Good place to shop

I had a disappointing experience during my recent visit on Sunday 23/02/25. I was looking for a specific cooler bag that I had seen online, but I couldn’t find it in the store. I politely asked a staff member for assistance, and she directed me to the kitchen area. However, after checking, I still couldn’t locate the item. I returned with a picture to clarify what I was looking for, but the staff member responded in a very rude manner, saying, 'I told you before, it’s at the kitchen area,' while rolling her eyes. Her tone and attitude made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected as a customer. I expect better professionalism and courtesy when seeking help, and this interaction left me very displeased.

Been here several times this and last month, great choices and some massive deals...a new pair of dress shoes for $3 had to ask if it was a mistake, no it wasn't!

Been there many years. Place is clean and the staff is friendly and kind.

I visited yesterday with my wife and children. Bought one item and tried to do self billing. System was not accepting payment and we left self billing counter and moved to staff billing counter. Then suddenly from somewhere one female staff came and started yelling at us about leaving counter without letting her know.My wife told her that you were not here for assistance. Still she continued talking rudely with high tone. I was just numbed and thought might be that's her way of talking but later I noticed she was talking nicely with all other customers. Then I realised that her behaviour was racist. I reported this incident to the staff assisting at counter as well. Incident happened between 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm on 30th December '24. If someone is racist then they should stay at home not in public. That's the responsibility of management to do mystery check regarding behaviour of their staff members Because customers give you business.

Not as good as it used to be sadly. Staff are friendly and helpful if you can find them. There is often not the stock there once was.

I did not appreciate her tone or her attitude When I asked for her name, she waved her nametag in front of me - Suggesting do your worst I don’t care what you report I won’t be shopping at your store again

Its just a Big W, nothing special. Bit light on when it comes to staff and shelves were not greatly stocked.

Staffs are horrible. We bought a Russell Hobbs kettle 2 weeks before, and it was not steady. After 2 or 3 days we we went to the store to return it and told the staff the item was faulty as it was not steady. The staff name was KYLIE and she asked what you meant by it not steady, and started shaking her head and showing an angry face to us. Then she opened the box and checked the kettle and realised that it was faulty. We asked her instead for a refund can we could replace it with a new one, and we asked her to check if there were any available in the store as we already checked and couldn't find anything there. All of a sudden she said I can't check if you want to buy another one you go and check. I was shocked by that response. Because I know that she can check that on the computer.

Everything I need in a simple centre, no fuss. Usually not crazy busy.

Big W..was lovely the staff so pleasant..I found what I needed easily it's clean and well kept.

Really sad shopping experience my brother and I experienced, my brother was wrongly accused of stealing. My brother and I went into big W around 6:45pm looking for sinkers in the fishing section. We went to the checkout and as my brother scanned the item and getting ready to pay for it a worker had said to my brother “are you sure that’s the only thing your paying for” my brother was very confused so was I and replied “yes” she then proceeded to ask for him to take his beanie off and empty his pockets. She had then replied “there was a complaint, and security footage of him stealing” which was wrong so I had told the female worker that she is wrong and my brother would never steal and asked for proof of the security footage. After I asked for the footage she smirked at us until we left the store and let us go. After proving and showing her that he didn’t steal and her lying about having security footage we never got a apology!!! She wrongly accused my brother and made a scene causing him to feel humiliated. I’m very ashamed and angry that there’s people in the world that find joy in making accusations and ruining someone’s day. I’m not sure who the lady was or what was her name but I hope she feels remorse for creating a fake scenario that never happened. I don’t think I’ll step foot in Browns-plains Big W ever again.

Had an extremely rude experience with the staff at the balloons section @ 11am Monday 21st October (today). I went in to order balloons to pick up the day before my daughter’s 3rd birthday (15 days from today). It was an effort for this staff member to even serve me really. The only weights they had were blue, she said that was my only option. I replied with “Will any more be coming in between now and the 5th of November? And if so could you put a pink one aside for me?” She firmly replied along the lines of “no I can’t, and we have that many orders come through. You have to have what is available now which is blue, it will look fine with pink.” So I changed the colour of the number balloon to go with the blue base, as it’s a girls birthday and I wanted pink.. I want it to look girly. I then asked for other items to be put through on the same transaction to save me going to the front counter (I had 2 little ones with me). She signed and said “I don’t have any bags here..” with such a rude tone, and I said “that’s fine I will carry it!” If felt like such an effort for this staff member (merchant ID 611000604000267) to serve me let alone try and make my experience great. If it was such a bloody hassle I wouldn’t have popped in.. I usually come here for all my birthday balloons and usually the staff there are AMAZING and cater to my needs or suggest alternatives etc. like “how about when call you when the pink weight comes in” or “I’ll put one aside when they come in” she was just straight rude and didn’t give an f about actually helping and didn’t want to be there.. Hopefully your team can see this and speak to your older staff member, about her attitude at work towards paying customers! Unfortunate.

Extreemly rude staff Name Dee on self checkout found today .....gives us a repeated long lecture that how we sound to remove the item when I requested to remove item. Very angry, and unwilling to provide service. Can't understand that why such big store hire kind of frustrated staff. Spend over 300 in one visit but felt so upset after dealing with such a rude staff. Will never go back yo this store again.

Went to big w this morning to get 1 balloon blown up and the women was extremely rude.

Some staff at the service desk are really unprofessional, some others are nice and professional. But I would say Browns Plains Big W is likely disproportionately stacked with the former. Perhaps the staff that dislike customer's and/or doing what their job entails should consider working somewhere without customer interaction, like labouring in the sun 🌞

Rachel's service last night was fantastic. Highly recommended the store and i will be coming back. She deserves a pay rise. Thanks again Rachel for your help!

Had the most wonderful experience with a lady named Cheryl in the electronic area , she went beyond to help me with my purchase of Samsung tablet and helping me with an issue with my mobile phone. Thankyou so much.

Has the worst experience with a lady named Cheryl she was so nasty and would not assist me in the party area after asking twice and waiting in party for 30mins she wouldn’t even speak to me or acknowledge me she does not deserve to work in customer service and needs to be fired she is a mean mean old lady, thank you to Aidan who finally helped me and had such amazing customer service
