Beautiful staff great food and even better red wine after winning a court case,great place!!!!

The weekly trivia is my favourite in the area!! So entertaining & enjoyable,the bar is amazing as unlike other establishments no EFTPOS fees". I love the jugs of pineapple juice too as not always alot of drink options when you can't drink alcohol. The garlic bread was beautiful & the vegetarian pizza was nice as despite I need to eat vegan cheese where possible but the sauce was a fantastic flavour that took over from the mozzarella cheese & plenty of pineapple pieces & mushrooms to top it off. The capiscum was good also but it's just the green 1 on there although if you like other capiscum colours as I do I'm sure if you asked they'd be able to add more. The staff are friendly & accommodating."

Best steak and food! This pub has the best service and food. I cannot recommend them enough. I visited with my family of 5, we had the best experience. The 400gr rump was incredible and I had the opportunity to mention it to the chef himself. Jay was very professional and an absolute top guy. Thanks a lot guys and girls. The bar staff ( Natalie) is wonderful very friendly and helpful. Being a visitor too the area she is a breath of fresh air and made our experience expectations. I was with my son and we both enjoyed our time at Cecil Hotel

A real jewel of the area, endless entertainment. Dining, drinks and gaming. Came in for dinner tonight and was blown away by the levels of enthusiasm. The staff took great care to ensure we had an excellent experience. And a big thankyou to the manager on who made it a really memorable might for me and friends. Definitely restored my faith in taverns here on the GC.

Very quiet not busy holiday period I guess. Staff are a bit snobby.not rude but just talking like I should be grateful for their service. Pokies are all take no give. Best thing is it's close to the tram and shops.

I am yet to come across another individual like Wayne, he is the backbone of the establishment and is the highlight of my trip at the Cecil. His proficiency in bartending, his willingness for conversation, his eagerness and passion towards his work are enviable traits - especially within the hospitality industry. Whether it be rain, hail, or shine, I know that I will receive the highest quality service from Wayne and have a wonderful night with a specialty drink in hand. P.S if you treat him right he will whip up one of his concoctions.

Last of the local watering holes and by far one of the best, still have great priced schooeys and even better food. All on top of having a wonderful bar staff (Wayne is a legend, ask for one his signature cocktail creations you will not be disappointed!).

Had a meal today was cooked perfect by Scotty. Thanks guys the place has become so much better since our last visit. Worth stoping in and trying the food. A+

Bottle shop manager was very rude, young man with pony tail, didn’t sell alcohol from bottle shop because he didn’t want to put a transaction through 3 minuets before close

His attention to detail and genuine care for his customers really make a difference. The place looks fantastic after the new paint job and fresh carpet—everything feels brighter and more inviting. It’s always a refreshing place to stop by, whether you’re in the mood to meet some locals or just have a friendly chat. This is the best wood fire pizza restaurant on the Gold Coast. Unbelievable. $16 for an American hot pizza for lunch which was huge. Washed down with a couple pints was the perfect way to spend a Friday arvo. This is a hidden gem

Went to Cecil last Saturday and was blown away! The food was awesome, way better than I expected. Got served by a super friendly and smiley Brazilian girl, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back and already telling everyone about it!

Natalie and Ruby were top tier, food was amazing, service was great, an all around top pub.

If you want to experienced the best of what Southport has to offer, no better pub than the cecil. 10/10 people watching, superb food and the staff are always happy to see ya. Get around it.

I had a wonderful experience last week. The chef’s pizza was delicious, with a perfect crust and fresh ingredients that really stood out. Additionally, the service was exceptional. I’d like to especially mention Be, a Brazilian server who was extremely friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. I also want to commend Jazz for showing great professionalism. I will definitely return and highly recommend it to everyone

Ordered a variety of food off the menu one of which being a blue 400g rump which come to me and was cooked to perfection but not to say the service was second to none with the bar service was great with cocktails and footy was set for a cracking night in town with the Cecil Hotel being right next to the light rail it a very easy night out

We had seniors meals, including calamari. The calamari was cooked to perfection, not rubbery. The chips were nice and crunchy on the outside. The service was great. We did find it a bit noisy, but for a first time, we couldn't fault The Cecil.

OMG called in for a feed and drink, sat down and looked over menu, ordered pizza and a couple of wines, found it very difficult to understand young man serving, because he had a lollipop stick in his mouth, felt every uncomfortable with staff and clientele would never come back and would never recommend

There ia a angry and aggressive short man working behind the counter who got impatient with me cause my phone didn't accept payment as I had to put in my pin. I told him he was being rude after he yelled at me then he got even more aggressive and heavily tipped my sink out. I was a little shocked. The rest of staff was fine. But the little man was extremely intimidating. I will not go back if he is working there. He saved me dollars by doing this but I'm afraid he would be chasing away service for not only me if he acts this way.I rarely go anywhere and this was in daylight. Anyway, Terrible service!
