Mold, rust, hair in the shower, ants. Bed clean but not comfortable, location is good and you can park on site. Rooms nothing like pictures. Disappointed for the price.

Basic older-style motel, clean enough (but I'm sure I could smell some remnants of stale cigarette smoke). This place is well overdue for a refresh. Ducted aircon in our room wasn't effective & we couldn't leave the window open because of the traffic noise from busy Brisbane Street right outside our room. Access is via a very, very steep street, but easy walk into town.

Nuestra experiencia fue buena, la recepcionista fue un amor en todos los sentidos!. El unico pero fue pagar 180 dolis la noche, para lo que era el lugar es un poco elevado. Las habitaciones eran un poco viejas, pero estaban super limpias. Tiene estacionamiento y hay un supermercado a 600 metros.

They need to sort out their cleaners attitude and their lies and they also need to teach the cleaners how to clean a room before renting it out as we found rubbish in the room before us

Room was clean and cosy. Receptionists was quite helpful in arranging extra keys in emergency. Great location. Overall its value for money

Nice Motel?

Four grown men stayed in a very reasonably priced room. High levels of stinky were hit, but that should rightly be blamed on our lack of Hygeine rather than lack of sufficient ventilation. Short walk to see the Japanese macaques. They have herpes. Would recommend.

Lovely bed linen and towels. Great location quiet.However we couldn’t contact reception after 6pm by sms/phone so no tv available.Too many negative notes with extra charge if not adhered too. Had to|wash all kitchen items with only a tea towel no j cloth / detergent in bathroom basin with only toilet seat to place these. Bathroom from dark ages with over bath shower. No shower rail or slip mat. One power point for microwave toaster and kettle. Milk in fridge was off. Place needs a deep clean especially toilet bowl as back disgusting. Concrete walkway to unit uneven and rough

Room was great for what we paid. Also very impressed with how clean the room was and the convenience of the layout of the room. Beds clean and comfy and extra pillows and a blankey just how i like it! Definitely come back again 🙂

I thought it was great value for money. My room was clean and neat, shower and bathroom were great. Parking ok. Overall a comfortable place to be without any frills as you expect from a motel. 😊

The beds are almost a rock. The pillows are decent. The kitchen is at least 50 years old. Mould EVERYWHERE. Fridge had bad smell. Random milk left in there. Dirty. DON'T STAY HERE. Unless you are used to this and the motel is on a 45 degree angle.

While there was nothing seriously wrong with the place, there were many things not right. You would expect a 4 person room to have things like 4 sets of glasses or cutlery, but nope. The car parks were also filled with old junk (lounge suite, fridge etc.) and are a very tight fit, if someone doesn't park perfectly don't expect to get your car in. ||The rooms are very tired and dated. Our room had gaudy pink tiles in the bathroom with a shub rather than a proper shower. We used the laundry once, paid the $2 to use the washing machine which didn't complete its cycle and we returned to find clothes that hadn't been rinsed or spun. ||The many notes around the rooms made the whole place feel unfriendly - I get that extra costs have to be charged in some cases but a simple welcome book like most motels have that outline the rules is far nicer. ||Overall though the rooms were clean and the guests were quiet. If you're just looking for a place to stay this place is OK. It worked for us and I'd stay here again if it was just for a night or two.

This property was not available at 4pm on day of check-in which was down to a staff member with covid, so understandable. The room itself was utterly disgusting with debris from rooms in parking areas (sofa, microwave and other rubbish) - the building and surrounds appeared derelict. I actually thought it was ready for demolition. I was looking for spent and discarded needles. The entire area felt unsafe, filthy and absolutely not family safe. The bathroom and kitchen was beyond dated. The entire unit stank of some disturbing smell. We returned our key and sought different accommodation.

We arrived there and the smell was repulsive, I could not stay there for more than 5 minutes and expected needles to be lying around, my children were told to stay in the car. In the drain was murky water that was full of parasitic worms of some description if I could do 0 stars I would but am limited only to 1 star.

Really comfortable room w comfortable beds. Great location close to the fantastic City Park (couple of nice big Sequoia in there). Very helpful staff made after hours check in seamless. I would defs stay here again.

Room and amenities were adequate but the toilet had not been cleaned after the last guests

The receptionist helped us get the room we wanted with a view. Our room, (room27), had a great view and while the decor was classic we found it to be very comfortable. The heater and electric blankets are great.

Nice central location. A very dated place. Real place is nothing as pictured in the website. The stove top is 19th century. The knobs are greasy and made me not wanting to use it at all. The whole place really needs a good renovation. Feels like living in my greatgrandma’s house. There are however no cockroaches which is a plus.

Stayed at this accommodation not long ago . Very comfortable clean bed and pillows. Cleaners and reception were friendly, and went out of their way to help any way they could.. Great location and fair price .. I highly recommend staying at parklane motel

Let’s start with the good: Great location opposite the park. Easy stroll into town to the cafes etc. Good rate per night. Parking on site but a limited amount and quite tight. Big & spacious room. Not so good: Rooms weren’t serviced during the 3 night stay. No fans or anything resembling cooling in the room. You can open the sliding door to the balcony however you will have road noise. The pillows were terrible and broken up so useless. The light outside the room shines like a spot light through the bathroom window. So if you don’t close the bathroom door, you have a light filled room. A list of rules not to mention one out lining a charge for unwashed coffee cups. Really? I think the owners have forgotten what a motel is.. There needs to a mindset change from the owners otherwise you should look at selling so someone else can do a good job.

Always pleasurable to get what you pay for. No frills motel in a great location. Free wifi, clean rooms, great parking

We are highly impressed and very satisfied with the level of cleanliness at this Motel. We had everything we needed for staying with our two young kids. We found the rooms to be just right for our stay. The caretaker Laxmi is absolutely amazing, with very professional and easy-going service. We appreciate our great stay here, and will be back soon.

Good 2 days

I love, love this place. In contrast to the opinions of others, please, please, please do not 'renovate' and change the character of the rooms or the building. These apartments will sell for a premium in inner city Melbourne and are all the rage, because of aesthetic, relatively lower body corporation fees, and the quality of the build and interior fitouts (they just don't build them like they used to). So, conservation is important in my eyes and all future efforts should be dedicated to maintainence / upkeep / restoration. I definitely intend to return! Bits of constructive feedback - 1) This is rather common across all hotels / motels, but there are no recycling bins. I would love to see some change in this space. 2) Because of microplastics, I would personally prefer steel kettle boilers.

This motel is clean and functional. My only comment: do NOT stay at this motel if you ride a motorbike. It's on such a steep hill it's almost impossible to ride a motorbike up to reception. Even the carpark is on a slope!

This room had all that we needed for a couple of days in Launceston. The internet worked well, we could walk through most of the city very easily, and we loved being opposite the park which was just beautiful. The parking was good, and it was handy for travelling north and east on day trips.

House keeping Service was below expectations, need more training and supervision.

Old and tired but serves the purpose.

Bathroom wasn’t cleaned from previous guests. Hair on floor and shower tiles. Vanity still had toothpaste remnants. Needs a good scrub with bleach. Floor has built up dirt especially behind door. Decorative pillow filthy. They present you with 1.5 pages of rules, including charges if you don’t wash coffee cups etc, how about presenting guests with a clean room! Car park had same rubbish around for 3 days. Managers need to check rooms after housekeeping to ensure they are properly cleaned and up to standard. Note: Rooms not serviced.

Based on the recent reviews I had low expectations but it was ok from my perspective. The room was tired but generally clean. A really deep clean would make a big improvement. Staff were helpful and friendly. Having a laundry on site was a nice bonus.

Very good location and room price but pity fully booked, ww could stay two mire nights.

Great place to stay if you want to visit pro’s or buy drugs.||Worst hotel in Tasmania.||But most people don’t know what’s happening under their noises.||Police come there often with fights going on etc.||People need to read the reviews and look at the photos.

Pleasant surprise. The room was nothing fancy but it was nice and clean and had everything we needed.

The location of the motel was great and with a nice view from our room of City Park. The beds were comfortable but one of the pillow cases had stains as did some of the bed covers.. The lights in our bathroom were flickering and ants were coming from the bath tub drain. Also when the hot water tap were turned on some dirt was noticeable.

Location is fantastic’ walking distance into town and local stores! Rooms were clean, laundry was nice and cheap! Worst sleep you’ll ever have! The mattresses here are bloody awful, expect to wake up with full body aches!

This has been by far our worst accommodation experience in Launceston. The staff are helpful, and it is the cheapest room in the city, but it is in desperate need of an upgrade. Such as shame as it’s in a lovely location. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment during summer and the room was hot and stuffy with hard beds, old furniture, no aircon, stains on bedding, noisy neighbours, steep car park and a very dated bathroom. Only use as a desperate choice!

Having paid $108 per night during peak season, my expectations weren’t set high. It is an older complex, at least 50 years old and has not had any major renovation since it opened. It’s a bit like a time capsule on the inside, but everything was clean and tidy, and mostly functional. The only real issues were a broken clothesline across the bath and the shower/tub water flooding the bathroom floor even with the curtain being used. All rooms appear to be accessed via at least 1 flight of stairs with no lifts and the buildings being on a steep hill so keep this in mind. Thought it was a bit odd having a key safe on every door handle but this must be for their late check in procedure. I also like the thought of placing bigger bins on the walkways outside for extra rubbish. There is also no cooling except for 1 small portable fan, and a wall heater but the rooms are oversized with a large window that can be opened which helps. The TV is also quite out of date and can’t pick up half of the available channels. Reception was friendly and the location is ideal being very close to the CBD, the City Park and only a short distance from Coles and Kmart to easily stock up on supplies. Would stay again if my budget was tight.

Self contained room, missing majority of cooking utensils one would expect. Bathroom incredibly outdated and window in shower having to be open, meant multiple 'Good Morning' to passing by guests. Room service continually knocking on door from 7:30am checking on when leaving (despite a 10am exit).||||Kids reported an uncomfortable sleep in single beds, overall no intention of returning. A shame, as a really good location right on the park.

Room was very dirty and the environment is disgusting

No cold water bath taps. Having my shower and water went to cold, so they have problems with water hot and cold. Workers friendly, why take chairs away where you can smoke. Has improved cleaning wise in last 4 years since we last stayed there.

The good- Central location- walk to town centre, Coles, aquatic centre, bars Nearby City Park- monkeys, ducks & playground Self contained allows shopping/cooking Comfortable beds Adequate heating Guest laundry with washing machine & dryer, wash 2 x $1, dry 2 x $1 The not so good- Washing machine in laundry does not drain/spin- requires an additional $2 to run drain/spin cycle before drying. $6 a load total Room not serviced for first 4 days of 7 day stay. Had to dispose of own garbage in neighbouring apartments dumpster. Difficult to manage when eating pizza/cereal etc with larger rubbish items & boxes/bottles. Eventually attended reception & requested room to be serviced as we had run out of toilet paper, coffee etc, & management informed we were supposed to ask for that. Daily vacuum/rubbish/towels is normally included in such motels so this was confusing to us. TV only had 1 working channel. All others showed a blue screen & no vision. No fan or cooler of any kind in room. Overall a lovely stay, & a beautiful city, thanks for having us, we will be back!

The beds were lumpy, bathroom very old and not very clean, the bath and sink were very worn. Very old and tiny bar fridge.The toilet flush button was on the wall at the back!! We payed $120 a night to stay in what was hotel hell. Some neighbours woke us up at 2am making noise the management did nothimg.

Good location, fairly decent few on the balcony, free Wi-Fi, staff are ok to deal with but just ok. Good as an overnighter Poor list of facilities, bath/shower had very low pressure, TV in my room had limited channels compared to other Motels/caravan places nearby, staff hardly answered the phone despite calling during staffed times. And they charge you extra if YOU don't clean the room and utensils up prior to departure!! Isn't that what room service and/or the cleaners are for?

Rooms were old. Need upgrading. Very dusty, causing my asthma to flare up. And the rooms just smelt in general. I'm sure there are many other nicer places to stay in Launceston. Would not recommend this one.

No decent heating basic room for price

Dingy rooms, ridiculous price for what the rooms are, not worth $170. Tv is old. Couch folds out into bed, mattress is thin, no sheets to make pull out bed up, WOULDN'T FOLD BACK IN. Had music playing on a speaker, not very loud & before 8pm (then we left to go into town at 8.10pm) apparently there were complaints made for when we were not even there. Worker used excuse that he forgot to contact us when apparent complaints were made. If I could give '0' I would!

Stayed 7 nights. Parking area is small, witnessed people reversing into other guests cars because it's such a small area. Beds were okay. Sign on mirror stating additional charges will be passed on for using their towels to wipe off make up? Are you kidding? You are in the HOTEL business, this comes with the territory. Room had a digital TV from the 2000s, pay extra for a smart TV. Fyi smart TVs are the standard now. Didn't check if remote worked, remote was faulty and couldn't watch the TV. Management don't check if things work in the rooms. Working WIFI is also the standard today in 2022; the wifi dropped out and failed to connect when it was busy. Not enough bandwidth for the potential capacity of the place. If you're unlucky and they give you a room with balconies either side, and you get sleazy patrons for neighbours, then they get to leer at you while you're in you're room. Window SHOULD have a sheer curtain for privacy. Also, dovets should not be an upgradable extra. Pillows were far too low. It's Launceston. It's winter. What's wrong with management? Bathroom was fine, but found cockroach in the bathtub. Where there is one, there is more. The corners of the bathroom looked grimy, not cleaned properly. Finally, cutlery and crockery was provided but I HIGHLY DOUBT they make sure that it's all clean before giving you the key. After COVID, you cannot afford to be that complacent about cleanliness.

Because of the crisis in obtaining accommodation in Launceston, I had to live in this hostel and I sat there for two weeks and it was a good stay

Nice clean rooms, exactly as expected. Check in very seemed though would appreciate texted rather than emailed instructions.

We were impressed with our family apartment. It was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the price was reasonable. The location of the hotel is very handy to the city.

Great location infront of City Park and walking distance from CBD. Clean, tidy inside and out. Staff friendly and available to answer questions. Plenty of linen and towels. Simple yet met all our needs. Also great block out curtains.

Classic older style motel with small kitchenette.The only problem with this motel is it can get noisy from the traffic on the busy road outside. Everything else was good value for what we paid. The staff were all pleasant

Family friendly. Solid and cosy apartments. Very clean, right in the middle of the city. Amazing service. I enjoyed my long stay at rhe apartments. Amazing Anita is a great manager. Highly recommended.

Classic 1960's build. Great value and clean comfortable rooms. Microwave which is always important. Heating/cooling is not modern or ducted but more than adequately catered to. On site manager, Anita, is amazing. When my room's hot water service presented some problems, I was able to contact Anita after hours. Her prompt, courteous manner, her communication and professionalism are beyond question. With complete confidence and total empathy, Anita happily resolved the matter (I was able to take another room) and the whole experience made me feel I was in very good hands. A three star hotel, five star service! I look forward to my next visit. Thank you Anita! :-)

Great room close to town.

This older style property has everything you need. We had great views across the park and the communication was very good. Had everything in place for non-contact transaction including getting keys. There was no aircon in the motel room, but did have a balcony with sliding door. Road noise wasn't to bad, but Brisbane Street can be busy.

Modest, clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and prices aren't jacked up during the tourist season. Across the road from park in Launceston, the owner is friendly and has off street parking.
