Don't like how the staff hover

Great venue, Held a birthday at the rooftop on a Saturday. Staff were really great and helpful, food & drink were reasonably priced, and the dj and vibe was awesome. Would recommended for any birthday event or catchup drinks.

Attended here with a large group of friends, staff behind counter were nice and the aesthetic was good. Unfortunately, the food here is terrible, ordered pepperoni pizza & garlic chili flat bread, they came out on paper plates, the pizza and flat bread both looked like and tasted like frozen out of the packet that you would get from the shops. Friends ordered Chips, Burger and Schnitzel, all of which were below par.

I have had dinner there couple times and mostly it’s fine but recently I had the worst dining experience. They served me Karaage chicken made with breast fillet as I have never seen breast fillet Karaage chicken in my life. It was not edible as it was very hard and extremely salty. Not coming back again here until the renovations are completed as the temporary kitchen they have is a Joke.

I’ve been coming to the Aurora for a while but a couple days ago was my worst experience. An older woman who seemed to be the manager was incredibly rude to me and my friends. She spoke to us incredibly rudely as we ordered our drinks and also asked us for our ID’s a second time after we got ID’d by security. We later went out to the smoking area and she followed us out and began screaming at us telling us we can’t smoke there. I put my cigarette out and she came up to me and demanded to know where my ‘lit cigarette’ was, I told her I had already put it out even though she watched me do it and then we decided to leave the pub after being treated unfairly by her multiple times. I will not be returning with my friends.

Went here on Friday night , **security guard was amazingly kind suggested we try the side door, bingo! Not so busy, Because the upstairs was packed, ( it’s Christmas time) I didn’t get your name big guy, thank you man without you we would never have experienced that great service from the lady in the down stairs bar ( she is beautiful) Our meal was 10/10 snitzel crispy on the outside, chicken tender, salad very fresh, chips lovely and hot , fresh, with a good amount of salt. Same with our steak, beautifully seasoned. Absolutely recommend this place. When next in Sydney we will be back.

Very convenient location and has a nice vibe. Unfortunately the roof top bar was closed even though it says open till 6am. Some of my friends were asked to leave venue even though they were completely fine and not drunk. Kudos to that Indian security guard as he was very nice and friendly though. Will definitely visit again.

Went for lunch. Good food& drink reasonably priced. Rooftop was closed that day.

We had booked a few tables but when we went there it was missed completely. Too noisy and crowded but very close to central station

5/5 for the vibes of the rooftop bar.

Had drinks 🍻 and dinner 🍽. Great place for a work get-together. The food was good, and we timed it with Happy Hour. Good value for city prices.

Very enjoyable meal and great location

I’ve been to some pretty appalling pubs in my day. I’m not proud of it: it’s just a fact. But the Aurora Rooftop Hotel has to be the crowned winner for the most atrocious place to drink a beer in Sydney. They couldn’t grasp the concept of ambience if it looked them in the eye and slapped them in the face. You know you’ve hit rock bottom when it’s 3am and you’re sat in the smokers with a couple of old divorced men and a half drunk pint of Resch’s, nothing to greet you at home but another rerun of the Office and stale midweek leftovers. But that’s what you get at the Aurora: a place where dreams go to die. That final venue nobody needed to end up at, the drink that really puts you over the edge and has you reflecting on what an utter waste your life is. Three stars

Terrible experience here! The service from start to finish was shocking - particularly the blonde girl behind the bar was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. Our food took 1.5hrs for fish and chips! When the manager promised a refund, he wouldn’t give it to us in the moment until we pushed for it as he was trying to pass us off to hopefully forget chasing our refund. We had to push in order to get refunded then and there! This place had the opportunity to make a lot of money from a group of 10 of us but instead left us leaving annoyed and hungry, causing us to end our night then and there because it left such a sour taste in our mouths. Save your time and money by going somewhere else!!

If I could give zero stars, I would have. Never in my entire life I have been so incredibly mistreated by staff. I had my birthday dinner here (food that never came) and as soon as I ordered, I was denied drinks, my best friend sat down at the table to immediately get removed from the pub without any reason. Then a group of 25 people ordered food and apparently the system went down and the orders were missing. After 1 hour of asking where the food was, the staff said they’d check and they clearly didn’t or they’d of known the system went down. The few that remained at the pub among many other angry people were offered refunds but “they had no idea when the food would come”. The female blonde waitress was telling me and my friends to calm down after an hour of denying us drinks and help to get food. She was extremely rude and it quite literally ruined my entire birthday dinner. NEVER EVER GO HERE!

Ordered for food at 7:27 and it took over an hour to arrive. Manager kept offering a refund however I just wanted my food. I also got given a voucher which said redeem your free bottle of wine however the bar tender got angry and refused to give it to me. Worst pub I’ve been to I will not be coming back

Useless service. Ordered food and it took over 1 hour for it to come. Staff turned away our friends and kicked them out without any reason, citing they were too drunk even though we were starting our night here. No excuses given or apologies for our food being so late. Do not dine or drink here, it isn’t worth your hard earned dollars.

Convenient location and lively atmosphere for a drink at any time of day.

Happy hour schooners upstairs on a Thursday night...tick. Tasty cheese burgers with bacon afterwards...double tick! Generally just a really nice chilled place to go after work for dinner and a beer or three. Staff also are very friendly and helpful...well played Aurora. We'll be back for more.

Such a convenient location. A couple of minutes walk from Central Station and you can be sitting at this rooftop bar. Such a comfortable, clean and welcoming environment. Flat screen TV available for some sport and a good array of tap beer, wine and cocktails. You can also order food up here from the bistro downstairs. The staff were very helpful and friendly and although the weather was not fantastic, I could imagine sitting up here on a summers evening. Special mention again to just how clean the place was, including the bathrooms.

Our go to place after Uni Classes! Rooftop Bar is the best with Happy Hour Rates! The only thing I don't understand is why we can't eat or order food n the balcony/smoking area. ❤️ Food is great! We'll definitely come back.

Service behind bar in the public bar is non existant. Staff hide out back probably running their own business' or else sleeping. Worst pub in Sydney. Invisible bar staff. Left after 2 beers. JOKE!

Food was awesome, can't go wrong with an $18 lunch steak. Rooftop has been recently refurbished, looks great!

Came here tonight after work. Had the Snitzel and a glass of red. Excellent value and tasted great. Highly recommend. The Nepalese barman was lovely and friendly highly recommended

Pleasant enough bar, however smoking is unlawfully permitted/ encouraged upstairs in close proximity to doors on the veranda, resulting in cigarette smoke within the inside area.

A bit racist

We had group of about 16 for lunch. Due to flooding and train issues one couple were a little late. When they went to order food atv3pm they were told last orders were at 3pm. It was 3pm. And everyone else had ordered lunch. Then later on the day because we stated dancing to DJ it was like they decided we were drunk. Strangely going to bar they would still serve us one drink. Then decided to kick us all out. We have been there many times in the past. But this time young bar maid probably thought we were too old to be there and made call to kick us all out. We will never return. Between the lit of us we would have spent easily close to $3,000. In future will take our business elsewhere.

Great rooftop venue. Happy hour and reasonable pub food. Will definitely go again.

Dont come

Ate in the bistro. Friendly staff. System showed it fully booked so I phoned. There is a fault with their booking system as the place was empty.

Very disappointed. My 2 friends and I went to this establishment tonight to have a drink on the way home from dinner. The security guard was completely unreasonable and would not allow us entry stating the reason was we had too much to drink. Funny excuse considering we each only had 1. I believe it had more to do with the fact he didn’t like the clothes my friend wore. I would definitely give this place a miss. Get a new security guard. He is driving away business.
