Hotel Maroubra

Great local pub.

Hotel Maroubra is a hotel located in the middle of Maroubra road, next to Pacific Square. This hotel is in a dilemma with a review in my eyes. I haven't stayed in a room here. However, I have dined here several times. I definitely didn't mind the food. It seems pretty average for a hotel, nothing very special! The drinks take forever to hit the table, its almost they started farming for mints in a garden for my Majito. The pokies in the back look depressing, very cramped and full of fellas smoking, and seemingly spinning their earnings away. Overall, a semi decent hotel, nothing special.

I think the beer is a bit expensive service is average.

Terrible experience. Security extremely rude and disrespectful to patrons.

Average dinner experience. Barramundi was ok. Scotch fillet steak was only half eaten (had a weird smell and taste). The sides served were however good (mash, cauliflower bake and steamed greens). Serving staff unfriendly and bored.

Hotel maroubra is amazing. The food is the best in the area by far !

The main security guard there sits around and plays pokies all night whilst on shift.

I go to this pub whenever I'm in the junction & I've ALWAYS had a good time. Great place to just RELAX.

Surprisingly the food was good. Service was easy and quick. No hassle. We ordered salmon fettuccine and eggplant parmigiana for lunch and they were great and tasty

The lamb's fry was superb ! Service was friendly and efficient. The overall bistro menu was very good !

My local pub service good staff friendly place clean has rooms to rent but don't know much about costs conditions location across the road from Maroubra mall plus shops all around you should have a good time.

The food is so underrated in this place, it's a hidden gem, we ordered risotto mushroom & grilled halloumi Salad, the order was fast, the gentleman we ordered from was courteous & friendly (think his name is Moritcio) he called us when the food was ready, placed it on the table for us, portion size is generous, BUT the taste was a whole another story of goodness. Thank you

I have eaten in alot of pubs and this place stands out. I have had 4 meals now at this place and each time was surprised by the level of food served. It is pub food cooked well. The chef deserves a raise! I want him or her to keep working here so I can keep coming here for good food. The prices r very reasonable considering the inflation. Well done chef. U r serving restaurant quality food. Hats off to u for proper good chefing!

The recent ‘spare no expense’ renovation and restoration is outstanding! If you are in the Maroubra area and you are looking for up-spec pub food options, this is the place. The new menu is fantastic. The bistro has limited patronage for lunch, so it is a great place to have a chat with friends over lunch. My absolute favourite place for lunch in Maroubra and is a well kept local secret. I love the special of the day, I have never been disappointed. My favourite here is the Maroubra pie, it’s actually not a pie but a lamb shank with a piece of pastry. I also love the lamb backstrap which is delicious. You cannot get a better rump steak any where else if you are a steak eater, you get to choose three sides with plenty of choice. I have attached some photos for you to get an idea. Staff are excellent, overseas trained and very professional. The bar area is pub style, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Excellent food taste and quality with an amazing variety. Generous portion food and drinks and at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Has multiple venues within including an outdoor smoking area

I used to come here once a week because they have an amazing food and the price used to be fair , but a few weeks ago they increased the prices around 5-6 Dolar . Now is the place to go once a month.

They hosted an awesome time for my friends birthday , welcome to the idea of our own DJ , a manager Mitzi or however had created nice cocktails and service for us. Recommend for a chilled out night. A good night.

Went for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Had grilled chicken and 3 sides of which there were quite a few to choose from. I had cauliflower bake, pub chips and greens - delicious! Dessert was also delicious - chocolate brownie and icecream. Everything well presented; staff very attentive and friendly. We were very happy with our dinner, and full!!!

Great pub to have food and drinks after work. We even got to taste their ‘secret margarita’ 🍸🤩 The kitchen cooks delicious meals and we visit once a week to have either their specials (mad authentic Brazilian food) or the stake. Make sure you have the Dijon sauce if you order the stake - or anything really. Lastly: it’s hard to find more friendly staff. Congrats for creating a great local with a good vibe 🤟🏼

Awesome food here and nice outdoor atea

Went for dinner with my friend just before lockdown came into effect recently. One of the waitresses who was delivering food to the tables was showing obvious signs of a cold or flu. It turned us off our food & we struggled to finish our meals. Two days later my friend got very sick with the same flu like symptoms the waitress had!! One guess as to how she got it. Why the hell wouldn't management send this girl & her germs home. Very unhygienic....yuk! Take care peeps

The last 3 times I have been there I have been served the incorrect meal. After 16yrs of loyal patronage I today made the decision to never return.

The place has friendly waitresses and nice food but unfortunately management is horrifying. Damon (one of the managers) is inconsiderate, rude, lacks communication skills and manners all together. My husband and I were regulars of the bistro for over 4 years but Damon mistreated us twice in two different occasions in the last few months. In the first occasion it was due to the fact that they started charging for sauces for the main courses, which never happened in the previous years, so we wanted to understand why the sudden change. Damon was rude and told my husband and I not to come back. We’ve avoided him since. Today he was rude again and told me to leave. All of this because I told him I had previously registered with the son of the owner upon entering the hotel. He asked me for my information again and I told him I had already been in, registered and ordered food for takeaway and he continued being unpleasant when speaking to me. I told him then that I was only going to let my husband know I would be waiting for him outside and he still didn’t let me go through to quickly speak to him. He kept telling me to get out and not to come back. My husband heard me calling and came to my aid. Zero for customer service. Be aware of Damon and this place.

The bistro is charging for the sauces and gravy that always came included with meals. And they are deliberately not telling patrons it's now being charged for. They've lost 4 regular patrons from mygroup of friends who used to eat there every week because of the principle. Way to rub up your regulars the wrong way and lose customers Maroubra Junction Hotel...

Poor service and hospitality. Wouldn’t ever support this place, especially with the racially insensitive signage management has displayed. Shame on you!
