EB Games / ZiNG Pop Culture - Marrickville

My daughter bought a reconditioned PS4 remote control for $64.00 and it was filthy and all the buttons were worn. I took it back and was offered a replacement which was almost as dirty. There must be regulations around the condition of the items they are reconditioning and selling, not just whether they work or not. I have always experienced staff who were helpful and pleasant to deal with , but not today (Friday 13th).

Staff member Vlad is very good. Bought a copy of Space Marine 2 but didn’t have trade in games with me. He remembered me when I came in the next day and helped process a retroactive trade in to credit a portion of the original game price. Process was smooth and very transparent. Thanks Vlad.

Thanks to Sophie I felt warm and welcomed so in the future I will go back to buy new games and other pop culture collectables.

There’s a really nice gentleman that works there from Canada Advised me on using a ps5 controller on Steam instead of knock of remote brands that don’t register , instantly knew I needed it for nba game purposes He also looked after a bunch of primary school children for the pokemon somewhat pricey cards they ended up walking out with more than they expected and really happy Also framed a Lebron poster for me really nicley good stuff Eb games

Store is fine, the same as all the other EB Games stores. What I don't like is the pressure you are put under by staff to buy additional items or pre orders. I get that staff have their KPI's but, the intensity of the upsell is very off putting, bordering ridiculous. I remember now why I go to JB.

Took my 7 yo here today to get a couple of games and we were very happy with the service! Vladimir was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!

Vladimir and Joffree were so helpful! Vladimir went above and beyond but still managed to keep the customers happy and quick service.

Great store, big variety of items and staff are fantastic. The lady that seems to work there full time with Asian heritage is amazing, great sense of humour, knowledgeable and so helpful, thank you. Sorry, I'm horrific with names.

Staff always friendly helpful

Staff are ok, except they get your order wrong on multiple occasions.

When I wanted to buy electronic products, the clerk kept trying to sell me the two or three hundred dollars products and said that this was the cheapest product, but it was not, I asked if there was a cheaper one and the clerk said no, but the cheaper one was next to it👎🏻

Nice and good prices

I asked them to price match a game with another retailer (EB was selling for $49 but it was $35 and in stock elsewhere), which they agreed to. Did a tap and go payment. It was only after I got home and had inserted the disc that I realised they’d charged me $45 instead of $35. I find it hard to believe this was an accident. Ultimately it’s on me for not looking at the EFTPOS machine, but we had AGREED on a lower price than what I was charged, so this felt incredibly sneaky and disingenuous. In future I’ll just go to JB or Harvey Norman, where staff don’t try to rip you off.

Website (ie. not Google) says open on April 9th (Easter Sunday). Made the trip here, not open. PLEASE update your own website. However, came back on the Monday, first thing. Service was great, quick and efficient. So far so good

Went in to ask about trading in a PS4 Pro console for a PS5 and the assistant I was dealing with couldn't have been more helpful. She took time to work out what it would potentially be based on my list and then let me know the out of pocket. Walked out thinking, 'now that's how you get customers coming back'!

Love this shop, great staff, super knowledgeable and happy to help with anything. Always let me know what’s coming up for pre-order. Always have good stock levels of new items and a great used selection of games as well. EB have moved more heavily into collectibles and pop culture stuff in recent years and they’ve got the best selection in the marrickville area by far. Cheers guys, keep up the good work!

Came into this store to trade in a console and I was served by a staff member named Tass, in all my years of working retail and as a customer of not only EB but any retail.. I have never been treated so politely and well! Give that guy a promotion!

Worse experience ever

Terrible customer service, was a very bad experience. Would not recommend this EB Games store to anyone.

NEVER use their repair service. Took an Xbox, 5 weeks later they have told me they LOST IT and refuse to provide a replacement.

NOT open. Drove and walked here for absolutely no reason. Phone line rings but nobody answers. Store is opening “soon” according to signage. WASTED MY TIME!

Never had a problem before but....went to replace my 2 year old rocat cone mouse. They have another brand that is a direct and cheaper copy. It says it was both left and right handed. It wasn't only one thumb button. It was also glitching and didn't scroll well. Took it back, big bearded dude got all smartarse with me. Wouldn't even let me exchange it and was playing word games. I left it with him as I know my rights, had to phone the regional manager who sorted it instantly. Went back, beard wasn't there....I exchanged for a rocat all good. Why get smart with customers? It just makes you look like a fool.

in EB games marrickville: Staff here is very rude and refused to offer exchange or refund, very disappointing experience: Staff said that gaming mouse is pc accessory and can not be exchanged or refunded, even with the original box, receipt and within 7 days in perfect resale condition. However next day in EB games ashfield, I GET fully REFUND immediately!!! Highly recommend Mwave.com AND OTHER EB games STORE to purchase any PC accessories, they offer 7 days no reason refund and exchange. I won't buy any product here any more.

Pre-ordered Cyberpunk for PC a while ago and went into the store to ask if the game would be on steam or another platform. The young guy behind the counter said “I don’t know. You’ll have to wait and see on the day... I think it’s on steam.” The staff member didn’t even bother to ask the two girls working with him if they knew? I stood there just awkwardly waiting... so i asked “...is there any other way I can find out.... maybe online?” He said “yeah... maybe.” Classic example of why basic customer service modules are introduced when onboarding a new team member.

Went in to buy a few things and they were all so much more expensive then I had anticipated. When I buy games for my son I usually pay $69 and here they were price at $99.95 I asked for a price match as jb hi fi and big w had the same items significantly cheaper they said No as those stores were to far from this store so I simply drove 15 minutes jb hi fi and got my items there Turned out better because I saved $30 each per item.
