1 bar person wasn’t very nice otherwise fantastic stay..

Fabulous location!

We had a room only booking here (which didn't include breakfast), and unfortunately, the main cafe next to the hotel is terrible which reduces it's appeal. By this, I mean extremely long waits, poor cocktails and average food. The room we had was huge and they kindly split the beds for us. We had a sea / port view and the room was really spacious. It was a little loud though. The beds were comfy. Some of the details were a little outdated and tired, things like carpets / dressers / furniture / dressing gowns. There was also no convinient plugs near the beds so we had to share a socket at the end of the room. They did give us a sheet of paper on arrival regarding the convicts transported to Tazmania along with the results of our family name which was a really interesting addition on arrival. The bathroom was spacious with a jet bath and shower. There was plenty to choose from in the mini bar / snacks section, but a bit pricey at $4 for a water. The downstairs bar was also really nice, nice cocktails - unfortunately this only opened at 4pm as would have been nice to pop in occasionally in the day. The parking was $35 a day, a little pricey but our main option. Overall, it was quite expensive for over $1,000, with no food / breakfast included. It wasn't quite worth it for me personally as for a 5* hotel I was expecting fireworks!

Service was excellent! Likely the best hotel service we have experienced. Rooms very comfortable and with interesting history. Will stay again.

Beautiful Hotel in Hobart very cozy and well appointed right in the middle of things …love the bar and the outside / inside courtyard….

Had such a lovely afternoon drinking barrel-aged cocktails at the bar and enjoying the beautiful art around the hotel. Thank you!

absolut

Fabulous hotel full of vibrant history. Very friendly and attentive staff, large rooms, and a fun bar with creative and tasty drinks. 4:00 gallery tour was such a gem and we loved learning about all of the pieces. We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel and would highly recommended it.

Superb location, brilliantly designed and comfortable rooms - everything well thought through and lots of nice design touches. Wonderful place to stay. ||Very friendly and helpful staff.||Dining at Landscape a wonderful experience and good value.

Nice setting||Our deluxe spa room was fine, but layout was not good. All furniture's was arranged at foot of the bed which was also the passage in the room. ||I would have thought it might have been better layout ||No space for suitcase opening ||We ate at LANDSCAPE. fabulous steak, ||Had drinks at long bar. Large variety , delay In making cocktails. ||Breakfast was nice in the Atrium. Good food and presentation.

Staff could not have been more helpful, attentive or kind. They went above and beyond to make my birthday so special, more than I have ever received anywhere else. Will stay here again anytime I’m visiting Tasmania purely because of how accomodating and friendly the staff were - Absolutely exceptional views, rooms and amenities too!!! Very happy ❤️

Pricey but worth it if it’s within your budget. Don’t forget to ask about the free art & history tours. They are definitely worth it!

Stayed 3 nights all good. Bit disappointed with the response, when the fire alarm sounded at midnight,(thought it was an outside car alarm at first rooms very soundproof) , There was a fire down the street, smoke must have set the alarms off. A fire officer should have been on each floor making sure ALL guests were out of there rooms and guided to safety. Knocking doors would have been a good idea......

Our stay here was too short!! ||We only stayed for one night at the end of a trip exploring the west coast and we needed another day to walk all the hallways to see the art …..300+ pieces I gather. It’s not that it was a surprise to us to find so many pieces of art at an ‘art hotel’, just disappointing we ran out of time to explore more than two floors of it. It’s a treat just to wander aimlessly around the public spaces - check out the beautiful staircase too!||More disappointing was that we booked an outside restaurant that didn’t live up to expectations, when we realise we should have booked at Landscape Restaurant in our own hotel. We went in there after we returned from dinner elsewhere and asked if they’d mind us looking around and it was no issue. Fantastic Glover artworks and a beautiful ambience. Dining there next time for sure! ||We booked a deluxe spa room - lovely bath as desired - but we neglected to read the info that said that there are some access issues for some rooms. We have no mobility issues ourselves BUT we received essentially a loft room that the lift doesn’t reach up to…..so lugging four cases up several last staircases dampened the arrival somewhat! Watch out for that. ||That said, the greeting and escort to our room was smooth and ultra friendly (and the receptionist whipped up an ice bucket and champagne glasses for us in a flash!!!), and the room was plenty big enough to accommodate our four suitcases once we were got in there - so ‘loft’ does not mean small. No view to speak of though. So be it. ||Final comment - we could have stolen one of the big wooden coffee tables from the foyer given the chance - stunning pieces! ||We’ll be back. We’ve done Macq01 and the Tasman and both were gorgeous but we think this hotel had more of a ‘call’ to return.

stunning hotel. classy and smart. exquisite renovations. THE MOST comfortable beds. wonderful bar. staff fabulous and well located. many excellent restaurants nearby… walking distance. no need for a car. didn’t want to leave. can’t wait to go back

Wounderfull, all the staff are very kind and helpful, well managed and well dressed. The restaurant Landscape food is exceptional, the waiters and waiteries are faultless. The room was totally clean and nothing broken . Breakfast in the garden was also wounderfull.

Comfortable bed||Henry Jones suite was an amazing room, spacious and well decorated, although a lot of light first thing in the morning. ||A few things could improve with pampering guests. ||Need to fill up coffee pods rather than guests buying their own.

Stayed in studio suite for 3 nights. Very nice and modern. Bed very comfortable and rooms very clean. All facilities you could ask for and great location. Staff very friendly. One draw back is the lack of parking and the frightful price for valet service.

Fabulous architecture/service in a beautiful location. The staff are informative, friendly and passionate about their work, what the city has to offer and go out of their way to make your stay both personal and pleasurable. I would recommend the Henry Jones as not just a motel but an experience to be savoured.

We have stayed at The Henry Jones Art Hotel previously, our stay in the Loft was great, perfect for us. Had to return & it was magic like always, service is fantastic, we had an issue with our room & were given the Suite for 1 night, it was amazing, Sam at the front desk, went above & beyond to look after us, we received a complimentary breakfast the following morning as well, thank you so much for making our stay amazing, great location, great hotel, great service, highly recommend. Sydeny. Mary G

The staff were amazing, so helpful and knowledgeable about the hotel services, such a nice change to stay in a hotel with some character, that embraces its history and beautiful art on display. The beds are firm but comfortable, while there is a lift in to access your room, there are also some stairs to contend with.

Best hotel I’ve stayed at ever

An amazing experience of culture and comfort

Why no 6 star option? This place is simply magnificent, and topped off the end of a beautiful holiday in Tasmania. Right on the wharf, surrounded by restored luxury, a stroll to the Salamanca Markets. An experience, from the food to the staff. Every wall covered in beautiful art. Take the tour, and learn about it's history!

A wonderful hotel in Hobart, overlooking the harbor and walking distance to everything in Hobart near the water. The art inside and the history of the hotel is amazing. Felt like true luxury. The views from the harbor were magical. And the staff was 5 star.

Went there for dinner! Excellent service, beautiful atmosphere! Food was great! Beautiful paintings in the dining area!

That's what I call a truly artisan hotel!

Beautiful hotel which blends history, art and contemporary comfort. I now choose this hotel when coming to Hobart without even looking elsewhere. Its warm and comfortable rooms, focus on art and history, friendly and attentive staff all make me feel comfortable, welcome and relaxed!

The Henry Jones is in the perfect location for a weekend in Hobart, with easy access to the wharf, the ferry to MONA & lots of restaurants. The hotel is unique, with lots of art to enjoy and we had a charming room with lots of bespoke historical features & a modern amazing bath! The staff were so friendly and kind, insisting dessert be brought up after dinner for in-room dining and leaving me a gorgeous hand-written birthday card. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in one of the original rooms. The room was spacious and comfortable. Most importantly considering the weather it was warm. We had a view out to the docks and could see boats come in. If you do stay we recommend the free art tour which was interesting both for the art and the historical facts about the IXL jam factory.

Incredible stay at Henry Jones. Beautiful hotel, comfortable bed, and wonderful ambience

Awesome hotel in a fantastic location! The Henry Jones Art Hotel is an excellent hotel well worth a visit. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was incredibly spacious.

Un. Real. Best hotel stay I’ve had in a long time. Not often you encounter a venue as amazing as this with staff to back it up! Special mentions to Alex, Melinda and Jenny! Made a regular outta me!

Again and again, I return to Henry Jones because simply it is incomparable to any other place I’ve stayed across the world. The warmth of the staff is symbiotic with the hotel ambience. In a word, it is enchanting. From the moment you walk through the doors you are captivated. Each room is exquisite and unique, stone walls and long timbers framing the art laden walls. With windows which peer out on the quiet ambiance of Hobart docklands and views reaching the mountains which hold the timelessness of this city. .The presentation is perfection. Looking forward to visiting yet again for another memorable experience. Thank you to the staff who continue to provide exceptional hospitality. Nothing compares to this place. Do yourself a favour and enrich your soul with a piece of Hobart history. Soon you will be sitting by the window, looking out upon the docks, remembering the importance of beauty and its own place in the history of our hearts, writing a review of your own. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enjoy

Spacious, well laid out rooms with sympathetic use of the existing architecture. Wonderfully attentive staff and brilliant location.

The bartender is very friendly, funny and accommodating, the drinks were sublime

We loved this hotel from the get go. The staff were amazing , very friendly, welcoming & happy to advise where to go, what to do & what to see. Special mentions to : Ricardo , Linda , Sophie, Nerida & Upuli The breakfast was beautiful & the rooms very cosy & warm & LUUUUUVed the art work & staying in a precious atmosphere of yesteryear 🩷🩷❤️❤️ Don’t change a thing 🌟💫⭐️✨ Robz & Damian April 2024

Fantastic place to visit and stop.

We had a memorable dinner in the Landscapes restaurant. Perfectly cooked fillet steak, duck fat potatoes and steamed greens to die for and wait staff who were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Without doubt, one of the best restaurant meals we've had, anywhere.

We loved it. Service was excellent, helpful and friendly. Room service food was good too. We had a good view too.

Lunch for 3 in the atrium. Lots of choices on the menu generous servings, super relaxed atmosphere, and great service. Thank you jam packed

We had a lovely stay at the Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart. The location is on the waterfront, in a historic building and a lovely walk to the high street, Salamanca Market and the MONA ferry. Room was very large and charming, including a large bathtub with jacuzzi feature. Gina at the front of house was a stand out - she was always bubbly and so helpful, providing excellent recommendations for food and parking. We stayed at the hotel for a night, left for a few days to visit Cradle Mountain and returned for the rest of our stay in Hobart. On our return, we were pleasantly surprised by a personal card and locally produced chocolates in our room. On our last day, Gina came through yet again with another card and chocolates for each person in our party. Thank you to all and especially Gina at the Henry Jones Art Hotel for making us feel so welcome! Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting Hobart.

Interessantes Konzept mit tasmanischer Kunst und Künstlern im historischen Haus . Excellent renoviert, individuell eingerichtet, sehr schöne Tour für Gäste durch das Haus und die Geschichte . Super leckeres Frühstück.

I so desperately wanted to give a 5 star review but this place was expensive and far from 5 star. The treat we had booked and the most expensive hotel on our trip. Location is excellent. Team that work there are on the whole amazing but some did not want to be there or just say good morning. Whilst things were attended to while we there for over $1000 for 2 nights you expect better. Arrived and the parking was a problem , as we parked outside the hotel and told it was complimentary, then to be told we could not park there and parking was $35 a night. Then arrived in our room to find out it had s letter addressed to another customer. So not our room. They said sorry and in fact it was our room. But it did not look strictly like what we booked. Missing 1 whole couch. Then on night 2 we get a letter about a noisy wedding taking place right next to our room. Nice ! No wonder we got someone else’s room! Noisy is not the word. All night long noise. No sleep . Then to top it all , people start smoking below on the tables on the street. so now we have a room full of 2nd hand smoke . All for the princely sum of over $500 a night. Yes thx for the sparkling wine and chocolate, but I’d rather have what I paid for. I nice peaceful hotel to enjoy Hobart. Instead it was noisy, smoky and far from 5 star. Infact our campsite we stayed at the night prior was more peaceful and thoughtful. First up stop people smoking right under guests windows, most people don’t like smoke in their rooms. Won’t be back.

Lovely wedding venue/food. Just let down by disgraceful drinks package - the bar staff basically only served water for the last 90 minutes for everyone, despite paying for an hourly drinks package

There are no words to describe this experience. Walking in the doors you are met by friendly and happy staff so wanting to help. Then your eyes capture the architecure, the massive timber beams looking like a timber forest. You explore every level and you cannot be but inspired by the timber work and skills of ages gone bye. The artwork is amazing. Christine and I have stayed in many hotels but this is a level by itself. This is why there is a star system, It is based on this magnificent hotel. It sets the standards for others to follow. You will never encounter such a warm hearffelt experience. If you are going to Hobart look at his Hotel first, it is a magic experience. If I came back in an after life I would be a ghost wandering about their coridors. I am from NSW but on our special events, birthday, anniversary (already up to 51) I will book this Hotel. I garuante that if you want to experience a Special Event then book this Hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Very good

An excellent hotel housed partly in the factory they made Rosella jams in the 19th century. Built mostly of convict worked sandstone, the buildings showcase the history of the Hobart waterfront. Inside the hotel houses several restaurants and a 5 star hotel. Staff are polite and attentive. There are several high end clothing and craft shops within the complex showcasing today's craftsmen and women, items to embellish your home.

Great accommodation right on the waterfront and close to all the action, restaurants and attractions. Lovely conversion of an old warehouse building with nice clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Not sure I’d get the breakfast package again but we would stay here next time we visit Hobart.

Amazing hotel, very spacious rooms, stylish interior, and extremely friendly staff. The location is also amazing and valet parking works flawlessly.

I’ll make this simple, you get 5 star service, valet parking, right in the heart of Hobart’s gorgeous dining precinct. We stayed for two nights and our studio loft apartment was spacious, modern and equipped with everything we could want. The bed was large and super comfortable. It was quiet and exceeded our expectations. We were treated like royalty and even if I tried to be fussy, I literally can’t fault the service and location. This is a premier Hotel with all the trappings. We even had a complimentary bottle of local champagne waiting for us to celebrate my wife’s birthday!!!! Please don’t change a thing, the standard you’ve set is polished and up market and your service delivery is superb.

We did not stay at the hotel itself but twice visited the lounge and bar at the hotel and it was absolutely excellent service. We sat in a quite spot surrounded by beautiful art and was served on the first night by a young man who could not have been more accommodating the second night topped the first with Nicole organising tea cocktails and food to our table with effortless ease and friendliness that was without fault so 5/5 congratulations someone has chosen great staff and equiped them with great service skills many thanks Ps on Thursday night it was quite and on Friday night they had a good jazz band in the bar to add to the ambience Next visit we will stay here

Always have a good stay, close to everywhere, clean, quiet and helpful staff

As an art lover, I was very much looking forward to staying here while visiting MONA. But the art is, frankly, terrible. The rooms overlook Macq01 hotel which has aged into an eyesore just six years after completion. Also had language difficulties communicating with the staff.

Nice place to satay for Hobart visitors.

Perfect for me. Great valet parking. Rooms great standard.

Excellent hotel, we hit up the cocktail bar and did the art tour as well. Really nice experience. Good hotel, good breakfast. I might just be back.

I would have to say this Hotel is just the best! Everything here was just Amazing! The Staff are so helpful and smiling and answer all your question's. Loved it here and will stay again.

Great city location. Great coffee shops
