Beautiful location didn't stay here, was here for a wedding, and couldn't fault the place

We arrived at 3 pm, the designated check-in time, but were informed at reception that our room was not ready. It took an additional half hour for the room to be prepared. After that, I had to wait in the reception line for another half hour just to collect the key. The check-in process was extremely slow and poorly managed. At other hotels, rooms are typically ready well before check-in time. I’m very disappointed with the service provided.

We stayed last weekend for my wife's birthday, the cocktails at the Pearl bar were great and complimentary champagne in the room. However, we began to notice how dirty the bathroom was(mold in the tiles) and the carpet felt and looked grubby. The whole room is in need of a major update - but that's no excuse for un-cleanliness. The food was fine, but the staff in the dining room were not happy to be there (one in particular) should not working in hospitality. The Sheraton was once a Grand and you felt it, now it's very ordinary, except the location. How sad. I wonder if anything could be done?

Had buffet dinner and drinks and Mary is absolutely amazing! Great customer service, down to earth. Would come back again. She's helpful, down to earth and prompt with service. Legend

One of the worst Marriott Brands we have ever stayed at. Hotel is old and lack of maintenance. The pool in front of the room is dirty and no staff bothered to clean that up prior to our check in. The bathroom only has bathtub and no separate stand-up shower room available. Bathroom is a bit cramped and sink has limited space to even lay out our toiletries. Management is also a bit disappointing. There was a used soap found left in the bathtub on our first night. Swimming pool is understaffed, 80% of pool chairs are filled with bird shit and not usable. Though staff are in general nice and helpful, the infrastructure is just not up to standard and I cant give this place a better rating. Highly not recommend to stay at this hotel…

Huge complex with multiple pools and bars. Very family oriented place. The rooms were clean and comfortable with google chrome cast options for watching movies

Our stay at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Gold Coast was overall very good. The hotel was clean and modern, and our room was comfortable and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety, and the kids really enjoyed the rotating selection of pancakes, waffles, and French toast each morning. I particularly liked the Eggs Benedict, though I felt the buffet was overpriced for what was offered. The beach was beautiful, but the waves were quite choppy, so we didn’t spend much time there. The pool area was gorgeous, but unfortunately, even in the Australian summer, the water was quite cold, making it uncomfortable for the kids to enjoy. A standout feature was the parking system—they use cameras to scan your license plate, so you don’t need a key card to enter or exit the garage. It was a super convenient and hassle-free experience. We also ordered pizza by the pool, which was pretty good, and overall, our stay was solid. A beautiful resort with great amenities, though a warmer pool and better breakfast value would make it even better!

Was at a wedding. The food was very good and the staff excellent.

You’re paying only for the location. The room looks a bit old, nothing impressive. The breakfast could be good if the patisserie wasn’t the worst patisserie I’ve ever ate, didn’t even taste like croissant. The pool is nice if you can find a dumbed because sometimes you can’t, and the location is great, that’s the only think that is actually great. There isn’t much to do inside of the hotel a part of going to the pool. I thought it was a bit disappointing. Also we paid $900 per night, if it was $300 a night I would have think that was correct.

Nice hotel...great view...friendly and warm staff. Special thanks to Lina, staff at terrace restaurant for great suggestion and service...can't wait to be back again for another holiday.

We celebrated a family birthday there, the food and staff were amazing.

This hotel should not be a five star hotel. The rooms are so poorly outdated and there was dust coated on the alarm clock and lamp shade beside my bed. It feel like this place must have been really nice in like 2003. For the love of god, just shut down for 10 months and update your damn rooms. You’ll lose $$ in the 10 months you’re closed but you’ll make up for it when you open with a spectacular, clean, new build hotel. Charging your current prices and calling yourself a five star hotel is just bad business to your guests and frankly unethical.

Had the seafood buffet, which included some sushi, salads, crab legs, raw oysters, clams, raw prawns. As well as cooked white fish, a hot corn amd mushroom dish, shrimp fried rice, corn chowder soup, white rice, and lamb. The cost for the seafood buffet was $110. If you didn't get the buffet , there was a 2 or 3 course meal also available for $64 or $75. Staff didn't always keep up on clearly plates, so I just stacked them on top of each other. Staff was very friendly though. Dietary restrictions: all of the desserts contained dairy and gluten on the day I was there. Staff happily brought out a dairy free and gluten free option for me! Access to the beach was easy via little boardwalks through the property with a little water garden and the facility pool. Celebrated a hen party didn't stay in a room.

This is a nice property in terms of location but not without a few negatives. Some of the rooms are looking tired and some areas have a damp smell. The lagoons featured around the resort would benefit from being deep enough to swim in. This would be a massive plus to guests who have lagoon view rooms and relieve pressure from the main pool. The furniture is eclectic and adds charm to what otherwise is a pretty boring place.

Doesn't recognise your loyalty despite being a BonVoy Lifetime Platinum and a Titanium. I was asked to leave by mid-day because they were full. This has never happened in 24 years of BonVoy membership. Also, profile requirements are not followed for preferences.

We had an amazing experience at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay special. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their genuine hospitality made us feel truly valued. Our room was immaculate, serviced daily, and the evening turndown service was a delightful surprise. My boys were especially thrilled with the ‘Sweet Dreams’ chocolates left for them each night. The buffet breakfast was exceptional, offering a wide range of delicious options to suit everyone’s tastes. The Pearl Bar served incredible cocktails and food, and the poolside swim-up bar was a highlight of our trip. The poolside team were excellent always went above and beyond. The complimentary Streets ice blocks provided each afternoon were a definite highlight, with both kids and adults looking forward to their refreshing treat while relaxing in the sun. We loved our time at the resort so much that we decided to extend our stay by an extra day, it was just too good to leave! The resort’s beachfront location is truly what sets it apart. Being able to enjoy the ocean and then return to the luxurious poolside area was an absolute dream. Knowing that the beach is patrolled by lifeguards also gave us great peace of mind. The games room was another fantastic addition, keeping the kids entertained and giving us all something extra to enjoy. Overall, our experience at Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast was wonderful, and we can't wait to come back. If you’re looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway with top-notch service and incredible amenities, this is the place to be!

Needs an absolute refurbishment, as the hotel is so dated now. The whole marina around it is being developed, so very dead and depressing. When they've spent a few million bucks, it'll be great again, but for now, 3 star max

Trying to get a hold of them is impossible. I've talked to them for two weeks trying to cancle a reservation that said, if you cancle before January you get a full refund. Now I can't seem to get a call back, email, no one answers the phone. I've got no idea how this establishment is one of the most exspencive on the Gold Coast and you cant even get a hold of them, imagine trying to check in after hours or something you can't even get a call. *** update talked to Adam he's told me on two occasions that he would CC me in on an email to make contact with the 3rd party about cancelling but has not done so, sounds like there just waiting for it to run out of date before the canclation. I've been overcharged $620 and they won't do anything about it, just allowing these 3rd party company's to rip off there customers and make false claims on the websites. Becarefull please 🙏. ***** Update The resort is very run down 20 years ago it was the place to be but now I've stayed at better oaks and merriton for 1/3rd of the price also the service and food was terrible and the mold in the rooms they fix it by painting over it the pool needs refurbishing save your self the money and go someone else.

Very dated. No attention to detail. For the price we paid, we did not expect chipped paint and dirty pools. As an example (there were many) in a supposed 5 Star hotel would you expect grey gaffa tape over the door stopper to hold it in place? Of course not! The lagoon was disgusting and stained. Room felt musty, air con was loud, it all felt dirty and icky. The hallways were dark and gloomy and it felt unsafe and dimly lit. I was disappointed and very underwhelmed. Definitely not worth the price! We had stayed in a different much cheaper hotel right on the Gold Coast for a few days before arriving at the Mirage and honestly it was 10 times better and half the price. I would not recommend :/

A wonderful relaxing experience. Thank you Sheraton Grand Mirage for exceeding our expectations, we had a lovely stay! Specifics: Room: only downfall for me was the pillow discomfort, but this could be down to personal preference. Room service available till 11 pm every day. Amenities: pool is lovely, the swim up bar was fantastic although cocktail prices were a little on the high side. The pool lunch menu was also varied and very convenient. Cleanliness: no complaints, room was cleaned daily and linen was fresh. Windows were openable for fresh air. Hallway carpets a bit funky but this may be down to constant dampness of feet coming in from outside. Better ventilation or carpet replacement possibly will remedy this. Prices: as expected with a resort of this quality and proximity to the beach, prices are high. However, it is a Qantas Hotel, get your points’ worth!

Excited for the renovations of the rooms to come as my only negative is that they are outdated, loved the lawn access from our room, great position but the star of this hotel is the service from the staff and management while we have been here, absolutly amazing and so friendly and that's why we always come back.

Disappointed After 15 Years of Loyalty – Never Coming Back||We have been coming to the Sheraton Mirage for the past 15 years, but after our most recent stay, we are devastated by how much the property has gone downhill. It is no longer the luxurious experience it once was and is far from justifying its exorbitant $1,000 per night price tag.||The hotel is rundown and in desperate need of maintenance. The rooms felt dated, with visible wear and tear, and cleanliness was clearly not a priority. From dirty carpets to poorly cleaned bathrooms, it felt like standards have completely slipped.||The service was appalling. The hotel was obviously understaffed, and the staff who were there seemed overworked, untrained, or simply uninterested in providing even basic assistance. Most of the employees we encountered were rude and unhelpful, making what should have been a relaxing holiday incredibly frustrating.||It’s heartbreaking to see what was once a favorite destination for us turn into such a disappointment. After years of loyalty, we will never return. Unless drastic improvements are made, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s a shadow of its former self and not worth the money.

Went to Pearl's Bar for Summer High Tea which was delicious. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Would certainly recommend for a lovely afternoon out.

We stayed at the mirage recently and it’s certainly not a 5 star hotel. Service was terrible and the food over priced. Not to mention we STILL haven’t received our $400 bond back for our rooms and I’ve called twice and messaged. They claim to have sent this to us but haven’t provided proof. We still don’t have our money back 2 weeks later- Appalling.

Avoid this hotel at all costs!!! We have the reservation for boxing day. We arrived there after 2PM and was told the room was not ready. The front desk had no idea when it’d be ready and provided no compensation measures or ready time at all (no promise for late check out for the next day). As a result, we ended up waiting for more than 2 hours. This is nothing near from a 5-star hotel service and they cared nothing about the customers but only dumped you in endless wait. This is the WORST hotel experience in Gold Coast. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Had a lovely stay here just before Christmas. The rooms in the villas are modern, spacious, well-lit and clean, featuring cosy tropical views while not sacrificing on the comfort. They have been recently renovated it seems and the design is not only comfortable but also practical - which is a major positive. We especially liked the roomy living room adjacent to the balcony with a large couch for everyone to spread out and relax. Even better for the villas you actually get a private pool for yourselves, away from the children and with a on-demand bar and dining service available. The atmosphere was fantastic with the little walkways around the resort, and the various events such as the sand sculpting going on. The buffet also had a nice vegetarian / vegan selection which is well appreciated! Location is also fantastic with easy beach access and if you like walking, you can take a stroll down the beach either side to surfers paradise or the jetty. It is also walking distance to main beach and the restaurants and cafes down there! At the same time, it’s far away from the crowd so the area and the beaches are quiet! The only thing I would say is that the pool and buffet can get quite crowded around the holidays, so I’d reccomend keeping this in mind if you want a quieter experience. The first day was still very quiet and pool and buffet was manageable, but by the last day - just a couple days before Christmas, there was an absolutely insane amount of people visiting. So just a pro tip if you wanted a more relaxing atmosphere and experience Ps. The car park elevators have full on seats and cushions in them 😮

Absolutely crap I wouldn't ever want to stay here again the staff are lazy in cleaning the rooms not up to 5 star standards not worth the money to stay. I had to make my bed twice the first night and the second last day floors were dirty in the bathroom not vacuumed. We asked the cleaner for milk and she said it was Minnie bar person's job. The Sheraton hotel owners need to look at there staff and to pull there head and do there job properly. Also to put a smile on there face. Also I had breakfast one morning in restaurant and they didn't ask us if we wanted a beverage. I worked at air bnb for 2 years and I never had a complaint. There was rubbish in the hallway on the table for the week. The hard working staff are the pool cleaners and the bbq Asian guy he was very polite. It wasn't worth the money.

Very nice hotel right on the beach. Location makes it harder to get to things like restaurants (very limited family friendly restaurants nearby to the hotel). The pool area is great but not as big as you think from the photos. Most of the water you see is a water feature. Like most resorts, visitors “reserve” a pool chair hours before they have brushed their teeth. Still a wonderful hotel if you just want to relax and do nothing. There was lots on for kids which was great.

Outdated rooms, poor service across restaurants and the resort. Poor checkin experience . As a Marriott elite member was not offered either an early checkin or a delayed checkout . Large swimming pools but poorly maintained, restaurants are empty but claim to be booked for walking. All in all a poor experience not worth the dollars!

Family travelling with a child with disability, and received exceptional service from the VIP team which made the stay relaxing and enjoyable for everyone! Was an average hotel at best, it’s run down and past its prime. Service and staff are vaguely accomodating and for a 5 star hotel it is sub standard. For the price I would expect much better.

I was honestly so worried about this stay given the string of poor reviews, however I was more than pleasantly surprised. |Check in and check out was a delight - quick and efficient and they accommodated my request for an early check in. |My room was clean, large and extremely well appointed with all the little bathroom extras. |Pool service was exceptional and fast. Food was of top quality and the staff were friendly and attentive. The QR codes worked well; better than most places I’ve stayed. |I was delighted that there was always a great supply of pool towels and there was never any issues with getting a seat by the pool. |In my opinion and experience, this place is actually one of the best in terms of location ( on the beach), resort layout and service on the Gold Coast.

30 years ago this hotel was likely as good as it got on the Gold Coast. It is still a nice hotel but it really needs sprucing up. Their entire property needs a paint job. The fabric roof over the pool restaurant needed to be changed 10 years ago. The pool is way too small and the depth uneven, a particular shame when so much space is given to the decorative pools surrounding the main fountain so prominent in the pictures found on the internet that they use to lure you into booking a reservation. The breakfast selections were average at best and limited. In the bathroom, to take a shower you have to step over a barrier into a tub, which is very dangerous given that there is no shower door and the floor and surfaces get wet/slippery when you wash up. It's actually an accident waiting to happen. Paint the exterior, refurbish the rooms (particularly the shower), enlarge the pool and improve the food--then Marriott could state they have a 5 star hotel. Currently, it's a 3.75 star hotel. Not bad but don't expect a property on par with Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, or Peninsula.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this hotel. The cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable—our room was dirty, with dust and stains clearly visible, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in days. The concierge staff was unhelpful and uncooperative. Instead of assisting us with basic requests, they were dismissive and even rude. For example, when I asked for a simple breakfast adjustment due to dietary restrictions, they outright refused without offering any alternatives. This lack of effort to accommodate guests is shocking for a hotel of this supposed standard. The amenities were subpar as well. Overall, this hotel failed in every way—poor service, lack of cleanliness, and an unwelcoming attitude. I would strongly advise against staying here.

We live in the US but all of our family is in brisbane, with my parents having come to the mirage for decades. When we told people we were coming here for new years this year every single person made a face and asked us why. We then proceeded to spend our entire time at the mirage thinking about what hotel we will be staying at next because we will not be returning. If you like rum and cokes by the pool that take upwards of 50 minutes to arrive, hotel employees arriving 40 plus minutes late to your room, and finishing a meal at their restaurants before you can get a coffee this place is for you. It would have to be one of the last “5 star” resorts with no gym in the world and the first I’ve seen with dirt stained walls, 5 mins of hot water, and cracked and quickly plastered over infrastructure. The place is tired and the ones who run it have obviously given up trying to impress. Does it do the job? Yes. Is it worth what it costs? No. You get a way better experience for the same expense elsewhere and that’s what we will be doing.

To name a few:||- Dirty Laundry of the previous guests were left in one of the drawers.||- Significant amount of mould in the middle of the bathroom ceiling||- visible stains on the armchair cloth||- Malfunctioning mini bar fridge with water leaks inside/||- Dirty minibar drawers.||-etc…||brought these to the manager on duty’s attention, and emailed them the photos taken of the issue. We were offered another room with much better condition (still not to the level of cleanness I’d expect from a 5 start hotel carrying the brand of Sheraton), and were advised that the original room was now set out of order(!!!) to have the issues rectified. (I guess You would expect the room should have already been identified as out of order prior to being allocated to guests.)||In brief, I felt there was a systematic issue with housekeeping and maintenance which shouldn’t be the case for a 5-start hotel.

The resort desperately needs renovation, our room was worn out and damaged. Paint chipped and peeling, the carpet damaged and stained, the air conditioning struggled to work and smelled. The fridge stunk and leaked. The pool area is lovely but tired. The Terrace Restaurant seafood buffet was really disappointing and overpriced. The location on the beach is unbeatable but otherwise a tired hotel massively overpriced for its offering.

Lets start with the “Bad”: With the age we all need a makeover lol. Hotel needs new carpets as the carpet smell is really noticeable. Now the “Good”: The staff and location are beyond unbelievable! The managers Abraham, Mitch and Lauren made our stay so pleasant that we completely almost forgot about the carpet smell. On our check out day they gave us complimentary late 3:30pm checkout as our flight home was later that afternoon so we got to enjoy the pool and the room to the maximum! Itsumi coffee barista not only made the best coffee but is so kind and cheerful and we had the nicest chat and loved every second of her company. Branka in the breakfast area was also so pleasant and amazing. In room dining was better than most restaurants, fresh and delicious! Ethan, Brook and Sokham from pool service were so kind and attended to all of our enquiries/requests with the smiles on their faces. To the all above mentioned hotel staff: “Guys you are the best and worth more money to your company!” My family and I felt so comfortable and spoiled at this well deserved holiday after a long working year. Sheraton Grand Mirage Gold Coast, big thank you for your hospitality and we will definitely see you again.

Love this hotel. The pool and location of the hotel are superb

One of few resorts right on the beach and typical Sheraton grandeur. Highlights for us are swim up to bar with beers on tap and cocktails with enthusiastic bar staff happy to make custom cocktails. Good buffet breakfast and seafood dinner choices. Games room for the little and big kids and relaxing pool side lounges with plenty of shade. We have made this report a destination on several occasions.

I went this Sheraton Resort With my family for 3 days. and i gave them $300 Bone but still not back it's more than a week. they gave me Bill receipt there is just only 54 dollar we spend there. i need money back $246 dollars.

Very Disappointing. Tried to call before arrival, answering machine and someone returning my call 24 hours later. Extremely understaffed, lack of maintenance & rooms very old & tired, no hot water for the bath, 45 min wait to check in, gardens & pool not maintained.

Very poor rooms with no proper amenities OLD AND TIRED…facilities are in need of major repair and maintenance…found COCKROACHES in the bathroom …bath towel were very old and well worn..bed was well passed the use by date and generally very sad to see that your company is still selling the dream of a hotel that was once really GRAND…for what we paid for our rooms…you should be ashamed of yourselves….will NEVER trust your promotional material again

A relaxing weekend away with a group of family / friends. Nice pool access to the beach shopping on the other side of the road. Nice room service.

Rooms and pool need a refurbishment

We live locally & have dined at Terraces Restaurant twice in the last month. The menu was great, food delicious & the service excellent. We opted to have the 3 course menu & we were very impressed & it is exceptional value.

On arrival the view through the foyer out to the beach makes you feel instantly relaxed and like the holiday have begun. Exceptional staff throughout the whole resort, every staff member in any department was pleasant, professional and patient with any enquiry. Beautiful resort and located away from the bustle of much of the Gold Coast.

해변과 마리나를 구경할 수 있는 좋은 위치의 리조트 호텔. 칭찬 할 점은, 로비는 세련되고 깔끔했고, 직원들의 응대도 친절하고 유쾌했어요. 저녁 seafood buffet 을 인당 110$ 을 내고 이용했는데, 신선하고 다양하고 정말 퀄리티 좋은 뷔페였어요. 돈이 아깝지 않은 선택이였어요! 넓은 수영장과 수영장 내에서 이용이 가능한 pool bar, 수영장 뒤로 나가면 보이는 산책로와 해변까지! 위치는 정말 너무 좋았습니다. 넓은 객실도 마음에 들었어요. 하지만, 객실 청결 상태는 좋지 않았어요. 오래된 창문 틀은 녹슬어 틈이 생겨있었고, 밖이 보였어요. 변기에는 전 손님이 묻히고간 오줌 자국이 그대로 있었습니다. 그리고 방문 당시에 모든 엘레베이터가 고장이나 24인치 캐리어 2개와 큰가방 2개를 3층까지 계단으로 옮겨야 했어요. (직원이 도와주셨지만 그래도 직접 옮겨야 할 짐이 많았어요) 퇴실까지 로비 메인 엘레베이터를 제외한 다른 엘레베이터는 여전히 이용을 할 수가 없어서 호텔에서 숙박하는 내내 불편했어요. 친절한 응대, 식사는 완벽했지만 청결과 엘레베이터 고장으로 인한 불편함으로 좋은 점수는 주기 힘들 것 같습니다ㅜㅜ

This place seriously is a huge scam. Rooms are extremely dated, the 'lagoon' is full of bird poo. Dirty and dated pool area, and waaaay overpriced. Suspect most of these reviews saying it great are bots - find it hard to believe anyone would fork out thousands to stay here and feel good about it after. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.

Disgraceful and misleading. This is the lagoon access room but you can’t swim and looks nothing like it’s pictures.

Desperately needs a major renovation in hallways and rooms. Lobby it the nicest part of the hotel. Location is the saving grace. Pool tiles coming out and missing. Paint peeling off most walls. Hallways smell of mould and damp. Service is non existent and food prices are ridiculous and poor quality. Pool area not cleaned each day(rubbish, towels and broken glass left around) nor did I ever see a pool clean or check the 3 days we stayed. For the cost plus parking, plus anything else there are much much better actual 5 star hotels. This is 2 at best.

Room was bit humid. No Bar for Elite status of Marriott Bonvoy. I wasn't taken a great room as update of my status...

Excellent hotel with great breakfast and lovely rooms overlooking the ocean. Great pool and spacious so don’t feel like you’re on top of people. Also close to Mirage Marina. Closest thing we have found to an international style resort.

It's so old now,,filthy too,, my sliding verandah doors 🚪 had an inch of grey fluff filth on them, the carpets weren't vacuumed,, the lagoon room i had,, what the hells that filthy thing called,, was NOT like the pictures advertised at all.. There's paint peeling everywhere,,off everything all through the resort.. I paid over $500 for 1 night, and i couldn't believe the filth. Also NO smoking 🚭 at all in the grounds,,no safe area for me to go and have a cigarette. I had to leave the premises and stand outside the gate to smoke 🚬 Get over yourselves,, people smoke 🚬 🙄 Id rate you less stars 🌟 than 0 if i could lol An utter disgrace... 500 wasted,definitely was NOT a pleasant experience 😕

The hotel in general needs a total renovation. There is nothing wrong there that $100 million won't fix. It looks like that will happen at some point in the near future, because they have obviously skipped a lot of maintenance there. The rooms are equal to or worse than the oldest, least renovated Marriott you have been in. The worst part is when you go from the (nice ) lobby into the hallway to the rooms. As soon as you enter the hallway, it smells musty. The carpet is dirty and looks like its 30 years old. My room was quite a ways down and I kept hoping my room didn't smell like the depressing hallway, but it did. My room was a standard Marriott type room from the 1990's with very old carpet and windows. I'd guess that's when it was last renovated. it had a very nice pool area and a great beach. Kids would love it.

We were recently delighted by our stay. We arrived in torrential rain so bought lots of games on the way, thinking we'd be stuck in our rooms. However, the Pearls Bar was fantastic on our first night for dinner snacks and cocktails (and we were able to walk there fully sheltered). The next day the pool, swim-up bar and restaurants were fantastic and could not fault anything. The Reservations Team were also very helpful and friendly - in fact, everyone really goes above and beyond. We all thoroughly enjoyed the resort and can't wait to visit again. PS We never even opened one of the games we'd bought either!
