Stayed for one night to see a show at the Hordern. Great service and welcome on arrival, room was very quiet even though located on busy corner and atop a bar. Five stars for the price and location.

Was in the gambling room when I noticed the manager with long black hair being unreasonable and hostile towards three of the patrons. One of them put his fingers on his girlfriend’s mouth to jokingly sush her for a feature. He watches people closely a lot and also made myself feel uneasy upon entering as his mannerisms and behaviour made me constantly feel like I was doing something wrong. Anyway he came straight over to them and made them sanitize the guys hands for putting them on his girlfriend’s mouth. They complied with his request and left it at that. The girl then simple asked the bar staff for his name as she wanted to write a review as they are long term regulars and this is not the only incident they’ve had with him. He went straight up to them and told them to leave because they wanted to leave a bad review? They did nothing else wrong and it was clear he was on a major power trip. They stoop their ground and honestly I’m glad they did. I’ll also add - he called the male “disgusting” after making him sanitizer for putting his fingers on his girlfriend’s mouth and then wanting to touch the buttons afterwards. I find that pretty rich considering most of the buttons looked filthy already lol

Came here with a couple of friends recently just to be stared at by (who i assume is) the manager the entirety of our visit. he made us uncomfortable from the get go. his attitude also seemed to be miles off from what the typical attitude should be for a manager in a bar like this one (we over heard him speaking to other visitors in a derogatory manner). best believe we will not be coming back any time soon.

Great location and very quiet

We stayed one night in this hotel. Well located in Surry Hills. Bedrooms are average, the fridge is actually heating up the room and not cooling off the drinks at all. It is a bit strange to be entering the hotel from the pub, but all in all, quick and easy check in and access. The bedrooms are quite noisy, and you get woken up quite easily from people coming back from drinks especially because there is light in the bedroom from the corridor

Terrific room cleaned daily, and fresh linen supplied daily also. Comfortable bed and pillows. Downstairs restaurant and bar are convenient, food is delicious, and staff are all friendly and helpful. To top it off no noise was heard in our room from restaurant or bar.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was quick and seamless. Room was spotless. One of the cleanest hotels I've ever been in and extra touches such as waters in the mini Fridge and communal kitchen with juices and cereal go a long way to making this pub accommodation, a boutique Sydney stay. The hot water needs some serious work which no doubt was in the works

Hotel recommended nearby parking for overnight stay and parking was $180!!!! Which is higher cost than the room of the hotel! Rang to speak to hotel and they hung up on me. will never stay at this hotel, such a bad end to our trip

We stayed there as a family of 4 (3 and 5 years old), and our room was clean and spacious. It was handy to have a kitchenette in a communal area. The window in the room was double glazed and the noise from outside didn't travel at all on Saturday night in Surry hills. It was really quiet even though the downstairs was a bar. The location was perfect, there is Coles across th road, and the tram stop was approx 10 mins away. The only downside was that the shower took 10 mins to run hot water.

Surprisingly, architectually designed beautifull hotel room. Don't be put off by the sports/tab/pokies downstairs. The hotel is entirely removed. Double doors cut out all outside sound. Very comfortable. Very good customer service. Crown St location presents great small restaurants of all types. Maybe my new Sydney stop-in go to...

It is a rude arrogant bouncer that works there as both times we have tried to go there to play the pokies we have been told we weren't allowed in not sure if it is because I had a man with me or because he didn't like the look of me not that I go anywhere to impress anyone. Very disappointed in the service at the establishment.

First time last night, good wine, excellent food, staff very helpful, noticed I have trouble walking & suggested their lift so I could go up to the fantastic roof top bar, terrific atmosphere, why did it take me so long to discover this gem? My new local !

I went there for lunch every Tuesday, and I ordered drink, their VB very flat, toilet clean, poker machine forget it empty your wallet and still don't pay 😌

This pub has had a few interactions, service from the staff always 5 stars the places to drink feel a bit tight while the pokies room feels spacious. Very welcoming to sorts fans

What a disgusting and racist place me and my friend just wanted to use the toilet greeted by this so called security not doing his job but having a chat with the staff leaving the door unattended as i asked if we can just use the toilet while the venue was clearly empty we got told to go somewhere else for no specific reason i think you guys can do better

Fabulous hotel at affordable price in Sydney. Many Indian Restaurants nearby. Private laundry just 2 doors away, and quite affordable. Slurry Hills tram station at a walking distance. Good large Rooms and super clean. All different spreads, Milk, water, juices available in the common Fridge. One can buy a bread & breakfast can be done. Charlie is an excellent Manager. Other staff are also very good.

Security asked if we had a drink . Ofcourse 11pm and coming from dinner . We were 12 of us and one person was tipsy . He didn't let her in as we told she won't drink at all . Probably that's why that place was empty . You shouldn't turn 12 people back for a one person . And we told him if she drink you can take us out . No more this place

So it was late at night. My friend and I finished work late and wanted to enter a venue that was still open. Greeted by the typical ego of a security guard, with the stupid two question combo, Where have you been and how many have you had to drink tonight. After telling him we just came from work he dismissed our answer until our female friend who was in the venue persuaded him to let us in. 10 minutes in, our female friend was quite intoxicated and went to the toilet. The security told me and my friend to leave and told our other friend to sit down next to him when she came back from the toilet. It's a piss poor venue and realised even as a last resort we shouldn't of went there. 👍

Came here on a wednesday night, pretty quiet, ordered the steak sandwich and wings, for the food to be this good on a quiet night is crazy, the chips and wings were cooked to perfection, the steak sandwich was really good but those chips stole the show, nearly licked the plate

Ideally placed on the corner of Crown Street, Surry Hills, for a drink and a bite to eat on our way home. Staff welcoming, hospitable & amicable. Locals are knowledgeable and helpful when approached. Happy hour 4-6 pm for drinks and food. Plus the added bonus of being a dog friendly establishment. Pop in and give it go!

This hotel staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The hotel rooms are spacious and good value for money! The location of the hotel is very convenient and easy to walk to get public transport but parking is limited to street parking with a time limit. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cozy room with a comfy bed!

Don’t go if your ethnic or female. Went to order a shot with my friend and a male said “like they can afford shots” ignored him and he continued with “they will probably get the house specials”. When I confronted him on his comments he said it doesn’t matter he’s a manager there. Security guard confirmed he is a manager who is off duty and had a bit too much to drink. He’s a blond bloke and this happened on the 23rd of December 2023. A bar is Sydney City should have better standards for staff. Shocking.

This place is always terribly understaffed!! It's super frustrating waiting at the empty bar because the one bar person it tending to the poker machine room that is as big as the pub. Even more annoying when it is expressed that they only make money from poker machines, so that is the priority!! It's unfortunate also that the owners universal group are supposedly a leader in the hospitality arena! But it seems are to tight to bother about customer service and continually leave the bar unattended with the over worked bar staff subjected to pokie head demand!

Just flew in from Melbourne thought we would go there for a drink there were 24 of us omg the male barman i think he was trying to be a manager lol what a joke rudest pig i have ever come across. I work in this industry have for over 20 years and this wanka has not got a clue about hospitality he needs to be working at the tip .

Porch monkeys for security need an attitude adjustment. Told me I was to intoxicated, refusing to permit me to enter and meet my friends. I requested a breath analysis machine to verify that as I found it extremely hard to believe considering I haven't drank alcohol for 7 years. Pathetic, venue clearly is only a support system for the Pokie Machines, 3 patrons for the venues pokies were so evidently off the planet on something illegal but they were greeted welcoming and had the door opened for them. WHAT THE UMMM DID I MISS SOMETHING. ONLY FEW CONCLUSIONS ONE CAN DRAW FROM THAT.... WHAT A DIVE.

On a Tuesday evening, I went into to enquiry about their drink options and the bartender was incredibly rude, condescending and lacked basic hospitality skills. I decided not to purchase a drink as a result of her behavior.

Overall was a nice room comfy little area but i wasn't impressed at while my partner and I were getting into a few things a worker had knocked and opened our door at around 3am, Very confusing why any worker would open a customers door unless for an emergency

Had to stay here for work and will never return. “4 star Hotel”. One towel in the room. Bathroom very unclean and drain clogged rendering the bathroom unusable after a short shower. One bedsheet with many black hairs in it. Absolutely disgusting. Tried to use their QR code to purchase drinks to the room to make the stay slightly more bearable. The drinks never arrived and when I asked the bar staff they said “no we don’t serve drinks to the room” and were not helpful at all. Also stinks of cigarette smoke throughout the entire Venue. The plastic wrap over the fire alarms seems to be safe also. Stay away

Unreal bananas . Was there the other week. Lost about $150 in the gaming room. Then the very next week I had $40 to my name a bit of petrol half a pack of smokes and a drink waiting for me in the car. I pulled out $1150 and walked out. But then again I'm not going back. Lol you all know why. You win some you lose a LOT. YAHOO..

Won’t be back. Ordered beef burgers and a chicken schnitzel. The order was delivered to our table as a takeaway order, even though we had not said takeaway and had also ordered drinks and were given a table number. Working in the industry, I know this stuff happens sometimes and we would have been more than happy to just eat the food as is, but the chef rolled his eyes at us and just walked away without saying a word. The beef burger patties were over cooked yet still full of liquid/water almost as if they had been boiled or stewed. The buns were stale and dense. The chicken schnitzel was brought to our table as a chicken parmigiana, which would have been fine if the tomato sauce on top hadn’t tasted like it had come straight from a can heated up. Both side sauces intensely watery with no flavour. For a meal in a quiet pub on a Wednesday evening, I would have expected much better service and food for $60.

Lovely accommodation in heart of Surry Hills. Nothing flash but comfy beds, nice common area, functional (if not large or easy on the eye) en-suite. Surprisingly quiet at night. Overnight stay was very convenient and cheaper than anywhere else in Surry Hills

Ordered a cheesy garlic bread and had waited 32 minutes before asking a staff member where my order was. She then went and checked and then rudely told me oh we have a function on it will be another 7-10 minutes and stormed off. I waited another 10 with no sign so decided to cancel and get a refund. The staff member then opened the register, got the cash out, slammed the register shut and slammed the money in my hand. Atrocious customer service and frankly poor planning for a day with an event, sporting fixture and usual crowd. Will continue on our afternoon elsewhere

Loved staying here, nearby the Moore Park SCG, Hordern Pavillion and Allianz stadium for sport and concerts I attended. ||||Crown Street is full of great local restaurants and cafes, and the pub downstairs has great food and drinks.||||Rooms are completely silent, air conditioned and beds nice big and comfy.||||Everything was nice and clean, looking forward to coming back here on my next trip.

Trotz gebuchten Frühstück wurde dieses vor Ort nicht mehr angeboten... eine Rückerstattung ist trotz mehrmaliger Aufforderungen nicht erfolgt. Zimmer wurde nicht gereinigt (4 Nächte), lediglich frische Handtücher rein gelegt.

The bathroom had mould in the shower, did not look to have been cleaned. A small bathroom with the tiniest sink I’ve ever seen. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, just two sheets so when you went to sleep on it you could see the mattress it was very unprofessional. The shower drain was stinky, there was nowhere to put shower products in the shower which is unusual. The fridge was at a normal temperature but due to the small freezer section it made everything you put into the fridge freeze. Rooms are not sound proofed even a little bit. You can hear every person who walks past your door and we could hear really loud bangs in the night and the morning.

Great staff and manager , Jin went out of his way to assist etc , also a good bloke , Bonus was a free s hooner each day of our stay ,thanks again Graeme

To the old bearded man with the dog that sits on the balcony and yells abuse at women on a regular basis. Id rather not be yelled at as I walk past. I don't know if staff are aware of it, but it is disgusting behavior and needs to be addressed. I would not enter this establishment.

I’ve walked past here a few times now on my way to Jontys. Today I thought what the hell, I’ll check it out. It was warm inside, quite a nice temperature to have my 28th beer given the weather we’ve been having.
