Great basic clean rooms. Has every essential but not fancy. Great location right in the centre. Can't complain for the value

We can see that the rooms were renovated a short time ago. The room was very nice, as was the bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The cleaning was excellent. The location is also perfect. I highly recommend it

Pokie selection id ok but the standard of punter is terrible to the point you almost feel uncomfortable. Staff do not have good control of the room and do not police foul language and behaviour. I go to places like this to switch off not to deal with this, pretty much any gaming room I’ve been to in Hobart is more pleasant and relaxing.

Excellent location with newly renovated room and bathroom facilities. Close to everything, cafe, supermarkets and airport coach stops!

Can’t comment on the rooms here but I called in for a pint and a feed. The bar has a pretty good selection of beers. It only cost $24 for a pint, burger and chips! If I wasn’t flying out this evening I would come back tomorrow. Best burger I’ve had in a while.

Great position. Perfect for short stays if you want to be in the city. Not great for long stays. Towels replaced frequently, but not bedding. Floors not cleaned once in my 3 week stay. Pls make up my room" sign was ignored."

Rooms are above a pub/pokies, but noise isn't a problem. It's right in the heart of the city, plenty to see & do within walking distance. Doesn't include parking. It says there is free breakfast, but that's not true. Room has fridge, kettle, coffee/tea, free bottles of water. Good hotel!

I can't comment on the accommodation as I didn't stay here. However, the bar is well stocked, not overpriced and friendly. Gaming room has a good array of machines. Good place to unwind after a busy day.

I was booked in a budget queen room for one night. A warm welcome and a pleasant surprise by how large and clean the room and en suite bathroom was. Immaculate white linen on the bed, ample clean white towels, a small fridge with free water and kettle with tea and coffee. Bathroom was large and well equipped though the shower was small and a fixed shower head, the only slight problem. Central to everything in Hobart and easy on the pocket, I would highly recommend and definitely use again.

For the price it’s totally acceptable.

Very good accommodation at the Central Hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels, tea, coffee etc and biscuits daily. We arrived late on a Thursday night and the key was left in a key safe and easy to access. Price was very reasonable and compared to other accommodation in the area this place was the most central and convenient to all attractions and Woolworths and shops very close by. Very quiet place to sleep except Friday night when locals are having a drink in the back outside smoking area but venue closed at about 10.30pm so not a big deal. Downstairs has bar, dining area, pokies, keno and horse racing on tv. We had dinner on a Friday night and it was good but not great. Prices for food very reasonable. Staff nice and courteous. Keep in mind rooms accessible by stairs only. Would recommend to friends and family coming to Hobart for holidays

Never again. Rooms were clean, bathrooms, presentable and modern. And the Central location is fantastic but that's where the good features end. The place is difficult to find even with maps. Poor signage from street & No car park. We were greeted by a snarky evening manager who spoke poor English at best and less compassion. Even though it was a Sunday night and there was no patrons in the hotel. The music cranked loudly well after 9:00pm through the paper thin floor into our room. Tried to approach the main bar only to find all entrances locked and unnaccessable.the noise stopped eventually, and we finally got to sleep only to be woken at 6:00am by what can only be described as someone hitting a metal garbage can lid with a shifting spanner. Tried to approach the staff again only to be faced with the same problem, locked out. I do not recommend this place, but it does have a few good points mentioned above. We rate this 2 thumbs down 👎👎

As soon as you enter this venue you are warmly greeted by the incredible staff that go above and beyond for their patrons. Having worked hospo jobs, retail, and community services i can confidently say the level of customer service these beautiful people provide is excellent! Very proffesional. Central location with a HEATED beer garden where you can smoke (hard to come by in Hobart CBD) 5 stars! ✨️

Clean, comfortable room in a fantastic location. There can be a bit of traffic noise at night, but not a huge concern. The chicken parmi is also nice (and you get a discount if you're staying in the hotel). I'd also like to thank the staff for dealing with a booking duplication due to a webpage timing out and being refreshed. When I approached the booking platform, Wotif, I was told I could not be refunded. But when I contacted the hotel directly, a refund for the duplicate payment was made immediately. I really appreciate the understanding and common sense approach.

Great place to stay while touring Hobart. Room was great and cleaned daily. Very quiet hotel. Staff were very friendly. It was central to everything. Meals were only served Friday and Saturday nights and the meals were great.

The room was clean and as described. The location is fantastic, walking distance to everything. It's a bit tight with the two beds, but we weren't spending tons of time in the room anyway. The twin bed was not the most comfortable but the queen was better. It can get a bit loud when the bar has music playing. They tell you this up front so it was expected. You can hear people pretty clearly if you're in the right part of the building, but they shut down promptly at closing time, around 9 or 10pm, and then it gets very quiet. The staff is friendly. Check-in and check out were very easy.

Rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning was fantastic and much needed on the hottest day of the year! Great location as well.

Well there is no food available of an evening on a Wednesday night. The TV has no volume at all . The guy in the next room was playing violin until 10.30pm when I went and knocked on his door and let him know that I did not pay for a concert. Disappointing honestly.

Advertised on website as open till 9pm but called last drinks at 8pm and closing at 8.30. poor service in general. Not great for a capital city hotel. Get what you pay for regarding rooms. Showers not cleaned properly, soap, shampoo and conditioner left there from previous guests. Also hair from previous guests in bed linen indicating linen not changed...definitel room for improvement. Need to pick your act up. Will be contacting manager to give feedback. Not good enough 😕

Clean, quiet and excellent service! The bed was beautiful and comfortable.... the room was spacious! Five minutes walk to Elizabeth Street Pier. Taxis available at the door. Very convenient and highly recommended!

Good accommodation for someone looking to travel withought a vehicle, public bus transportation is nearby with regular routes and my partner and I found it easy to navigate the area with out electric scooters only. Major drawback was the lack of an elevator and a fairly tight staircase with 3x 90 degree turns being the only way to get your baggage to the room. The rooms are large but their shape does diminish shap somewhat. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and the room was rather tidy with the exception being a couple of stains in the carpet, red wine is my guess.

not a lot i can say as there was no meals on the night we went staff were heipfull.

We wanted a meal with veggies and we got it. We both had porterhouse steak with veggies and a fine bottle of Shiraz. made it a very good meal. Two couples on the next table also gave the thumbs up for their steak meals. The wife checked out the pokies. She won so she was happy. The facilities were clean and the staff were very good. We will look to stay here next time because of its facilities and location.

If you've ever stayed in an Ibis, these rooms have a similar vibe. Basic, but comfortable. Oh, but if they give you room 3, ask for them to change it because on arrival the bathroom drains stunk of sewage and stayed that way through my entire stay. Thankfully the smell didn't escape out the closed bathroom door into the room.

First time visitor to Hobart wanted to stay smack middle in the city Hotel not far from skybus pickup & drop off was very handy. Supermarket around the corner, Information center a stroll towards the wharf. ||Overall I enjoyed the premise, and facilities, Barman was very polite patient and hospitable. Room was clean fresh and tidy.

Had a really lovely dinner here a bit early in the night. Loved the parmy options and we were excited to try a variation we’ve never had before. Tasted great!! Service was really friendly and quick. They gave my boyfriend a local cider on the house to try so that was really nice of them and we appreciated the hospitality heaps.

Some of the work are rude the woman who work the are beautiful and nice

Pros: Location! Set right in the middle of the Hobart CBD - everything is super close if you are walking. Lots of places to eat around Elizabeth street which is just around the corner from the hotel. Rooms are okay - based on the location, you get what you are paying for. Cons: No parking! If you are renting a car, feel free to park outside on the road on Collins Street after hours and if you move your car before 8 am the next morning you should be fine! Because the hotel is situated on the Main Street, it can get noisy sometimes at night, but nothing too much to worry about. Also, the pub downstairs the hotel is only open for dinner on the weekends which is a bummer!

Not particularly luxurious but peaceful, clean hotel in a good location.

SO unclear about parking. I have chronic pain and in this cold weather go to park in the parking they suggested (two blocks away) and it was CLOSED. I asked for a refund and they said no. So for ZERO service they are keeping my $74 don't stay here, so so unhelpful and unfair. I barely have the money to scrape by and have no idea where I am staying tonight. Thanks a lot Central hotel.

Cold beer , quick service

We made a booking the day before checking in and unfortunately not long after, got stuck in a hard Victoria Lockdown which meant we couldn't catch our flight the next morning. The team were very lovely in issuing a full refund and the customer service was excellent. Thank you so much for your understand and we hope to stay with you once borders reopen!

This was an interesting place to stay. It's cheap and basic and you definitely get what you paid for. It's clean and the staff are nice. It was a little annoying when they kept calling us to find out when we were getting there - even though we told them the first time they called us. They advertised breakfast but that's not included anymore. However that being said - the staff were kind enough to give us a snack pack instead. It's a great location but yeah, definitely a basic and cheap place to stay if you're just passing by. Oh! And they don't have a lift to get to the upstairs rooms.
