This is the best fish and chips shop in the country. I haven’t had better anywhere! Absolute winner potato cakes.

Best fish and chips in Launceston! The food is consistently good and always fresh and hot on pick-up. The staff do an extremely good job considering how busy it gets some nights.

The young girl serving was awesome.

Always a great feed from the girls here.

$45 for what's pictured and a steak sandwich. I ordered 2 serves of minimum chips. At $7, i stuggle to believe that this is the right amount. Ridiculous. The fish was cooked within an inch of its life. The older lady serving on Sunday 10/11 was incredibly rude. Rolled her eyes when i ordered. The young girl was rushed off her feet cooking. Won't be back in a hurry, unfortunately. Once upon a time, this was a great fish and chip shop. They also just leave your order on the bench once it's ready, no warmer.

Service here is fantastic! The ladies at Prospect Fish Shop are always at the top of their game, and food is prepared quickly and professionally. There's a good range of various fish and seafood choices, though most options are pre-battered/crumbed and par-cooked. Don't expect Michelin star quality food, but certainly edible and good value for money! Pricing is on point, expect to pay approx $10 per person.

Not sure why, but the fish and chips had a strong, unpleasant odor like uncooked lamb/meat. They weren't fresh, and we had to throw everything away after just a few bites. Sorry but we won’t coming back!

This girl named Erika served me and she was very very nice, she was officiant and she was friendly. Tameka made our food and it was delicious. 10/10 experience.

My chicken burger had something that looked like paper towel or toilet paper inside of it and was burnt and the young girl who served me was incredibly rude, although the older lady was quite nice.

Unfortunately another great takeaway store gone average at best, hamburger with the lots are no longer what they use to be and to have burnt buns topped it, unfortunately wouldn’t return.

Was severed by a lovely young lady that made me the hands down best potato cakes I'd had. Asked for extra crispy and she delivered and they still perfectly soft on the inside the fish was amazing crispy and wicked fresh I don't know how Fraggles is in business with these guys around.

Haven't been since it was renovated but I must say the food was great. Cooked to perfection. Great service. We couldn't finish it which means great value for money. Highly reccomend this business for fish n chips. The burgers looked good to. Thanks....👍

Excellent service from friendly staff and great food.

Always have great service, decent sized fish fillets, seafood is fresh and big in size, never tough. Now they have churros too! Super crispy yet still soft in the middle, great value for money and actually taste like my home made churros. 👌

Good quality and variety of food for reasonable price.

Slow service if you walk in, but only because it's popular. The cooked product is better than my local IGA but not the best I've had.

When we go there if the people think there product doesn't cook up properly they throw in replacement pieces. Always been good.

Great price fish and chips and really efficient service. Not sodden with great and tasted very fresh. Feed the family of 8 for $80 pretty good and heaps of chips left over.

Staff are very friendly, they do decent sized meals the price is as expected compared to the rest of Launceston there's plenty of parking out the back as well so there's no being rushed feeling, definitely worth a try if your driving through

It's the worst service I seen phone order was told 10 to 15 min got there the chips was cook . waited for a another 10 min for the hamburger .I asked them to cancel the hamburger because the chips was getting cold they said they will give a credit for the hamburger would not give me cash back and the time before I order a steak with the lot but they gave it to someone else who ordered a hamburger had to wait for them to cook another steak did not say sorry just made wait not good

Fish and chips mediocre at best. Batter gluggy and chips very average. Staff lovely but I wouldn’t go back. Very disappointing.

Called in and seen the lovely friendly staff at prospect fish shop and got some chips and the lemon pepper flake......oh wow that lemon pepper flake is to die for and makes a lovely change from just the normal flake (that is also lovely) we will definitely be back for more.

Not as nice as they use to be over priced and over cooked. Staff always under pressure. Never seem happy in there Job

The best fish and chips anywhere by far

I rang my order through, ordered steak sandwich with lot ,hamburger with lot 2 potatoes cakes last Wed, it was cold ,greasy and expensive $11,50 for steak sandwich which I threw out ,young girl working in there

Lovely lemon pepper flake.

The food and operation of this F & C shop is v/good, what makes me mark it down is that we have been 3 times when it is not open. These times not out of normal hours, but around meal times. Don't see how a business can choose to close for their own convenience. We don't take the chance anymore and go to Kings Meadow - a bit further but we know their open

Always great service and food. This is one of my favourite places to stop and feed the family or to grab that ideal burger after a massive hike.
