, both quick and delicious. Music and ambience was good, not too loud. We had perfect weather as it was a rooftop bar. I booked this venue because we have been there a few times and I liked the fact that I could book a table online as most venues were only accepting walk ins on Thursday due to the Australia Day long weekend. Overall, great venue!

I came with my wife for some happy hour drinks and pizza on Thursday. The republic pizza was delicious! Special thanks to the security who found us a table out the front while we waited inside with it being so busy.

Several people in my group ordered chicken which was very salty. They offered to provide another option. But took a long time in providing the food. People on the other table had similar experience. I ordered a pizza which was not served to me. I noticed it laying at the bar and had to collect myself. Bad food and service.

Good location, not far from Circular Quay. Ordered a jug of mojitos for $25 which was pretty good. Not very strong drinks, but expected when there's a lot of ice melting away in the jug.

Pub grub was okay and the service was pretty good but a bit slow, but the place was packed. If you’re up the on one of the open areas on a hot day take a little fan with you as it was really hot and the fans they had weren’t cutting it. Otherwise they had cool music and was a lot of fun

We had the chicken Parma , double trouble burger & 2 beers = $84 Both meals hit the spot. But ...Chick Parma not hot enough . Burger was good ..but a bloke could think it was on the small side . Chips were good. Friendly staff. Over all .....meal was nice . Sat in the bar looking out over Pitt St .

OK place, but very noisy

Disappointing. Grumpy bar staff. Ordered chicken schnitzel at $26.00 for a chewy piece of chicken thigh - over cooked, over salted and over priced.

It's always quite nice here - nice atmosphere and such, friendly staff as well. Food and drinks are ok, though drinks are a little on the pricey side! Other than that it's not too bad.
