Usually come here regularly but after last night the way the so called owner spoke to my child I won't be back again. Either make the place family friendly or don't have kids in there at all if you're gonna give out about kids being kids. Could have been addressed differently if you would have just come and spoke to me rather than shouting at my 4 year old.

Lovely authentic irish pub. The food a few months back was excellent! Its started to drop the ball the food isnt as nice. I think a little review of the corners being cut would bring this place right back. There was a time I considered this the best Irish food available in Sydney. Needs to get back that level of care and attention.

We had a terrible experience at Southend hotel. The entrance to the hotel stinks of old rotting beer, which extends into the hallway of the rooms. You also have to carry your luggage up a long flight of stairs since there's no elevator. The rooms are extremely noisy - there appears to be no soundproofing whatsoever between rooms. The shower is awful - runs hot and cold depending on who else is running water in the hotel. No coffee maker on the room, just instant coffee with a kettle. The pub attached to the hotel has terrible food - every single dish has a curry flavor to it, regardless of whether it's a curry dish. The only nice things I can say about the hotel were that the room was clean, the bottle shop had a good selection of wines, and it's a good location for the beach. Would not recommend to anyone and can't believe it's gotten such great reviews from others.

Very comfortable, lovely atmosphere and staff extremely helpful and friendly. Dining room food very tasty and plentiful.

Sunday roasts and Guinness are great!

Decent place, decent rooms. Stayed here because close to family, not really going to disappoint you. Nice and close to woolies too if you need any essentials. Food down stairs is pretty good but expect a long wait.

Schönes geräumiges sauberes Zimmer mit Balkon und Kühlschrank. Direkt neben einem Lebensmittelgeschäft. Fußläufig zum Strand, einigen Restaurants. Man ist auch recht schnell mit dem Bus in Sydney und am Bondi Beach. Reichlich Parkplätze vorhanden.

I used to really like this pub, but after tonight they’ve lost a frequent customer. The pub had visibly empty tables and plenty of space but myself and my partner were left outside for 40 minutes. At this point, a rather angry man came out and shouted at the multiple separate groups that no one will be getting in for at least an hour “if we are lucky”. No reason given for this and this was long before closing. We pointed out the empty tables and questioned why only to get no answer. Very disappointing from somewhere I visit regularly. We understand RSA laws and legislation around establishments like this and were left baffled at the way customers were treated without reason. Shame, won’t be returning. If you want a good Irish pub which actually values their customers, best off heading into the Doss House or Frank Mac’s in the city. Happy Christmas

We requested a quiet room. The manager assignated a delightful Qbed room for us. |Spotless clean bathroom. I specially liked the bedside lights with leds behind for reading or just safe dimer lìght! A good hotel to stay for good value. Frienly staff. Lovely little library near reception.|

We had a great stay at Southend Hotel, and having the option to order delicious food from the pub was an added bonus. Our young adults especially enjoyed the Apple Crumble and chips.||However, the family staying next to us was quite noisy and didn't seem to be considerate of other guests in the hotel. Which had a domino affect on our wellbeing, as we felt tired of not get a good night sleep.||The cleaners we great, everyday we had fresh towels, which we appreciated it massively. Bear in mind they start their work at 6am which could be quite early for the guests.

Great little spot. Wish there were more like it.

Our 3rd visit and our go to when visiting family in Maroubra. Rooms are very attractively appointed and comfortable. We love the Irish Pub downstairs - great food and atmosphere. Good location - walking distance to beach and restaurants. Small shopping centre within the immediate area which is very handy. All round great stay.

Really doesn't deserve more than two stars, very strange entrance and welcoming, carpets desperately in need of a clean, they stink. No toilet brush provided. Even further out of the centre than we realised, takes nearly 2hrs to get to city centre on the bus.

Feels like a traditional Irish pub with great beer, food, and servive

Didn't expect this irish pub just near maroubra beach. Such a great vibe and nice to have something different in the area. Live music was great, staff were lovely and pints of good beer were $10, pretty decent!

There’s everything you need, even good quality bath products, cups and plates, iron, and I did see a hair dryer in staff closet, but I did not request for it. They allowed us to check in early and even upgraded us. There is a nice beach and a great national park (picture of the cliffs attached) within walking distance. And shops next door. It was quiet in our room and great sleep. Next time we need to stay longer.

Southend is basic yet wonderful, I feel very at home and protected in this cozy location. It is clean and spacious, peaceful and yet above the Irish pub that is a great place for a drink of a Sunday supper. I return again and again and am always pleased.

The south end always delivers it is comfortable clean and very well located the staff are friendly and nothing is too much bother for them. I would highly recommend staying here as it is affordable and close to all the amenities that maroubra has to offer.

Had our pre wedding party in the side room. The hotel staff and in particular Linh the chef could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Nothing was a bother for these guys. Thank you so much for making our lives so easy.

The room and staff were great, but cleanliness was a significant problem. Also, there is no elevator, and it is located in a far area.

A very comfortable and large room with all you need in a quiet neighbourhood away from the main strip and beach. Plenty of parking with a shop nearby, and food and drinks are available at the pub, but breakfast is not supplied. I enjoyed my stay.

Hotel was great, very comfortable bed, modern interior, free parking close to the airport, classic English pub below. The only minus was luck of lift but it was only first floor, also the heat pump was old and temperamental. The pub offers good selection of beers and reasonable priced food.

Für eine Nacht in Ordnung. Das Hotel befindet sich über dem Pub, der auch ab nachmittags sehr gut besucht ist. Es gibt dort sonntags auch Livemusik bis ca 21 Uhr abends. Alles vollkommen in Ordnung, wenn man nicht gerade Zimmer 10 neben der Waschmaschine/Trockner hat und neben der Lüftung schläft. Auch wenn ab 21 Uhr trocknen und waschen nicht erlaubt ist,störte es sehr. Die Hotelzimmer gehen nach hinten raus,so hat man morgens leider ebenso den Lärm der Ladezone vom Supermarkt. Positiv war,dass das Zimmer in einem modernen Zustand war und die Mitarbeiter alle sehr nett waren. Der Strand ist fußläufig zehn Minuten entfernt.

Excellent location which is a short walk to Maroubra Beach. Rooms recently renovated and extremely comfortable. Woolies Metro is nearby which is convenient. Staff friendly. Good pub meals that are reasonably priced. Parking easy in the shopping centre carpark.

Good Guinness

Went to Southend last night for for the first time in months, food was outstanding. New specials menu. We were in a group of eight and each of us had something different. Food all arrived at the same time and was fresh and hot. I chose the Pho, it was big enough to feed two people. Trad was great with bar staff super friendly. Highly recommend

A few of us went out for food yesterday evening here & anyone (4 of us) who ordered the spice bag off the menu were sick last night/today - would not recommend

Stayed 1 night in the triple room. It was large and perfect for our family of 3. Easy stroll to the beach and down stairs great service and prices at the pub for Sunday roast dinner. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. Easy to get a carpark and right next door to the supermarket.

The pub is putrid! The staff are disgustingly rude and arrogant. Stand there talk while you’re waiting for a drink. Have had two abysmal encounters there. Spend your money elsewhere. Filthy joint

Came here on Saturday night at 10.30pm. And all chairs were on the table. When we ordered beer I asked about some snacks like chips or nuts or something. They said that they don't have anything. And the staff was ready to go home. Very disappointing for Saturday night. Also couple of weeks ago we ordered stakes with prawns on top. The food was tasteless.

Great hidden gem in South Maroubra, rooms are nice, location close to the beach and there are good shops and a pub restaurant in the same location.

Hands down my favourite pub in Sydney! Great drinkers pub, good atmosphere, cosy and loads of character. Have tried most of the food and that is great aswell! Very affordable, $16 for a burger and chips! Rare find nowadays and once you do you'll keep coming back. Also best Guiness in Sydney!!!

The bar is great. Looks small but very interesting inside. Has lot of weekday deals. We went on a Wednesday which was all Irish meals ($15). We took Shepherds Pie - 2/5. Very very disappointed**** as it was more of mashed potatoes than a shepherds pie. Overall portion was good, it was $15 since it was a Wednesday normally i think it’s something above $20. I would pay more but would like to have more meat for sure!!!!

Have stayed multiple times and have enjoyed each time. Location, pub, food, price, rooms, cleanliness and staff are great. Looking forward to staying again

日本人旅行者です。 2024年3月中旬に1週間、レンタカーを借りてこのホテルを拠点に行動しました。 シドニー空港からのアクセスが良いです。 駐車場はホテル前にたくさん無料スペースがあるので、毎日問題なく停めれました。 ホテルの設備について、ベッドは清潔に保たれており、テーブルや椅子なども問題なく使えました。冷蔵庫、電気ポット、お皿、マグカップ、グラス、スプーンが用意されています。 トイレもしっかり水が流れます。唯一、シャワーの水量が弱いのと、ドライヤーが置いてないのところがちょっぴり気になりました。 洗濯機と乾燥機もそれぞれ4ドル(2ドルコインと1ドルコインのみ使用可)で使えます。結構大きめサイズなので、2日に一回の洗濯で十分乾きます。 ホテルのすぐ隣に、ウールワースとセブンイレブンがあるので、ちょっとした買い物に便利です。セブンイレブンはガソリンスタンド併設です。ガソリンスタンドの脇にエアコンプレッサーがあるので、ドライブ前に空気圧のチェックもできます。 ちなみに、ホテルの1階はアイリッシュバーになっていて、土日は夜10時くらいまでかなり賑やかです。現地の若者がたくさんいて盛り上がってますが、陽気で楽しそうな感じで、治安が悪いという感じではありません。

Great pub and great bottle shop. It's always a good time at the Southend, the beers are cold and the food is delicious and well priced. Definitely one to keep going to.

An authentic Irish pub that really captures the atmosphere. Don't miss the quiz at 7 pm on Thursday nights, it's a blast.

Nicely remodeled rooms, but no view. Above supermarket and pub, a bit smelly in the corridors. So overall ok, but rather expensive for what they provide

We absolutely love staying here the place is in a fantastic location with shop close by handy for a nice coffee at Woolworths and the staff are amazing especially Nathan,Rex and of course the lovely Chrissy they just make you feel like you’re at home. I look forward to our next trip to Sydney in January 2024 oops and I forgot to mention the food is absolutely beautiful for a good pub feed and well priced.
