We have held a few functions at the Gaslight inn and it is honestly the best place for an event! Yam is so accommodating and friendly! We held our engagement party at the weekend and all of our guests have said how great the night was! Thanks again to everyone!

I WISH I COULD LEAVE 70 STARS!!! There are no words that could describe the amazing value we got for this hire. The staff went well beyond what we expected to be what we get for our money. Including - helping my mother pack down the entire party at 10am the next morning and assisting my disabled father down from his accomodation at 9am. I don't even think the staff were technically on duty! The venue was perfect, the service was perfect, the cocktails were great! I'd happily book the room for a random night out. Can't wait to do it again!! Tom & Yam are legends. Do not think twice - book this venue!

Awesome place to have a party at a reasonable price. Management is easy to deal with & the staff are efficient. Bring decorations & make the space your own.

I had my 30th birthday party at the Gaslight Inn and it was amazing. Yam took care of everything for me. We had a lot of fun!

This is my fourth event at Gaslight Inn, and every time has been amazing! I've hosted my birthdays and Halloween parties here, and the experience has always been outstanding. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the manager, Yam, is always willing to help and very proactive. I’m genuinely happy with the entire venue. I highly recommend Gaslight Inn for any function—or even just to enjoy a weekend! They offer a great atmosphere, delicious food, and a wonderful vibe!!! The location is 10/10 near to everything around Oxford St. The only issue is they have to close 3 am, and I which could stay a bit longer haha.

I recently had a 21st birthday party at the Gaslight and it was an amazing night. The space is perfect for birthdays and the service was incredible. The management team were so accommodating and made the whole process a breeze. Couldn't recommend highly enough and will hopefully be back for many more birthdays!

I have stayed 2x 2 nights in one-person room (#5). On average I believe that it is good value for money. Best thing: it is very clean. Not so: if the bar downstairs has an event, then it will be quite noisy until 1am/2am. My experience was on a Saturday evening. If you are allergic to background music, then this is not the place for you (on a Saturday). I had no trouble sleeping through it btw.

Fantastic service and great location, Room was tiny but it was clean and had everything needed ,TV and Heating/cooling. This place would be ideal for a small group to book out seeing as the amenities are shared which includes a small kitchenette and a loungeroom with large TV , plus a bar 1 level down and great location.

I recently stayed at The Gaslight inn at Crown Street in Darlinghurst. The clean, spacious studio had a huge deck and a large kitchen area. The friendly staff welcomed me back for a second visit with open arms. It’s private, affordable, and not to be missed. Five stars!

After getting harassed and verbally abused by the security guard for taking my medication outside, the security guard try bully and harrass me and I verbally defended myself, and manager insisted on invasively checking my medication for labels, then lied about it. Apparently my anger at this harassment caused the management to be concerned. Most people are angry at being verbally abused and discriminated against. He'd better have actioned a full refund. I'm a veteran, who takes medication. I don't remember signing up for prescription papers checks by bouncers everytime I take my medication outside.

I had my cowgirl themed birthday party here! My guests and I had such a FANTASTIC night! The Gaslight Inn mangers were amazing help with the organisation of the party and were so efficient when replying to any queries or concerns! The staff on the night were so helpful and kind. I would definitely consider having another birthday or event here again!

I recently hosted my 30th birthday at The Gaslight Inn and it was honestly the most perfect night!! 🙌🏾 Having 150 guests attend, the venue had sufficient space for people to sit either inside with the various nooks or outside on the deck, plenty of room for people to dance and a section for the catering which I was able to bring in externally! 🥪 The bar was fully stocked and had many options for beers, wines, spirits and cocktails were very fairly priced and much cheaper than your usual Sydney venue!! 🍹 Most importantly, the staff were so helpful — the managers (Yam, Tom and Bo) were so pleasant to organise this event with! They had great communication from the moment I made my first enquiry up to the day of the actual event which made it super easy to arrange everything I needed and I couldn’t not be happier with the service of them and their staff on the night!! 👏🏾 I was also able to bring in my own music and they supplied screens, microphones for speeches and accommodates for any needs I had! 💯 I am thrilled to have had my event here and would highly recommend this venue!!! 🥳

I thought the venue was terrific for Bday party - I like that it had 3 different sections were people could sit: the back with very comfortable couches, the main room with the bar and were the DJ was playing and the balcony were we had a fabulous paella! The staff was amazing- we were able to get in the morning to decorate the place like a studio 54 set. I was very happy with the results!!

These guys are soooo lovely and sweet, best service ever, nothing was a trouble! We had a function here on the weekend and I’d definitely recommend it. The venue was an excellent space for a private party. It’s super flexible to make it your own, as you can bring own decorations, food and music. We had a great time ⭐️🎶🕺

An absolute beast of a venue with a terrace, a bar with a good selection of drinks, delicious food platters and a spacious lounge area to relax. Tom and Yam - the two managers were amazing from the very start to the end. Extremely friendly staff. Thank you team for making my bux night a memorable one.

Had a blast celebrating my farewell and birthday at Gaslight Inn! The spacious venue easily accommodated my group of 80, and the friendly bar staff served up great finger food. Bonus points for the plug-and-play music setup! 🎉🥂

I had my 40th birthday at this venue and highly recommend it. The minimum bar tab is very reasonable compared to other places I contacted and the drink prices are decent too (eg $15 espresso martinis) so the tab stretches further. They're very flexible with you supplying your own catering and arriving early to decorate etc. The space is deceivingly big and has a nice outdoor terrace too as well as the indoor area. Overall 10/10 I would happily book other events here.

I hosted my 21st party here at Gaslight Inn and they were fantastic. From the prep to the party itself I had a blast and felt as though everything went really smoothly with strong communication from the staff at all times.

I really liked the vibe of this place and the security guard who was standing outside the place checking everybody’s ID.. he was looking after all three entries which is commendable and was very polite with us … his memory was so sharp that he even remembered my friend who visited this place one time before… my overall experience here was great and I’m surely hosting my next event here…🔥🔥

First time visit on public holiday.. pretty quiet at 4pm😅 but outside bar area has such a nice vibes and friendly stuff are soo good

Busy Saturday night in the survey hills and the so called bouncer/doorman is outside on his phone, very unprofessional for starters . Them when I got closer I realized he was not displaying his ID or license being shown on his arm. Wearing a hi viz bib, doesn’t give a good first impression for this establishment, place was okay apart from that.

I wish I could rate them higher! I hosted a birthday party here and we had the absolute best time. We had full access to the aux and music, the entire room upstairs to ourselves, and plenty of space to dance and go crazy. The cocktails were incredible- both in price and in taste, and it was an incredible bargain. The space is also the cutest- I am obsessed. The staff are absolutely incredible- communicative both over the phone and over email, and they had everything sorted out for me so that all I had to do was show up... They also let me rent it all night instead of only a limit of 4-5 hour hire like other venues. Their bar staff were amazing, and we had the absolute best time. We will be back for round 2!

Really good venue for indoor bookings and gatherings with a great bar selection. The toilets are really small and cramped upstairs, so if it gets dirty it can get quite icky to use. Really great flexibility to be able to host your own events so highly recommend it!

Great place to host a function, the staff are super friendly and accomodating after their mix up with our dietary requests. The place is clean and spacious spanning several rooms. We ordered several platters which included a variety of fried finger foods, and also had a bar tab which was super convenient. Would recommend!

I recently hosted an event for my friends and supporters of my music. I wanted a space where we could all feel comfortable and safe as the world is a weird place right now and the club setting is a bit much lately but let me just say that the Gaslight staff went above and beyond! They treated us with respect, made us all feel welcomed and they gave us the most hospitable service we could have imagined. Their manager Yam really stretched himself thin to make sure we had a great time and we did! Much love and respect to The Gaslight inn. We'll be back soon!

Service from Yams, Robert and all wait staff was excellent. Venue is highly affordable and the aesthetic is a lovely, classic city venue. Dancefloor accommodates for live act or DJ and the seating in seperate area is still included while being its own space. Terrace balcony also gets to stay a part of the party while people disappear for a smoke because it's close to where the action is. Wouldn't mind having another party here at all. Wonderful venue and so affordable!

hosted a birthday party here and had a great time :) The function space was perfect: large, aesthetic and had both quiet lounge areas and rowdy bar areas for different crowds. It was also super affordable and the staff were very flexible, allowing me to decorate and plan my party freely without being binded by overpriced party packages. Would definitely recommend the Gaslight as an ideal function location!

Awful experience. We attended a private function with about 40 people. Drinks taste terrible - probably watered down. Service sub standard. The food platters were dreadful - can’t believe they actually brought them out - the party host was soooo embarrassed!! To top it off the female security guard, who was 100% mad as a cut snake, was also rude, judgemental and incapable of differentiating people having fun and being drunk. We will NEVER go here again and strongly advise you avoid!

Security was awful the lady kicked my cousins out for no reason, she claimed we drank to much, when we only had 3 drinks each. There was rats around the balcony crawling around, and the drinks tasted awful

I LOVED" the Gaslight Inn too much. I was mainly utilising the Game Facilities. Fantastic Gaming Facilities. I prefer the smaller Gaming Facity Areas than large or huge ones."
