Huge portions. Nothing overly 'chefy' but good comfort food

Great pib woth lots of space and room for crowds. Kid friendly. Though the food hasn't always agreed with us, it is nice and reasonably priced.

Meal was burnt , poor quality ingredients. I've lived in the area for 38 yrs and it's probably the worst meal I've had there. Had curried scallops a few months ago and it was terrible. Curry hadn't cooked off enough the curry was powdery and that hot it was inedible. And the young guy that came out of the kitchen with hair half way down his back not tied back was a put off as was the waitress who had a big dressing on her thumb that was holding my plate of food with no glove. A big thumbs down 👎👎

Went there for tea with the grand kids and ordered a BBQ parmey and salt and pepper squid the squid was an amazing dish done differently with an Asian salad and the flavour just kept on coming. The parmey was amazing as well full of flavour all the way through I would recommend you go there and the price was very reasonable

Good meals and fast service

Nobody is perfect but they are bloody close

So had a 16 th birthday tea at this restaurant many of us we not happy with our meals mine was Tasmanian shark battered but instead I got a powdery fish it was not cooked properly an only just warm my chips would of been nice only full of oil an very greasy for the cost of meals these to days to dine out because you really need to get away then $5 for a can of soft drink . I spoke to the waitress who said she would tell the chef of this matter we all watched her walk in an straight out to quick for a conversation with the chef and no apology so I won’t be praising the argosy Wendy Philpott also if you want a clean bread an butter plate it’s $12.50 your not supposed to reuse a dirty plate

I had the roast. Nothing great about it. Very little lamb and hardly any gravy. Veggies were ok

Had the seniors meal last night with .my husband he got a glass of beer .I got the glass of wine .with our roast of the day it was just beautiful and a large plate serving .besides the desert of mixed cheese cakes .on the whole we are going back again tonight .the meals are very large

Great spot to stop and eat after getting off The Spirit of Tasmania. The staff were super pleasant and the food delicious I asked for my Thai Beef Salad to be extra spicy and it was yummy. Great value meals too.

Excellent steak. Good portion of fresh vegetables and chips. Simple but good.

Food was lovely and the meal portions were generous plus a great salad bar... highly recommend.

The soup was amazing. The manager got our main order wrong and tried to argue with us. But it was sorted out in the end. Please note there was nothing wrong with the food, just the rudeness and bad attitude of the shift manager. The chef was great. From speaking to locals, half love the place and half really don't. So it's personal opinion I guess.

Very disappointing. I was so looking forward to this meal, but was very disappointed, only warm, soggy, and tasteless.

Pub feed and place for kids to play

Very comfortable dining area, salad bar has great options, meals are large and everyone was happy with their choices. Drinks reasonably priced with a gaming area next door, no pokies sounds make it into the bistro area. Ample off street parking

Probably the worst meal I have had during our 4wks of touring Tasmania. 330gm Rump Steak was more like a minute steak and was cold to warm at best. The corn was buttery but over peppered. My wife had the Maple Pork with Chilli Slaw 🌶. I like hot food and I mean hot. But this was numbing almost inedible. Witnessed another patron scrape something back into the salad bar. Would not return or recommend

Excellent steaks and the seafood topper is really good. The steaks are a little pricey for a counter meal but are worth it.

Very busy but friendly, quick service. Lamb spring rolls were crispy n yum and potato soup was hot and delicious. a filling lunch.

Nice meals, quite large. Hubby had the Pork Belly and it looked sooo yum. I had the Hawaiian Parma which was delish. Couldnt do dessert, the sticky date pudding will have to wait till next time. Forgot photos, but just take my word for it.

After hotel hopping for 3 weeks around Tasmania and having average meals the Argosy Bistro was one of the best we have had and even better value for seniors. Very happy we tried on our last day.

I had Steak and veg. Steak was great and cook to my liking. Veg was a little cold.

It's a bit tired looking but the kids room was great. Meal was ok

We had the roast pork and we could tell it had all been sitting the bainmarie for too long. It was either dry or cold or over cooked. They should be reported for crimes against brussel sprouts!! The waitress said they were cooked the day before!! NOT GOOD!!!🤢 This is why people don't like them!! I usually love them!

Good food and good service. The meals were huge and the prices reasonable.

Food was filling, delicious, and fast. Service seemed a little rushed initially, but did not feel rushed to leave which was good. Atmosphere is a bit sterile due to a large open dining area with plasticy furnishings but still nice especially for large groups. Always the bar for a relaxed individual meal or drink.

Great pub meal, Great for families with the kids playground and games. Friday nights have a free face painter and the kids loved it! Staff are always friendly

Quick and easy meal good accommodation

Very enjoyable, but meals could be smaller. Mixed lettuce was wilted.

An excellent pub style meal, huge serves but still flavoursome and enjoyable. Salad bar with a good arrangement of cold salads to please most people. Nice atmosphere, no too much noise and a good crowd. Excellent service, super friendly and supper fast meals. Nice selection of Tasmanian wines, and the Ninth Island pinot grigio was excellent and great value. Always great to see Tasmanian resteraunts supporting Tasmanian products. All in all, an excellent meal.

Ridiculous prices on soft drinks and starters. glass of lemonade $7, three burnt small slice's of Bruschetta $13, Thai beef salad, burnt beef and missing half the ingredients.
