19/02/2025 - Epicurean last night was Exceptional and the view was Spectacular. The Dessert Bar was fabulous, so delicious including the icecreams. Seafood Bar including all was 100% on point. My favorites restaurant 🙂

Where to start… Food: The selection of food was poor- if you’ve been to a buffet at a 5 star place in Dubai, or even Bali, drop your expectations of variety as well as quality because this lacks both. Particularly offensive was the beef roast which had the texture of leather and seasoning levels of paper. Scallops were never replenished, sauces were the same as your location fish and chip shop, only three varieties of sashimi, no juice stations and the barramundi was overcooked and unseasoned. Service: Awful. This wasn’t a very busy night at all, maybe at 50% capacity. The waiter in our section stood around looking bored, occasionally snatching cutlery away without replacing it, not checking in on diners, not refilling water unless asked. At some point he was relieved by another staff member and she wasn’t much better. Atmosphere: Hot. Pleasant weather outside, and stiflingly warm in the buffet on a non busy day.

This buffet is the best buffet in whole of NSW.It offers good quality and quantity. There is a colossal selection of food including a snack, desert,Asian, cheese, drinks, salad and seafood bar.Slightly overpriced but it was worth it.Definitely come here if you are staying at the hotel.

The best buffet dining in Sydney so far.

The best place for seafood lover! The service is always exceptional and the atmosphere is fantastic.

I have been here 4 times, big variety of dishes and different cuisines, the seafood is very fresh and delicious, yummy desserts, the dining area is big with lots of tables, the tables for 2 are a bit close together and this is not the restaurants fault but people will just push and step in front of you while your waiting in line to get food so maybe a better system for lines, it is also self serve so hundreds of people touching the serving spoons, the only thing I’d change is putting the food behind a glass wall and having a server dish it up but the food is still good.

was lied to about vegan/dietary options on the phone, chefs busy and were uninterested in speaking about vegan options. meat, seafood, and other options were mediocre at best. crab was uncracked and no crab crackers available. oysters were not fresh. no wait staff noticed or check in on the lack of plates or enthusiasm. arrived one hour before closing and still made to pay full rates. no dietary information (contains/allergens) listed on food labels when asked for a refund, staff asked us to wait and if we were in a hurry. do better

We went to the epicurean for lunch on a Saturday. I was worried it would be busy and there would be lines for the food - but it wasn’t. Food was fresh and very tasty. I didn’t manage to try everything, there was just too much to try. But across a table of 6, we all had only good things to say about the food. The only let down was the service. Most of the staff made us feel like they didn’t want to be there. Often mistakes were made with our requests. And one bizarre moment baffled us all, we had just finished our wine and wanted to order our next drinks, some of us had less than a finger of wine left in our glasses and we were told “restaurant policy doesn’t allow more than one drink per person”, we would have finished our wine by the time the drink arrived, but the server refused to take the order. Instead, we had to wait between drinks and by then we were ready to switch to dessert anyway. That was bizarre… Heads up, if you have a large party, you will be seated in the centre and won’t be close to the view.

We had an amazing experience here at the Epicurean. The atmosphere was very lovely and we were seated by the window and had a nice view. Food was excellent from the FRESH seafood to the mains and the dessert! I really appreciate the prompt service we received and our waiter refilling our drinks and clearing our dishes. I also want to thank the staff for bringing out our cake and setting it up for us, I really appreciate this you guys are awesome!!!!! My favourite dishes Oysters, raw salmon and other sashimi Pizza and sausage pasta Pineapple tart 😋 Would be nice if the dine in included a complimentary soft drink or coffee. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Thank you ☺️

We’ve dined at Epicurean multiple times, and with Kitchen on Kent now closed, it undoubtedly stands as the best luxury buffet in Sydney. Set against the stunning backdrop of Barangaroo, with high-end interiors and multiple live kitchens, this is a world-class dining experience. The lunch session offers fantastic value at just under $100 per person, featuring a menu that closely mirrors the pricier dinner and weekend sessions, albeit with fewer crustaceans. We typically gravitate toward the seafood and Japanese raw bar, though we’ve noticed that the hot food selection has improved recently. Some of my personal favorites include: • Sydney Rock Oysters – fresh, briny, and always a highlight • Sashimi – expertly sliced and high quality • Cheese Selection – a well-curated range of premium cheeses • Peking Duck Pancakes – beautifully assembled with crispy duck and rich hoisin sauce • Soup & Noodle Station – comforting and customizable • Pork Belly Roast – perfectly crispy and flavorful • Coffee Gelato – a creamy, well-balanced finish to the meal Overall, Epicurean delivers on both quality and variety, making it an exceptional choice for a luxury buffet experience in Sydney. It remains one of our go-to dining destinations, and we’ll certainly be back!

We went for dinner on a Wednesday night, fairly busy but still so much food and they always refill everything, quality of food was perfect and service was incredible, definitely get value for money!

We celebrated our anniversary dinner at the restaurant. The food was excellent, offering a wide variety of options. However, the service needs to be more attentive, as we had to call several times for a water refill.

Nice buffet resto, generous servings! However, their food for my liking just so-so.

Quite pricy Buffett but nice to experience at least once. Lot's of seafood! Cheese section and dessert section was great.

Epicurean at The Crown Sydney offers an impressive dining experience with a fantastic selection of fresh seafood and a diverse range of cuisines. The food was top-notch, with high-quality ingredients and well-prepared dishes that catered to a variety of tastes. The buffet selection was generous, making it a great option for those who enjoy sampling different flavors. However, the experience was significantly let down by the bathroom facilities. For a venue that accommodates close to 500 guests, having only one toilet cubicle is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the toilet was in a terrible state—no toilet paper, no sanitizer, no soap, and urine all over the floor. This is a shocking oversight for a high-end venue that prides itself on luxury and premium service. While the food was excellent, the lack of basic hygiene facilities made the experience frustrating and disappointing. For a place of this caliber, maintaining proper restroom cleanliness should be a given. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because such an issue can greatly impact the overall guest experience.

The coffee was not complimentary and that only one coffee per person was included. This was surprising, as every buffet I have visited has offered complimentary coffee. This is the first time I have encountered a policy requiring payment for additional coffee, which felt quite unexpected for a venue of Crown Sydney’s reputation.

Food quality and selection was fantastic. Probably one of the best buffets I’ve been to. Service was pretty good also. Not so much feedback but more just an fyi to other customers. If you are getting here late prepared for some dishes not to be restocked or available,

Epicurean is located upstairs inside the Crown . I dined in during lunch on the weekend, it cost $145 for the buffet. Seafood buffet was disappointing, the prawns wasn’t topped up as I went back twice and it was empty. The oysters had a bitter taste, the only highlight was the snow crabs. There was a sushi bar was popular, the chef pre-made the sushi in a container and kept topping it up. The sashimi and kingfisher were buttery. I didn’t touch the salad and antipasto section. The Asian section- there was a yumcha with steamed siu mai- very quite salty, custard bun was nice. But overall it was quite salty and thick wrapping. Finished off with some fresh fruit and the desserts were a miss for me. All didn’t taste fresh. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the price $$$$$ not worth it

Nice buffet with extensive variety

Overpriced!!!!! Seafood was not fresh and smelt fishy. Cooked food was stale. If you love seafood do not go. Hot and stuffy inside. Very very disappointed.

Fantastic views and location. Staff were awesome. But food was a let down. Meat was below standard, seafood wasn't fresh. It looks like a lot fod but the variety is limited. I have been to many buffets but this is Not worth the money you are paying. I don't think I would come back.

The Epicurean has a remarkable location within the Crown, and an elegant, unimposing atmosphere, setting the scene for a top tier feed. The open buffet style is always a treat. The setup consists of sections reflecting several popular cuisines, and a vast array of seafood options, all of which are of course fresh and incredibly tasty. I read that each section could hold its own in a standalone restaurant, which is undoubtedly true. The dessert bar is fun too😭It is good to pace oneself to be able to sample everything (which I did NOT do my first time), and just enjoy the experience, cos with their prices, not many can afford regular visits. Obviously a must do in Sydney and probably the best buffet in Sydney I’ve had so far.

Best service. Nice place. The prices are high compared to the quality of the dishes.

The food selection at first glance looks like there is alot. Although when you actually sit down and start to go through the selection to eat. It isn't that great. The main reason I gave this bad review is because I got food poisoning from the prawns or oyster. So I definitely will never go back here. The crown investigated" and couldn't have any findings link with the restaurant. As include with many other reasons including the seating arrangement was poor. As when you book you can't choose where you would like to sit. When you have put down that is was anniversary or birthday occasion. I would like to sit with a nice view would have made my day abit better than next to a massive table along side near the toilet. It's not a cheap meal to get so sick 🤢"

Went on a Tuesday night, which seemed best value for money because you get the fresh oysters and sashimi at a cheaper price compared to weekend. Lots of variety. Service was good as they were able to accommodate our big group.

Great service very fresh food great atmosphere good views and lots of seafood would definitely go and recommend always book early as it's very popular especially on weekends

Very disappointing. Seafood was tasteless and oysters very small. Other food was mass produced and ordinary. We were charged a prepublic holiday surcharge as well as the inflated Sunday price per person. Bit of a joke. No tea or coffee included. Service was fantastic. Staff were very attentive. The rest was forgettable. A shame when it was an occasion for celebration as I am sure it’s why a lot of people go there.

Review for the Epicurean Buffet @ Crown Casino Sydney. One of best seafood buffet I've been to yet, even on par with the Biggest Buffet in Macau (Grand Buffet - Lisboa Palace) but needing a few internal adjustments. To start with my heading picture of a seat with Bird Shit on it in an indoor facility was not very acceptable although the Food was absolutely beautiful and could not fault anything food wise (Freshest of Fresh Seafood) The staff were beautiful and lovely throughout but the toilet situation was not very good in the men's, there was only 1 cubicle and 4 urinals for 250 people seated in this restaurant, a family member came out of the toilets informing me that there was five in the queue once he left the cubicle 🤣 Funny! But not really if you are busting for the loo. I would suggest to go to the disabled toilets which are right next door to the men's toilets. This restaurant was quite warm, it only really cooled down inside when the doors open to the outside balcony. This restaurant really only gets Three-Star review because of the Bird Shit, toilet situation and the temperature Within. 5 SUPER GOLD STARS - for the Food & All the staff! Unlikely to return in Summer.

Recommend you avoid this restaurant due to their scam like behaviour. When we paid after our meal we confirmed name and phone number at the front desk, 2 days later we noticed we were double charged on our card. They said we left without paying, we saw it was noted on our account as we went back to sort it out. They're unable to refund at the restaurant as they charged the second payment through a different system. Crown ignored 2x requests to refund despite saying it would happen in 5 working days, staff were rude about the issue and suggested it was a scam despite seeing the two Crown payments on our credit card. This is really poor behaviour and they hope you'll not notice or forget about it. This impacted our holiday greatly. If you must dine at this less than average restaurant I suggest you reserve using a debit card with no money on it. It appears we're not the only ones this has happened to.

What a sensational experience ! The variety of the Buffet was so vast of cuisines, and all were brilliantly presented, taste and fresh. Great value and couldn’t highly recommend

Our waitress Sammy was a delight! She was very friendly and attentive to our table A great selection of food and a lovely view

this place is quite interesting

Good and varied buffet, from seafood to different cuisines, i.e. Japanese, Mediterranean, Indian and Chinese. Food is good quality, but the seafood is a bit limited, although still good. Overall, there is great variety and good value for money.

My short review. I will return! Enough said!

I found that for a buffet in Crown that the food was rather average. Only a couple things I found were good but for everything else the taste wasn't spectacular. Overall this buffet didn't blow me away especially for the premium you pay. Also felt like they had the aircon on low, it was a warm day and it was very stuffy into. I wouldn't even recommend going here just to experience it.

It was the first time I visited and I was extremely disappointed. The seafood was overcooked / not fresh and to top it off the fruit was actually rotten and mouldy!!!! I shouldn’t have paid. Will never go back again.

Service & Seafood was quite good, better to make the most of the seafood selection and see the views of Sydney!

My 9 family members and and I dined at The Epicurean on January 15th and were most disappointed by the lack of service shown. We repeatedly requested to order drinks from several different waitstaff. On one example, we ordered drinks and after half an hour of waiting to receive these, we cancelled the order as our dining experience had ended. We had to also request for water multiple times. Our unclean plates from the previous round at the buffet were not collected promptly, leaving us to stack them ourselves on the end of the table, which made it difficult for us to eat our new plate of food. Upon lining up for dessert, it was especially disappointing to find that the ice cream was completely empty. We needed to request for the ice cream and again, experienced a waiting time. This also occurred when lining up to plate our seafood where food items such as the Alaskan crab and scallops needed to be replenished and yet again, had to ask staff to request more food. For the large amount of money spent, we expect the food to be available to serve. While some food was enjoyable to eat, the service received on this night unfortunately dampened our experience and we do not intend on dining at The Epicurean in the future.

First time to visit this place, food was average, staffs top up food quite slow. Queueing at entrance for sometime. Staffs seem not happy to serve with no mood. Not provide complimentary parking. Not come back

Nice view, great food, But slow on service but still recommended

Great location, but definitely over priced and overrated. I went on a public holiday so person is 155 + 15%, so pretty pricy for a buffet. Below are a few comments: 1. Seafood selection was decent, have baby lobsters (rubbery and tough), crab legs ( very tender and juicy), blue swimmers (it was ok), oysters (fresh and great) 2. Limited selection of desert - ice cream was of low quality and cakes were ok 3. Asian section - this was the highlight of the buffet, great selection, good roast ducks and pork 4. Sushi and sashimi - ok selection, was messy and not too surprising, got king fish, salmon and tuna 5. Fruits - boring selection 6. Western - ok selection Service however for a buffet of this grade was very very disappointing, the chef at the live stations didn’t bother to serve me when they literally see me there… our waiter was also giving me attitude …

I was really looking forward to going having looked at the YouTube videos . Firstly the price $148 each to reflect the price my expectations were high . Yes their seafood is pretty good but oysters were relatively small . Apart from seafood the rest is very very average the were no scallops . The beef was so undercooked even for rare . Deserts were terrible . Tiny little helpings based on gelatine .save your money

Great option for an upscale buffet lunch in Sydney CBD. There is huge variety of high quality food on offer, I just wish I had a big enough appetite to appreciate all of it. There is a ton of fresh seafood including fresh oysters, crab legs, sashimi and more. The meat selection is also fantastic, with the roast duck being the highlight for me. The dessert range is just as impressive. I don't have a sweet tooth and even I went back for more panna cotta and and mandarin gelato. My only criticism is I think coffee should be included in the price.

nice view and the staff are really kind. the food is great as well. when you are checking, ask the staff to assign you a seat close to the window as its really picturesque

한번으로 충분

Would choose skyfeast over this. seafood was overcooked, noodles were beyond soggy, desserts were good it's overrated for the price. for an 8pm booking, things have been sitting put for a while

Great buffet. If you like a great seafood spread, this is your spot! Cost us $155 each (x2 ppl), and you need to book in advance because they do sell out quickly. Pace yourself and get a little bit of everything as many times as you can. Ask for a nice seat overlooking the harbour as on a good day the view is great.

You’ll definitely get your money’s worth here if you eat a lot. They give you enough dining hours to try everything/let the food digest before you grab more plates. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend were the fresh oysters - They in fact didn’t taste fresh. Instead opt for the cooked ones in hot stations closer to the other end. Other than that, service was great despite the area being very overstimulating. The interior is lovely and spacious so you’re not really bumping into people unless when grabbing good. I’d definitely come back here for another special occasion.

Food is okay, could be much better but whats with those worn-out chairs? What is holding youse back from replacing them?

(Weekday lunch) Recommended. Worth for the cost.

The have a very wide selection of food - sushi, sea food, western, asian, charcuterie and dessert. As any buffet the quality is average because it's been sitting out for so long. I paid $155 per person for my partner and I to have dinner there and was a little disappointed for the price we paid. Depending on where your table is you might get a lovely ocean view or be overlooking a giant hole in the ground.

One of the best buffets in Sydney in terms of food, atmosphere and service. Unlimited fresh oysters and sashimi, lots of seafood options, hot food, a good mix of international food and western food. Thank you to the staff like Madhu and the other waiters who were attentive to our needs, cleared the tables in record time, refilled our water and fresh towels. It was our second time here and it didn't disappoint!

It was a pleasant place with a good atmosphere. The snow crab was quite delicious. As I was leaving the restaurant after finishing my meal, I saw someone throwing up at the entrance, which was a bit surprising. Other than that, the experience was good, and the staff was friendly.

Good turnover of food and some variety in cuisine but not particularly of dishes

The best buffet dining experience of my life so far. The selection of food is all fresh and of premium quality. Incredibly impressed by the selection of desserts as the variety is very diverse and all are high quality. Big fan of the small tart cup things! The atmosphere is very lovely as well. It's perfect for special occasions and celebrations. A tad bit expensive but it was definitely worth it.

Christmas Day - Sat in a corner next to dirty toddler high chairs that hadn’t been cleaned since the breakfast sitting. Service was sporadic and waited close to 15 minutes for drinks. Greeted by a sullen waiter who seemed unhappy to be working Christmas Day. Will not be back. Felt like a cheap cruise ship all you can eat buffet.

For an upmarket hotel the chairs were all worn Vinyl, they literally had holes in them. We booked for 10 people but got a call on the day of the booking to say we had to have a minimum spend of $2000 for a group of 10 but there was no mention of this when we booked. Somehow we were expected to pay extra for the privilege of them dragging two tables together, go figure Would not recommend

Today was my daughters 16th birthday and we had a few things planned in town but it rained in the morning and we had to cancel. Walking past the Crown Hotel and have always wanted to try the Epicurean buffet, but bookings online said they were fully booked. Went inside and spoke to a lovely gentleman named Jordan and a lovely lady named Flavia. They found us a table and were so kind and helpful. The food was delicious, atmosphere and service was amazing. Highly recommend this place and another big thankyou for Jordan and Flavia for making my dughters day so special.

It is good in terms of the variety of food. Refill was quick. However, we were disappointed with the food quality. The oysters look great in photos but taste bad and fishy. Grill red meat wasn’t tender. The roasted duck wasn’t Chinese-style flavoured as it should be. Anyway, some Desserts were nice and the staff was great. Overpriced for the quality. Worth having a try but won’t be a return customer.

WOW. It’s expensive but the food is ALL amazing. Every dish felt like it could stand on its own in another restaurant. I absolutely loved it here. No doubt the best buffet I’ve had. There’s a huge selection which is always super abundant. Produce is fresh and dishes are flavourful.

Honestly... not too sure about all the negative reviews.... you must all be a bunch of Ken and Karens!! I could not fault this place. SO MANY different food stations, Seafood , meats , sashimi , deli , Asian , Indian, desserts , fruit and more. All of the highest quality. A very special mention to our host EMILY... warm , welcoming , talented, multitasker working well under pressure. An asset to the team.

Paid $150pp for a Monday lunch and was left very disappointed. The duck was really dry and the seafood selection was limited to only oysters, prawns, blue swimmer crabs (not king crab legs) and mussels so I didn't think I was able to get my moneys worth. The service was also a bit slow to clear plates and provide new rubbish bowls. An overrated place in my opinion.

Disappointed on their food quality, they are so so at best. Tasteless and hard lobster, melted ice cream to name a few. Service was ok but was rushed to pay and leave, even though the 2 hours was not up. You have to pay extra for coffee or tea.. overall, this is my first and last time coming. At this price, there are other better offer in the city.

Very basic food quality, including seafood and sushis were very average products. Lots of them, with no taste. Not worth it. Sunday service charge is another full charge for nothing as it is self serve restaurant. We asked for coffee waited over half an hour didn't arrive. The deserts were so basic, i was surprised with the cakes quality, supermarket cakes quality. Never again.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my mum’s birthday this year after hearing great things about its premium buffet, and it didn’t disappoint. Located on level five of Crown Sydney, the venue boasts a fantastic location. The buffet offered an impressive variety, including unlimited oysters, lobsters, crabs, seafood, steaks, and cuisines from around the world (Asian, Indian, Italian, and more). We arrived at 12:45 PM and didn’t leave until nearly 3 PM, thoroughly enjoying the experience. The value for money was excellent, and if you’re lucky enough to sit on the right side of the restaurant, you’ll enjoy stunning views as well. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful, making the celebration even more special. Overall, it was a great experience.

My girls and I went here for brunch, and it was really tasty. The food was delicious and very affordable.

If you are paying premium price for a buffet, this was not with it at all. All the hype ended with a disappointment. Although there was variety, most was not worth the price tag.

good

Unlimited seafood buffet was very nice. However I felt the seafood wasn’t as fresh as other restaurants I’ve been to. We had a host for our table, ensuring everything was great and our drinks were full. Atmosphere was great. Overall would recommend as I’ve been there multiple times already!

There was an abundance of food. The hot food was disappointing as it could've been cooked better - most of it was overcooked sadly. The seafood is a crowd favourite and I enjoyed the oysters, pipis and king crab. The lobster tail was tough and not tasty. The fruit was probably the best part as it was all sweet and in season. Unfortunately my partner and I definitely did not eat our worth - Thursday dinner was $135 each plus credit card surcharge.

Bad service. People are mean and nasty

Appalling customer service , unapologetic when it’s their own fault, who does these people think they are.

Great food and service Value for money

Un-lawful surcharges…beware Honestly, the food, the service and the atmosphere was flawless. There was such a wide selection of food which was all very fresh. My only concern is an unlawful surcharge for a Sunday. Monday to Thursday it is 95$ per person, Sunday they will charge $145 per person. Any sane person would call this a surcharge and I believe it is justified since there is a lot of staff in the kitchen, waiting tables and beyond and obviously they would be paid penalty rates on a Sunday so I can fully respect the rate going up on a Sunday. However, charging an extra surcharge of $105 for it being Sunday on top of that makes absolutely no sense. I tried asking the staff what was the purpose of the secondary surcharge and was met with the answer “I cannot answer your question because I do not know the answer”. Again, I respect the honesty of the staff. I am concerned that if the staff don’t even know the reason for the surcharge, then how is anybody else going to explain it. It is unlawful and outright stupid. I would be giving 5 stars for this venue if it wasn’t for this small issue. I would highly recommend that this surcharge be removed or simply just put up the initial $145 Sunday rate to cover this surcharge and customers would be none the wiser. I would of happily paid $200 per person as the food was that great. I went for a good feed, didn’t expect to be fed with a side of bulls**t. Lastly, can’t believe they build such a gigantic place but only have $130 per car parking. Bad planning if you ask me, again nothing to do with epicurean. Thank you to the team otherwise, I know that they do not generate the cost, it is people above them that make these decisions 👍🏼

One of the best buffets we’ve ever been to! • Cleanliness: 10/10 • Quantity & Variety of Food: 10/10 • Quality & Taste: 10/10 • Service: 10/10 An exceptional dining experience - highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful Christmas dinner at Epicurean at Crown Sydney, and it was an experience that truly exceeded all expectations. While it is on the pricier side, it’s undoubtedly worth every cent for the exceptional quality, variety, and service. The fresh seafood was absolutely stunning—particularly the oysters, which were so fresh and flavorful. The selection of meats was generous, and we were spoiled for choice with international delights, including Peking duck, Indian food, and pasta—each dish better than the last. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, and the cheese selection was a perfect way to round off the meal. One of the standout moments was when the staff cooked the king crab legs for me, adding such a personal and thoughtful touch to the evening. The atmosphere was elegant and festive, and the service was impeccable throughout. Every dish was presented with care and bursting with flavor, reflecting the high standards Epicurean is known for. If you’re looking for a luxurious and memorable dining experience, Epicurean is the place to go. We left thoroughly satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit.

5 of us + 1 child. Over $1000 for a buffet. Mentioned when we confirmed the booking that our son wouldn’t eat the buffet was told by the the wait staff who sat us that “if I see him eat a Smartie” I will charge you $77.00 for his meal. Same waiter when ordered a bottle of still and sparkling water “I will bring some tap water too. Your son can drink that.” Our son ate nothing except he had a raspberry jelly from my dessert plate. This was enough for the waiter to LEAVE A NOTE ON OUR BILL that our son ate and should be charged $77. 00. The manager was called and she “on this occasion” removed the charge. Damage had been done! Food 150% more expensive than other Sydney hotels. Sat on chairs missing upholstery on the seat. Lots of wait staff BUT we had to ask for things rather than anticipating our needs. All in all, 5 of us who won’t be back. You can have the best spot in Sydney and great food ( it was ok) but when the wait staff don’t put the customer first, you will have slash and burn.

The food was great. However, the staff (I am not sure if she is the receptionist or the leader) was very rude and had no patience at all. The way she solve problems was very unprofessional, she did not even understand what my point was, then interrupted me and started her endless talking. It was like she was the big boss, and it was too generous for her to explain the thing for us. She just simply ruined our day. Thank you :)

I attended the Epicurean for breakfast at the Crown Sydney at 8am on 05/12/2024, for a work event. It is a key and crucial fact to note that I am a devout Muslim and there were countless other Muslims dining at the Epicurean whilst we were there as a team. I had specifically ordered eggs with smoked salmon, however, when my eggs came out they were made with ham. Not knowing what ham tastes like, and due to the eggs being wrapped, I continued to eat until a colleague pointed out that I was eating ham and not salmon. I had to immediately spit out the food and asked the waitress if there was ham in my food, she was very apologetic and said she would call a supervisor. When the supervisor attended, he confirmed it was ham and apologised (which seemed very insincere) by saying unfortunately it had happened and he could not undo what had been done, but apologised and said they would remake my order. Another supervisor then came back and said they didn’t mean it as disrespect and showed me my order card to confirm I did not fill it incorrectly, but the kitchen made a mistake. At this point I was extremely upset because the way management went about it seemed like this was a miniscule issue that was of minor inconvenience, whereas this is a huge deal in regards to my faith and I can only imagine how many other Muslims have consumed ham products without knowing at the Epicurean. The fact that management showed little to no concern, and infact seemed somewhat inconvenienced by my complaint is astonishing from a brand like the Crown. I am not one to make food complaints, however, I feel this needs to be raised and the Muslim community should also be made aware of the disregard for dietary requirements by the crown. After management came out the second time I asked for their names which suddenly changed their demeanours and the first supervisor came back and apologised again and refunded the entire breakfast to my manager, who was the one paying for the breakfast, even in this situation, the issue was not addressed and an insincere refund was given to my manager. Management also said they would come back and write their names for me, however, this did not happen and everyone suddenly disappeared after refunding the breakfast so I could not get any names. I am extremely disappointed in what has happened and I am leaving a public review of what has occurred, which is very rare for me to do. The eggs that were re-made were left practically untouched by me and I ate fruit etc for the remaining time as I felt like vomiting and needed something to get the taste out of my mouth. This has been an extremely distressing ordeal and I had planned to have breakfast at the Crown after getting married next year, however, this has been cancelled, as I cannot guarantee that my religious beliefs will be respected. I will also consider making a complaint to the legislative body as this seems to be a non issue for the Crown, but a huge discriminatory issue. The second supervisor that came around took my name and number and said someone would reach out to me for what had happened and would return with the names of the supervisors I spoke to, but till this day, I have received nil correspondence. Which reflects dishonesty and concealment under the rug on part of the Crown. I would highly recommend to any Muslim attending the Epicurean to be extremely diligent and not blindly bite into their food, especially eggs. Ensure you cut into the contents of your food and inspect it prior to consuming.

The experience was so so. I'm disappointed you can feel sand particles in the sub standard oysters... overall I feel there could be a better dinner place else where.

Went to celebrate my friends birthday last Tuesday for dinner. Very disappointed been here many times, cooked dishes had no taste and meat are tough and full of MSG.. Seafood were frozen also had no taste except for the oysters.

Seafood galore, tasty variety of food and desserts .. best buffet in Sydney….

Restaurant without airconditioning? Really? staff and manager said it was reported but from the time we start until we left, we weee all sweating so bad. Had a festive lunch and was ripped off with $145. No crabs no lobsters no bugs. Same set of food. Drinks included with limited to no options. 1 glass of drink won’t cost you $45! The chairs? Unrealistically filthy! How can you operate with a nasty chairs? and tables are too close to each other. I had high expectations with the hype of all social media posts but apparently, this is way way below average. Won’t recommend this to anyone.
