Love the place and ambience

Walked in at 5pm on a Monday night - not a single table left open for walk ins. Server was less than sympathetic and said we could sit at the bar with our toddler. Decor looks nice though

Dined here on Monday this week. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great food ! Will visit again when in the area .

Had an awesome night a mini golf with my daughter had dinner at the tavern. Ordered a kids chicken schnitzel once I realised it didn’t come with Source, I then asked for a pot of plain gravy which was an extra charge of $3. Tried ordering a cocktail from the bar no one else is at the bar was then handed a buzzer for when the cocktails ready at which point I said don’t worry about it. Just give me a beer and a strawberry lemonade. I was charged for the cocktail and offered no refund even though I made it clear, I didn’t not want the cocktail. The bartender than gave the cocktail to someone else that I paid for

2 for 1 deal Monday amazing value but book well ahead. Food did take an hour to arrive and my lamb was barely lukewarm. Pasta and salad was great though. Kids area was impressive with touch screens and random toys. The service team were all friendly, professional and accommodating. Well worth repeated visits.

We done here weekly for the excellent food, taste, quality & quantity. The staff who are courteous, friendly, caring & make a mean hot chocolate & cappuccino. The atmosphere is one of laughter and the regulars acknowledging each other. It’s a pleasant place for families, couples & friends. Sue Berg

Disappointed interstate customers. We asked where to sit as we noticed reserved signs on tables, to be told anywhere. We were then told to move for quiz night over a power point with no alternative table and dining with a small child. Terrible customer service by the manager himself. The manager had no solution other than our family move from our table carrying our food as it had arrived. We attempted to seek an alternative table and when we asked for assistance with this he didn’t have any coping skills. When asked if he was a manager and asked him to resolve this complaint with resilience he stated “wow”. DISGUSTING response from someone who is meant to be in a role that leads others. We also ordered a margarita and the glass came half full (as per picture) and when queried to the bar staff was told “i didn’t make it” and “how much have you had?” I told him none and I just simply wanted the same full glass as advertised happy to have lime juice as the topper. Disappointing, unprofessional and clearly immature when faced with a problem. I will never recommend.

I had an amazing experience at Mermaid Tavern! The staff were incredibly attentive, especially the team handling orders on Sunday night—they were friendly and efficient. A huge thank you to Chef Thiago for the incredible prawn pizza—it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

Family friendly upstairs, lots of promos for the locals, just a really good pub well managed and with the right staff, every staff member here takes the time to get to know the locals and make us always feel welcome.

Rude Staff and awful food hygiene...

Fantastic bar with a bus stop just outside so it’s a good place to go bar hoping as well as close to entertainment such as the Pool room just a couple minutes away. Staff are lovely and lots of banter with food being offered in the gaming room, including cheese toasties! Which I’ve never seen before haha Highly recommend and I’ll sure be back when I visit Gold Coast again

Mermaid Tavern is always a pleasure to visit. The place is consistently clean and well-presented, with a welcoming atmosphere. I especially enjoy the live music they host from time to time – it really adds to the vibe! They also have a fun quiz night every Wednesday, which is a great midweek activity. The food has always met my expectations, with consistently good standards. My go-to meal is the classic chicken schnitzel with traditional gravy, which never disappoints. I tried the pepper sauce once, but found it pretty bland, so I’ll be sticking with the gravy. Another favorite of mine is the salt and pepper squid – always delicious! For entrees, I can’t resist the garlic and herb pizza. Even the coffee here is surprisingly good for a tavern! The place is family-friendly, and the bonus is that it's right next to the putt-putt golf course. They even offer discounts if you bundle food with a putt-putt package, which makes it a perfect spot for a fun family outing. Highly recommend!

We had a group of 40 as a get together upstairs and the tavern handled the meal orders superbly. The quality was really good and the staff were very accommodating. Definitely worth a lunch or dinner.

Had a really enjoyable visit to Mermaid Beach Tavern. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing – you can tell they take pride in providing a welcoming experience. My wife and I are frequent diners at Mermaid Tavern so it was an easy decision to book for their Melbourne cup function last week when friends came to stay with us from interstate . To say we were embarrassed to have suggested we go there for the function is an understatement . For $120 a head ($480 all up for four) you think Mermaid tavern management would care when you write a private email to them giving them feedback on the day but nothing no reply no comment dont care ! Arrival drink was disgusting (saw nobody drink it) all left on tables.(some kind of strawberry frozen concoction) Canapes consisted of a couple of sandwiches and one of everything else one oyster one prawn biscuit etc a small bowl of cheese spaghetti with a finale of three small sausage's on a bed of mash. I would estimate at best about $30 of value so in order to drink your value to $120 ($90) thats alot of headaches in three hours . Food and service has always been excellent at Mermaid Tavern but we wont be recommending a Melbourne Cup Function to any of our friends again . Leon Mermaid Waters

Below was my review from 7 months ago. I've been here since too, and all was good. I went there last night with a number of friends for my birthday dinner. The waitresses were nice and friendly, atmosphere was buzzing, all my friends (4 other adults and 3 kids) had great food, but for the birthday boy, my food was rubbish. And when one is being shouted, there is great reluctance to announce that one's food is no good, so I just smiled and told everyone it was great rather than spoil the mood. I ordered the pork belly and was really looking forward to it too. When my plate arrived, it was obvious that the pork belly on my plate was going to be crap. It was dry and tasteless and my knife had a real workout trying to cut through it. This bit of meat had not been cooked that night and had been reheated from maybe the day before or even the day before that, so it seemed to me. This was among the top three bad meals I have ever had. I wouldn't go back under my own steam, and if someone invited me, I'd come up with an excuse to be somewhere else. I cannot believe whoever cooked my poor bit of pork belly thought they'd get away with this. So obviously the 1star review was just for my dinner. I went there on holiday. It was the best pub restaurant I have ever been to. Everything was delicious so I went there twice. I would like to go there again. All the staff were very friendly.

Visited a few times in the last week since moving close by, staff are an absolute stand out and they personally speak extremely highly of the establishment and the managers. You don’t often find that many positive staff members. Food has been great and just overall a nice atmosphere & place to visit.

Great place and location, first time attending trivia while on holidays and was loads of fun.

Atmosphere was ok, asked for medium well steak and received medium blood bath. Staff were rude and very pushy. I would not give this place any stars. Appalling to say the least, spoke to the manager on site and would not give me a refund for the crappy food we received.

Nice fit out and decor. But the food was some of the worst bistro/pub food I’ve ever eaten. Maybe if the head chef(cook) spent less time chatting to the manager at the pass and put more time into his prep and finding decent produce I could give it more than 1 star. Pork belly that was 90% fat and not crispy at all. Guacamole that hard chunks requiring a fork to eat. Philly cheese steak was seriously small and lacking in every aspect. Would never go back for food.

Father’s Day lunch was relaxing with great food & cold drinks🍻. Staff were fantastic as always. We really enjoyed our day. The only critic would be Aircon was too cold. Thanks guys we will see you again real soon

I hadn't been to the Tavern since for about 20 yrs..I didn't know it had been renovated and I was pleasantly surprised..When I walked in the downstairs door and saw the lift I was very happy as I'm disabled..I went upstairs to the wonderfully designed bistro with garden seating at front..I sat in garden A and reminisced about walking up those stairs and imaging what it was like before..It's so much better..I ordered Beef ragu pappardelle which was delicious..My support worker ordered Linguine Boscaiola which she enjoyed..I also got a lychee Martini which was presented beautifully and tasted amazing..Afterwards I went to the VIP lounge downstairs which is the pokie room..Friendly staff member behind bar and cosy pokie area..Highly recommend a visit..

Food was awful! $30+ for barramundi that was dry (pre-cooked, I assume) and flavourless pasta. Overpriced and under quality. Photos shows size of kids (12 and under) burger. This was delivered with week old carrot sticks (white and floppy). We had asked for more salad than chips with the burger. It was initially delivered with neither, then they slapped on 4 old carrot sticks and some cucumber.

The staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating to our children. This is now why we go 2 times a week!!

First of all I don't ever usually leave comment, but this place left me no choice, Kidd's play room is full of ball vending machines, so instead of the Kidd's playing and leaving the parents in peace they are hounding you for money the hole time. We waited an hour and 20mins for 2 mains and 2 Kidd's meals, which were bland and not worth the $.for example the Kidd's pasta is cheep tomato sauce and pasta that's it. Came with a group of 10adults + Kidd's all disappointed. Absolute joke. Definitely will not be back. Don't waste your hard earned money coming here!

Directly across from Broadbeach a prime location to sit and enjoy a beverage or meal. The venue offers a great selection of affordable meals, cocktails and other beverages. Options for alfresco dining, bar tables or seating that can accompany small or large groups. This is a Family friendly club that caters for everyone. The decor is a mixture between a relaxed tropical holiday resort light and breezy with a coastal feel and pub. It also has a sports bar with large screens including a pokie room hidden out back. The staff are attentive and friendly, the wait time for food is always good regardless of how busy the venue is. The manager has popped out on two occasions asking if our meals were good and if we needed anything. Highly recommended this venue it caters for everyone.

Enjoyed a lovely meal

I used to come to Mermaid Tavern years ago and hadn’t visited in a long time. I recently visited with a friend and I love the updates; it looks so fresh and clean. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I was disappointed that you cannot swap chips and salad for mash and vegetables, and I feel the price for extra mash and vegetables is very high. I would come more often if this option was available.

I love the food! The only reason I gave a 4 star review is that they don’t allow us to swap fries for mashed potatoes when ordering chicken schnitzel, which is disappointing. Most restaurants allow this basic change.

Good staff, food and entertainment. Has a Kids room not sure all the Items were working otherwise a nice have for families.

It was my first time at Mermaid Beach Tavern, nice venue very well laid out, we had lunch upstairs which was lovely, food was amazing…I had the crispy Barramundi and my friend had the mushroom risotto could not fault the food at all, the only thing that let it down was the service, tables were cleared ok…but no real interaction with the staff asking how our meal was…if we were happy with everything, which would have been nice, otherwise couldn’t fault it. 😀

We always go there on Monday which has a great deal of 2 for 1. Their steak is so good and the Espresso Martini which Adam makes is amazing too!
