My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dinner at the Bayview Restaurant. The view was amazing. John had the lamb and I had the pasta. Both meals were absolutely delicious. All the staff were very attentive and we felt very looked after. This is now our favourite in Tasmania!

Booked for Valentines day. An elderly blonde lady sat us at our table then left without offering anything, no water, no menu, nothing. We waited for a while and nobody came to offer us water or even a menu. I eventually went and got us a water jug. We waited again for a while and still nobody came to offer us a menu, so I got up again to grab a menu. We waited again for someone to ask us for drinks or even acknowledge we existed. So, I got up again and went to the bar to ask for a drinks menu and question who is waiting on us, they then eventually sent someone. I don't know her name but she was tall, brunette, and had braces, she was lovely and did a great job. Overall, the food and atmosphere was nice, but the initial service really let the experience down for us.

If you can give a 6 out of 5 it’s here. The view of the ocean, the amazing restaurant and the staff who really seemed happy to see you would normally make it the best experience. They did. But then, the food. Seriously, this is one of, if not, the best feeds I have ever had. 54 years, world over. Already booked for the next special occasion!

This is a must stop for a 6 star lunch or early dinner along the coast to capture the most amazing scenery. We almost ate at the fish n chip shop below but then sighted the front door, on the ocean side, to this hidden gem. Elevated views of Bass Strait from our table after a picturesque drive along the coast from Devonport to Wynyard. We are in Tassie for 10 days and I doubt we will eat this well at another restaurant whilst here .

I don't like to say it, but your restaurant does top the revolving restaurant at the casino. The chefs 9 course menu with matching wine is to die for. We did this menu six months ago and although the menu has changed, it is still the same high quality. Probably the best chef 👨‍🍳 in Tasmania. Hopefully the tips given filter down to the chef. Truly an amazing place to dine.

We enjoyed an exquisite and tranquil dining experience at Bayviews Restaurant. Our evening commenced with a delightful tasting platter as an entrée, followed by the delectable chargrilled rack of lamb and pressed neck. Upon our arrival, the restaurant was serene and empty, but it quickly became bustling as the tables filled up with eager patrons. The service was amazing, enhancing our overall dining experience.

Saddest excuse for a fine dining restaurant yet. I am glad I no longer work in hospitality if this is the new standard. Having worked in hatted venues I was expecting a real treat. The Beef Cheek Arancini were dark, not due to old oil but excess liquid, flavourless & a fail. Next the steak, I was expecting Cape Grim even the Beach hotel in Burnie serves Cape Grim. From the first bite I called the maître’d I told him this was not Cape Grim he agreed, then I said that this was from Sharman’s butchers & he said yes it was…….. Second fail, why would I pay Cape Grim prices for the local butcher steak when it was flavourless & grey. The next fail were the Margaritas. Why even bother going to this overpriced over rated restaurant pretending to be fine dining.

We enjoyed a very good dinner with genuinely friendly service, well cooked food and great location at the beach. My fish was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed the venison. Deserts also good.

Went on Saturday night and they gave us a nice table next to the glass window so we had a good view of the beach. Also they gave us complementary entree of this salad on cracker thing which was nice. I had their steak with cafe de Paris butter. I enjoyed this steak, I like their twist of croquetted potato instead of the usual roast potato or chips. My husband tried wallaby steak for the first time and while I didnt try it, he said it was nothing special, not something he would order again. Staff are lovely. I was happy with the experience.

FINALLY! A restaurant with GOOD food. We've been travelling around Tassie for 4 weeks and on our last day we ended up here & wish it had have been the start of the trip! Everything we had was delicious and it is all so reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

The beer was nice but my Long Island Iced Tea was terrible and expensive. The view is really good t and to sit out the front and embrace the fresh sea air is wonderful.

High quality food with beautiful sunset view. We tried Chef’s Tasting Menu (6 courses) and they were all super delicious, just a bit too full for us so we had to take away the desserts. I love the yellow fin tuna sashimi and the pork scotch - very flavourful dishes. Service was great and efficient. Location is perfect. Must-visit restaurant in Burnie for sure 👍

Had dinner there an all I can say is the food was amazing. Staff very friendly and happy to accommodate my dietary requirements. Lots of gluten free options. I would suggest booking if possible as can be very busy. Defently will be going back next time I'm in Tassie.

A respectable dining experience by the beach in Burnie. Everyone at our table liked all the dishes including the complementary ones. A decent range on the alcohol menu was available also. The waitress was warm, welcoming and attentive in her manner. The pricing was fairly reasonable, at around 50 dollars or a little less for mains. Probably one of the best options in Burnie for a more elegant but not over the top dining.

Wow, wow, wow. This has to be the best restaurant in Tasmania. The chef is passionate about his food, and you can tell by the creative, spectacular menu. A lot of the produce is Tasmanian, as are the wines and whiskeys, as it should be. There are free amuse-bouche and palate cleansers. I did query whether there were petit fours as well, but the two young staff I asked, didn’t know what petit fours were. The food is amazing. The textures, taste, and colours were all perfectly balanced. The protein sizes were generous. The tart with the wallaby was delicious. The prices are high, but that seems the norm for Tasmania. Service from Max was excellent. The seas views are fantastic.

The wallaby was done to perfection. Wine selection extensive. Staff were quick to provide a white board with the day's specials only to take it away before we could read it. Other than that, the meal was good and the view memorable. You are steps from the penguins if you are there in March.

My partner and I visited the Bayviews Restaurant and Loung Bar on 07/02/2023 whilst holidaying in Tasmania. An outstanding experience with perfect hospitality, delicious food and a positive atmosphere - I recommend the Bayviews to anybody who lives locally or is visiting on holiday. The Bayviews is exceptionally accommodating to allergies and dietary requirements, with specific menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, Vegetarian and Vegan requests. Additionally, on-the-spot changes were made to meals where specific items had to be taken out due to allergy requirements. This made the night stress-free and enjoyable. This was primarily thanks to our waitress Chelsea, who was highly vigilant about what we could and could not eat and passed this information on to the chefs who accommodated us. We are so thankful for the lovely night we experienced, as this has been one of the highlights of our Tasmania Holiday thus far. Again, thank you to the Bayviews for being so kind and accommodating. The food was delicious, and we send our biggest compliments to the chefs who made it possible! We also want to express an even bigger thank you to Chelsea, who helped make this a night to remember!! Beautiful location right on the foreshore next to the local SLSC. Exceptional personalised service by a team of seamlessly coordinated wait staff who delivered locally sourced quality produce with professionalism and personality. We were seated without a reservation and the place filled up quickly with every table taken by 7pm - testament to the positive dining experience to be had here. We were able to view local paddle boarders take a sunset dip and nippers in late training mode. Gorgeous interior, perfect ambience for dining on the beach!

When visiting Burnie we always come here and have battered scallops, chips, bottle of wine. We live in Northern NSW and always look forward to this treat. However last evening scallops no longer have roe on them, tiny and tasteless. What has happened. We left $92 there. Unfortunately will not be back. So sad. 😪 I HAVE UNFORTUNATELY REVIEWED WRONG RESTAURANT IT IS THE ONE UNDER BAYVIEW AND THEY ARE CRUMBED SCALLOPS. PROFUSELY APOLOGISE TO BAYVIEW.

Great seafood, the salmon was amazing, fresh and juicy. Good portions of chips. Chicken burger was good for non seafood lover. Highly recommend this great spot. Good selection of beers and wines as well for a cafe. Check it out if your in or passing Burnie.

Went for dinner with my partner a while back.. I'm vegan and requested the separate vegan menu, partner decided he'd order vegan too for a change. Waitress questioned if he was actually vegan and when he said no he was told he wasn't allowed to order from the vegan menu... What the..??

We visited on a spur of the moment and staff were awesome in getting us in. The food is presented awesomely, and is adventurous. I found one dish a little bland, but overwhelmingly want to come back and try this again. Fantastic view, atmosphere and staff.

We did not plan to go here, but we ended up just trying it out, as the other place we was going to was booked out. I am so glad we did go here. The service was great and all you could ever want. Helpful staff always on hand, the speed of service was good, presentation was great. Now the food was absolutely fantastic and I can be very pedantic about my food. Mains was excellent and he dessert was spectacular. I would happily recommend this restaurant and I will be going back. All up for the 2 of us we spend $178, which was 1 appetizer, 2 mains, 2 desserts and 3 drinks from the bar. I was having such a good time I forgot to take photos of mains and dessert.

Easily the best fine dining restaurant in Burnie. Good wine list and excellent, fresh seafood. The large windows must provide lovely ocean views (I imagine - though more so in summer than the dark winter). Service was friendly and attentive. Though suggest they find an easier way to show the specials - having the poor staff lug around a specials chalk board - and then hold it up to your table as you read it - seemed a bit inefficient, maybe even medieval. Surely not hard to do a little card with the standard menu. Nonetheless can recommend for the food and wine. Booking required.

Waited almost an hour for our first course, being offered many drinks in the mean time. Having been told they were staggering bookings to avoid being to busy, we were disappointed to find it very busy and noisy. Rather than wait another hour for our next course, we left
