I come to this pub for lunch often, and the food is generally good. However, a few things are frustrating. When ordering a chicken schnitzel from the lunch special, the staff ask what sauce you’d like but don’t mention it costs extra. I wouldn’t mind paying the $2, but the sauce is inconsistent—sometimes good, sometimes not. One of the main reasons I don’t even bother ordering it anymore is because of how they try to upsell it in a sneaky way, making it seem like it’s included. If they were upfront about it, I might actually consider it, but between the inconsistency and the way it’s pushed, I just avoid it altogether. The QR codes on the tables also don’t always work, and I’ve seen other reviews mention the same issue. I assume it’s because the pub has to pay for the service and because they can’t upsell as easily through the app. When the QR codes do work, some food photos are misleading—like meals appearing to come with chips when they don’t. Overall, I get the vibe that they’re trying to squeeze out every dollar, which I understand to some extent, but it comes across as a little desperate. Instead of being sneaky with regular customers, they should appreciate the fact that people keep coming back. A bit more transparency and consistency would go a long way in making the experience better.

Great local bar with excellent food. Meal specials at lunch most days and a daily dinner special like pasta on Monday for $18. The pasta is super tasty and pub classics are all done well. Covered outdoor or indoor seating.

We had pleasure having dinner at Village Crown. The atmosphere was very pleasant, more than ordinary pubs. Has nice vibe in decoration, high ceilings and big window, as well as large TV. Staff was friendly, although doesn’t offer a table service. We ordered pork gyoza for entree, which was excellent. Although they were smaller gyoza I have ever seen, like half of standard store bought gyoza, lots of flavour in them. For main, we ordered Bangers and mash, and zucchini flower pesto pasta. Bangers and mash tasted like humble standard sausages and mashed potatoes. This pasta dish was interesting… with toooooo strong funnel flavour and soggy in too much olive oil but not enough basil in pesto. Zucchini flowers were bland… but good part was the pasta itself, was well cooked to al dante with good thickness and consistency. Certainly there is room to improve, but we enjoyed the dinner out overall.

Great staff and menus and modern technology

This venue is such a find. We had a beautiful steak lunch and the peppercorn condiment was outstanding - not like the generic whole peppercorns and bland anaemic sauce that you normally get. The venue manager Pearl is a wonderful host, and it was such a pleasure to meet her. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome.Pearl was next level of management, professionalism and leadership. We will come again because of HER. Pearl is a life changer 🤗

Random lunch on a day out with the kids. It was convenient to our day out so gave it a chance but very pleasantly surprised ! Great location on the street face of a local shopping precinct so there was parking inside but we also got an easy park in surrounding street with no restrictions on a Sunday. The decor inside was fresh and inviting. The one thing letting it down was the ripped material on the bench seats but easily overlooked by the remaining decor. The one thing I will give them flawless marks for was the service - all the ladies at the front of house were very attentive, patient and I appreciated how they worked as a team. The kids were starving so declared the chips with their meals to be the best ever - yes they were good but the thing I really noticed was the drink + ice cream automatically came with the kids meals which is definitely a much appreciated addition to a pub meal. My husband had the steak, which he enjoyed and I can attest that it was very tasty. I also give a thumbs up to the sweet potatoes fries. I would also like to comment on the music being played - a good relaxed mix of easy rock of a certain age which just gave the atmosphere an easy going vibe. If I lived in the area I’d def be down here often. It also had a large section of outdoor seating that was very dog friendly. Great little pub. If we’re ever back in the area I wouldn’t hesitate to drop in and try something else on the menu.

The Sunday Roast was incredibly disappointing. Overcooked and dry lamb, served with veggies that had the texture and flavour of reheated leftovers.

‏On Monday night, my family and I visited your restaurant at 8:50 PM. Despite being told we had 10 minutes to order, we were met with poor service and disrespect. After ordering food and drinks promptly, we waited for our food and drinks and when the food arrived I politely asked for my drink which was just a shot of Hennessy . Also When I politely asked for ketchup and inquired about a manager, the staff member (who claimed to be the manager mentioned that it's her family business and she lost it) began yelling and screaming at me in front of my family, including a 3-year-old child. Her aggressive behavior continued even after her father came out and apologized, and she confronted us again as we left. ‏This was the worst experience I’ve witnessed in my hospitality career. Your manager’s unprofessional and hostile behavior is unacceptable. We left without our drinks, a refund, or basic respect. This is not how customers should be treated, especially a family visiting from overseas. I expect accountability for this shocking incident. ‏Disappointed and embarrassed for your establishmen

Wings superb,burgers and chips great. Avoid steak absolute rubbish, worst I've had in a long time.

It was very, very good! The chicken wings were so good! The service was exceptionally good too! I am going to come here often! This place has everything I want!!! I wish everyone could try the wings here! And a beautiful lady called pearl is very nice, me and my friends both love her!

We went to the village crown multiple times last month, I definitely recommend coming for the Sunday Roast or the hot wings as both were phenomenal. The service was amazing, especially Pearl, she was incredibly fun, kind and accommodating to our needs. If you want a great dinner I definitely recommend going here!

We booked in for lunch Saturday 4th January. We were late due to an accident on the M1. They were so accommodating. Atmosphere was great. Not noisy. Staff were welcoming, food was amazing. We had chicken caesar salads, t-bone steak, garlic prawns and calamari. My husband said it was the best calamari he had ever had. Quality of food was 10/10. Definitely will be back when we visit Sydney again.

A funky modern restaurant/bar looks super visually appealing from the street. Where we had no issue parking. Greeted by the friendly staff members Fancy & Adot, who were extremely welcoming, alerted us to the specials and made great food recommendations. The Peroni was served super cold in equally as cold glass, while the Pikorua was super cold also filled the the rim. We chose Schnitzels, Steaks, and Korean style burgers, all exceptional!! The quality of our meals far exceeded our expectations, and we were surprised at the value we'd received. We're from Western Sydney, but would not be shy to recommend to our friends, or come back for the dining experience.

Came on a Tuesday for a trivia night with friends. Nice pub in the middle of Zetland and in the shopping center. Parking is super easy either in the streets or in the shopping center. Trivia was fun. Food is ordered through the app. Usual pub food but some French treats like escargot. I had the cheese Burger which was good. Friends had the bowls, banger and mash and the pie which looked and according to them were great too. Definitely would be back.

This pub used to be our local. It’s now beyond a joke. 40 min wait in a pretty empty pub for a steak sandwich and bowl of chips to then realise it’s been sitting on the pass for it to go completely soggy is annoying. When the owner spends ALL his time at a table drinking white wine instead of managing the pub it’s pretty obvious why this place has ended up the depressing hole it now is. Don’t get me started on the bathrooms - gross. Good luck to you - the only reason anyone is still visiting is because you’re the only pub in the vicinity of plenty of apartment buildings!

I’m sorry but does this meal look like it should take 1 hour and 20 minutes to come to you? Not to mention the rice tasted like it was 2 minute microwaved rice. Heavily understaffed and overpriced, the waitress who was cleaning tables tonight is the only reason why this place got 2 stars she was doing everything!!!

The staff was soo lovely - the food was excellent. We came from NT for the Arias and ended up having some beautiful food, with great conversation. If you are in the east, its definitely a go to joint!

Had a lovely dinner here for our anniversary. We are accustomed to fine dining but wanted to try something different. Everything was lovely, the scallops a standout! Starter, main and desert came out together without telling us this how they do it when ordering. Also forgot one of our main meals. Food wasn't any good, we left all 4 main meals and starters half eaten. good part was the ice cream. Only good thing is they have a good pint of beer and whisky collection. Recommended for drink not food

Bonne ambiance et bon burger

My family and I had an amazing time! Although one of our dishes came out very late our waiter Pearl went above and beyond to ensure we the mistake was rectified positively. We were amazed by her service and how she really took care of us. If you are coming to this resto be sure to ask for Pearl for an extra treat experience.

Came alone to have a drink. Once I came in, the waitress just directly told me to scan QR code and check the menu. No service at all. Then every meal TOOK FOREVER! I didn't get the last order of 2 chicken skewers and I cancelled it. The wine and cocktail are both average, but it was the worst service I've ever experienced in Sydney!

Waited over 10 mins for a soft drink - had to go up to the bar and ask for it. No apology given from staff.

My review is primarily based off my 'Event Booking' experience. I sent an enquiry in and received a reply a few days later. This reply was 15 days prior to the small 25-30 person event. I have since received no communication. No response to my 3 emails, no returned calls after leaving a voicemail or two. I even sent a message via their social media & am yet to be contacted. If you are going to offer Event Bookings, perhaps look into better ways to manage these.

I got the lunch special. Excellent schnitty, super crispy. Mushroom sauce was delicious, chips were really crunchy. Portion size was good, and they allow dogs outside. Bar staff friendly and helpful.

Quite an interesting place. I have only been here when its quite, however had an older gentleman walking around with a table of wine glasses. He put on some interesting visuals on the big screen, unsure if he is a manager or just a local. Had music playing from the screen whilst the bar had some already nice music. Just made the mood a little interesting and not very inviting. I didnt have the food, so cant comment on that but I suspect is okay for price going off other reviews. Beer is okay, $11 for a schooner is a little sharp I think although they do a $6.50 happy hour on some of their beers.

We just had dinner here and couldn’t eat the food. It’s was dry and bland. We waited for over 30 minutes after eating and nobody took our plates away, we had to do it ourselves. Also over priced for pub food. Won’t be back!!!!

Have come to this venue many times for a drink and finally had their food. It's good pub grub. They also have specials, which are great value. My mate had the $15 rump steak on a Wednesday night and rated it. My fish and chips were good too. It's a great spot on a sunny day. Expect it to be busy on sunny days, public holidays and Tuesday night trivia.

A cosy, warm atmosphere with friendly bar staff and excellent food and drinks. The many meals I've had here are really beyond the average. Favourites are special Miso Beurre Berre Salmon and Guiness Pie. Also in love with the KFC Korean Fried Chicken Burger and buffalo wings. A nice amount of spice!

Went to Village Crown with my friend last weekend. The vibes here wasn't as noisy or crowded as any usual pub restaurant but it was peaceful, with soft music so you can enjoy your meal and have a good conversation or catch up with your family or friends. The highlight dishes for us was their Escargot with tarragon butter, Scallops with Kombu butter and their Marbled Striploin steak!! It was cooked to perfection. The flavours were just delicious with their creamy mushroom sauce. Would definitely go back again to try out their upcoming new menu soon.

Went here for $18 steaks on Wednesday after the gym. They do a nice piece of steak cooked to your preference with good chips and a little side salad. A glass of wine is around $12-15. For 3 people we spent around $80 which included 3 steaks, 2 wines and a soft drink. Service was prompt and it was a busy family vibe on Wednesdays around 7pm. They also have happy hour cocktails during the week!

Charges $13 for a asahi schooner but puts it in a 300ml asahi decoration cup hoping people don’t notice. Food is nice but come on, fill your sauce to the rim of your sauce pot for the snittys.

Everything was amazing. We ordered the American beef ribs,Mornay lobster and hanging kebab, they were all very tasty and perfectly cooked. We were served by staffs who were very attentive and welcoming. Nice cocktails and really relax ambiance. This was our first time and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Calamari was too spicy. The roasted vegetable portion, for $12, was tiny and a rip off. I have been coming to this pub for ten years. Am not impressed with this new menu. Many delicious dishes are no longer available. Would appreciate a response from owner

I’ve been to this place twice and this place is so yummy ! Their new menu is unique for pub food and innovative. We’ve tried the following: Buffalo wings Irish space bag Crispy pork belly bite Dakbal burger Everything was super delicious. The buffalo wings had the perfect amount of zest and spice. The Irish space bag was extremely unique, and great pub food addition. Gravy was amazing. The chips had a great crunch and the gravy was amazing. The Pork belly bites were extremely flavourful while not being or feeling greasy at all. Perfect nibbles and entrees. The dakbal burger came with some of the best chips I’ve tried at any restaurant. Perfectly seasoned and crunchy while soft in the centre. The dakbal burger had flavourful sauce while not being overpowering and the kimchi slaw was a great match for the fried chicken. The ambience was great and I would recommend the trivia here. The staff were all kind and accomodating.

The Irish lad has turned the place around! Both service and food have made a great comeback. Overall the menu is well cooked these days but the tomato soup has to be the winner 🏆 ⭐️ Best I’ve had.

Incredibly disappointing to see the shocking prices of food. Totally understand inflationary pressures, but reducing food portions and potentially increasing the prices by 20-30% doesn't make any sense at all.

food that arrived was not what was described on menu, pita bread with vegetable dips meaning more than one just measly pieces of bread with humus but when asked for more bread $6 charge was required fish n chips the fish looked like frozen packet type very average won't eat here again
