Food took a long time. Bao buns soggy and seemed very old. Steak was asked to me medium rare and came out well done. Small amount of mash and veggies compared to steak ratio. Very expensive for the quality

Food and wait staff where awesome, but your bar staff need to be a little more pleasant, very arrogant and rude .

Went to the Riv had the greatest meal ever. A Chicken Saltimbocca absolutely amazing. Worth every penny. Not skimpy on the taste white wine sauce. Fabulous 😊

Food was over cooked . Nice the staff and the place is great for a beer. Locals are friendly. Very dog friendly. One staff member broke that water and some treats.

A week in Wagga Wagga ~ The Riv was a perfect night out. I came for the Paella but they’d had a big lunch turnout and sold out, so I ordered the Zucchini Fries, so succulent like never before, and the Chicken Saltimbocca - Oh yeah!✅ that’s a ten. The Quilty & Gransden Merlot was superb as well. Thanks all at The Riv ❤️

Had been out for dinner and popped into the Riv for a quick drink before going home!!!!! well the service from Courtney was out standing .. i had a hot cappuccino served with a smile Hot and delicious the best I’ve had in town I guess I’ll have to pop in again for a quick cappuccino from Courtney. Well done. Keep up the service Courtney..👏👏👏

We were looked after by lovely young staff in both the bistro and bar. Food was great and service of drinks after dinner was great. Staff are super friendly, finding out through conversations that the staff were sisters. We will definitely be back.

The Riv would hands down have to be the best pub in Wagga! Went for dinner the other night. The food is 10/10. The lovely Bartender Flynn was absolutely AMAZING!! She was so attentive, kind, had a great work ethic and brought such a great vibe. Whoever the manager is there...this girl needs a pay rise!! Service and staff were amazing as always

Went for lunch through the week, food was amazing. Service by Chelsea on the counter was friendly and awesome. Great place all around. Managers should be proud of the workplace they are creating.

The young girl Miller who made delicious cookies and gave them to my kids was amazing. Such a bright smile and great customer service.

My family and I came to Riverina Hotel last Thursday for dinner. We had the delicious steak sandwiches and loved our visit which was made all the more enjoyable by the staff. We were served by a lovely young lady who had red hair and a bubbly personality (Emily maybe?).

We were passing through Wagga and needed lunch. Stopped at random and we were really surprised and happy with the lunch specials. The steak was perfect and great value. A lovely looking pub and just what we needed at the time. I'll make sure I stop for another lunch when I'm in the area next.

Went there on the 30th Dec for a birthday and had to wait 2.5hrs for our food. Along with that, the food didn't all come together for the people on the table.

We ordered our meals at 7:15 pm. Currently 8:45 we are still waiting. The young kids there are run off their feet. Under staffed and so many annoyed customers complaining. Not fair on the staff and I’m glad I’m not overly hungry. Owners need to put more staff on. Terrible service. Friendly staff but run off their feet.

Larger than normal tap selection, steak and chips was great, tonnes of daily specials, free bus service Friday and Saturday night, staff friendly, trivia, meat raffles, I mean can you really ask for more?

Came in to get out of the heat for lunch, and was greeted by friendly staff, good food and great songs I hadn’t heard in years All around great experience

We order steak with medium but when the food arrived it was well done.

There were 4!of us at the table and our meals all came out one at a time with some being 10mins between. One of the orders was incorrect and when mentioned we were met with a very unapologetic rude waitress. All the meals were one the cooler side and the vegetables were undercooked and super crunchy, I couldn’t even eat the stalk of the broccoli. Do not order the surf topper for your meal, an extra $14-50 for 4 prawns and garlic sauce it certainly was not worth it. And then to top off a poor experience they handed a small child the microphone to call out the raffle numbers, she was screaming the numbers into the microphone that then came out of the speakers in the entire room, it took at least 3 times for the staff to turn it down enough for it to be tolerable. I certainly won’t be back in a hurry.

An enjoyable evening. Food was delicious, drinks were lovely and cold. The trivia night was lots of fun!

All the staff were friendly and helpful . They make great cocktails. Food is delicious. If I had to pick on something I'd say to have better prizes for trivia. Love The Riv atmosphere.

I made a booking via the website when I arrived for the booking the young man behind the bar looked for my booking in the system and said it wasn't there I showed him the text message on my phone and he proceeded to blame the manager for not putting the booking in the system and now all the bistro tables were full and I had to sit in the bar area. The steaks were good however I ordered the tiramisu and it was dreadful and couldn't eat it. So many pubs to choose from in Wagga wouldn't recommend this one. The person who said no table for me even though I showed him my booking no empathy and very disinterested. A shame.

Won't be back. Waited for the best part of an hour for a chicken schniitty with chips and a bowl of chips for my daughter. When they FINALLY arrived the chicken schniitty was so dry and disgusting it was more like a biscuit, definitely not worth the excessive wait

Very slow service and when the food came the steak was cold. Very very ordinary meals. Staff very slack. Suggest you avoid this place for a meal Won't be.back

I went for lunch a few weeks ago kept forgetting to leave a review and to be honest it's very rare that i do. was there from Melbourne. The service was great and the home made prawn Ravioli was absolutely phenomenal so I highly recommend and kudos to the chef. Thankyou

Meal was great. I can't fault our Lamb Cutlets and Chicken Parmigiana, but the waitress forgot the entrees, it turned up while we were eating the mains and the order took an hour...it was not that busy, attention is needed in the kitchen & at the order counter this shouldn't happen if there doing there job

All good until pot of gravy dropped by staff, all over back of shirt, very uncomfortable to eat food with wet shirt, steak was tough, usually very good, won't be back soon very disappointed 😖

My husband and I organised an evening out @ The Riv. I ordered the goat curry. It was inedible. Not only was it tasteless, it was like eating rubber and full of sinew. I took my meal back, no one came to speak to me regarding the meal. I was given a choice to reorder, I ordered an entree which came without a plate. Very disappointed and poor quality overall especially with prices charged. We will not be back

Was one off the best steaks I've had at a pub..it was a 400g wagyu steak cooked a perfect medium and the staff are just genuinely nice people all off them 👌

Driving through town stopped and had dinner here. Absolutely handsdown the best food I’ve ever eaten and not to mention the best service.

First stop in Wagga Wagga. Was slightly confused by the rugby and footy on the tvs. Please for the love of God will someone tell me what sport they play in NSW. Food was good. Steak was a bit fatty and didn’t come with a sauce. No one dropped their pants to eagle rock, you call yourself rural???!

Dropped in with my wife for steak and beef cheeks. Ordered using the app on the tables. The first wine we ordered wasn’t available. The second wine wasn’t either. At 2:30 we went looking for our meals but the kitchen hadn’t recieved the order. “It’s annoying when that happens”, said the waiter as we realised this wasn’t the first time this had happened. the kitchen was shut so we were offered a refund (minus the commission we apparently pay to order using our phone). Thought about asking for a refund for the glasses of wine we had waiting for non existent food to turn up but now rushing to find another pub with a system in place that works. Such a shame as the actual pub building is great

Great stop over for Wagga Wagga. Excellent service by all staff especially Duty Manager Pramuk who was friendly, helpful and attentive. Dinner was very good [TBone, veg or mash and Salad] and rooms comfy but old.

Ordered the chefs special sirloin and chips. The steak was cold. The temperature of the meat was as though it was out of the fridge. There was no moisture at all. Returned it to the kitchen were the staff offered to do another meal. Not privy to the conversation with the chef but was then offered a full refund. Short changed on the refund. Should have checked before leaving, but shouldn’t have to. This is the second meal I have had there that has been served cold. Will not buy another meal there.

Great pub food in a very comfortable environment and at good prices. Delicious. July 2024: Ate here again last week and can confirm the initial impression we had in September 2022.
