Top of the Town Hotel Motel

The rooms are simple and tidy. Inexpensive and have stayed here many times for work. There is no Air Conditioning so on hot evenings not the greatest but mostly was there during the cooler months.

I had a rushed visit to see my sister in hospital so I found the location great being next the the chemist and supermarket. I wasn’t well and the room they originally gave me didn’t suit so it was no trouble to them at all to upgrade me and have me in the upgraded room first thing the next morning. I found the service from staff was amazing. The room was clean and comfy. I would definitely stay here again.

What a terrible meal! Waited 45 minutes for meals while customers who came in after us were eating!! Then the food came out, after I went up and asked, and the cheese and herb bread was COLD! Son had a schnitzel that was overcooked and hard as a rock and chips were cold! I had the flake, OVERCOOKED, and cold chips too. My partner wanted the entree but in main serve size, and of course that was stuffed up as well!! I put up a review not long ago saying it had changed.... must have been a lucky night as it was same old Top of the SLOPS again!! Ifyou want good food and good service DONT EAT HERE!! Go up the road to Thai Dang Derm, much better value for money. Wasted $90 on a dinner we walked away from. Management need to either take a really hard look at kitchen staff or just give up serving garbage food!!!!! Very disappointed. Also kids running around dining area throwing g a ball around and nobody said anything. This was the worst dining experience we have had in a while. We wont be back!!!!

Had lunch on Thursday I had potato skins enjoyed them my parents had roast potatoe sloppy meat was tough and frozen veggies were still frozen. I think the cook needs to go back and learn how to cook a real roast like mum used to make, the old fashioned way.

Amber is the best bar staff and waitress, deserves a raise. 👍🏾

I'm not impressed. What has happened to top of the town seriously... took forever for our meals, once meals came out most were cold n some wernt very enjoyable. and extreme rude service. Said we wernt ready for cake yet because the last few people only just got their meals and were only just eating, but yet they bring it out anyway. Wasn't even 8 o'clock and were trying to shove us out the door while some people were still eating there meals. Not impressed at all. Not the way I wanted to spend my birthday! Just plain rude! Bring back the old top of the town with great service, food, got meals on time and not forced out the door

Ignore the bad reviews! This little pub is great, lovely service and great delicious food even on a busy Saturday night. We couldn’t fault it!

Went for dinner but failed yo receive what we asked for. Wanted salt free chips but was served with salt...

Had a meal here one Sunday. The service was great, but the food mixed. The garlic bread was hardly garlicky, you could hardly taste the garlic butter but the Arancini was lovely. A bigger serve would have been better though.

On holiday from Melbourne, we decided to eat out. The girl taking the meal orders was also tending the bar. We could only see 2 other girls and neither of them were helping. They appeared to be disinterested and not very friendly. The roast lamb was sold out, even though it was still on the specials board. The chicken Parma and Salmon croquettes were both overcooked and very dry. They appeared to have been deep fried. Very disappointed.

After reading all the horrible reviews decided to stay here and for a Friday night was pretty quiet considering I was expecting brawls/police 😅 Nice tavern with games room. The dining room was full with lots of friendly people and great meals. Won 120 on pokies. Rooms outdated but very clean. Great shower. No cutlery but had bowls/plates. Coffe/tea provided. Staff very friendly and meals were very delicious, great sizes too and affordable. Honestly every pub has a bad night and I couldn't really find anything to whinge about. Old time pub with all neccesities except cutlery.

Only go here if you are REALLY desperate. Parking is shocking. Rooms are VERY basic. Only double bed. NO cutlery. Could not eat anything. They have basic crockery (no bowls) but nothing to eat anything with. When staying there for work, the reception is not open at the time I need to eat breakfast so that is not helpful. Walls are so thin. The woman next door was terribly inconsiderate and had her TV blaring until well after 11pm. Most unwelcome when needing to rise very early the next morning. Would not ever stay here again under my choices. The only good thing was the meal at the restaurant. That was very nice but not enough to make me want to stay again.

Went for tea lastnight with family and ordered a grilled chicken burger, it fell apart as it had to much on it which im not complaining about so i had to pick at it, which I am glad I did, I ate most of it until I got to the chicken, it was still mostly pink... I used to work around chicken a far bit and the chef" said that is how the chicken turns out when cooked... um okay let your customers get food poisoning..."

Unfortunately it was quite hard to enjoy our meals when it was hotter than hell it's self in there! Everyone was sweating and uncomfortable, even had to strip down my otherwise well behaved baby and taken him outside to keep him cool and stop him crying so I could eat my meal, When I asked a staff member (who are all lovely btw) if there was a heater on as that's how it felt she apologised and said that the AC was broken. This may be Tassie and it may not get overly hot most of the time but when it does it gets hot! I truly hope the owners plan on getting the AC fixed soon and not subject their hard working staff to a horrid summer in that hotbox. Look forward to coming in again to enjoy another otherwise wonderful meal once it's a bit more of a comfortable environment. My meal was 10 outta 10, the staff was 10 outta 10. But please fix the AC.

Do not stay here. Unsafe. Horrible place. If you want to get attacked and bashed by local thugs, then this is the hotel for you!

I needed a bed for a few nights; I don't need a view - decent bed, a good shower, and a good restaurant to have some comfort food. The Top of the Town Motel/Hotel delivered at a surprisingly low price... I travel a lot - my criteria are simple - clean and fresh, and my choice is never the money. A motel is my home away from home. Top of the Town in Burnie, Tasmania, gave me everything. For a token fee, they deliver food to your room - their food choices are many, from a lamb roast to steak, a palmy or pasta... many options... but the winner for me was rissoles like my mother used to make. Basic veg, in Tasmania, the vegetables are miles better than the mainland options, and the T&T staff deliver with courtesy and a smile... Be aware of the external look of the property - Top of the Town in Burnie is miles better than its facade presents. It hides out the back behind other buildings.

Convenient location for a brief stop over. Great meals.

Beautiful meals

Good food, kids room, good service, pleasant staff.

My husband and I went for lunch today for first time and will be last. firstly ordered two cokes and two cans were pushed over bar apparently they can't afford glasses then meals came I had roast lamb the serve was huge but could only eat veggies as lamb was tough rubbery and fatty the sauce my husband had on meal was lumpy and congealed. Will avoid in future

We had take away food. Proper 'pub grub'. Excellent quality food. The whole family loved it. Top of the Town beats other establishments in the area hands down with food quality!

Rooms tired and unpleasant. No meals eaten here so can't comment on service. Noisy intoxicated people in adjacent units, drinking and fighting in the carpark. Staff tried their best, but police needed to be called as this went on all night long. Felt very uneasy staying here and won't do again.

Had a meal with family in the bistro. Told a 45 minute wait, meals came out after 1 hour 15 minutes. Meals were OK but girl serving meals was very rude and told us it's the chef's fault" rather than apologising for the delay. Won't be back in a hurry."

We stayed there for convenience and I know you get what you pay for but….. trying to check in was a struggle, outside light on all night lighting up the bed, electric blanket cord tapped up with electrical tape, door stop in the bath room right in front of the toilet where you feet are meant to go, tiles missing from bathroom floor. On the upside the room was very clean.

Cheep good pub / counter meals a bit old in decore but it serves well for what it is cheep accommodation is what you would expect great for the tradies or civil construction workers working away if you you need to put your work men up somewhere in burnie good parking for trucks and trailers just a real pub with great local atmosphere only down fall is the pokies that could be made redundant.

Honestly Extra Guests Spider and Cockroach. Power points are Dangerous with exposed wiring. Shower terrible. Inconsistent 1 minute Beautiful then Extreme Hot or Cold. Bed Not too Bad with comfort but mouldy pillowcase. Room stinks like carpets have been damp. Used air freshener to disguise the mouldy smell Noisy and Not really comfortable. However food looked good at Bistro..but didnt eat there. . Accommodation Definitely give it a miss...

Room was not what I would consider clean including very stained carpets. 2 spiders crawled on me and everytime I turned a tap on a spider came out. You have to lay flat on your back to plug anything into the PowerPoint by the bed. Noisy fridge, screeching taps when anyone in the building uses a tap. TV remote power button not working, 2 clock radios, 1 doesn't work and the other the volume is not adjustable. They provide a plate but no cutlery. Noisy at night and early hours of the morning. Reception not welcoming and initially said I didn't have a booking. Worst place I have stayed. I would not recommend.

The accommodation was literally the worst ive Stayed in. Windows don’t open,, no air conditioning, outdated, horrible dingy area. They can’t be proud of this place.
