I went here on Christmas Day for lunch. Despite their advertising they allowed children attend who ran around and disrupted others. Management are now changing the dialogue saying that ADULTS ONLY means that children have to pay adult cost. Really doesn't wash and all they want to do is look after one of their friends

A massive thank you to Nick our server. He was amazing, so happy, nice and attentive. Food was great, perfectly cooked steak and awesome cheese. Good price for excellent service, you don't get this very often anymore.

Such a lovely place, staff were so lovely and welcoming. I went with a friend for dinner and we were so happy with how quick our service was and the quality of the food. The young boy who made our cocktails did a wonderful job they were beautiful and so yummy! Definitely recommend!!!

It was my first time at terrace. Service was below average. The staff looked like they didnt care. My husband and I ordered eye fillet which was cooked to perfection and potato gratin was amazing. I ordered side of salad I thought I could have got a better one from the supermarket. We were waiting to order drinks but no one came to take our order so we had to ask for service. After finishing our meals was the waiting game again. My husband had to go to the counter tell them that we want to pay. Honestly , I receive better service at Subway .

We have attended the Terrace restaurant twice while the first time was a delightful experience sadly the second time has not lived up to expectations.Old gnocchi, raw potato and a steak that was literally five cms in diameter.we went for a romantic dinner and it was a very disappointing experience.We wont go back.

Myself and 4 members of my family had the best meal we have had in a very long time last night at this restaurant. Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was exceptional.

No vegan options. Review I read said there was. A bowl of chips or bread is not a meal. Vegetarian menu was scant and no ability to modify to vegan. Travelled a long way - left very disappointed.

Our second time to the Terrace and 3 years apart but service and food the same, lacking the quality, menu items availability and the price point they are asking. Multiple Menu items not available including wine. I think in the nearly 40 years of dining I've very rarely experience items not available but twice here. Seeing that you can view the menu prior to booking its disappointing that your first or even second choice is unavailable. So definitely will not be returning. Wait staff seemed uninterested.

Very nice steak dinner. Seasoning and accompaniments high quality. Slight criticism; the porterhouse was cooked Med-well not Medium. The desert had a fantastic presentation and was very delicious..restaurant is a little dated.

Terrible service 3 hours to complete our meal. Constantly having to ask for meal/drinks in the end we had enough. Would NOT recommend

Waited three hours to go through our basic 3 course dinner on a quiet night. Need McDonalds or uber eats to be full. Quality of food doesn't match the price. Give it a miss.

A little pricy but you get what you pay for. Excellent quality food and drink, will definitely visit again next time I'm in Launceston.

Easily the worst meal I have eaten. I ordered the lamb and got more fat than lamb. I asked about it and was told that was the luck of the draw. I just happened to get the fatty part. Very unimpressed.

Sensational experience from the moment we walked in till we left. Staff extremely friendly and professional for fine dining Menu is complete, yet not over bearing. Beautiful selections of fresh food, paired with an extensive drinks list and some quite unique wines. We are a selection of starters and sides to get the most flavour, topped off with sticky date pudding with baileys ice cream. An amazing restaurant with great staff and reasonable price for the selection of food and service.

Nice atmosphere and food at reasonable price

As soon as we sat at the table we were informed there was no duck for the evening. We were served our drinks and when we ordered the lamb the waitress mentioned that there was only one left and would check to see if they could do two plates as we ordered. She came back and mentioned that there was no lamb left. We left! Had a sensational meal at Cataract on Peterson.

Had a beautiful dinner here with a big group of family twice now and cannot be more impressed. Food quality is outstanding and worth the price, service is exceptional and the venue has a great ambience. You won't be disappointed

Awful experience. Will never visit again. Home cook Steaks are better than this place. Steaks we’re over cooked.

Dreadful experience. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait for a well done steak. No more than 15 people in the restaurant, we waited 55mins. We were attending a show which started at 7.30pm and the food was brought out as we were leaving. 55 mins wait and the manager expected us to pay for the meals. We were told...you should have come earlier...it was our fault because we ordered well done steak...that's how long it takes to cook....never again@

Very nice unhurried ambience. The staff are lovely. A really different menu with something for all tastes. We had steaks which were absolutely delicious.

We had such a lovely dinner here with our children. The staff are professional and engaging, the food was delish and they even offer a great children’s menu. Totally exceeded our expectations, and was a perfect place for dinner on a miserable Tasmanian night!

Had eyefillet dry if you call great a bit of cost letttus then you are very mistaken some potatoes and asked for pepper sauce it was not what would I really give it a 1 had to ask for drinks all time so I would give waiter staff 1

Excellent staff and great food

We ordered two share platters, which were just mediocre. And the fried potatoes of one platter tasted like they adding into a whole vial of salt. The most ridiculous thing is that they refuse to allow taking leftovers away. I understand that a restaurant can have its own policy. As a result, it may not offer containers to customers to pack leftovers. I never heard that taking away a piece of bread packed by napkins and already paid by customers is not allowed.

Nice meal

Amazing staff. The food was delicious and as my daughter and I were celebrating her birthday the staff went to extra effort and had a special dish created for her. It was a great night to end a working week. 👍

Have been celebrated here 5 years, Before and after married, My husband brought me here every year to celebrate our anniversary, until we have our first kid, this place is kid friendly too. Wonderful environment, friendly staffs, beautiful foods, my favourite medium rare eye fillet, always cooked to perfection everytime I visit, never disappointed me! I can’t wait for our next visit!

Spent a long time looking for a good dinner spot in Launceston, Terrace definitely delivered. Delicious food and very high quality service. Had the oysters, sous vide abalone & king island scallops, and mushrooms as starters, porterhouse steak as main. Everything was beautifully presented and of top quality, especially the seafood. Prices are reasonable. Give it a go
