We've stayed at St Ives around eight or ten times over the years and thought it was about time to leave a review. It is a sixties or seventies style building so it's a bit old but, it is perfectly located for those who need to be within walking distance of Battery Point, Hobart and Sandy Bay. Rooms are a decent size with air conditioning, kitchenette and good sized bathroom. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Rooms are serviced daily. Large car park with sufficient parking, plus (recently) plenty of EV charging. Staff are always pleasant and accommodating.

Great location in easy walking distance to wharves, Salamanca and the city. Very friendly and accommodating staff and the room was well appointed ( huge tv) with the option to cook or visit one of the many restaurants and pubs close by. Very easy to recommend to anyone else. Just be early or play car park chess in the evening. Three EV charging stations too.

Very well maintained lodging with very helpful/friendly staff (looking at you, Jess). Don't let the Soviet era exterior architecture disuade you, the interior is in great shape and served us well. Highly recommend as an affordable stay in a great location for exploring Hobart. Oh, and they offer a very reasonably priced continental breakfast

A quiet and price-friendly accommodation. The location is a bit away from the central but not completely out of the urban area. The hotel has a decent vibe and a group of decent employees. Would stay here again if ever come back.

Lovely large clean rooms, ours with a view over Hobart's Tasman bridge and kitchenette close to city centre arts and culture precinct and harbour.

Stayed here for the first time with my partner and we are very impressed. The price is very affordable considering it also have a kitchen, couches, dining table and a balcony and the room was great. It was clean and spacious. Service is also great as every day after we went out, they would replace our towels and refill everything and also make our bed so we always come back with a clean room. The location is also great as it is a walking distance to the city but not too close so its not chaotic. I would definitely stay at St Ives again next time we came back to Hobart!

We recently stayed at St Ives in Hobart and had a great experience. The cleaning crews did a fantastic job, with everything being spotless throughout our stay. The location is incredibly convenient, making it easy to get around Hobart. Having two-bedroom accommodation with off-street parking was a real bonus, especially in such a central area. Our recent experience at Sr lves had its ups and downs. While our room was clean and tidy, providing a comfortable atmosphere, our stay was slightly marred by the reception staff. The man at the front desk had a poor attitude and was impatient when we sought clarification on our payment. He even questioned why we needed to check the travel agency conditions when we had paused for less than a minute. This made check-in less welcoming than we had hoped. On a positive note, the apartment featured an open kitchen, allowing for easy meal prep, and the free parking was a significant convenience. It would have been even better if free laundry service were provided. If we can overlook the front desk staff, the apartment itself is a decent option for those seeking comfort and convenience.

The apartment locates 15-20 minutes walk from city centre, 10 minutes walk from the pier where a lot of seafood eateries. However it provided all kitchenwares you need in preparing your meals. Be reminded about the check in hours, contact the apartment in advance if you have to check in out of their office hours.

Large room with well equipped kitchen and microwave, clean and spacious, large carpark, facilities do not look grand, but classic and cozy, will definitely stay again when we back to Hobart

The location of the hotel was in the centre of Hobart. The parking area was just enough and quite busy. The facilities inside the room were sufficient and suitable for car traveller to prepare their breakfast in its small kitchen area. It was a multi storey building but thanks to the elevator provided. The reception will be closed in late evening but sufficient guideline provided for you to check in.

Awesome accommodation in a fantastic location. We were a bit sad that we only had 1 night here as we could have easily stayed a week to explore all around. The rooms are well maintained and recently renovated in a great way. Air con worked a treat for heating the room nicely in winter, laundry was handy to have on site also. Easy and plentiful parking, and not to mention, the staff were all lovely to deal with. We look forward to coming back to hobart sometime soon and we will definitely be staying here again!

Excellent place to stay in Hobart.

The location is near Battery Point, about a 10-minute walk from the city center. It is well-maintained and has excellent kitchen facilities, which I really appreciated. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

We stayed 2 nights at a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment. Overall a great stay. Excellent location at Battery Point. Walking distance to plenty of eateries and shops plus Salamanca Market and the waterfront. Only 20 mins drive from Hobart Airport. Free Parking on-site is a definite plus. Friendly staff- especially ever-smiling Theo who was very helpful and lent us a weighing scale for us to weigh our luggage the night before our flight. Reception is from 8am-9pm. Communal washing machine (payable by load) is available with free washing powder. The apartment we stayed in is split-level, so I’m thinking it might not be very suitable for those with mobility issues as the two bedrooms are on the upper level. Kitchenette, dining and living areas are on the lower level. Kitchenette is adequately furnished for us to prepare simple meals. There is reverse air-conditioning unit on both levels. There is also a separate heater in the master bedroom. No electric blankets. Good view of the city from master bedroom’s big window. A distant window view of Mt Wellington from the other smaller bedroom. There is only one toilet and bathroom with shower hose. Toiletries and freshly laundered towels are provided. Free wifi. I’m an ultra light sleeper and very sensitive to vibrations so could feel and hear some vibrating noise at night (perhaps the pipes?) but my husband slept through like a log. Overall, we would stay there again the next time we visit Hobart.

Amazing value for money! We had to work from home and the small double rooms have a desk and dining table for 2. The kitchenette is well equipped and staff are very nice, even accommodated for our early checkin requirements. Highly recommend!

Spacious and clean 4 star apartments within walking distance from CBD, and with parking included. Good value for money; have stayed several times.

We needed a place to stay in Hobart and our friends recommended this place as they often stay here. Booking was easy, reception friendly and helpful and room clean and very comfortable. Price affordable and good value. Wanted to extend our stay but were booked out so much be very popular.

St Ives is in a good location within walking distance of Salamanca place and Hobart's waterfront our apartment was on two levels with the living area on the lower and two good sized bedrooms and the bathroom on the upper. Both level's had scenic views over Hobart's waterfront. The staff were friendly and courteous and there was facilities for EV charging. I can recommend this accommodation and would be only to happy to stay there again when visiting Hobart

So close to Battery Point, the wharf, food places, Salamanca Markets - all walking distance Booked a 2 bedroom which had a loft with bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. beautiful views over the city from the third floor! Staff were helpful and friendly Parking on-site can get busy and full by the end of the day, but plenty of side street parking if needed.

Good location. Close to both CBD and Sandy Bay. The kitchenette is very convenient. There was an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, pots and pans and knives and forks, but no chopsticks. Free internet. Front desk closes at 9 pm, but you can enter and exit multiple doors at anytime with your room card. Free parking space. Luggage storage is available. Let us check in at 12 noon. For sleeping, there is a powerful air conditioner, but only two thin blankets and the mattress is too soft. A$6 for continental breakfast, but you have to fill out a form to order. A$6 for both washing machine or dryer. Free laundry powder or liquid. Wellington Mountain and a corner view of the ocean from your room!

We booked this hotel for its location. You can easily walk to Battery Point, Salamanca …etc.The room needs some upgrading as it seems dated. Housekeeping cleared our rubbish the first day but did not on the 2nd. Overall, it was was a wonderful stay.

My partner visited Hobart and stayed here for 5 nights, & she highly recommends it for price, location and cleanliness. The adjoining bottle shop has a wide selection of Tasmanian wines as well as other brands, spirts too.

Very generous amounts of amenities and cookware. Felt like home. Service was good too. There was a strong draft of cold air from the main door so better insulation would have been a plus. Overall very good experience. Parking area felt quite safe compared to the other areas, but you never know so always empty your car before any stay.
