Modern clean rooms. Easy check in and out. Staff great.

When we checked in we met a lovely lady who was interested in us and our stay. The parking was a little hard but that is because I have a large 4x4 but we were shown the best place to park. The rooms were not very clean, the bench had not been wiped down, the coffee cups still had marks on them and the floor was gritty (behind the doors had definitely not been done). On our second day we came back to our room to find the beds have been made and we had new towels, but the towels were damp and 1short, so my wife went down to reception with the towels to get fresh dry ones but was met with a different lady who was dismissive of the problem but did replace the towels. The rooms were comfortable but the beds need wheel cups because the beds kept rolling away. The shower leaks out of the splitter, the toilet screams" when it flushes and the towel racks fall apart if used"

Clean and very comfortable bed

My partner and I stayed for one night. The room was very large, modern and clean with nice natural light. The bed was very soft (we like soft beds) so may not be for everyone, especially if you are pro-hard beds. We didn’t use the pool as it was a fleeting stay but it looked clean and well looked after. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Very nice, a bit old-fashioned beachtown motel. The reception was very welcoming, the pool is open in the evening and morning for a nice cool-down and the rooms have plenty of space and a balcony. Appliences are a bit dated, but clean and well maintained, beds are comfortable, and there a tea/coffee making utensil in the room.

Beautifully renovated rooms, with all new appliances. Large bedrooms and living spaces. Perfect location, across from beaches, parks and cages, and a short walk to Cole's, cages and restaurants. Highly recommend.

The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need for our stay. They were bubbly, informative and happy to assist. The room was perfect for what we needed, and the location was great. Would recommend :)

Everything was fine except for the value for money.

Very clean and well taken care of room with A/C, which made the summer heat bearable. Easy check in/out process and centrally located with easy access to restaurants, beach, cafes.

Good location, easy access to beach

I recently booked a stay at Red Star Hotel Palm Beach through the Qantas application. Unfortunately, I made an error when booking, selecting Monday the 9th instead of Tuesday the 10th to Wednesday the 11th. Upon realising my mistake the following day, I contacted the hotel to inquire about options to rectify the situation, such as utilising a credit and paying any difference. Regrettably, the response I received from the manager was both dismissive and unprofessional. While I acknowledge the booking error was mine, the contentious attitude I encountered was disappointing and not what I would expect from a hospitality establishment. The interaction fell well short of the standard I associate with Qantas-affiliated hotels. In comparison, I later stayed at QT Surfers Paradise, where the service was seamless, accommodating, and reflective of a high level of professionalism. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Red Star Hotel Palm.

It was nice to see a prompt thank you note from the Manager of the property, but yesterday I was in a bit hurry so couldn't complete the review. My detailed review is below: The reason we choose the property was, out flight to Melbourne was cancelled at 4PM & we were provided an alternate option for the next day. In that situation of distress and based on the reviews on Booking.com, we booked this place, booked an Uber & reached there. This is where our experience started: 1) The lady (I forgot to ask her name, else would have mentioned here) at the reception was very friendly & welcomed us with a big smile. She also told us that in case we face similar situation in future, just give a call directly & they will offer better rates :). 2) The room (18) was very neat and clean and surprisingly they had tea-coffee sachets along with cookies as well (which I was least expecting in Red Star, based on my recent experience in one of the best hotels in Sydney, located on Circular Quay, as they failed to provide enough tea-coffee supplies for 5, let alone providing cookies :D). 3) As our flight to Melbourne was next day at 1PM, we were informed that we can leave the room any time we want, don't have to vacate it at 10AM (all this at no additional cost, unlike some big hotels). 4) Location of the hotel is very close to the Palm Beach (5-7 minutes walking), which again was surprisingly less crowded than Surfers Paradise. It is also very close to the airport (around 7-8 kms). 5) There are quite a few eating options, if someone is driving, else Uber Eats deliver everything to the location. 6) The property does have a small pool as well, just in case someone is feeling bit lazy to walk to the beach :). If someone is visiting Gold Coast for a quite break, this place is highly recommended.

The manager was so lovely! She was very informative, kind and made the stay so easy. The rooms were very clean and it’s the perfect location to walk; within 10 minutes you’re close to awesome restaurants and the beach is right across the street. Only thing holding back from five stars was the bed was not super comfortable for us. However, that’s always a personal preference! We just found it a bit too springy. AC worked great in the room though and the pillows were very comfortable.

We arrived earlier than anticipated and our room was ready. Room was huge, bed comfortable, sheets and towels of high quality.

I needed a place near work in Palm Beach, and this was spot-on. The spacious rooms were ideal for relaxing and working, whether at the desk or out on the balcony. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it an excellent choice for both business travelers and families. Highly recommend!

We stayed for one night. The rooms have been recently renovated, clean and modern. Beds very comfortable. The Manager at the front was very friendly and accomodating. Only issue is the tight car parking area and spaces, however there is lots of on-street parking. Short walk across the highway to the beach

The room was at the top of several flights of narrow stairs. Getting our luggage to the room was not easy. The room was modernised yet basic, with limited views and a very small not private balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful but this old motel is not worth the money.

Very neat and tidy . The male manager was very helpfull. My only issue was the two flights of stair we had to walk up and down. I did say to the lady when we booked several months prior to our sty that we were seniors and I had trouble with stairs and if they could keep us on the lowest level. This did not happen and I struggled getting up and down . Other than that we enjoyed our stay..

First time visiting family in Palm Beach. The rooms are spotless. Front desk was very welcoming and let me know great coffee spots. Steven head of maintenance was very helpful. I didn’t need anything fixed he just said let him know if anything needs fixing. Honestly would happily return to this Motel. Five stars. Exceptional value for money.

I stayed three nights while my father was in hospital at Tugun. First night I was in a room the room was very comfortable and clean. The 2nd & 3rd night I stayed in a unit, this was amazing very roomy, well furnished and once again very clean it had everything needed for a family stay. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and the rates were the by far the best in the area.

Very noisy place at night can hear all the traffic on the main road. Can hear through the walls had a few men drinking next door until 3am, they were very loud didn't get much sleep one of the nights stayed for 2 nights. At 1 stage sounded like they were trying to use their swipe card to enter my room. Was quite scary as I was the only adult in my room with two children. No where to wash your clothes and had to carry heavy suitcases up a flight of stairs to get to your room. Besides that the room was very clean on arrival, lovely front of house female staff member.

I stayed at Red Star Palm Beach for one night and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. From the outside, the accommodation looks quite dated, but don’t let that fool you. Once inside, the room was beautifully renovated with modern and fresh decor. The bathroom was a highlight—clean, contemporary, and featuring both an overhead rain shower and a removable shower head with excellent water pressure and temperature control. The room lighting was bright and welcoming, adding to the overall ambiance. Despite a small stain on the chair, it was incredibly comfortable, and the bed and pillows were simply amazing—honestly felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. I had a peaceful, restful night and wished I had booked a longer stay. The location is quiet and private, making for a serene experience, even without a beach view. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for comfort and modern amenities.

Very comfortable and beautiful

The location was great but room wise they only gave us one dish washing tablet and the dishes have to be clean when we leave which was a bit annoying. The pool was really cold but good in summer for a cool down and make sure you keep a close eye on your child as the hotel is on a main road

All you need. It's clean. Good size room. Beds are comfortable. Free car parking. Walking distance to beach and restaurants.

Good value, excellent service , easy access

This place is excellent. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the rooms have been refurbished. They are clean and bright, the bathroom likewise and spotless. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location is right at the southern end of Palm Beach shops, and easy walk and the management were really lovely.

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds and airy clesn rooms. Car parks are very small onsite but olenty of parking across the road.

Had a great, albeit brief stay at Red Star. Reception staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating to our early check in request and eating tool supplies! Staff offered additional towels for the pool, and recommendations for nearby playgrounds with our children. Easy to get to from public transport. Happy guests!

I have been staying at Red Star regularly about two and half years and it has always been very comfortable with great beds even before the renovations. There has been several managers all very nice and their general staff for cleaning etc have always been lovely some that have been there quite a long time. I have family on the Gold Coast so I am down there several times a year and always stay there. Thank you very much for a home away from home

For the price, this place was a pleasant surprise! Nice big room, recently updated, clean and well appointed. The manager was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

The bed was the most comfortable we've stayed in. Thank you for that. We were warmly received by the staff member who had sent us a text about access on arriving after hours. However, we didn't see this text so had to phone. She was most gracious when she came out to show us how to access our room. The only disadvantage was having to climb up external stairs to access the room.

Excellent hotel! Comfortable and meticulously clean room, lovely cleaning and reception staff. Handy location with good parking. Looking forward to more stays!

An amazing little motel that is updating their look, beautiful comfortable beds with a great shower, although I wish they had cutlery and crockery in the rooms as a microwave is supplied. Their customer service was amazing, would 100% stay again with easy access to the GC highway and the beach basically on the doorstep with Currumbin sanctuary close by.

Very well managed establishment. The front office lady is awesome. Professional, kind and considerate. The nearby pirate park is great as is the dune cafe within the park. Highly recommend Red Star, Palm Beach

Sam was the most lovely host! We were upgraded to an apartment! The room was lovely, everything you needed was in the room and a very close walk to shops and the beach! I couldn't recommend the Red Star highly enough. Thanks Sam :)

We came from Melbourne for the weekend and the hotel was very modern and clean. The owner was so lovely and welcoming and even upgraded us to a 2 bedroom as we thought we had booked a room with a balcony. She was very accommodating. Was a nice quiet area but in walking distance to shops and the beach.

Perfect for a night away

Really nice setup, and the only thing I can fault is the walls are paper thin. Pretty important in a motel, and maybe I got a bad neighbour, but they seemed like they were in my room

Staff are friendly. Parking is a bit tight especially if you have a bigger car! Rooms are modern and very clean.

The standard and cleanliness of the room was outstanding. The staff were extremely helpful and professional. Road noise at night was the only downside to my stay and that was outside the control of the motel operators.

Was a very nice stay in a quite and well presented hotel. The only drawback was even though the room has a microwave there was no cutlery or bowls to eat from. Apart from that, a very nice experience.

The staff were very accommodating of our late check-in and provided very clear instructions. Overall, I was impressed with the space and cleanliness, as well as the option to have a bed with 3 single beds. The location was also very good and close to the beach. The one thing to note is that the car park is quite small and was hard to navigate with a lot of ute’s parked there.

Stayed in a queen room. The room was modern and good value. The room was on the second floor and only accessible by stairs, which was fine for me. Although the hotel is located near the highway it was quiet once the doors were closed.

Lovely place to stay very clean and modern

Great stay. We had a fantastic comfortable warm sleep. Excellent location considering what we were looking to do. Would definitely stay again. Reception very accommodating and helpful. Would recommend. We had a function on at Currumbin Surf Club so this was perfect place for an overnight. With hindsight wish we had booked two nights now.

We were very happy with our stay, we were unfortunately late, but the Manager Sam was very good to accomodate us, good communication. The room was very nice & looked to have been renovated since our last stay there. Tea, coffee, milk & biscuits supplied. Bed was comfy & bathroom & shower were good. We were only there overnight but will return. .

This is a wonderful motel very close to the beach, cafes and the airport. Despite the outside appearance the rooms are very clean and well appointed. We had a balcony, TV, mini fridge and a really comfortable bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud! The staff were amazing and friendly and we had an allocated car park. They made it very clear on their website that the room we booked was on the 2nd floor so we were prepared for the two storey walk upstairs. It was a quick 5 min walk across the road in the morning to a cafe for breakfast.

Very nice and clean 2 bedroom unit. Close to beach and shop. Korn, the receptions was extremely nice and helpful. Will stay here again.

Fantastic location! Easy access from Brisbane and OOL. Directly across the way from the beautiful white sand Palm Beach and near the unmissable Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary! We arrived in Brisbane from overseas and took public transit from the airport right to the hotel in time for an early check in to an upgraded room. (One comfortable train and one neighbourhood bus through ♿️ modern and accessible transit stations.) Extremely attentive family friendly service, this hotel is very well managed by Jason, his lovely partner, and their adorable daughter! Going out? Lots of shops and cafés within walking distance, as well as a Coles, bottle shop, and unlimited restaurants. Check out the Currumbin RSL, and the Palm Beach SLSC for good food and great service. I walked along the beach and went for a swim every morning we were there. Going a little further? Take state transit busses up and down Gold Coast Highway to many area tourist destinations. Buses are clean, safe, frequent, and reliable, but may be full when the area school lets out. We got transit cards on arrival at Brisbane airport and used them in Palm Beach and Brisbane. Going even further? Cars for hire at OOL (Gold Coast Airport) nearby will get you up and down the coast. Rent a sub compact if you’re not used to driving on the ‘wrong side’ of the road and take a scenic drive to Byron Bay for a picnic on the beach! The motel is a bit outdated, didn’t have an elevator and all the rooms are upstairs. The shower didn’t have any force. The room is super close to people who want to visit palm beach. The service provided by Korn was good.

I was very impressed with your staff member Korn. Gosh what a warm welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. He is a real asset to your company, particularly after your unprofessional response to my request for an early check in. I told him about that and his efforts to make me feel better about your motel saved the day ( and a poor review) I’ve been travelling for years and stayed in some fo the best hotels on the world and Korn stands out as one of the best hotel staff members I have come across.

The motel is very old looking BUT the room I stayed in was newly renovated and very comfortable. I intend to make it the place where I stay when requiring accommodation on the Gold Coast.

Large spacious rooms, very clean and everything we needed. Location was great, we flew in late at night so being within short driving distance from the airport was super handy with a small child. They also offered a late check in which was very easy to access when we arrived.

Good customer service. Neat and clean room. Walking distance to the beach and to Coles, restaurants and takeaway shops.

AC was not working. TV Remote control was missing. No one at the reception seems to care about these problems.
