Very noisy.

Had a delightful lunch at the restaurant in the Ophir Hotel, Orange today. Food was delicious and service outstanding. A very spacious eatery with outdoor or indoor dining available. Would highly recommend to those who a looking for a sizeable meal Range of specials on offer. The seafood board was very filling with very fresh seafood all round Peter and Mary (Brisbane visitors to Orange)

Good food and service. It can be a little noisy at times as It caters to lots of people at times. The playground is fantastic for a variety of ages. Parents can easily keep an eye on activities. Good friendly staff.

A good pub meal on a Sunday afternoon. Busy but good quick service and reasonably priced meal. Family friendly.

Separate fryer for chips so they are not contaminated with items containing gluten - great for people with an allergy or Coeliac disease.

Great place to eat with fantastic food and great atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and willing to help.....put that with magnificent food and you have the best place to go in town. We are from Brisbane and wish we had the hotel there. Prices were very reasonable for dunks and food.

Right next to a McDonald if you have kids. The accommodation check-in is at the bar on the side with the roll-up garage door and three parking spots. The other side is the restaurant. Both are under the same title. The rooms look more like a nice room for relaxation than just a place to stay the night.

Loved visiting here for lunch while passing through on a long drive. The kids playground was awesome and the food super nice and good value and very generous in their size.

Don’t recommend for families with preschoolers, probably just older kids. Tonight was our second visit and both times there have been large crowds of older kids (including teens) running and playing extremely rough in the play area. We saw multiple younger kids get injured tonight, and our 4yo son was shoulder charged to the ground. No adult supervision at all, and the staff didn’t say anything. really not safe for younger kids. Mind you this was at 5:15pm, so it wasn’t the later crowd. Edited after owner response: Yes this was brought to the attention of staff on the night, and no they did not do anything about it at all.

Had a meal Friday evening, Food was just beautiful, quick service and waite staff.

Great pub food at reasonable prices, and the customer service was really good. The karaoke later on the Saturday night was also a lot of fun.

As always an awesome feed. I have been to the ophir for quite some time and very rarely do you get anything other then a good full meal.

We had lunch today at the Ophir & we were not disappointed. We started with garlic bread, then bruschetta (absolutely delicious). This arrived promptly, followed by lamb cutlets, seafood spaghetti & spaghetti bolognase. The seafood spaghetti stood out, it had a mild chilli sauce, clams, mussels, prawns & calamari. The cutlets & bolognase also great. We were there with our granddaughter & her newborn, so being served so quickly was another bonus. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal & outside there is an amazing outdoor eating area with a children's playground that would rival many restaurants. Go there, you won't be disappointed.

Lots of people. Nice food

Been to the Ophir a few times to eat and the food has always been really good. Much better than the other pub with a similar set up on the other side of town where it’s hit or miss with the quality of their food. My only suggestion would be to maybe put an extra shift on behind the bar during peak hour. I counted three bar staff serving literally a couple of hundred patrons in the hour and a half that I was there. Other than that, everything was very good and I’ll be back again.

Fantastic meals every time we come here. Great for big dinners with lots of people. Great prices, sizes and variety of meals too. Great for Coeliacs as they have separate oil fryers so you can have everything including chicken snitty's! As a coeliac I have eaten here several times without any symptoms.

Tried to call the office to enquire about a few things on a Friday night, phone was being picked up but then hung up. Not letting the call ring out just plain picking it up and then putting the phone down and hanging up. This happened several times, terrible customer service from the office receptionist. Btw, someone vomitted in the bin next to ATM.

Excellent value and good food quality. A more friendly service needs to be gained. Atmosphere is great. Kids meals are great.

This place could be lovely but unfortunately there is a giant red headed male security guard who intimidates patrons. A compliant to management should fix this but unfortunately his sister is the general manager so your complaints go no where.

This is our go to bistro when we have family get togethers. Great relaxed atmosphere, fantastic food and terrific service and prices. Our young grand children also love the play equipment .

We had our daughter’s birthday party here and booked out 3 cabanas. It was great. Staff were helpful, food was awesome. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

We recently held our end of season U/10's Dinner at the Ophir. They were so accommodating to our group of kids, their families & coaches. Food & service were amazing. Thank you for having us. Highly recommend

I organised a suprise party ,that had 80 guests. On a Saturday night the restaurants was fully booked out with other functions as well as us The staff where extremely helpful food was incredible every one very happy. Fast service in getting food out. Thankyou to all

Lamb shanks were prob the worst I've ever tried..like reheated ? Don't even taste like lamb ...kinda gone downhill the food here So tried the Tuesday tacos tonight,pretty sure I asked for the ground beef one but had a teaspoon of that if ....just fill of rabbit food ..I'll take it home for my lizard thanks

Very large modern single storey hotel with massive kids climbing playground, gambling room and bistro serving large portions.

This used to be one of my favourite, casual places to eat and drink at in Orange. The food was nearly always amazing, and the staff are pretty great and work hard. Not sure what has happened to the menu and food this year, but some meals have been a bit ordinary when compared to last year.

We received good and fast service, delicious food, great atmosphere and I would definitely come back again.

We have been back to the Ophir a number of times since my first post. I made mention a couple of times to the duty manager (different each time), that the tomatoes in the salad had no flavour and being out of season were not too presentable on the plate. I suggested substituting maybe beetroot or something similar in season would probably be a better option. The comments were taken on board and would be passed on to the Chef. Today, there were the tomatoes again, no change and still had no flavour but lots appeared in the salad. My partner chose a meal with salad but I chose a meal with vegetables, they were good. Please do something about the tomatoes. We will still support the Ophir and will also support other venues.

Always a very enjoyable time when ever we go for a meal.

Went here for a drink and dinner with a group. The service is good, there is plenty of room and quick delivery of food. The seafood platter was great but the six that had ribs and wings mentioned that the ribs were dry.

Haven't stayed, but the food is always spot on. Great value for the price. Great for families with young children since there is an outdoor playground.

Always good meal, staff friendly, great ambience and nice and warm. The daily specials are always good and a good size. Have had the steaks the last couple of visits cooked perfect. If you are into sports there are plenty of big screen TV's. Will be back.

The hotel is located slightly out of town (about 7 mins drive), and has a small handful of guest rooms. Really liked the security here as the rooms are behind security doors plus locked doors themselves. There's a small garden area with outside chairs for each room. Rooms are big and warm and the beds comfortable. Check in was easy and also easy to park the car right next to the gate to get in. Found it nice and quiet despite being next door to a loud family, the walls were thick enough for it not to be a real problem and nothing ear plugs didn't sort out! Full cutlery, plates and bowls provided but strangely no microwave which would have been a bonus for a quick breakfast. Otherwise a great overnight stay.

Reasonable value, and I would stay here again. Bathroom looked pretty tired (silicone around the edge of the shower etc.), and the small cake of soap they provided fell through the soap holder unless you balanced it very carefully. Hot water took a long time to come through to the shower, but was good once it got there (which is more than I can say about the hot water in the sink which never arrived despite running the tap for several minutes) Describing the room as having a kitchenette is a bit of an exaggeration (but I was aware of that prior to arriving thanks to other reviewers). They describe it as being a 15 minute walk into town, but that is a bit optimistic. It took me half an hour to walk to Woolworths, which I think is about in the middle of town ... As noted by other reviewers the television is pretty small by modern standards, but it's adequate.

A lovely hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helped us choose a nice local wine. Meals were great value and delicious. Would highly recommend.
