Dead cockroach on the table. Dirty cutlery. Pasta was dry as, needed more cream. 1 steak was over cooked Mash was to salty and vegetables were under cooked, sauces/gravy was disgusting. Will not be back. Coming from a qualified head chef.

Loved the Cavill Hotel, food was top notch, and the service was incredible. We came in on a music trivia night, and watching the locals have some fun was certainly a highlight. 😊

Australia Day celebrations were great, the event was well planned, the atmosphere was fun and energetic, the bar catered well for my non alcoholic needs, all in all was a great day and would recommend to anyone.

We went to the Australia Day festivities at The Cavill Hotel yesterday, it was absolutely amazing. My family had the best time, the staff were amazing and the food was sensational. We will definitely be back.

Wow!!! We ordered just be for lunch closed for the day and had one of the best pub feeds every creamy carbonara and simply the best chicken parmigiana ever!!!! Thank you so very much!!!

The fish and chips and less for $25 or $17 lunch deal, the fish served is only half. They don't even give full fish. Whereas all the other fish n chips places serve full fish. What a waste of money.

Just had dinner here and the guy here was very grumpy and not cheerful. The food for 2 of us was good to be fair however the other of us was not satisfied with his nachos and wings. We couldn’t sit outside either which was very disappointing.

Disastrous Dining Experience - Avoid at All Costs I recently visited The Cavill Hotel and to say it was a disappointment would be an understatement. From start to finish, this was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I’ve ever endured. To begin with, the service was abysmally slow. We waited over an hour just to receive our food, and by that time, the initial charm of the venue (if any) had completely worn off. When the food finally arrived, I discovered a hair in my salad—yes, a hair. Not only was this disgusting, but the waiter had the audacity to pull it out in front of me as if that somehow resolved the issue. No apology, no replacement, just blatant disregard for basic hygiene and customer care. And the drinks? Absolutely overpriced and underwhelming. I can only assume they think their mediocre cocktails are worth premium prices, but I assure you, they are not. The entire experience was riddled with frustration, poor service, and overpriced mediocrity. If you're considering dining here, save yourself the time, money, and aggravation—go anywhere else. This establishment is an embarrassment to the restaurant industry. 1/5 stars (and that's being generous )

Took well over an hour to get garlic bread and we’re still waiting on two meals, even though there’s barely any people. The larger group who ordered after us got their food, ate and left at least 30 mins before we even got garlic bread.

We had no apologies or anything to make up for the substantial wait, neither were we told about how long thsi wait would be prior to ordering. I have run two long ladies lunch events at The Cavill Hotel in 2024. The staff are AMAZING. Nothing is too much trouble. The service, cocktails, drinks and food all FANTASTIC! The Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager made everything a dream for my event. On arrival everything laid out and organised. I highly recommend THE CAVILL HOTEL. 5 stars! We will be back in 2025 for sure!

Great food. wagyu steak with chips was amazing streak at medium rare was delicious while being that little bit soft chips where the best I've ever had. Sever was nice and really Into his job making sure it was good for the customer. Over all I would 100% come again 👍🏻 if I didn't live in Muswellbrook 🙄

Had Dinner there 13/10/2024 sirloin steak salad and chips.Steak was amazing top marks Salad fresh dressing nice but without being over the top gravy like my Nan used to make chips a tad overcooked but didn't phase me thankyou it was really nice definitely coming back well returned on the 16/10/2024 this time Chicken snitzel and salad chips once again the Cavill didn't disappoint awesome

We had a great time on the evening of 14/10 and the staff on the day were very welcoming. But the staff at 15/10 the next day were very unenthusiastic and had a very impatient expression... We were racially profiled and really unhappy! Although a security guard suddenly came on the 15th/10 and refused to let us buy beer... we already felt that we were racially discriminated against by the staff that day! My friend's money fell on the ground. Although the money has been returned to us, the female staff member on the day didn't want to give it back to us. She avoided my question and I said you can investigate the surveillance of the first 10 minutes before giving it back to us. It didn't matter, the female staff member returned my friend's money directly. The summary is that I was very unhappy that night!

We had an unpleasant night in a hotel on the Gold Coast and felt racially profiled. This slot machine doesn't allow people to win money... The aunt in the next seat must have lost a lot. I don't know what she said to the staff after that... About 5 minutes later, a security guard came in... Then we were not allowed to play the machine if we wanted to. The staff locked the screen. The most egregious thing we thought was that the staff did not let us buy drinks. We drank there until 1 o'clock the night before... The Gold Coast is not A tourist attraction? Are they being racist?

We are from Melbourne and first time in gold coast with my family. Staying at chevron towers. We went to cavil hotel for lunch and I must say absolutely delicious food, amazing service great staff.. Highly recommended place. We will be going again tonight for some amazing food before our flight ✈️

Massive portions and really tasty

Lovely food, charismatic staff, cheap lunch special. We got the carbonara and schnitzel, both big serves with yummy salad and chips + gravy. Also got the sour strawberry cocktail, was really nice

It is a good place to have drinks and food is not bad. I like the musical bingo they have every wednesday, however vouchers earned are not really good and can be only used for drinks not food.

Don't eat here, their $32 steak is the size of a salt shaker. Officially the smallest steak I've ever seen. Should be in the Ripley's museum.

I’v been to Cavill Hotel few times and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the Venue manager Dexter with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The décor is charming, blending modern style with a cozy, inviting feel. The drink selection is outstanding. They offer a wide variety of craft beers and unique cocktails. I tried a few cocktails that bartender Tyler recommended and it was perfectly balanced and refreshing. He clearly takes pride in his work and it shows in every drink served. Tyler was also very friendly and nice to chat with. In addition to drinks, the food was also fantastic. The menu offers a good range of options. The chef Steve is talented and each meal I had was amazing!! Overall, The Cavill Hotel is a fantastic local bar that excels in every aspect. Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind with friends after work, celebrate your anniversary, or enjoy a night out with live music. Highly recommended 😊

Excellent place! I went more than once and every day I paid Corona just 5 bucks. I was very well served by a very attentive red-haired bartender. If you're into surfers, it's definitely worth visiting the place!

Came for the Monday night mega Parma special on 22/04/2024! Food was piping hot and huge portion, service was great, staff were very friendly and food came quick. Also provided info on the deals they had on which was super helpful. The blonde lady serving was so nice!

Had dinner here on a Wednesday night for the $25 steak night, $5 coronas were also available, steak was cooked good , chips well seasoned and crispy and salad was nice , pepper sauce was on point, my only feed back is that the steak was advertised as wagyu ms9 , personally I don’t believe this is what we were served but I could be wrong , I have eaten and cooked a lot of wagyu rump ms9 and it was chalk and cheese in comparison, but still a great deal.

We went there for a few drinks after work Worst service ever Not many people theee and still took 20 minutes for bar staff to acknowledge us and then they spilled my wine all over the bar and ignored me when I pointed it out. They weee using a wine measure so it meant that the drinks were under size. Won’t be returning it just sucked

Had a lovely dining experience at the cavill hotel today for lunch. Almost didn't go, bse surfers paradise is not my favourite place, but the drawcard were the $2 oysters. Ordered both natural and kilpatrick, the latter had a great kick to them, and presented beautifully. The hake was a thick cut, cooked perfectly moist, and what won me over was the side salad. Fresh, and the best dressed side salad I've ever had. Usually side salads are wilted , no dressing and an after thought for colour/ to fill the plate. We well appreciated the chefs today, they made the cavill hotel a great experience xxx. Thankyou❤

The chips in this place are unbelievably golden crispy and the chicken parma very well cooked. Crispy outside but juicy inside. Superb! Well done to Chef Steve.

Went in around 9.15pm got told last drinks already called for a Friday?? Was going to play some pool have some drinks and bring friends but no...and last time I called in for a drink had to wait 20mins for one then they served someone for pool table money while I had been waiting. Hope someone else has better luck!!
