Room was great, food at the bistro was absolutely horrid though 😖

There was only a few problems. The pool and hot tub are very old and need updated. Sauna did not work at all. The worst problem though was the hard bed felt like we were sleeping on a board. The Bristo, Bar, and lounge were great.

Yep

Stayed there in winter, room was freezing, still wasn’t warm when I left in the morning, very dissapointing, meal was good

Very clean and good area

Return client. Convenient location, ample parking, highly recommend.

Room 54 - queen bed is rock hard and impossible to sleep on. My partner and I both slept on the couch at intervals which was more comfortable than the bed to get some sleep. Called reception about the issue and the message that was left was ignored. No solution or acknowledgement of the issue at all. Over all the whole venue with the exception of the gaming room is run down and need of some love. The kids playground has not been touched since the 80’s, the pool and spa rein needs a deep clean and coat of paint and the sauna did not work. The location is central and easy to navigate and the IGA next door is very handy. I’d love to give this place a glowing review because we had a great weekend, but this is a tired and worn down establishment that needs a lot of love rather than just taking the winning from the pokies.

Great meals

We like our stay with them but they don't have house keeping service in holidays

Lovely staff, nice food, beautiful room, nice, clean and cosy, location was perfect. Only thing needs improvement is the spa looked really dirty, was yellowish, so didn't feel like using it. Evn the pool looked really dirty, plenty of hair floating around, wud be gr8 if it's cleaned.

Review for the bistro. Very disappointing. Neither my husband and I could take more then a few bites of our dinners (Ceaser Salad and roast pork). I have Ceaser a lot and by far the worst I have had. I paid an extra $6 for chicken and it was literally just very tiny pieces of chicken, that tasted like cheap packaged chicken. The whole thing was just gross.

Room is nice, clean. Location and building itself pretty cool. Close to everything you need. Only let down was the food.

Came here on a holiday the tv was not good at all kept cutting in and out every five minutes the beds are rock solid and the toilet had stains on it my kids were on the bunk bets and they said it was hard and I didn’t like how the bunk beds didn’t look built properly it made me unsure but overall the food it not that good I would save your money and don’t go to this hotel in general

Lady at reception was very welcoming and lovely, I didn't like the bed it was too hard but my partner liked it,we didn't use the daily room service as were only there 2 days, but 9 am on a saturday with trolleys being rolled around the complex was a bit noisy. The location was great! Very close to everywhere we were going and an iga in walking distance for supplies. Would definitely stay again.

Second time staying there, different room full of ants, dust and bugs. Toilet seat was loose as. Sink drain basically blocked. Beds felt like sleeping on stone. Over priced for what it was. Staff were friendly tho.

Amanda fab front person . Booked into bistro for dinner table 8 . 45 Min wait after ordering , meals coming out one by one . Vege friend ordered honey soy vege stir fry . Came out with meat . Waitress took back to kitchen , then brought it back again . Even though it was brought to her attention it was veg on menu ? Meals were tasty . Just long wait.. rooms bit disappointing . Asked for soft bed , was upgraded to disability room with softer mattress .. FAB .. shower doesn't work properly needs new one , air con makes noise 😑 rooms not attended too in the 2 night stay . Bathroom floor needs good bleach . Pool not too warm even though heated , shower needs fixing either too hot or too cold hard to get even , spa was brown and slimy . Needs upgrading .. windows dirty

It was nice as in food wise

The gaming room has gone down hill I don't like it anymore. Used to have fun and feel safe. Now I don't. Time to change venues. 👎

We visited on the 11th of October and the food was very poor. I tried to resolve this via email but have been ignored. We paid $38 for each meal as well. The steak with garlic sauce was served well-done (not medium) and was very very tough and dry. The sauce was bland. The chicken special sounded incredible! With sundried tomato etc. filling. It was very dry and challenging to eat, the filling was a puree which was also dry. The dish was completely soaked in sweet chilli sauce and was all I could taste. Sweet chilli wasn't even on the menu - i triple checked to make sure it wasn't after being served up half a bottle of sweet chilli sauce! Staff were unwelcoming which is why we didn't address it at the restaurant. Now we wish we did! Such great opportunity at this location. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Great service friendly staff, lots to choose from the menu, meals decent size and very tasty, there was a few people in and our meals were very quick

Food was awful Had creamy garlic prawns entree - sauce was average Had the surf and turf special. Wasnt special at all. Sauce was terrible Wife had scallops that were overcooked Won't be back

It has always been good food drinks and service 😊

It's nice considering it's a pub hotel, the bed was a bit hard but overall it was good for a night or so. Lots of food places around.

Had a meal there this evening following a recommendation lovely venue The meal was was not up to standard the crumbed scallops were over cooked to the point of being burnt Before leaving the restaurant the staff were setting tables and on three occasions the utensils were dropped on the floor and then retrieved and placed back on the table

Room need a big up date

My child and I stayed overnight before flying out of Tassie the next morning. The room was a bit stinky, and being attached to a pub, I noticed a lot of people smoking and drinking outside their rooms. It made my child and I feel a little uneasy / vulnerable, but we had no issues while we were there. The room was comfortable and clean. We ate at the bistro that night, but I would recommend eating somewhere else if you have an option to. Easy to get a taxi to the airport the next morning. Check-in and out process was easy and pleasant.

You can get a schooner of Boags draught for $6.50, makes it feel old school and very welcome.

If you’re planning on coming here for a feed… Don’t, whatever you get out of the bins at Maccas will be much better and way cheaper…

My mother and I had a lovely experience with the ladies at the front reception, such lovely ladies. Room lovely and clean, everything you want in the one place.

Hostile staff. What a joke.

Our experience was ruined by unacceptable service from some of the front of house staff. These particular staff members need to know and understand that you work in hospitality meaning you need to be hospitable to the paying customers because at the end of the day the prices you are charging the customer those prices are including your service that is how a company makes money to pay your wages, what I was subject to and witnessed was a complete and utter embarrassment to your establishment. When another customer and myself where waiting at the bistro bar Richard that works behind the bar walked straight past us looks and can see we are waiting to be served as all the other staff members were busy running food and clearing tables and stops at the end of the bar and looks down at a bin then turns around and ignores us again and walks into the gaming room bar. So I ended up going to the bar at the other end of the establishment to get my drink then I come back and sit down at our table and proceeded to watch my dad go up to the bistro bar 5 minutes later and watch good old Richard look at my dad from the gaming room bar and turn his head and try to act like he's busy, that is not acceptable when you work in this industry. Pentagon group hotels, the owners of this venue need to pull their fingers out and address the situation if your staff members can not perform basic tasks required of them like acknowledging customers and serving them or simply checking tables to see if everything is alright then why are they still employed, they are dragging your buisness and your name through the dirt, no wonder it is so badly rated here, and next time Richard when you ignore more customers to go look in a bin do everyone a favour and put your head in it you actually might look like you are doing something productive.

Reviewing the bistro... absolutely terrible. Had steak that was full of fat, garlic seafood sauce ..seagood was grey Nd sauce like water ( was told by waitress that it was that colour due to being a redwine base but a cream sauce 🤔) not only myself but 3 other people were asking for money back...waited 50 min for meals and 60 min for a bowl of chips for kids...

The ladies at reception were lovely, & I was made to feel at home. The rooms were well-maintained, & the food at the bistro was good. The heated pool + sauna was a nice addition. I would stay here again.

food is terrible, so much better options for similar prices around

Staying in rooms which are average but all that's required. However wouldn't waste another dollar in the restaurant. Staff were rude, and far from helpful. With only 1 staff member serving and the rest standing around discussing there social life. The food was far from appealing and definitely wasn't enjoyable to eat. Had surf and turf that tasted like the prawns and scollops were served straight out of the freezer, and a medium steak that was rear but cold. Other table meals were the same. No effort put in for presentation of the plate or flavour. Food was crap and there was little to no interaction with the staff. Definitely not a positive atmosphere to be in.

Staff are polite and helpful but the food was disappointing. Restaurant prices but below average pub meals.

Save your money and go elsewhere for food if you're staying at the accommodation. I cannot believe the size of the kids meals. Absolutely tiny and for $13 we felt ripped off. My son ended up having half of my meal as well. We waited about 45 minutes for our meals with only 2 other occupied tables in the bistro. Certainly not a reasonably priced pub meal, you won't spend less than $100 for a family of 4. Numerous times the counter was empty with people waiting for drinks or to order food. Could hear the cooks singing loudly from the kitchen. The pizzas are the only saving grace. Generous toppings and a good size. There is a small play area for kids under 12 which is a nice touch.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was average. Staff are all friendly and good. Meals on one night were burnt. When we were there for a wake, 4 people didn't get their means but staff were accommodating, I think they were just under staffed at the time

Wouldn't bother with eating a meal here! Apparently if they are busy that means they can miss food orders all together? Waited 45 minutes asked for an update then a following 20 minutes to be told they had forgot it. Was rudely offered a refund only ! Waste of time

The meal was good and the accommodation was great.

Really disappointing, in both accommodation and food. Room had all that was needed but was very tired, dark, bit grubby and worn. The tv kept dropping out, as did the wifi, necessitating lots of fiddling to resume. This would possibly all be acceptable for the price paid, except for the BED! Seriously?! Management/suppliers should be made to attempt to sleep on the concrete slabs they call beds! By midnight I'd had enough of the discomfort and getting pins and needles and moved onto the small couch. Hubby had no such option. Needless to say, the night's sleep was terrible for both of us. Never again. The food: hubby ordered a beef schnitzel. This was so thin and overcooked that, if dropped, it would have shattered to pieces. Terrible for the price. My bangers and mash were passable but definitely not brilliant. The only saving grace for the place were a couple of the waitresses in the restaurant. Special mention must go to the blonde receptionist. Her smile, friendly welcome and banter were commendable.

Comfortable accommodation but carperts and couches need cleaning starting to look tied.

Emailed management on 01/05/2024 and have not received any reply. Room of floor was absolutely filthy with built up dirt. Couldn’t walk around the room without shoes on due to how dirty the floors made our feet. Attached is photo of wash cloth I used to clean my toddlers feet after he had already had a bath. Half an hour of running around on the lounge area floor and his feet were black. Also have a video of wiping the floor for a quick second and the clean wipe coming up gross. Looks to not have been mopped in weeks.

A tidy room. We got a voucher to use at the bistro but it closed early 7.30 so could not use it for tea.

Good value in a quiet spot. Food is high quality and well priced

Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant, bars, bakery, bottle shop in walking distance.

Rooms had what was required for all your needs. Our door operated by a key card which was useless as we just pushed the door and it opened🤭 Management will address it. Had some large trucks parked directly in front of some of the units 33-35. Avoid these if you want to sleep in. Pub attached. Fish n chips shop and coffee shop for breakfast were ok.

Big venue. Typical pub grub . Sometimes has acts on . Some staff are really nice. Others are grumpy and rude. Nice clean pub with TVs and sports on . But they don't have all the sports channels.

Very comfortable.

We didn't stay at this place but we did attempt to have dinner there...we ordered dinner and some drinks, the drinks were pretty average. Then we sat and waited for over 45 minutes for our food. My partner then went to check on the times and everyone seemed confused and then they said ( or pretended) that the docket was lost due to it being busy. The place was not very full at all. We then asked for a refund of the meals as this was almost an hour after we ordered. They even charged us for the drinks we had after waiting so long. We will not be back and I will be advising everyone I know to stay away.

We waited 45 min before checking on where our order was. We were told that the docket got lost in their rush but they'd make it now.. My partner overheard the conversation and the attendant was told to not comp the drinks and offer us a free dessert. I didn't receive the offer of a free dessert but did receive a refund for the food. I think the drinks should have been complimentary considering I didn't make much of a fuss about waiting before checking.

Accomodation - King spa had a big bathroom, with separate toilet - very nice. Double shower heads in the shower was amazing - the best shower ever. Was clean.

Good food good service played some pool .

Our family enjoyed a two-night stay and despite its partly dated appearance, the room and facilities were perfectly serviceable and clean. We didn't get a chance to dine in the restaurant so we'll probably try again next time.

I've stayed at The Olde tutor 3 times now January 2023 and January 2024 x 2 occassions. It is a great hotel. Neat, tidy and clean, reasonably price. Service above and beyond. On the last occasion, my child left her wallet behind in the room which also included just under $50 in it and her debit card, which I was unaware of until the staff rang me to inform me that they had found it when the room had been cleaned for the next guests. They happily posted it back to me as I had already returned to NSW it has arrived today with the money and ATM card still in it. I only ate in the bistro in 2023 and the food was good. The kids loved the swimming pool on both occasions.

Great place to stay.

Just near an IGA, quiet and safe. Book an 2 bedroom apartment if you can, it’s nice and clean. Renovated lately, looks new and doesn’t seem have a lot of dust. Ask the cleaners / reception to provide more toilet paper and garbage bags.

Not quite up to standard walk in the door and then get told that you have to order your meals before seven thirty or no meal not what you would expect. Then gets your meal and scallops are not even cooked. Will not be returning any time soon.

Always enjoy staying at the Olde Tudor Hotel.

Incredibly disappointed to discover the room was infested with ants in the kitchen cupboards and carpet on the evening we arrived. Cracks in the walls. Carpets taped down because they were frayed. No doona covers only sheets covering stains. Bedroom view on a brick wall of the rear of an IGA. Limited kitchen supplies. As clean as cleaners could make it with grotty, outdated furnishings, carpet and paint work. I travel frequently and this is not what it looks like in the pictures. Staff apologised but given a background in customer service, I felt it lacked an appropriate response. Given the photos I have and the ant infestation they acknowledged, we thought a refund would have been warranted and should have been offered. Particularly given they advised pest control has been out on site and it was a significant issue. My suspicion is staff are not allowed to refund. Staff were however perfectly pleasant and apologetic suggesting they knew exactly what I meant by the quality of the accommodation and also I envisage it’s not the first time they have experienced it. We arrived at 9pm and left after 10am the following morning booking an Airbnb instead of staying there. So disappointing on a family holiday to have to incur the cost of a shoddy room which isn’t advertised accurately in photos.

The Rooms were nice, but if you check in late it’s hard to find something to eat if you don’t have a car

The food was the worst food I’ve ever had from there, the pork belly was all soft and gooey, the mash potato was as if it was a 2 minute microwave mash. Was told we could stay by management till 9 was kicked out at 8:15 as they were having a staff Christmas party… Apart from that the bar staff (Sophie I believe her name was) was amazing and the manager was very accommodating after the experience we had previously that morning! As for returning won’t be coming back anytime soon!

Work related accomodation over many months...rooms good..no issues ..|BISTRO MEALS ....very ordinary......menu on the table has not been changed for many years...|SPECIALS BOARD ...have eaten nearly everything on it several times...the only thing that changes is the colour of the chalk they use ...Curry and stir fries dominate ...with Salmon patties and sausages and mash every week...and roast of the day of course ....Staff seem to change almost every week ..and the unhappy kitchen staff can be regularly heard in the dining area|General comments from the seemingly decreasing number of regulars......what happened to this place..used to be so good

Charming and a good variety of rooms which are tight and showing their age. Small TV no streaming. Bunks only suitable for small people.
