Staying at the eli tonight and we have a party in the room next door. Very noisy bunch of kids, loud music, yelling and banging. Apparently there is no manager on site tonight so other guests have no option but to put up with it. Very disappointed, would never stay again.

Young female blonde seems a bit rude and not very friendly behind the bar. Rooms are great.

Meals were expensive and not the best.

A truly lovely meal. Our daughter absolutely loved the dinosaur volcano and she took great delight enjoying their demise! Ordered a burger myself and it delicious but was too busy enjoying it to take a photo

It's a pretty standard motel situation, but it's convenient & cheap. Excellent showers and comfy beds. You don't need much more.

Ordered the roulade 2 very thin strips of chicken, 2 carrots, 2 pieces of asparagus and a small amount of mash potato. Basically full price for half serve. Also ordered 2 fruit tingle cocktails glasses were only half full $18 each. Very poor value for money

The Lamb Shank meals had no flavour and was tough. Vegetables were average at best. Not value for my $33.00.

We were 2 couples and stayed in the newly renovated upstairs hotel. The room was new and well equipped for a hotel room, comfortable bed and there was no noise from the hotel and very minimal from the street. |We booked direct and the Manager was very helpful and obliging as were most of the staff. |We also attended their Melbourne Cup lunch, which was beaut, and had Dinner that night. The meals were a cut above Pub food.|All in all a very well run Pub.

Check in was easy and hassle free. The staff I spoke to were friendly. The room were nice - especially for the price. Not a huge amount of parking but it wasn't an issue when we stayed. Definitely would recommend

Excellant food nice staff

A group of friends had an amazing lunch today. Meals were yummy. Dessert was huge (the Caramel icecream) and 1 serve could feed 3-4 people. The young man who took our orders and served our meals was very efficient and certainly must love his job. Lovely fellow.

I ordered summer salad which tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a week… the pepper gravy was full of lumps that were not peppercorns and the Caesar schnitzel was incredibly dry with a cold egg dropped on top… very disappointing..

Comfortable beds, clean and tidy room, service was amazing and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Great location, close to the beach, information centre and lots of shopping and great restaurants within walking distance.

Friends joined me at the Eli for a memorable gathering. One of them is embarking on the Spirit of Tasmania, and you can see the ferry while sipping on your drink in the bar. We started off at the bar, soaking in the lively atmosphere before heading to the bistro for a scrumptious lunch. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. The bar and bistro offer stunning views of the Mersey River and Bass, adding to the overall charm of the place. As for the food, it was simply divine. Everyone was delighted with their choice, and we couldn't get enough of the mouth-watering dishes. Personally, I couldn't resist the Lemon Pepper Prawn Tacos, bursting with flavor and perfectly complemented by the garlic aioli. Trust me, it's a must-try. And for my other option, I also indulged in some fries with pepper creamy sauce, which were spot on. Others in our group raved about the Crumbed Scallops, tender and delicious, as well as the Chicken Schnitzel with gravy and Parmi, which they described as simply heavenly. A pleasant dining experience at the Eli.

Bloody delicious food! The staff are friendly & make you feel looked after. I will be back to try other meals. Did not stay in rooms, so I can't comment, but they are in a really good location with the middle of town, just a stones throw away 😉

Very very delicious food! 10 out of 10 for everything

The Bistro was less than half full, yet we waited 30 minutes for cold food. $50 for an over cooked, tough and flavourless steak. The portions were considerably smaller than other local pubs we've been to yet the prices were no better. No table service when other local pubs do table service. Definitely expected better for what we paid.

Meals are overpriced for what is a pub meal. Even the chicken parmigiana was dry. Not overly impressed with it. Has historically been a good restaurant. Hopefully just having an off night in the kitchen.

Best staff on the planet.

Where do I start? No compendium, no breakfast, parking outside your room is a maybe, due to patrons using guest parking, do not disturb sign on the door which was ignored and cleaners came in anyway! Maybe they can't read. Finally reception closes at 3pm! Poor form. Try the camera footage from may7_8 room 25!

I booked a table for 12 in the Bistro. Rachel was very helpful especially in finding a quiet place for our hearing impaired family members. The food was wonderful and service excellent. Thank you Rachel, thank you Bistro staff.

Delicious Japanese food ever

This was our go to local pub meal once a week, but I'm not so sure what has changed in the last 4 weeks. The service has gone to the pack, bringing out the wrong meals, forgetting to bring out our meals, poor quality food. It's a real shame.

Called in for lunch Nice club. Hubby had the Crumbed lamb chops (3) and salad. I had Beetroot pumpkin feta, salmon salad. 😋 Both of us enjoyed our meals. Location is lovely overlooking the river.

Nice food, not bad value. Need more vegetarian choices. Pasta and veggies get very dull 😑 you want something that you would not normally cook at home. Parking can be an issue.

Really enjoyed our stay there. The room was very tidy and well presented. Being waterfront and only a 2 minute walk to the city mall it is well priced. Will be definitely back.

Friday night gaming was closed by 9.30pm, bit too early, at least staff were friendly.

I stayed one night at the beginning of my 10 day trip and on the last night before catching the ferry back. The room is quite big compared to previous places I’ve stayed. The bed and shower were great. The wifi works and the towels smell nice. On the last night, I had a meal at the bistro. I wasn’t all that hungry so I had the entree meal of salt and pepper squid. It was nice and tasty. I felt like a dessert and ordered the ice cream plate, berry storm. It was a massive construction and I think it’s meant to be shared with two people. I was full and ready for the sailing the next day. I would definitely stay here again because it’s convenient to the ferry, great value and has the bistro attached.
