We had dinner on Saturday night, on arrival the guy on the front desk barely acknowledged our presence just advised us to go upstairs. We found the staff upstairs the same. I ordered the Coconut Prawns the meal consisted of a huge amount of lettuce a few pieces of cucumber and tomato 5 prawns swimming in dressing. My partner had the lamb shank possibly microwaved, hardly any taste. For the price paid it was very disappointing.

We decided to spend the day at the beach. We had coffee and a breakfast bun from the downstairs Cafe after our surf. The beach is very safe and nice waves & the staff at the cafe were very friendly and above all the food was delicious.

Came for lunch today l had bugs fettuccine. The pasta was so old it would have stuck to the roof.(yuk) and my partner has the ribs. Meat was tough. Sorry cool won't b back

I had pre dinner drinks and then dinner at the surf club last night, a great experience. Plenty of specials for each month across food and beverages! I had the Heineken beer and the BBQ chicken pizza. Pizza was a generous size and the beer nice and cold. We were well looked after by the staff and the vista was perfect. I’ll be back as soon as I can! I came back and was glad I did! Cocktail of the month a lychee mojito! Delicious!

Lost a star for no carpark..With only 3 disabled parks they go quick and it's a busy place so hard to find park..Anyway beautiful club with the best view..Friendly staff and nice pokie room..Food was delicious and they have a separate cocktail bar that I think is awesome, don't see that anymore..

We just had an amazing meal, the eye fillet was truly delicious, cooked to perfection. The pasta smoked salmon special really exceeded our expectation. The service was top tier, who knew a surf club could be this amazing. A great place to eat and experience our beautiful area.

Enjoyed a lovely night here with family. We shared the fish tacos and prawn pizza and they were both generous serves and very tasty. Staff were attentive and helpful. Sat by the window, great view and breeze.

Came here after a sequence of disappointing hospo experiences, and loved it. Sensational setup and views over the ocean, really well run - clearly know how to manage a crowd, and have the staff to deliver. Steak was excellent. Will try the seafood platter next time.

Fabulous spot. Lots of space. Staff good. Food was great except the slaw was basically cabbage w a LOT of mayo so inedible but ribs Caesar salad schnitzel were all good.

The food at Coolangatta Surf Club was very flavourful and rich in taste. They had a great half chicken packed with flavour. The drinks were also spot on. It had a stunning view of the beach, being right on the water. My only issue was that the sport wasn't on any of the TV's, even though we were there during the Aus Open. Overall a very good experience.

Love this place. The oysters are so lovely and also all the seafood. The meals are so generous. Bistro supervisors 100 percent of the time always ask how your meal is and bend over backwards to deliver a high standard of service. Rose especially. Coolangatta surf club should be proud of the calibre of her service and professionalism. All the staff highly professional. The view is stunning and love that you can’t book and it is about you going there and getting a table rather than like other places and people do not show up to bookings. Cocktails are so good. Meals always arrive in a timely manner and love you can order at the table through QR Code by far the best surf club around.

Cracking place to visit with the family, staff were super friendly from the front desk, to the wait staff and all involved, steaks were beautiful and the kids loved their meals. Although the weather was poor during our visit it would be amazing on a glorious day. Well done.

Really disappointed with the seafood platter.We have been members for 5 years and the seafood platter has shrunk from 3 tiers with crab,mussels,oysters,prawns,calamari,octopus,smoked salmon,fish,bugs,.scallops and a selection of fruit and salad to two tiers of fish,calamari,oysters,prawns,one bug,scallops,watermelon,6 tiny slices of tasteless abalone,salad and chips.I understand that costs go up but definitely not the seafood platter they used to serve :(

Consistency with the quality of food was unparalleled, 4 nights in a row without a single complaint. Even while extremely busy, wait times weren’t bad, and the meals remained exceptional (all while maintaining a reasonable price range). Try the wagyu burger, the second best burger i have ever eaten - and i have eaten a lot of burgers.

Came to Coolangatta surf club for dinner and ordered a prawn chilli pizza for 28 dollars and what I got was a pizza about 8 inches in diameter which is a mini pizza size with about 6 prawns on it. I thought someone was playing a joke on me when it came out! I spoke to the manager and she said that prices have gone up and there is nothing she can do except let the chefs know. Yikes I just paid FULL price for a pizza and got a kids snack at best won't be returning to this place again. And my partner is a member if this is how members are treated I'd hate to see how big guests pizzas are probably can't even see it without a microscope!

A great place for lunch. I had a pumpkin wrap with chips. It was yummy but would have been so much better if the wrap was toasted, not cold. The chips were delicious.

Service was top notch. Power went out and we were a little concerned about ordering but they handled it well (despite no communication to customers that weren't asking) No atmosphere though with no background music and the food was disappointing. Ordered cob for entree which was OK. Mains were a seafood platter which fair enough its deep-fried, was flavourless and boring with a very small portion of tartare in a cardboard cup. Fish pie was very watery and the seafood was in large chunks. Cleanliness of glass and touch points needs work.

Had a wonderful lunch today celebrating my sisters birthday. We all really enjoyed our meals, they are very generous servings and we had Geoffrey attending to us, he was extremely helpful and kind, a great asset to the club. Thanks heaps really enjoyed the food, service and view We will definitely be coming back again soon ☺️

Don't bother. Some company and I were recommended to visit the Coolangatta Surf Club for a meal, so we excitedly went for a meal. Our findings? -The small-portioned meals were expensive and poorly-timed eg mine arrived after 8min, the second arrived after 15min, and the third after 25min even though all were paid for within a 3-minute window. -The beers were priced well, aside from the pour being 5-10mm under the edge of the glass. Every. Single. Time. -The final piece that really made us leave quickly was the unwarranted anti-social behaviour of other customers attending the venue. -The wait and cocktail staff were pleasant and efficient. Overall, a poor recommendation. We won't be returning.

For the first time and a non member it was easy, staff are welcoming and it started at the front desk, the man with the beard was informative and cool, hand over so form off ID and ☺️ he sends you up the stairs to the next stage and once again a great welcome. At this stage I had the choice of tables as it wasn’t quite lunch time, so given menus from drinks, food and deserts I sat by the window, and looked at the menu which wasn’t t over the top for choices which I found great. I was hungry so I went for the lamb shank, and a kiwi wine ( which was great to see). So the lamb shank it was big, with the mass potatoes and peas but lamb shank was lovely, the meat came away from that bone but the gravy could of done with a bit more flavour, as for mass potatoes are what they are and not a real far of peas but they where cooked well not over cooked like most I’ve come across. So if you are looking for a place to have a good meal maybe try this place 😋 By the time I left the place was buzzing. Sadly no photo, I always forget to take photos of my food 🤭

I recently made a complaint in a private message on Facebook and was told to speak to Steve (via email) who apparently is the General Manager. I did this and received no response at all. Very disappointed as I thought my concern was legitimate! We are regulars there and thought our email would at least have been acknowledged…… I’d like to add now being a week later that the Manager has contacted me and I am very impressed with his professionalism. I come from a corporate background and am very appreciative of his response

STUNNING beachfront views as far as the eye can see. Super friendly staff all genuine and helpful. The food was sensational and great value, perfect for a family catchup or as a couple. We loved it so much we became members and can’t wait to return. Bring your cozzie and go for a dip afterwards at the beach or visit the shops opposite. 11/10

Fabulous day best location in Coolangatta staff are warm welcoming food is a awesome a great way to spend a lazy afternoon with the best ocean views. Being a regular member for many years was disappointed today 10/ 11 /24 Why ? Sunday arvo raffles are fun & a fabulous way to support the club- the host of the raffles Mark HAS always made it a fun afternoon! Mark is very entertaining & sells those raffle tickets like hot cakes..The why my /our disappointment is now his not allowed to tell his quirky jokes.. Come on people!! if you haven't a sense of humour 🙄 go bowling, or go somewhere else. Someone who comes into our local club winges & complains about a few jokes, really...shame on u! We consider that person annoying they should just go home leave 😑

Sorry, but bad experience. Paid my membership, which is cheap, and that made drinks cheap. They don't take bookings, so I tried for 3 days to find a night where I didn't have to wait for a table. Finally it wasn't so busy tonight. I went to order and they asked my table number. I said I had 1 and tried to order from the Qr code and it didn't work. Give me a seat and the problem is, if I get up, someone will take it. That's exactly what happened, but lady that took it have me the table number which I took to another seat. Ordered a chicken Parmy, bad move. Chips were obviously sitting there for a while and crunchy. Parmy was simply a snitty with tomato paste, a piece of bacon, and cheese. Had a parmy at Coolangatta Sands which was 100% better. I did see so many nice looking meals come out to other people, and it is busy, so must be just my experience tonight. So, don't let me influence you going, the amount of people there suggest it is good.

Great food with a view... My only suggestion is that when patrons order from the table using the QR code, its because they've chosen to stay put. Might be a good idea to bring the required cutlery with the meals rather than leaving it up to the diners to have to walk over to the meal counter to collect their own. Kinda defeats the benefit of the QR code system...

We (2 couples) chose to have our last big dining-out meal here at the end of our 28-day visit to Australia in Oct. 2024. It’s got a great location right on the beach, the menu is loaded with enough items to satisfy any tastes, and the bar has a wide variety of wines, beers, and liquors. All 4 of us agreed that it was our best meal of the 28 days. Similar to a few other restaurants we’ve visited, you go to the bar to order and pay for your liquids, and you go to another counter to order and pay for your meals. They deliver the meals to your table when ready. I had the Prawn & Bug Fettuccine. What’s the “Bug”? It’s basically a baby lobster…already cut in half for you, so you can easily extract the meat and discard the shell. There were plenty of prawns too, along with a rich and tasty cream sauce over everything. Portion sizes are plenty big enough. I couldn’t finish all the pasta. Others at the table had Garlic Prawns (“Fantastic”), Chicken Parmigiana (“Very good, but way too big to finish”), and the Warm Thai Beef Salad (“Very tasty”). We explained to the Hostess that we were finishing up our month-long visit to Australia, and she very kindly put us at the last available window seat. The windows are pretty dirty from surf spray, but we still enjoyed looking out at the ocean as we dined…even saw an Australian navy gunship arriving as we ate. This is a fairly large venue, so it was pretty noisy. That would be my only negative comment about the entire evening. And it wasn’t “stupid noisy”, just your regular crowded restaurant noisy. I don’t think anybody would be disappointed with the food here. I’d go back again and again, and would certainly recommend it to all who read this review.

I had the Chef’s special Chilli Mussels Spaghetti on Saturday the 12th October and thought the sauce tasted like something you would get out of a tin. Very disappointed as every time we have been here previously the food has been delicious.

For a Surf Club the food and service were amazing. The food is great value for money and the venue is ideal for large groups or families with children. We enjoyed our lunch and time here. Pictured are the steak and the seafood platter.
