Had a wonderful weekend away here everything was perfect couldn't have asked anything better this.

My partner and I only stayed for one night and it wasn't as nice as we hoped it would be. Our room felt a bit dirty and rundown. I found a chewed off fingernail next to the bed. And the shower flooded the bathroom floor when in use, there was hair in the sink and just overall needed a better deep clean. We also decided to go to the rooftop bar to use our free drink vouchers. The service there was horrible. We waited in line and when we finally got to the front, both of the women serving, saw us and completely ignored us, and just served everyone else?? Not a nice experience, so we just ended up leaving. Also it's 25 dollars to park your car, which is whatever. But that is not mentioned when you book. Overall really overpriced for what you get.

**Disappointing Stay – Poor Service and Hygiene Issues** I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had. On the first night, I discovered a lizard in the bathroom. When I called the receptionist at 12 am for assistance, I was met with an unprofessional and unhelpful response. Instead of addressing the issue, he casually told me to take the lizard and throw it out of the balcony myself, offering no apology and claiming there was nothing he could do at that time. After a sleepless night, I complained the next morning and requested to be moved to another room, which the morning receptionist agreed to. However, the new room wasn’t much better – there were ants on the table for the entire week, and the issue was never addressed despite bringing it to their attention. The lack of cleanliness and the dismissive attitude of the staff ruined what should have been a relaxing holiday. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and hygienic stay.

Great location for exploring surfers, wouldn't suggest as family hotel due to loud music from bar till late but I've never been bothered by people having fun so wasn't an issue for me. Rooms a little tired around the edges, would consider staying again Bars are great and food was fresh and hot, didn't have, but pizza's looked good!

Just had my daughter’s 18th at The Island Rooftop. It was absolutely prefect! Such a fun venue, plus the food and drinks were delicious. Shout out to all the staff for making the event so amazing, especially Ella Phillips, Pia and Jamison. We cannot thank you enough 😍

They've done an amazing job in revamping this place! Easy check-in and friendly staff. Decent size room. Modern amenities. Good size pool and plenty of leisure activities onsite. Our aircon wasn’t working. Upon reporting it, it was fixed the next day and we were offered cocktail vouchers for the trouble (yum!) Fantastic location. It gets a bit rowdy at night while the SLINGSHOT is going, but once it stops at 11pm it’s pretty quiet. Part ocean view. Easy short walk to Cavil Ave, shops, the beach, and plenty of eateries to choose from.

The location is amazing.

We recently visited The Island for a boozy brunch and while the food, drinks, and service staff were fantastic, the experience was unfortunately let down by the hostesses. Upon arrival, they were noticeably vacant and seemed uninterested. Instead of guiding us to our table, one of them just waved vaguely in the direction we should go, mentioning there would be someone to seat us — but there wasn’t. It was a bit of a letdown, as everything else was really enjoyable. It's just a shame that the initial greeting didn’t match the overall quality of the meal and atmosphere.

If you are looking for a lively place in the middle of all the action, the look no further. We were here to celebrate New Year, so it was ideal. It also has parking on site. Very friendly staff and great location. I would recommend this place.

We recently had a poolside event. The staff were incredible. The food was amazing, and all guests commented on how good the event was.

The hotel is in a superb location, everything is on the doorstep and very close to the beach. Staff were all brilliant, excellent service and nothing was too much trouble. Loved Blondies, the food was fabulous and we all loved the happy hours

Stayed as a family of 3 (with a 3yo) for 2 nights in November. Staff were welcoming.|The hotel is part of The Island pub. |Somewhat clean (found random false lashes on the sink) and no odd smell. |We booked the King Suite which had lots of space. Appreciated the kitchen and balcony. 5min walk to the main surfers Paradise Beach so it didnt bother us. Its also right across a shopping centre (with woolworths at the lowest level and enjoyed food nearby from Usok and Velaa cafe)|We also hired a hrie for a day from Daves rental across the road - whcih we alsi recommend.|2 min walk from tram stop. |Would come back here again.

Bartender overcharged us about $100 one night, we went back another night to find out our drinks were way less. We even tipped her $30, would not recommend

We have just returned from 5 nights staying at The Island and it was really good! Lovely renovated rooms, great food and drinks at Goldie’s, we enjoyed the Pool tables and pool area, location is fab and staff were so friendly. We loved it! Highly recommend.

We have stayed here whilst attending multiple work functions. Always clean tidy rooms and great service.

Yes the location is great. Service was great. Eoom was small but clean and had complimentary basics. Pool was good. The music was loud but we had a busy day sleep through it. 😀

This hotel is located in the center of the tourist area, and if you stay on a higher floor, you can look out to the beach from a distance.

Fabulous 3 day stay|Thank you Ross who went above & beyond to accomodate us.|The rooms are very clean, spacious and nicely set out, there's a dining table/4 chairs, a kitchenette with fridge & dishwasher. Large TV & couch. Plenty of wardrobe space & lovely clean bathrooms. And a long verandah with chairs.|We enjoyed the pool & bars. The food was good. There's nothing more I can say but we'll done The Island, we will be back.

If we were to enjoy our Wedding day one more time we would have no one else except Destiny and the team at the Island to support us, guide us, and help us have the BEST wedding ever. Words would not do justice for the effort, consideration, humility and experience that Destiny brings to the table. We had torrential rain the day before and the selected room was not appropriate. Destiny called proactively to guide us through our options with available function rooms. We moved to the Penthouse. The weather turned out perfect the next day which was a nice surprise. The room set up was perfect. Destiny co ordinated the team flawlessly to suit the change of rooms. Our guests spoke so highly of the venue, the service and the food, all 10/10. We chose the family style feast and it could not have been better. The hotel rooms were modern and comfortable. The Rooftop is also a great place to meet your guests after your wedding. The price may seem slightly higher than the market and in the end we appreciated paying more as we felt like everything truly was taken care of. Thank you to Destiny and everyone that made our wedding an unforgettable day.

So we drove up to The Island Gold Coast Hotel from Brisbane airport. We were very lucky to find a parking spot in the hotel's basement parking lot. The front office staff during check-in and for the rest of our stay was very friendly and warm. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. Housekeeping was efficient. The breakfast (no a buffet) was a pleasant surprise. We liked the set dishes that were served at their restaurant for breakfast. My wife and I are vegetarians and we liked the veggie options (though limited) and my friend and his wife - non-vegetarians too enjoyed the fare. All in all I'd definitely recommend The Island Gold Coast for its location and all the other attributes mentioned above.

We went for few days to meet friends, prime location with all the amenities available. Tram stops right across the hotel. We had a delux king room booked which was fairly pleasant with spacious bedroom and balcony, only downside was bathroom was smaller, shower area bit mouldy otherwise I can’t complain about anything. Staff were very welcoming and professional. It does have bar and restaurant including gaming, pool areas. You definitely won’t get bored. Good value considering everything they are offering, definitely recommend this place if you are visiting for three or four days for couples.

We recently had our wedding reception at The Island in The Penthouse space. Destiny and the events team are seriously some of the best in the business. Incredibly accommodating making us feel like the only couple in the world to ever get married there! The food and drinks are incredible quality! Our guests say it is one of the best weddings they have been to. Definitely recommend The Island to anyone looking to host an event or for a central place to stay in Surfers Paradise.

Our Events Co-ordinator was exceptional with the service she provided. She was available for any changes and there were a lot of changes 🙄, so accommodating which made it easier to lock our event at The Island Rooftop. The Groups Accommodation was just as great - the rooms were amazing - so updated and comfortable - we are considering of using your hotel just to stay there for anytime we need to stay at the Gold Coast. The Event:- We had 2 of your colleagues who looked over everything for us. They were amazing and so patient. When I placed a bar tab over the bar - there was a small mis-communication between us that was rectified quickly. That is what counts, any hiccups - if they are rectified quickly and smoothly that is what customers remember. The cocktail carafes were lovely and the food amazing!! Everyone loved the food. The package we chose was more than enough to feed everyone that attended. A great time was had by all and we would definitely consider having an event there again. In fact, one of my brokers like it so much he was considering of having his work Christmas party there (if he can get a slot of course). Thanks to Emma and the team for a fantastic night.

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!!!!!!! My husband and i can not thank the GC Island enough on the lead up to our special day/night with such magical memories made with our closest friends and families. This place presents so well with beautiful rooms and venues. We had our wedding up in the Penthouse….. say no more! It was impressive, impeccable and mesmerising to say the least. The team was incredible and made our day/night unforgettable. Destiny our wedding co-ordinator worked wonders and made things impossible happen for us. We are so spoilt by this venue and we cant thank you all enough. Highly recommend this place for a staycation or for a venue hire. Hands down the best day of our lives xxx

Rooms are amazingly designed ! Outdoor furniture very bunnings like though .. nice outdoor furniture on balcony would have been lovely. Great service in reception and good pool spa and bar and food and club and pokies. Party environment though maybe not for kids. Everything downstairs and cavil one Block away. I will stay here again

The rooms are big, it's convenient to go to various places, there are many shopping malls. The restaurant in the hotel is delicious and the beer is cheap. I have no complaints. But why did they build a loud club in the hotel? The club music echoes in the room until midnight. I can't sleep. It's very strange.

A very old hotel in a superb location which is at the centre of Sunshine Coast. The lift is very old fashion, a bit scary when first step in the lift. The room is just fine as it has been refurbished.

If you're after a peaceful experience, don't book accommodation at this venue. I'm all for a good time, but the constant 12 hour thud of bass & repetitive music does impact your ability to relax/sleep.

Cold steak, wrong sauce, part order got lost! Not rocket science, but seemed too hard to get the basics right. Give it a miss. Ordered via QR code, drink didn’t come, needed to chase, then only one starter, then main never showe, so chased again. Finally arrived, cold, wrong sauce, soggy chips. Not worth $46

The food was absolutely amazing and i had so many of our guests amazed that it was and all vegan food event, which was so nice since when it comes to vegan food a lot of places don't really do it justice. The Island went above and beyond for our canapés and live food station, everyone was obsessed! The staff was also extremely helpful with any small issue that came up, which i really appreciated. The Island was amazing with moving things around to accommodate the vision i had for my event which was so lovely. Chantelle was so lovely and so helpful with the whole process, there where a few things i was having trouble with but she answered every silly question i had with so much kindness. I'd definitely recommend hosting any events here.

We had a wedding at the Island, the staff were excellent, special shout out to Destiny our wedding planner, she was fabulous nothing to much trouble. The only thing I would ask for is bottled soft drinks behind the bar, the Island doesn't cater well for the non drinkers. Only that horrible post mix.

Wow what an exceptional experience from the get go. My husband and I recently held our wedding at the island and it was a total one stop shop for us. Our ceremony and reception was held in the Glasshouse & wedding recovery on the rooftop- both were exceptional. The wedding was a destination wedding for almost 90% of guests so the accomodation onsite was convenient, affordable, clean and modern. The food was amazing, our guests raved about it & all the wait staff & bartenders (on both rooftop & glasshouse) were awesome and accomodating to all of my requests. The 2 stars of the show for us were Destiny & Jenna- what would I have done without you both. Both exceptionally professional and a delight to work with who made planning a wedding so fun & exciting. Destiny brought my wedding dreams to life and was a godsend on the day- helping the bridal party out with absolutely everything and ensuring the day ran smoothly. Forever grateful for everything you did for us, I’ll remember that day forever ❤️

Beautiful hotel and all staff were amazing Only thing I didn't like is as we went out during the day by the time we got back we had to walk all the way around to the back to enter even though they are open the won't let you back through the door even if you step out of the bar to have a smoke Also the windows are bolted open in the hallway and it made this horrible vacuum and slosh sound effects with the room door i can't believe no one talks about the sound even opening the sliding door to the room didn't help

one night stay, was perfect, the smart reno has some funk and i think its absolutely perfect for price and whats on offer. parking was a massive bonus

We had a family event at The Island for my daughter's 21st. The event ran smoothly with Emma's great support and The Glasshouse space was fabulous. On the night all the staff were attentive, polite and did a great job serving food, drinks and accomodating requests and orchestrating lighting. Special mention to Chantel for managing everything on the night. We had many family members staying for the weekend and the rooms were clean, spacious and well laid out. For most of the weekend our large group took over the pool bar area with a constant stream of drink and food orders. Thanks to the catering teams and servers for seamless service and great food. Also for accomodating requests for the rugby to be played on the TVs. All in all, it was a great experience at The Island and there wasnt anything I could fault. Thank you.

I booked The Island recently for my sisters Hens Party and we were all blown away! The food and drinks were phenomenal and the staff were so kind on a busy Saturday night helping us with anything we needed and having a laugh along the way also 😊 The whole process was so seamless with the help of the function staff and they answered any and all questions I had to make sure my sisters Hens went off with a bang! Highly recommended coming to The Island for night or day, you won't regret it!

Don’t stay here if you want to sleep. Great party hotel but not suitable for families as music was pumping until nearly 2am.

The staff were very friendly and approachable. They delivered top service throughout the event I went to. The penthouse function room is great for any event or function. The food was delicious and healthy and very generous proportions.

Room was lovely however I booked a room for two adults and two children and we were on level 4 above the roof top bar, no one was able to get any sleep until after midnight when the music stopped.
