For a 5 star hotel, disappointed is the only word to use. The location is great, but due to construction work have to walk a long way around to get to the shopping precinct. Half the TV channels did not work and had trouble loading the IP tv configuration, so had to reset the tv several times, streaming on chromecast did not work, wifi had a password despite being told it didn't, so we couldn't use it. No in house movies, and could not even purchase any... Premium hotel??? I think not. Fridge is not a fridge, but only a cooler, could not even fit a 1.5l bottle of water in it. No option for a basic breakfast, continental or buffet. Premium hotel, yeah, no it's not. Pool was unavailable and had to use star. Plenty of better options with more service and food offering for much cheaper only a minute or two away. Staff where nice and friendly. Room was ok, apart from the above, the pillows where shocking and left us with sore necks. They really lack the basics. I get they are trying to appeal to a particular client base, but you gotta get the basics right first. I couldn't even say it was an indulgence. It was not really that enjoyable. Money will be better spent elsewhere.

The hotel itself was very nice and clean. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. We will not be staying again as multiple staff members created an unpleasant experience.

Ideal for the casino and pacific fair shopping centre.

Stayed at the Dorsett Gold Coast and got upgraded to a higher floor with a beautiful mountain view. I was welcomed at the front desk by a very helpful lady called Jennifer who provided all information about our stay and made it a very simple process. The concierge Don took care of our luggage and was very friendly showing us the lounge area and gave a great vibe for our stay. The evening canapé had a variety of food choices with a beautiful view. Gabby in the Jin Bar on level 1 made us a beautiful coffee and took our order providing amazing customer service. The manager Caroline in Jin Bar made great conversion with us and made sure we got whatever we needed. We will definitely be back to this beautiful hotel and once again thank you to all the staff that made our stay amazing.

Lovely, clean, and beautiful looking hotel. Staff are friendly and happy to serve. The beds were comfortable, bath room was wonderful to use with lovey shower heads. The only thing was I wish someone told me about the pre paid breakfast option where I could pay less at the reception. No one told me even after I asked about it. Nether-less we really enjoyed our stay and would love to be back

Pretty disappointed. Staying here for 7 nights in the standard king city view and although the room is modern, it’s got to be the worse room I’ve stayed in the Gold Coast (and I’ve stayed in many). It’s a perfect room if you are only staying over night but anymore than that I would seriously think about staying elsewhere. Literally no wardrobe, draws or cupboards to store your belongings. Living out of my suitcase. The room is that tiny that I have to walk sideways between the window and bed when getting out of bed. House cleaning is below par. No hanging space to hang your swimmers after swimming in the pool. The bathroom heats up like a sauna due to the morning sun (and that’s with the blinds shut). Very little sleep as the room heats up of a night, put the aircon on and it’s blowing straight down on your head and there is no way to adjust it. Bright light under the door shining through. Only free to air channels on TV. Location is great and the staff are polite but that’s about all is going for it.

We had an incredible stay at the Dorset Gold Hotel! Staff is warm, welcoming, and very friendly! The room was spacious, spotless with a pool view and the service was exceptional! A huge thanks to the concierge supervisor Juliano Tropeano who left a nice gift for our anniversary in our room! We will definitely come back again and we highly recommend this hotel for everyone!!! 5* out of 5!!

We had a great 10 days at the Dorsett with family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in every aspect.

Dorsett was a perfect place to stay when having some time at the star casino . Even though right next door it felt away from the hub of the casino . Great pool area at the Dorsett and a cool little coffee shop/bar in the lobby . All the service was amazing from check in and awesome service at executive lounge but a massive shout out to Don the concierge who was awesome, my key didn’t work at lounge so he personally went up with me to make sure my new key worked , he gave me a quick run through of what is available at executive lounge and at what times . Absolute legend is Don and Dorsett should be very proud of him and the rest of the staff !!

Sarah Front of house was very pleasant and helpful customer service the up most, and Manager Dan absolutely awesome and pleasant and very helpful and wonderful man. With this type of helpfulness and great customer service, made our stay even more pleasant. Both staff definitely service with a smile, thankyou both for your professional customer service.

We absolutely love our stay at Dorsett, great location close to Pacific Fair, short walk to the beach, great pool, and great cafes and restaurants. The room is always kept clean and serviced on time, and we also got a view from our balcony. Shout out to Don, the concierge super star, who's always super friendly, accommodating and friendly! He was very helpful whenever we ask questions and there's never a question that he doesn't know! He went out of his way to offer water bottles when we sit around at the lobby and we even got Dorsett bear to commemorate our stay here. Thanks so much Don! We'd definitely return to stay here in our GC trip.

Apart from the obvious luxury and stunning appearance of the rooms, Dorsett Gold Coast have nailed the finer details that really set this hotel apart from the others... The fact that the tap for the shower is near the entrance to the shower instead of under the shower head so you can turn it on without getting wet. The little shelf over the toilet paper where you can conveniently place your phone. The power points near both mirrors so someone can be in the bathroom drying their hair and another in front of the mirror in the bedroom. The glass return/screen on the shower being wide enough so you don't flood the bathroom when showering. The text received the day prior to check-in to welcome us to the Dorsett and asking if there was anything they could do to prepare our room to make our stay more enjoyable. We live on the Gold Coast and decided on a staycation at the Dorsett instead of travelling to Noosa or Byron. The best decision we could have made!

Excellent room and friendly staff

Stayed level 19 Executive Lounge Room which had access to the Executive Lounge. I cannot fault this place, from the GET-GO everything was so smooth from check in- bags to our room, car parking was easy to work out, I don’t even think we paid for car parking? The breakfast WAS so delicious, all the foods were of excellent quality, everything fresh, and the afternoon 5-6.30pm snacks/drinks was EVERYTHING. I have never been to a hotel that offered such good value for money, there were oysters, scallops, fresh fruit, wine/soft drinks, cured meats/cheeses, it was just superb. AND everyday!! We have been staying with my 19 month old son and staff have been so sweet and accomodating. THE location is fantastic being close to everything, Broadbeach centre, Pacific Fair and the Starr casino right next door! The pool on level 6 is sooooo pretty!!!! Usually pools at other hotels you can tell are old and need some renovations, this hotel makes you feel like you’re in paradise. We will be staying here over and over and over again. Thanks so much for having us and we still have a couple of days to enjoy!! Thanks so much!!

Fantastic location, centrally located to shops, casino and couple of blocks from the beach. Room was super clean and modern amazing pool for swimming.

I don't usually do reviews, but I had to this time. Definitely a 5 star rating! This place was absolutely perfect. Great location with the Casino just downstairs and Broadbeach so close! Super clean rooms and the facilities were amazing. Greeted on arrival by lovely James, there was nothing to fault. The staff and service was phenomenal. Already looking for another weekend to come down and stay again highly recommend.

I thought the standard king room i was in, for what I thought was a reasonably upmarket hotel was pretty poor. It was quite small and there were no draws to put clothes, hanger were not in a closed cupboard and no towel rails in bathroom.

My partner and I stayed there earlier this week for our anniversary/ Valentine’s Day and it was amazing, the front desk staff were so kind and helpful, the room service was incredible, and the pool was a dream, if I could give them 10 stars I would!

Stayed in the King Deluxe Panoramic room, the views were beautiful but the room was not overly big, standard room size really. Huge shower, great if you needed wheel chair access. New large TV but again not smart tv so Chromecast options only. Most power points have USB's for charging devices, the master panel near the entry controlled lights and room cleaning service requirements on or off, really convenient. Parking was under the Star and $20/night extra so after checking in you then have to leave and drive around the other side of the island and enter under the Star Casino parking areas level 3 - 4. No snacks or anything in the room, but tea and coffee, a pod machine and small long life milk. Mini bar price list was provided if needed.

We recently stayed at the Dorsett and were extremely disappointed with my experience. From the outset, the check-in process was poor—there was no mention of breakfast (or even that it was available) I expected it to be on level 19 as that is what they seem to advertise on their socials, only to find it completely detached from the main hotel after having to go back and ask staff at reception. The room itself was dirty, leaving me feeling disgusted. When I raised these concerns, the response was very slow; I eventually received an apology that they were busy, but I felt my situation—especially concerning the cleanliness—should have been given higher priority. After making this an offical complaint I was offered hotel credit, which we accepted but on reflection we felt this was much more serious that just getting money as a sorry. Adding insult to injury, a bottle of wine was placed by the welcome card. I assumed this was a complimentary gesture, only to discover it was actually a mini-bar item. Such a mix-up is poor taste for a hotel that markets itself as high quality. The pool experience was another letdown. Shared with several other hotels, it was overcrowded, making it difficult to find a place to relax, eat, drink, or store our belongings safely. Guests frequently hogged chairs, leaving little space for others. For the price we paid, we expected much more. Apart from its location, the Dorsett left a bad impression. Our view was of a building site—not the hotel’s fault, but some sort of acknowledgment or gesture of goodwill would have been appreciated. Overall, we were left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Given the price point and the way the hotel presents itself on social we expected more.

Stayed here as part of conference. I travel a lot so perhaps I’m a bit more pernickety about hotels than others, It’s a good solid 4 star. Certainly no higher. Lovely bathroom, comfy bed, very cleanA few quibbles - why, in QLD in summer, do the beds have doonas? I requested a blanket so I didn’t have the aircon going all night. No blanket arrived so the aircon was on 18 all night. Dumb. Clothes hanging space too far from where you dress. No table, desk or chair so if you’re thinking of doing some work, think again. TV remote didn’t work. Walls and doors have scuff marks - not a good look. Check-in person (male) could have been a little cheerier. I wanted to stay an extra night but it was Valentines Day and the rate quoted climbed to almost $700. No way is this hotel a $700 per night, Valentines Day or not! The Dorsett was ok but I’d probably look elsewhere next time. But as I said, good solid 4 star.

Nice room and exceptional service. I got free upgrade due to my bday with a lovely card written, a bottle of wine and chocolate. The team is always responsive via email too. The pool area is nice as well. Love it! Will def be back

Hotel offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Pool is amazing. All the staff are very attentive & professional. Had a lovely breakfast downstairs, served by Gabi, she was just lovely, couldn’t have been more helpful. Highly recommend

We stayed at the Dorsett several times and this is my top 3 hotels in Gold Coast. The check-in process was smooth, fast and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was clean, well-maintained, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I love staying at Executive room (level 18) with Executive lounge access (level 19). We had breakfast included and afternoon snacks, canapés and alcohol. Pool is great, lots of sun lounges, towels. Bar at the pool area is open from 10am. Another benefit that you can use The Star Grand hotel’s pool, so you have a choice. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely consider returning for future trips. Sheets were not clean with marks and food crumbs on sofa. Everything else was brilliant. Breakfast buffet is shared with casino and is on par with most of the casino/hotel biffet around Australia.

Excellent Service by Staff and Beautiful rooms. Location is good, further back from the beach, however close to the Pacific Mall. Part of the building still under construction will be beautiful once completed.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Dorsett Gold Coast 31.01, and from the moment I arrived, I was thoroughly impressed. The professionalism of the check-in staff made for a seamless and welcoming arrival, setting the tone for an exceptional stay. The room was spotless, with pristine bed linen that made for an incredibly comfortable sleep. The bathroom facilities were immaculate, offering both style and functionality, which added to the overall luxury of the experience. A highlight of my stay was the Executive Lounge, which provided a relaxing and sophisticated atmosphere with excellent service and amenities. Warm guest rooms and considerate service attitude. Very efficient in meeting guest room needs. The best location on Star Island in Gold Coast. There is everything around downstairs. It is top-notch. Parking is free overnight on the street and free for three hours after 9 o'clock during the day. This is definitely the most cost-effective choice.

Really great experience. I have stayed as a couple but also with my children. Perfect every time. Helpful staff and amazing facilities plus great location.

I stayed last week for my 50th birthday, my parents met us and stayed in the same hotel. No acknowledgement of this even though I made them aware. Would like to mention Alicia who was amazing, warm and welcoming, extremely accommodating and friendly. Room was great, as we didn’t spend much time in there anyway however the TV was frustrating to say the least. We didn’t bother after a few attempts. My only negative was the amount of children in the pool, screaming, diving, etc whilst their parents couldn’t have given two hoots. Too busy with their heads in their phones. Perhaps they forgot, others were on holidays too. As mentioned by others, looking at females butt cheeks needs to be addressed. My mother made the same comment and the fact that towels were left on lounges for hours without anyone using them was annoying for others. This should be monitored by staff, there were enough to do so. Smoking and vaping wasn’t monitored either. I would stay again but hopefully these issues can be addressed by management.

Absolutely stunning accom. Beautiful clean rooms with top notch tech & function. The staff were all very welcoming & helpful, and the location was prime. A couple of minutes walk to the beach, eats & transport. Will be back!

Ciężko było trafić do restauracji gdzie serwowano śniadania a personel przy zameldowaniu nie wytłumaczył jak doglądnie trafić przez co błądziłyśmy

Its a 5 star review for a 4 star hotel. Please dont expect it to be a 5 star hotel quality because it isn’t that. Room and bathroom was clean and decent size. TV remote doesn’t really work but not a big deal for us. Service was excellent, called up to ask for toothpaste and toothbrush kit, delivered in 5 mins.!

Parking is the absolute WORST! The system they have is an absolute joke. You need to validate your ticket every single time you enter the car park. So if you’re doing multiple trips a day, you’ve got to go down to reception before you leave the car park. I ended up with 12 tickets in the 4 nights we were there. Such a poorly designed process! Don’t care that you “share with The Star”, get a better system. Room absolutely stunk of raw sewage, which on the second night we had to call reception who sent someone up to install some contraption in the drain under the sink. Apparently this is a building wide issue, yet they wait until guests are complaining instead of being reactive. Gym is shared with The Star, and I walked in and right out, it’s way too small for the number of guests it’s supposed to serve. Overall, it looks great in the pictures, and I feel the GC lacks nice modern accommodation but it’s just lots of little issues that were so disappointing. Also, too many families and guests slamming doors in the morning. And our tv was broken, it kept turning back on soon as it was turned off! Had to switch it off at the power point.

The facilities were also mind blowing, the pool alone was a tourist attraction. Casino is right next door too.

We stayed at The Dorsett for our Dad’s 50th and were so happy with the service and experience of this hotel! Don looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. He was absolutely amazing!
