I gave 5 star for rooms but didn’t stay here! We stumbled across here for lunch before flying home, I told the lady to pass on a message to chef about the best tbone I’ve had in a long time! True pub grub, not over priced, massive meals & killer tbone! MedRare cooked to absolute perfection! Thank you.

Great, budget accommodation option when staying in Cooly

Today, I, Ricardo, had an extremely disappointing experience at the Coolangatta Sands Hotel. I initially had an issue with my order, as the food that arrived was not what was offered on the menu. I managed to sort it out politely with one of the waiters, but then the manager stepped in and was shockingly rude throughout the situation. Despite me agreeing to take a different item from the menu, the manager’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. Later, while I was on the phone, a waitress rudely yelled at me to pay the difference for the menu change. At that point, I decided to ask for a refund because the overall treatment was unacceptable. The lack of respect and professionalism, especially from the manager, was appalling. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible service!

This is technically a hostel with a bit of a hotel vibe. The simple room was small but clean. The shared bathrooms were modern and clean. The shared kitchen had all you needed to cook a meal except for Cutlery. Great for a short stay. We stayed 3 nights and that was enough. Our room window opened to a alley way for smokers, a bit noisy. The walls were thin, you could hear everything. Pretty much what we expected for a cheap room above a tavern. The staff were lovely and friendly. Great location.

Outstanding! The young man and lovely lady who helped me at reception were very understanding of my situation with night shift and went above and beyond to get me sorted. The absolute stunner at the bar was fantastic. $10 for a rum and coke is not a bad price. The lunch special was great value and was whipped up before I even had time to finish my rum. Delicious too. The room was everything I needed and there were plenty of amenities. I'll definitely stay here again next time I am down this way!

I came to the hotel after a flight and it was closed, even after I booked a night and talked to the reception on the phone to make sure I'm gonna arrive late because I just land here. I had to sleep on the street

I stayed at Coolangatta Sands Hotel with my girlfriend for one night. We booked the Queens Room, which was decent for a short stay, but the walls are quite thin, thus you can hear a lot from the hallway. Since it's essentially a hostel, it's not the quietest spot. However, the location is great and it worked fine for a quick overnight stay.

Right in the heart of Coolangatta. Walk every where. Reasonable prices for food and 🍺. Friendly staff and the service was great. Comfortable accommodation and bathroom facilities good and clean 👌. Good value for money. Robert Shaw

Rude staff, Too loud to sleep, Overpriced

Not worth the pricing. Staff are rude (besides ebony who greeted at the door). Beds are small and creaky. Wifi requires a PHD in computer science to turn on. Cards fail to open doors. The best experience I had was leaving at 3am. Do not spend Your money here.

Top old styled pub surrounded by sky scrapers. Small but avoidable rooms with shared facilities, clean, close to airport, top food & service. I've just spent my 2nd stay there & will return. Highly recommended for the budget minded traveller

Table 20 Tuesday night 20/8/24 Kirrabelle Kitchen - Sands Holel Coolangatta 9 roast pork meals - everyone's pork meat was tough, worst pork ever. I didn't even get crackle but others did. When the waitress was told about the meals, she said no-one else has complained tonight, I'll tell the Chef and walked away. No-care attitude from the waitress and she was snappy when she brought out the meals. Maybe the pork was frozen and heated up?? Vegetables & Gravy OK. After this experience we will not be coming back - we regularly stay at Coolangatta.

I enjoyed my stay here😁staff is friendly and intelligent. There's is no tv and WiFi is basic ,but that does not matter 2 me.Security of this place is top notch and I like that😁. bonus kitchen area were you can cook,+ATM inside.

Great location and balcony with a little view or Kirra

The room was shabby and run down. It had a broken locker and the furniture needs an upgrade. The toilet/shower multipurpose rooms are disgusting. Sketchy clientele on the ground floor. I am giving two stars because the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is really good.

If you want a basic hotel this is it ,,the air con wasn't working ,,not enough blankets on the bed ,, as another person said ,,turn the hot water on for a shower go and have a smoke ,,by that time it'll be worm ,,that was right ,, but a waste of a lot of water 3 out of 10

Do you enjoy sleeping? Then this may not be the place for you (on a weekend). Between the hours of midnight and 4am the kids of Coolangatta converge on the streets outside the hotel to stand around screaming. Relentlessly. We got less than 2 hours sleep. Also the rooms are incredibly basic, nothing but a bed and a lamp, but staff are lovely.

Great place for coolies visit not far to walk bottlo surf club parking for visitors. But needs elevator. Only stairs for us older folk. But lovely

Have just stayed there for too long. It’s one weird place. Long term residents boozing and making noise outside rooms into the early hours, while others are trying to sleep. One of their long term residents is paranoia personified, as an ex psych nurse I know all the signs!!

I went to the Kirra belle sands hotel pub. How do you screw up a Parmy? Well if you ever need to know ask the chefs here. The toppings were so sweet you may as well got me sugar and spoon fed me. Parmy is suppose to be a dinner not a dessert. Everyone who ordered the Parmy was complaining how sweet it was…. Did you not wash the pan from the sweet pork? I’m not sure. I couldn’t personally eat it and won’t be back.

Accommodation is not up to standard for the amount you pay, it’s grotty the air conditioning unit is filthy dirty.. just four walls and a bed .. no coffe or teas nothing! The cupboard old and dirty! the bed was clean and comfortable, the showers toilet smell and not cleaned very well… if you like basic and not worried about being clean this place is for you

The room we stayed in (20) is in disrepair, but the staff were friendly and the location is 100m from the beach.

Great location, but the staff were rude ab initio. It began with them being very slow, & then assuming I'm not from Australia. It just got worse & worse. The double suites are not worth it at all. Utter disaster.

I was at this place for a function last weekend. All I have to say is the service we had was disgusting. Not a smile, not a word spoken to us, just dirty looks and extremely unfriendly service, 1 bar staff in particular, but overall the service was terrible. I work in customer service and I know how important it is to have staff with good customer service, I’m no expert but it’s just common sense. A simple “hey what can I get for you?” would of been appreciated.

Fantastic stay at the Sands. Everything you could need or expect is achieved by the outstanding team who work there. Great location, great facilities and the price was value for money. Highly recommended

I couldn't care less about the place I stay when I travel. I always pick the cheapest places I can throw my bags and come back to for a few hours sleep. Unfortunately, the Sands hotel failed to meet these requirements, with a smoke alarm periodically beeping through the night. I reported it but the attendant said they couldn't do anything about it, which is just a little bit INSANE.

Best bangers and mash in the world!

Tinha tudo pra ser um bom hotel, mas os funcionários não respeitam o silêncio do local. A partir das 5 horas da manhã eles começam a bater porta para entrar e sair dos ambientes que se torna impossível dormir. Uma falta de respeito total com os hóspedes que estão ali para descansar

Great food, and very friendly service. Portion sizes were very decent and food was well presented and prepared.

On the 2nd Dec I hosted my husband's 60th birthday party at the Coolangatta Sands Hotel. The venue was amazing and just perfect for our gathering. The function managers, Stacey & Kat, were extremely helpful and always answered my email inquiries promptly. I was organising this function site unseen from NQ so I was a bit nervous about the venue so I may have sent them a few emails. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly, professional and excellent at their job. All in all we had a night to remember and I highly recommend this venue for your next function.

Worst place I have stayed! So noisey, aircon did not work. Food was terrible. And the bathroom was very unclean!!!

Tonight we ate in the bistro inside this pub called Kirabelle Kitchen. We ordered the $15 special of the day - Chicken parmigiana. It was excellent and very good value !! Could not fault it. Generous sized parmy, loads of chips and delicious fresh salad with tasty dressing. The lady staff member with the blonde curly hair and glasses was friendly and helpful- great service by her. Can highly recommend. Make sure you take your appetite with you - big meal

The meals are fantastic and very well priced 👍🏾 The atmosphere I find, is always friendly and inviting. It's hard to leave when the beers are flowing and the locals are so down to earth ✨️

Booked a room for me and my daughter ages ago and when in reception they notified me that no Under 18 is allowed to stay. Ruined the logistics of the weekend. I'm not killing the messenger as the staff was very friendly. This information should be clearer!!! There is no Info about this during the whole booking process!!! Adult" age cut should be fully specified as for majority of accommodation (for price purposes) will consider any over 12 as an adult..."

What a gem of a place with old style rooms but very private and extremely affordable for any traveller ...a shared kitchen with all the facilities a pro cook could use and central to shops and the beach! Def will be back for a hens or Bux night it's perfect too!!
